I've always wanted to do a TEW diary, especially with the CornellVerse 2. I've always enjoyed playing Backyard to Global on EWR, so I though it might be a good time to start with TEW; Local - Global 3. I've always enjoyed and wanted to organise a diary which involved other people and hopefully turned readers into participants. The concept of this diary is a local to global diary which would give the readers a chance to get involved by being able to create their own character - hopefully unique experience as this goes from just being a local to global to somewhat of a watcher's game too, featuring all of the rivalries, failures, successes and politics along the way. The informational concerning IWA is just below and the application form will be posted in the next post. So without further ado.... International Wrestling Association Info Owner: William McCarthy Head Booker: Samuel McCarthy Location: Great Lakes Product: Traditional Mainstream Size: Local Money: $0 Prestige: 0 Momentum: 0 Key: Traditional and Mainstream Heavy: - Medium: Cult and Modern Match Ratio: 70% Match Intensity: 20% Match Danger: 40% T&A: None Women's Wrestling: None Face/Heel Divide: Medium - Wrestlers rated equally on Performance and popularity - Fans except all workers to be packaged with a proper gimmick - Will attract fans who don't like high risk gimmicks - Will attracts who like simple gimmicks - Will attract fans who don't like subtle gimmicks - Fans will expect storylines to follow - Will prevent IWA from getting an afternoon TV deal on some stations - Is quite favorable towards getting sponsorship - Will not be rocked by industry changes - "Young Lion" system will not take into effect Roster - TBA
SeanMcG
This is the application form. It's unfortunately a bit on the long and extensive side () but that is for good reason, as it is hopefully detailed enough for extensive customisation and unique character or for people to join up and to understand the skills and new features of character creation if they are new to TEW. Regardless, I would be grateful if people would sign up as it would make this diary a much more enjoyable experience Application Form Basic Info Name: Short Name: Alter Ego(s): Age: (18 – 30) Mask: (Y/N) Hair: (Yes/Bald) Picture (Not Required): Gender: (M/F) Race: (White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, American Indian, Middle Eastern, Indian, Pacific) Nationality: Wrestling Style (Pick One): Regular, Entertainer, Puroresu, Spot Monkey, Luchador, Cruiserweight, Japanese Junior, Technician, MMA Crossover, Brawler, Psychopath Finishing Move: Size: • Small (Unusually small male wrestlers or female wrestlers eg. If so, fill out either (Very Low/Low/Average/ High/ Very High/ Extreme) according to how much it is/was/now is a part of your wrestler’s life. • Smoking • Excessive Drinking • Hard Drug Use • Soft Drug Use • Steroid Use • Law Problems • Religion Personality Which of the following personalities suits your wrestler? (Select One) • Perfectly Balanced • Random • Normal Wrestler • Class Act • Jerk • Egomaniac Star • Grizzled Veteran • Free Spirit • Company Man • Party Animal • Rookie • Master Politician Gimmick Which is your wrestler’s preferred role to play? (Select one) - Face - Heel - Tweener - No Bias Which of the following gimmick categories is your wrestler’s preferred/least preferred gimmicks? (Pick two, one prefer and another not) - Cool (Usually a calm, laid back character eg. Rock Star, Suave, Surfer) - C0cky (Commonly features an over-confident or arrogant character eg. C0cky Youth, Evolution, Chosen One) - Crazy (Usually an insane or out-of-control character eg. Psycho, Vigilantly, Wild Man) - Legitimate (The character is usually based from the wrestler’s legitimate (or fake) background eg. Legitimate Athlete, Martial Artist, Street Fighter, Straight Edge) - Comedy (The character is used for laughs or comic relief eg. Clowns, Cartoon Characters) - Gimmicky (The character is based off an unreal stereotype or fantasy eg. Evil Dentist, Deadman, Rich Businessman, Cowboy) - Weasel (Usually a weasel character would be a cowardly, two faced character eg. Censor, The Brain, Sports Agent) - Brute (Usually used for characters that use their size and their power to dominate others eg. Bully, Giant, Bodyguard, Biker) - Weird (The character is just a weird, odd person eg. Cult Leader, Split Personality, Weirdo) - Wholesome (The character portrays an fan-friendly “good guy” image eg. Patriot, Old School Face, Fan Favourite) - Realistic (Characters based on real people or normal views