benjacko
It was December 2005 and there had been a few changes to the face of WWE. There would now be 3 TV Shows which would be Monday Night RAW, Friday Night Smackdown & Saturday Night Main Event, with the latter being a cross brand show where matches requested by the millions and millions of WWE fans have the chance of happening. A new overall booker named Ben Jackson, who has had sucess in the world of soap drama as well as being a writer and booker in several south-coast promotions, had been brought in to help continue the previous success of the company and also continue to bring exciting and innovative sports entertainment and wrestling to the fans. Eric Bischoff has been removed from his position as RAW General Manager with Vince McMahon taking over till a replacement has been found with fans speculating on many contenders for the job. There had many people promoted from OVW and DSW to the Main Roster along with the arrival of several promising female wrestlers from the wrestling world to the RAW brand to increase the competition in the Women's division. The number of people brought upto the main roster helped to add several much needed teams to the Tag Team division and there was also new tag teams involving current established WWE Superstars. What effect will this new booker have on the company? how much patience with Mr McMahon have with him? and willaah Triple Haah everaah stopaah sayingaah wordsaah withaah aah afteraah themaah? benjacko
RAW Brief Background Kurt Angle continued to try every trick in the book along with Daivari over the past few weeks to finally take the WWE Heavyweight Title from Cena but everytime Angle got one over Cena, Cena would find a way to even up the scores, including a huge FU on Daivari straight onto the announcing table. It all came down to a huge WWE Heavyweight Title match at Survivor Series and with Vince having banned Daivari from being ringside after having enough of Kurt's whining, the odds turned in Cena's favour. Despite Angle hitting 3 Angle Slams and locking in the Ankle Lock twice, Cena somehow managed to keep either kicking out or reaching the ropes. The finish came when Angle went for a fourth Angle Slam but Cena slide out the back and hoisted Angle in a firemans carry and hit the FU on him. Cena then added insult to injury by locking in the STFU leaving Angle no choice but to tap out as Cena retained his title. The feud between Triple H and Ric Flair hasn't looked like stopping, with a debuting CM Punk deciding to capitalise on it as he challenged Ric Flair to a WWE Intercontinental Title match on RAW saying that even Ric in his prime could never compare with the greatness of him. Ric Flair taught Punk a wrestling lesson as he dominated virtually all the match and was about to lock in the Figure Four Leglock for the victory when Triple H ran down to the ring with a chair in his hands. Flair went over to the ropes and both of them started trading verbals, when Punk sneaked up behind Flair and rolled him up for the three count and became the new champion. A clearly pleased HHH ran off backstage, followed by Flair who got to the car park but HHH was nowhere to be seen. HHH jumped Flair from behind, beating him into a bloody mess and then put him into the back of the trunk of a nearby car. Probably in one of the most shocking moments in WWE history, fans then witnessed HHH attach Flair to the back of his car bumper by a rope and dragged him along the road. Paramedics rushed to the scene to find Flair soaked in blood and clearly with serious injuries. HHH stood over Flair's body and told him that he was only doing it for his own good and is was time that the real greatest wrestler of all-time took his rightful place in history. Kane And The Big Show have remained unstoppable WWE World Tag Team champions beating all comers including the tag team of Gene Snitsky and Tyson Tomko. Despite this, there seems to be something not right between them as they seem to be not reading from the same page of late with there being obvious tension between them. Trish Stratus is still WWE Women's champion despite Victoria's best efforts but Mickie James has been looking impressive in the ring lately. It's clear that this has started to annoy Trish as James is looking a big threat to her title so it remains to be seen how long Trish will tolerate James for. Shelton Benjamin has only recently come off a big losing streak after finally winning at Survivor Series against Carlito. Carlito taunted Benjamin about the amount of losses he had been having recently on the RAW before Survivor Series saying that if he was as cool as him, then he'd never lose. Carlito cheated his way to victory over Benjamin the same night on RAW but Vince McMahon made a re-match at Survivor Series. Benjamin pulled out the win when he hit the T-Bone suplex for the three count and pinfall. In a complete change of character though, Benjamin then viciously attacked Carlito with a chair after the match only for HBK to run down for the save and he tried to hit Sweet Chin Music on him but Benjamin ducked and hit Michaels with his own version of a super kick to leave HBK down and out in the middle of the ring. Chris Masters has been unstoppable since October beating various established works including Val Venis and Rosey. Masters would have to you believe this was due to his physique and wrestling ability but he's been attacking his opponents before their matches to soften them up for the easy victories. How long The Masterpiece's luck holds out though is the main