mkpeak
My star player just declared for the draft after his true Freshman season. Unless I'm mistaken a player must be a minimum of 2 years removed from high school before he can be draft eligible.

mkpeak
Question Will this patch fix the issue for existing careers/saved game or only for new careers/games? Thanks, -Kevin

mkpeak
Thanks Cool...good thing I made a back-up copy before advancing to coach offers...I got a little paranoid after loosing both my OC & DC after my first season.
Arlie Rahn
You need to load a game from prior to advancing the offseason in order to get the fix. The process of advancing is what adds the players to the potential list.
DoctorJ
Actually the NCAA rule is they cannot declare until 3 years after graduating HS.
Munster
This is true...so even after the fix, why are sophomores still declaring?
Munster
And freshman (after their freshman season), for that matter?
SkyDog
I haven't seen anyone younger than a Junior declare since the patch. Odd.

Munster
How, Tim? What I've got right now is my "Potential Declaring Underclassmen" e-mail, which shows a whole bunch of rising sophomores threatening to declare.
Emiliano
Munster is right, sophomores are declaring. The problem is they are listed as juniors because the game advances in the off-season; but they've played only 2 seasons of college ball. Huckleberry
Good catch. The draft or not decision is made after the players' year classification is progressed. The engine needs to allow only redshirt juniors and all seniors to declare. I'm going to assume that these guys didn't all go to prep school for a year. ;) Even then, that is a lot of players declaring after their redshirt sophomore season. Very few players declare after only two seasons of playing time. And the OG and DT declaring after two seasons of playing time is almost unheard of, especially the OG. Guards rarely declare early at all as they aren't drafted very high. Tackles are a different story.
Emiliano
Bump I'm not sure Arlie noticed this... Also, I think this could be moved to the tech support area.
Munster
So...Tim...was this addressed in the 1.02 patch, or is there a "fix" thread where you would like me to post this issue for 1.03? (I know I've got guys declaring illegally early in 1.02, but I don't know whether or not that was locked in prior to the patch install and won't happen again.) Tim Plum
Arlie addressed early the declare early issue in 1.02. unfortunately it looks as though it didn't catch all the possibilities.