eg. Bad Ass, Franchise Player, Ice Man, Gangsta. - Unique (Characters that don’t fall under any or just one description eg. Authority Figure, Man on a Mission, Loose Cannon) Skills: Each skill has a value between 0 and 100, with 0 being absolutely no skill and 100 being mastering a skill. I have broken up all of the important skills that are needed and have placed them into several separate groups, based on how they interact. “Group A” The Specialist Group The following eight skills can help define your wrestler’s style and are the main “skill-wise” impact on a match’s rating. Each wrestler will be given up to 450 points to distribute in the following skills. Any points that are unwanted to be used in this category can be added to the next. Brawling: The wrestler’s skill in brawling based matches Puroresu: The wrestler’s skill in “Strong Style” matches Hardcore: The wrestler’s skill in weapon based matches Aerial: The wrestler’s skill in fast paced or high flying matches Flashiness: The wrestler’s skill in adding extra flash and excitement into a match Mat Work: The wrestler’s skill in using a mat wrestling style Chain Wrestling: The wrestler’s skill in chain wrestling (Holds and counter holds) Submissions: The wrestler’s skill in the use of submissions and submission wrestling. “Group B” The Entertainment Skills In the wrestling world, much like any other form of entertainment business, popularity is king and these next seven skills can help your wrestler get popular faster than others. For example Wrestler A is considered to be the best technical wrestler in the world, but he may never become a star as he may not have the charisma, menace or star quality need to gain and retain popularity easily so it may take him significantly longer (Chris Benoit, Bryan Danielson). Wrestler B however may be barely passable in the ring, yet is a superstar due to his sheer charisma and skills to connect with the crowd in a short amount of time (Hulk Hogan, The Rock). Of course in the perfect world, it would be ideal to have both great in-ring skills and entertainment skills, but this is rarely achieved straight away (Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho). Each wrestler will be given 400 points to distribute between the following skills. As before any points that are unwanted to be used in this category can be added to the next. Microphone: The wrestler’s skill in using the microphone for interviews or other purposes Charisma: The wrestler’s natural charisma, the ability to connect to a crowd Acting: The wrestler’s skill in acting Announcing: The wrestler’s skill in colour commentary (In case anyone wanted to do play-by-play from time to time Sex Appeal: The wrestler’s physical looks and attractiveness Star Quality: The wrestler’s “X Factor”, “Superstar Look”. A higher rating means how easily the fans can consider and accept the wrestler as a major star. Menace: The wrestler’s natural menace. Very important for monster heels, bodyguards, bullies as the more menacing they look the more believable character they portray. Group “C” The Physical Skills These final 14 skills are your physical skills, these include stats such as your skill in basic training to how much stamina your wrestler has in the tank. Each wrestler will be given 800 points to spend on these skills, along with any additional points that have been carried over from the previous two groups. There will be no further carry over points after this group, so spend them wisely. Athleticism: The wrestler’s natural athleticism (Speed, Vertical Leap ect.) Toughness: How physically tough the wrestler is. Stamina: Determines how long the wrestler can perform for before running out of gas, resulting in a worse match. Certain, more intense match types may also be ill-advised for wrestlers with little to no stamina. Power: The wrestler’s physical strength. Basics: The wrestler’s skill in the core skills of wrestling (Footwork, bumping, running the ropes ect.) Psychology: The wrestler’s skill in how they can involve psychology into a match, tell a story in the ring. Wrestlers with high skill can also call their own matches in the ring. Safety: How safe the wrestler is to work with. A low rating would mean that they are a high risk to not only their opponent but also themselves. Consistency: How consistent the wrestler is in their performance. An extremely consistent wrestler would almost never have an “off-night” whilst a low rating may result in a wrestler rarely performing at their best. Selling: The wrestler’s ability to sell moves and