question at the moment as it's almost certain his Ego will get in the way eventually. Trevor Murdoch has been looking good since splitting from Lance Cade with a couple of decent victories in the past couple of weeks. He's now declared he's got his eyes set on winning some gold and it doesn't matter who is thrown at him, he's going to do what a Texas prize bull does and that's mow down anything that gets in his way. Having scrapped his Kerwin White character, Chavo Guerrero has returned to his roots since the sad death of his cousin Eddie Guerrero (RIP 1967-2005). Chavo has been nicely building up momentum with several victories on both HEAT and RAW recently and with the management only having good things to say about about him, surely it's only a matter of time before there's more gold to be added to the history of the Guerrero wrestling family. Smackdown Brief Background After supposedly killing off the Undertaker, Randy Orton turned his attention to taking the WWE World Heavyweight Title away from Batista. The long running feud didn't just involve them as Bob Orton Jr and Paul Burchill helped out Randy Orton and Mick Foley helped out Batista to even up the sides. It all came to a head at Survivor Series when Batista put the title up against Randy Orton. They battled back and forth for over 20 minutes, with Orton insisting he didn't need any help from his Dad or Paul Burchill as he could beat Batista on his own. Orton looked to be proven right as he hit the RKO on Batista and went for the pin but Batista kicked out, throwing Orton halfway across the ring. Batista then hit a huge spinebuster and Batista Bomb on a shocked Orton for the win to show everyone exactly why's he the champion. After the US Title was vacated, Theodore Long booked a Best Of 7 series between Booker T and Chris Benoit. Despite Booker T leading 3-0 at one point, Chris Benoit battled back to level it at 3-3 which lead to the big deciding match for the title at Survivor Series. It was probably the match of the night as both men hit their best moves including a death defying diving headbutt onto Booker on the announcing table by Benoit. The end came when Booker caused Benoit to collide with the referee, which allowed Sharmell to throw a steel chair into the ring which Booker picked up and swung straight at Benoit's head but he ducked and kicked the chair out of Booker's hands. Benoit smacked Booker across the right shoulder with the chair several times and then locked in the Cripple Crossface, just as the Referee recovered, with Booker being unable to take the pain so had to tap out making Benoit the winner and the new US champion. MNM had been bragging about taking the WWE Tag Team titles from LOD and that they couldn't be beaten again. Theodore Long booked a 4-Way tag team match to decide the number one contenders to MNM which involved LOD, The Dicks, The Jablonski Brothers and The Shane Twins. LOD pulled out the victory after Animal cleared house, leaving only Chad Dick in the ring. Animal called for the Doomsday Device as he hoisted Chad onto his shoulders and Heidenreich hit the flying clothesline for the victory. MNM tried all kind of dirty tricks at the next Smackdown before Theodore Long booked them in a WWE Tag Team Title match that night against LOD. Despite MNM isolating Heidenreich for most of the match, once Animal was tagged in, it was the beginning of the end for MNM. Animal nearly took Johnny Nitro's head off with a running flying clothesline and then hit a powerful running powerslam on Joey Mercury. Melina jumped up on the ring apron and tried to seduce Animal but he wasn't having none of it and dragged her into the ring. He then hoisted her up on his shoulders and Heidenreich hit the flying clothesline, leaving her down and out. As Johnny Nitro dragged Melina out of the ring and checked on her on the outside, LOD hit another Doomsday device on Mercury for the easy pin so LOD regained the titles. Juventud was fired for repeated late arrivals to the Smackdown tapings so his contract was terminated. This left a problem as it meant the WWE Cruiserweight Title had to be vacated, which led to Theodore Long announcing a 10 man over the top battle royal would be held at Survivor Series to crown a new champion. Paul London and a returning Jamie Knoble were the last two left with Knoble winning after London ran off the ropes and tackled Knoble, taking them both over the top rope but somehow Knoble managed to hold on as London went crashing down on the outside. Rey Mysterio has been quiet of late but there are rumours going around that he's in for a major push with a possible title reign coming his way. Ken Kennedy has been on a huge winning streak beating all comers, although this is mainly due to Kennedy attacking his opponents backstage before the matches leading to the easy wins. Bobby Lashley has been demolishing opponents in minutes with the monster former amateur wrestler looking extremely impressive and seemingly unstoppable. Continuing his father's legacy, Harry Smith signed with WWE and debuted on Smackdown as The British Bulldog saying that he was going to honor his father by winning the biggest prize in wrestling, the WWE World Heavyweight Title which his father never managed to win in his illustrious career. The Undertaker returned at Survivor Series and made it clear that he is the one that does the killing and it was time for Randy Orton to be taken straight to hell. It will be extremely interesting to see what The Undertaker will have in store for Orton in the coming weeks.
