sjshaw
Not to be overly impatient, but I'm hoping Arles can give us an ETA on a patch that will fix the showstopper bugs.
Tim Plum
Even though I do represent Arlie or GDS in any fashion let me be the first smartass. "When its ready". :p

sjshaw
Right, because purchasers of a product are not entitled to anything.
Old Boiler
I've never purchased a computer game that was perfect; no matter how good they are, there's always something i wish had been done differently, or better. Simulations of reality compound the problem by a couple of orders of magnitude. Having said that, this is a pretty darn good game, quite playable and enjoyable, and the handful of quibbles i have don't spoil my enjoyment of the game. I'm anxious to enjoy the benefits of all our griping, too, but there's no need to be so petulant.
sjshaw
I am amazed that a simple request for an approximate patch release date makes people lose their minds. It's like this on every fanboy site, unfortunately... OOTP, FOFC, etc. All I want to know is, is it likely to be released within one week, or one month? There are some bugs which, for me, ruin the enjoyment of the game. I would like to know approximately (within reason) when I can expect a return on my purchase price. The response "when it's ready" does not apply here. Before release, sure. If I want to buy a new car that hasn't been released to the public, and I ask the manufacturer when I can buy it, "when it's ready" is acceptable. Once it's released, and I buy the car, and the damn thing won't drive off the dealer's lot, it is perfectly reasonable to ask, "when will you have this fixed?" Arles is a big boy. I'm sure he can handle himself, so fanboys disperse.
Tim Plum
lighten up the :P should have been a clue I was giving you a hard time but meant no real malice. As to the fanboy comment you've never seen my posts to Arlie in testing or PM where I have no mercy.
sjshaw
Fair enough, Tim. I guess I was bracing for what I anticipated was coming, having seen this played out on numerous text sim boards. No hard feelings?
mh2365
One person said one thing to you with a smiley face after it mainly because it's the pat answer you get from developers on most text sim games. Then you made a nasty comment back and someone called you on it. I haven't seen a single post in this thread that could even remotely be construed as from fanboy perspective. You need to chill out. You asked a fair question and no one is calling you on it. They are calling you on your attitude toward an obvious joke. When you act like that you won't get far on any board.
Bryan Swartz
I for one hope they don't give us an ETA. The reason is that in any bugfixing of this kind, often fixing the bug reveals another, sometimes worse bug that was covered up by the first. Therefore they can either give a date that there is a fairly high likelihood of missing(bad) or just release when its ready(good). Not to mention that I've not seen one bug mentioned that truly qualifies as a 'showstopper'. Are there annoying bugs that need to be fixed? Absolutely. But that isn't the same as a bug that makes the game non-functional.
sjshaw
From my perspective, a bug that makes the game completely unenjoyable to play is no different than one that crashes the game every time. To each their own.
Bryan Swartz
What bugs are there that make the game completely unenjoyable to play, in your opinion?
sjshaw
Just a few off the top of my head that completely keep me from starting a career or dynasty... 1. Bad 4th down logic (too many teams going for it on fourth down deep in opponent's territory) 2. All prospects in SC and some other states are terrible, as a result of Arles' decision to increase the number of marginal prospects but not distribute them correctly 3. Can't cut or redshirt WR without getting error message 4. Home-and-home scheduling never ends 5. Injuries out of whack 6. AI not managing academics properly
Bryan Swartz
Well I utterly disagree that some of these even exist. For example I've redshirted three WR in my current dynasty, with no error message or crash whatsoever. Some are legitimate, but given your concern for them I would humbly and respectfully suggest then that you hold off on buying a product, from GDS or anyone else, until you have a chance to get assurances from other customers who have tried it that bugs like this don't exist. sjshaw
Well I utterly disagree that some of these even exist.
Then why are each of them listed in Arles' post?
We are currently working on a patch that will fix the following: -Fix the injury length issue (injures will be reduced in length) -Fix the coach switch issue -Fix the distance issue on penalties (ie, face mask and others) -Fix the 4th down FG logic inside the 10 -Fix the late game AI -Fix the home and home scheduling issue -Fix advance week button -two point conversion INT -Fix WR limit for redshirts/change position -underclassmen turning pro -Fix the recruit distibution issue (by state) -Timing issues for TOs -Plays called should always match -Improve CPU logic when academics given to staff
I think this thread can die now, but I'd be happy to continue the discussion with you.
