"The Golden Age Part II"

Version 1.0

Start Date: December 1, 1988

* Another massive thank you has to go to the pic cutters, in particular Togg, MJStark and a Rock return mega pop for Michgcs on this one, the guy worked just as hard if not harder then myself to get this done.

* A number of contracts were deleted from WWF, the reason was either the worker wasn't working consistently enough to warrant an add or weren't important enough overall in consideration of the roster positions. In some cases workers were changed to Occasional Workers. For players who want to add those guys contracts anyway the list is as follows... (Please note doing this will throw the starting roster positions a little out of whack) WWF: Jeff Gaylord, Tim Patterson, Dale Veasey, Gene Ligon, Tom Stone, Sonny Rogers, Maxx Payne (as Darryl Peterson).

That was quick! :D Just downloaded and hope to get started this weekend. Maybe I'll be able to get Flair to come along with Windham, Tully and Arn to the WWF this time around and instead of Savage hiring Zeus, he hires the Horsemen to try and help him take out Hogan.

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaaand... Dirty White Girl is STILL set to Male.

Wow, got to love gamefront as a download service. Really fast. Of course the files are microscopic but still fast.

And if this is my last allowed post on here, thank you Genadi for making such amazing mods for all of us to enjoy. They are truly awesome to play. Wish someone was paying you for them or acknowledging the impact they've made on GDS. Hopefully these mods will be around for a really long time for everyone to enjoy. Happy modding and "What now Sheldon!":p

I guess I'm still allowed to post so I'm not going anywhere yet. I'm not allowed to say why as the opinion police are watching my every post. Looking forward to playing this mod some today. Thanks again Genadi. I would say you're #1, but again the opinion police won't like that so I won't.;)

Looking awesome as always, Genadi!

Quick question - is there a reason Nelson Knight is so popular? He starts off in the 40's all over the US, which seems high compared to guys like Callous and Foley who'd been around a few years by this point. Just wondering.

To be fair someone like that would always be over/popular wherever they debuted because they would be unique and an instant "monster" opponent... heels would be scared and faces would be mown down by him... In Knight/Vis/Mabel's case he had solid charisma from day one... guys like Callous and Foley did not have that overt charisma until they settled into their gimmicks...

I can't say anything about Viscera/Mabel, but I will add that as a CWA/USWA weekly watcher from 1980-close that I never remembered Callous or Mick being in there so they obviously didn't have that much popularity. Austin on the other hand I had pegged for super-stardom from the first time I saw him. Never could understand why nobody booked him well until he finally came up with his own gimmick and took off like a rocket.

IIRC, weren't Callous and Mick gone right before World Class was changed to being the Texas portion of the USWA? And I could've sworn that I saw Callous appear on at least one USWA show, albeit for the Texas portion of it that ran out of the Sportatorium.

Yeah, Callous wrestled for USWA. I have Austin's professional debut (under the name Steven Williams) against Callous (wrestling as The Punisher). It was in USWA.

He was one of the batch of guys I imported from a mod where he'd debuted already. There'll prob be a few more of those guys set with pop like that, please let me know and I'll fix.

Those guys aren't intended to start with any pop.

Sorry I've been a lil slow on replying and stuff this week guys, a bit snowed under atm but should be back on track in the near future :)

great sequel pack. I rolled it back to august so I could do summerslam with mega powers vs mega bucks. Had to edit some peoples debuts and WCW/USWAs but I love it.

One thing and I dont know if its been mentioned. Blackjack Lanza in WWF is linked to blackjack mulligan's pic. It was that way in 1987 too. Not a huge issue but maybe something to take care of down the road.

why is it that for WCW I have to buy the tv title and us tag team titles? If WCW has been using them, why do I have to still buy them? I know its a WCW buying out Jim Crockett but they really didn't change the names of the belts till '90 or '91.

also why is there a nwa us title and a wcw us title?

This can be filed under "Things that have to be done this way because of how the game works". Yes, they didn't officially break from the NWA until 91, but there is no way to have the AI do that and the player won't either. So, this is the compromise. Frankly, I wish the belts weren't in there at all because I felt very dirty when I bought the TV title as WWF.;)

Basically, those belts are the ones that Turner had to create when the NWA demanded their belts back. Just pretend that the NWA ones don't exist.

So I'm loving WCW in this Mod. I'm currently in Jan. of 1989. My Major stor I am setting up is The Kings of Wrestling (Ric flair, Dusty Rhodes, Eddie Gilbert (Dusty's Protege), and Shane Douglas (Flairs Protege)) Going Against the team of Sting, Ron Simmons, Lex Luger, and Stan Lane (Haven't decided the name of their stable yet.) I plan on having KoW dominate WCW for a few years like the NWO did later on in WCW, but also keep it fresh as in new members, members being droped maybe a Flair or Dusty face turn far down the road (Dusty more likly than Flair.)

What you guys think of this storyline, and what should the name of Stings stable be?

yeah I understand what happened in 91 but I thought that turner just renamed the belts because the history of the tv & us titles remained after they got renamed. I know the world title & tag titles separated but the rest I figured turner had since I never heard the nwa tv or us titles again.