matches. A low selling skill would result in “No Selling” moves and would bring the match down or look comical/unprofessional. Intensity: How intense the wrestler looks in the ring. Stiffness: How “stiff” the wrestler’s offense is. An extremely high rating would result in a hard hitting match-up, which may lead to injuries or a bad relationship with other workers. However, too little skill and the moves and strikes that the wrestler is performing will look fake, hurting the match rating. Resilience: How injury prone the wrestler is. A high rating would result in a wrestler being high durable, picking up fewer injuries if any than a less resilient wrestler. Refereeing: The wrestler’s skill in refereeing. MMA: The wrestler’s skill with incorporating MMA holds strikes and moves into a wrestling match. This is not an indication on how much skill that the wrestler has in MMA, so a high skill (or any) is somewhat unnecessary (unless wanted or for gimmick purposes). Harmor
Application Form Basic Info Name: Hatework Short Name: Hatework Alter Ego(s):- Age: 30 Mask: No (Yes if you use the CV pic I posted) Hair: Yes Picture (Not Required):http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/Harmor666/TEW/Hatework2.jpghttp://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/Harmor666/Shagrath.jpg ... One of the two, it's Shagrath btw, singer of Dimmu Borgir ^^ ... I know little of the C-Verse, I'm sure there's a suitable pic in the default folder too but I couldn't find any (most likely overlooked it). Hence why I chose this for the time being (as it is the one I kept using in the efed I was in). Edit: I found a picture and if it HAS to be a CV pic, use this one: http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/Harmor666/Scythe_alt.jpg Gender: M Race: White Nationality:Residing in the USA, born in Germany Wrestling Style (Pick One): Regular Finishing Move:Hatebomb (Jackknife Powerbomb) Size: • Heavyweights (305 lbs) Areas Active: Which of the following additional wrestling areas (If any) will your wrestler be active in (Be able to work in). USA is automatically active by default, as it is the base country of IWA. • Canada • Mexico • United Kingdom Personal Information: Hatework is a worker and a gimmick in itself - he hates everything "human" for the reason of imperfection, and calls himself the "singularity" because he has overcome the flaws of mankind - love, passion, desire, caring for one another. Such concepts are anathema to him, and all he knows is his hatred and despise for those he considers "lesser beings". If so, fill out either (Very Low/Low/Average/ High/ Very High/ Extreme) according to how much it is/was/now is a part of your wrestler’s life. • Smoking - Average (I smoke and Hatework is my old efed character so it's only realistic ^^) Personality Which of the following personalities suits your wrestler? (Select one) - Heel Which of the following gimmick categories is your wrestler’s preferred/least preferred gimmicks? (Pick two, one prefer and another not) - Cool is least preferred, with comedy being a close second. - Crazy - most preferred if it contains a gimmick like Evil Incarnate - Gimmicky - see crazy, where I think Intelligent Psycho is more likely a category to fall under (I had set him to Evil Incarnate before but Int. Psycho works better) - Weird - or this one? Sorry, basically one of those, I'll have you pick and reckon you'll find the perfect fit. Blake Trask
Well seeing as this is a local to global endeavor, at some point we're going to need to be world class guys or else we're not going to be at all involved... Erm, not exactly. That's like saying that every guy on the roster of a global company has to be as good as Tommy Cornell. One of the best young talents in the game is Wolf Hawkins - a main eventer in the second biggest company in America, and he hasn't got 80s in a lot of stats. You've got a pretty skewed idea of 'involved' if you think that means that somebody has to be able to main event, or if you think that it's necessary to be world class to be relevant. As well as that, you've got the fact that at the ages most of these guys are, the majority of them are going to improve a fair bit over their careers. Starting out too awesome takes away something from the player. Oh and... the more out of proportion the workers' skills are (some of these guys would just not be working for a local promotion), the more likely they are to get stolen anyway. . Not knocking on anybody's choices or going 'OVERPOWERED', just saying that extra points certainly aren't needed.

