Two small problems noticed

Recommended Posts

I noticed before and someone mentioned it that everytime you click on a player on any screen the wrong player card comes up. So, what ever the link is between the name and actually player card probably needs to be looked at. The other thing is the kickoffs. Does anyone else notice the kickoff returns being rather short in length. Most of the time teams are starting out at between the 10-15 yard line. How often does that reallty happen? Maybe it is just the returners but I am noticing this with most returners regardless of ratings. Also, there sure are alot of missed field goals especially almost all 40+ yarders and short (chip shots)10-20yarders.

Fg's seem very realistic, in fact it seems as if there are home field advantages built in for fg's, is this true? As for kickoffs, It does seem a bit odd, Not unusually strange however. I usually start out with poor teams with nothing spectacular as a kick returner. I occasionally break a decent one but the majority I am inside the 15. I guess I am not certain how often bad teams are pinned inside the 15 in real life, I wouldnt assume not as much as on the game, however I am confident that once a find a decent returner this will no longer effect me. I suppose if Arlie wanted to portray realism it could be adjusted a bit, if he wants a team to have to earn good field position through recruiting that angle would work too.
I noticed before and someone mentioned it that everytime you click on a player on any screen the wrong player card comes up.
This problem only happens to me on the depth chart screen and when I go back to the roster screen and then come back it disappears, for a little while. I know Arlie replied to this but couldn't replicate the error. I think there might be a stability issue with the program that manifests itself in different ways for different people. Shoot, I've seen different dynasties do different mistakes.

I had a strange issue come up with FG that made me wonder if Kickers have a choke rating. :) My Kicker is a returning all-MWC 1st teamer and probably one of my best players at this point. Anyway, he nails his first 5 kicks of the Season, 2 of them better than 50 yards. In game three I am taken to OT by Houston and after they kick a field goal to go up 23-20 we drive to the 18 and get stopped. No problem, I have Johnny Supertoe and a 35 yarder is a chipshot for him.................Well he lines up, the snap and the kick falls short!!! WTF!!! As pissed off as it made me, it is another cool thing about College Football this game does so well.......you can never take anything for granted. I don't know if there is any type of clutch rating or not in the game, but if so my Kicker is a friggin 0!!!

My kickoff returns seem a little poor. I have a 70 return guy, but he's just not that good (could be his surrounding players stink). On the other hand, my punt return guy is pretty darn good. The AI returners seem great. I can't complain about the kicking game. My first year he seemed OK. Second year, he's right in the running for the Groza. 7 games in he's 14 of 15 on FGs (only miss was his first kick and it was blocked). Perfect on PATs.
