No cheating

Recommended Posts

I agree with dreamscape on this one. In fact I posted a question to Arlie about that much earlier. I asked if there was the opportunity to run a renegade program in which you could entice highly rated players with money, cars, easy grades, etc. He thought it would be interesting but not part of this version.
that takes away from the sim opportunity and you spend too much time trying to "cheat" and thinking about paying off recruits and not actually recruiting. Sounds like an arcade game as I said, no fun unless you like wrasslin' and think thats real.
You mean wrasslin' isnt real ?........................

It's just another strategy with risk involved. If you want the extra edge on a recruit then it's on you to accept the risk of probation. I think this could be taken a step further into academics and pay off teachers to fix grades or pay students to take tests for your players. You would be free to go for it, but you incur significant risk of getting caught and losing bowl games and scholarships.

Both sides have valid arguments but I am going to have to take Tim's side on this one. Athough cheating, is 'probably' a huge part in recruiting, it is not actually part of the rules. It would be similiar IMO to play NBA live on EA Sports with no goaltending on or turning the out of bounds option to off. It just makes cheating and mastering the game that much easier. Besides, how could you accurately reflect how much or how often teams cheat and get caught cheating to a real life simulation. Ive played TCY, and the option is there and if you use it once a year you usually wont get any infractions so you save it for a 5* recruit, if you use it again you will get warned and sometimes get sanctions. To me it makes the same amount of sense to just recruit a person you want harder and if you fail you fail. Thats more of an accurate simulation, than Ark St bribing a 5* recruit into playing for them.

I never played TCY, but I wouldn't mind seeing this feature. If it ever were implemented, there should be variation in the response of the university. If you are caught cheating at a prestigious academic school, the chances of the coach being fired should be greater than they would be at an athletic powerhouse with average academics. It definately should be a feature that can be turned off.
