Your feud of the year.

Recommended Posts

So yeah, you have these companies like WWE or TNA that have huge feuds which last a good portion of the year, always put on decent matches. Some examples being HBK vs Y2J, Angle vs Jarrett, Angle vs Styles etc. What would you say your "feud of the year" has been.

I'm running a 2011 WWE game, and for me I'd say the feud of the year, surprisingly was Triple H vs R-Truth. They feuded for basically the latter half of the year, had great chemistry together and always delivered in the 90's with their matches. It's also helped R-Truth's popularity go through the roof as he has had a couple of wins over The Game. It finally ended when Triple H defeated R-Truth in a Last Man Standing match.

Well, over in the C-Verse, it's probably going to be Cornell/Hawkins by the time that finishes - but by the time it finishes, it'll have been at least a year and change since Hawkins turned on Cornell to mark the beginning of the feud. A lot of other workers are rolling into and out of the feud as it goes...

Right now in the middle of two that should finish up at the top of the list:

Year 1988:

Hogan vs Flair for World Title

Freebirds vs Lex Luger and Magnum TA for World Tag Titles

Also a three way battle for The North American Title with Terry Funk, Ted Dibiase and Sgt Slaughter is tearing the house down. Dibiase Turned on Funk to get it rolling.

In my C-Verse game as PSW, my main event fued has been PSW Champion Johnny Martin trying to keep The Untouchables (Frankie Future and the reformed New Jersey Devils... one in a list of changes I've had to make in the stable since my game started) from recapturing the belt. Martin isn't completely alone as nearly every babyface hates the Untouchables.

I tried to have a "hair hunting" fued between ex-member JD Morgan and the Untouchables where they shaved him bald and he tried to repay the favor, but that didn't turn out well.

TNA game (created in 1995), big feuds every years :

95 : Adam Copeland (aka. Edge) & Christian Cage vs Chris Jericho & Lance Storm

96 : Rocky Maivia vs Christopher Daniels (for X title)

97 : Kurt Angle (w/ The Giant, Billy Kidman) vs Taz (w/ Raven, Daniels)

98 : Sting vs Shawn Michaels

99 : Raven's Nest (Raven, Daniels, HBK, K-Krush...) vs Wrestling's Tradition (Sting, Chris Candido, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage...)

Anyway, my biggest feud for a all year was on TEW 2005 for the year 2010, from Against All Odds (February) to Bound for Glory (October) between Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe (and AJ Styles since July).

Greg Gauge vs. Matty Keith (ft. Sam Keith & Christian Faith)- 2014

This is a continuation of 2013 where Greg and Matty took the tag team division by storm, remaining undefeated, and coming under the wing of Christian Faith, all of whom were heels. He continued to do so and they even began to make subtle reference to the Sam. Who eventually debuted in 2014. He cut a promo about Faith warping his kids minds and over the next weeks he tried to make his son see sense. The 2 agree to a match where the loser would have to sign a contract to never wrestle again. This match built with attacks and brawls while Matty seemed dejected not as involved as Greg. This built until Faith beat Keith in a Steel Cell Match with help from Greg using a piledriver on a chair.

After that match Greg and Christian continued to destroy Keith, they set up for Matty but he turned face helping his dad using the chair and legitimising himself by beating up Christian Faith.

This feud then became 2 vs 2 (but Sam isn't allowed to wrestle) It then focuused on Christian Faith vs. Matthew Keith where Keith promised to to what Faith did to Sam and end his career. is led to a huge match on PPV between Faith and Matty Keith in which Keith won. This meant Faith had to retire.

The feud then focussed on The Twins who went back and forth and met at the Declaration Of Independence PPV. Where they battled to a 1hhr time limit draw. We had to wait 2 months for the next match but Matty beat Greg in a match which like Sam Keith vs. Christian Faith earlier in the year was Steel Cell. This was a risk with the obvious comparisons it would draw but they tore the house down, better the old gens match and really pushing them as a new generation capable of producing amazing matches. Matty came out on top in a match where one persons 0 had to go, Matty remained undefeated and became the champion after a tournament when Human Arsenal was (kayfabe) injured by Eric Eisen and co. This built up until the biggest PPV in wrestling USPW Thanksgiving Thunder, for the title. Matty beat Greg again in a match which was rated 100.

The feud is still simmering, but the raging Toni "Champagne Lover" Ramoray has finally after month of what he deems as being screwed out of matches against Greg and Matty Keith takes on the over 200 match undefeated Human Arsenal, where 2 undefeated records AND!!! The World Title is on the line.

my WWE 2011 game has a huge feud on both Raw and Smackdown

Raw- John Cena & Triple H

Cena turned heel on HHH during a tag match against The Miz and Alex Riley in February.

At Elimination Chamber, The Miz won the title from Cena. HHH attacked Cena after the match sparking their feud into life. The 2 met at Wrestlemania with HHH going over.

Extreme Rules both were in a 4 way for the WWE title which Miz retained (Ziggler was the other)

The 2 kept getting invovled in each other matches, including Cena costing HHH the #1 Contendership, Over the Limit tag match with HBK making a one of return against Cena and Truth (now a heel). The 2 had a one on one match at Capitol Punishment, in a singles match. Cena faced the new WWE champion Morrison and Miz at MITB. Cena won the title, and HHH attacked him backstage.

Finally they get to Summerslam, where the 2 face off for the WWE title in a Hell in the Cell match.

Over on Smackdown The Undertaker and Orton are feuding over the WHC since Mania when Taker made his retun after Orton's title match. They've feuded through out the summer, with the 2 meeting at Summerslam. Christian and Jericho have also been involved in the feud, Christian with a 2 month title run :-) (him and Y2J had a feud of their own for the title)

I've also had a long feud between Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan for the United States title.

In the diary I'm doing on the EWB forums, I have to say that it is John Morrison versus Christian over the World Heavyweight Championship, with Edge thrown in the mix. They have pretty much been feuding from June 2010 up until the current day (September 2010).