I think an extra 100 SP in “Group C” would help tremendously, but that’s just my opinion.) If anything I'd say we have too many, check out how many C-verse guys have stats anywhere near as good as your guy in psychology and the technical skills. Cool idea, will sign up later on! SeanMcG
Update Firstly Wow. I come back after one day and find that there is already 14 applicants along with 3 placeholders for the future, along with five others on the EWB forums. That's already more than I ever expected Secondly, I've started to add all of the characters to the new database (just cloned the CV). So far I' have done some testing and I'm roughly half done with the character creation, which is naturally taking a bit of time due to the customisation and unique characters involved. Thirdly I'll give a few answers and feedback to unasked questions SWF Fan: I've got a feeling that Jefferson Hall won't want to stick around IWA for long . During my testing, discovered that despite having no popularity he would refuse negotiations with me (Which meant I had to change my idea of actually hiring people in-game, rather than have to manually assign each and every single wrestler for the same wage, length and details). I am terrified that he would leave IWA for CZCW or something, especially as he would be perfect for them, thus leaving me behind..... BTW Initial contract details are the following: - $50, Pay Per Appearance for 12 months, (yeah it's a bit cheap, but I'm sure you will all find other work + hopefully IWA with be a small company when it's time to resign and besides, there is currently 18-19 workers already, not including referees, other wrestlers and staff so it wouldn't be good if the company bankrupted within the first few months ) Harmor: I love the character and the back story provide helps me with an in-sight in what Hatework is about. I can't wait use him, especially with all that brawling and menace- what a monster. 20Legend: An entertainment machine behind a mask? With a positive personality?!?! It's a gift that keeps on giving. Kijar: Hmmm, IWA's first person with an "100" "Group A" skill, aerial no less. Combine that with Vince's 95 submission skill kind of interested to see how he will go. jkicon: Firstly, I love the name, it's got that star feel, wait "Icon" feel more like it. Plus the fact that he is a big man who can go in the ring who has a great personality (for me:p) is always good. 1234: So we have the first of what I assume many () negative influences. An MMA crossover that likes to party, (I hear cocaine is a hell of a drug ) who also is bit stiff on the holds and strikes and is only moderately safe in the ring? I pity the opponent who has to face Akira when he is drunk or high if he were to apply his Kimura This should be entertaining to say the least. OctoberRaven: I've got three things to say - That is an epically unique gimmick - "Slay Ride" is possible the greatest move name I've heard in regards towards relating the move's name to the character's gimmick - 95 Menace is fantastic John Waylon: I'm a sucker for wrestlers with the moniker of "The Outlaw", such a bad-ass name. I'll make sure to take in account what you said about John's gimmick, being a cross between "Bionic Redneck and Ultimate Opportunist". A quick note, with the character creation points. I had wanted to give enough points to allow some customisation among everybody, but I was also wary in not wanting to give too many points out, taking away the reward and long-term enjoyment of character progression and development. While it is true that IWA lacks a "Tommy Cornell, Wrestling God-esk" person, we are only backyard and as we expend (and assuming that your character hasn't gone somewhere else or worse, development ) I will continue to help your character develop by forming teams, bring better skilled workers in and other things to help out. Blake Trask: Murlough Strock is something that I've never ever had the luxury of having in previous TEW games, a face big man who is marketable and decent in the ring. I pray that he doesn't get an ego Rick Savant: What's with these Japanese people and there bad attitudes and problems . The problem though, is that they are seriously talented and marketable as well, which puts me in a dilemma. Tom Bombadil: Hmm, Bombadil kind of reminds me of Shawn Michaels post back injury, being religious and all that jazz yet still a talent in the ring. ChrisKid: I'm sort of tempted to use Adam Taywo as the "The Nigirian Prince". Mainly because it's an awesome gimmick but also since decent foreign royalty heels don't grow on trees, regardless on how they act backstage.... Eidenhoek: Interesting character, possibly the best "in-ring" at the expense of his entertainment skills, also extremely religious which most likely means that he will be vocal with any decisions that I do BTW IWA-MS, sounds like some loser promotion will no money, momentum, popularity or prestige, that's nothing like IWA, we're International!.....(one day ) BTW I can't pay you in cash, but I can pay you with good intentions. You can live off good intentions right? (A mid-card title run for the person who can guess the reference) Edit- IWA has no titles, let alone a mid-card title yet but the prize is, nothing really Erm, not exactly. Pretty much spot on with the point distribution. TheEffect: Ok the last of the applicants so-far (unless someone else signed up whilst I typed up this wall of text. I personally love the idea of a silent, tweener machine whom picks off his opponents without warning. I'm also a bit surprised that your wrestler has such a high skill in refereeing (I'm not sure if it's intentional or not but anyway in that's the case, I may have to use him as a referee as he builds his skills up (Hell, that actually fits the description of your gimmick and could be used as a storyline starter, guest referee ambushes a future rival in an import match ect.) Well that's it for now, I'm going to finish up a few more characters, get some sleep and finish the rest off tomorrow as I've got a day off () and nothing really to do. Hopefully a few more people will sign up and I'll get this diary started in a few days time.
TheEffect
I was thinking that he could have the back-story of being like a referee before being a wrestler or also in storyline terms if possible?
