A Few Thoughts/Suggestions

I am really enjoying the game and think it is well worth the money. Here are a few suggestions I have for the recruiting aspect: 1. Increase the number of scholarships to 85 (the number the NCAA allows in the real world). 2. Allow more than 5 visitors per week - once again, in the real world it's not uncommon to have 10 - 20 visitors on a big weekend. 3. Be able to designate a certain number of prospects each week that the head coach can make in-house visits to - this would be a great way to try and "close" recruits.

I understand what you are saying regarding recruiting issues. I really like your 3rd option of being able to designate a certain number each week that the head coach can make in-house visits; but I think it should come from your total number of recruiting of five. I am not in favor of increasing the number of scholarships to 85 due to it severely favors the large colleges in the area of getting additional creme of the crop players. I am not in favor of allowing more than 5 visitors per week due to it again favors the large colleges to get players. I think the large colleges get enough of the creme of the crop players as it is the way it is now. I have played coaching Southern Cal and Michigan and have developed some decent recruiting to those schools. I have also played coaching UNLV, North Texas, Akron and Utah State. These programs and other programs like theirs get brutally beat up during the recruiting phase as it is. I think Grey Dog Software actually took this point into account when coming up with the features they currently have. I am thinking about starting a multi-player setup where everyone will have to go to one of the worst five schools from the previous season or to one of the Non-BCS conferences such as the WAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt, Conference USA, Atlantic Ten or MAC to play. Not sure exactly yet how, but thinking about it. That way if you want to have a power house of a college to coach at, you will have to earn your way to coach that team.

Kokopelli: You make some good points on the scholarship numbers. My reasoning for wanting to increase them had more to do with being able to build a full roster to where I can generally redshirt freshmen and build more depth. I've only played two seasons, but in both cases I had positions where my two deep did not have enough scholarship players, so I had to move players around to fill the roster. This obviously made these positions weak and if I had any injuries I couldn't even field two players who this was their natural position. I think if you did increase the scholarship number to 85 then you would have to increase the allowed visitors per week. I also think you would have to increase the player pool and thus create more talent to go around. I would envision the coaches in-house visits being 5 per week.
