Players still leaving early and a few thoughts

Recommended Posts

Still a big problem with recruits leaving early. I have 4 guys listed as considering entry to the draft and 3 of them have only put in 2 years. Those 3 all came in as freshman the same year. They were a QB(4.5/5), RB(5/5), FS(4.0/5). Simming ahead all 3 did leave. That career will have to be put on hold until that is fixed. On a little different note, I have had a few years where a postition or 3 were completely baren of recruits interested in my school. If fact I believe I didnt see any WRers with interest above a 6 for the first 3 years of my career. Im not sure if that was what the patch meant to fix or not, but I thought I would mention it. Playing as Michigan and coming off some good seasons it seemed odd. Also it would be nice to see some hints on whether a player would accept a redshirt or not. I realize 5* guys dont want to redshirt, but it seems like everytime I have redshirted players rated 2.0/4.0 they transfer. A combination of that and my propensity to bring in small recruiting classes has caused me to hardly ever redshirt. Along the same lines, I think transfers as a whole could be *slightly* toned down. I would think that most 4* players would be willing to spend a year or maybe even two as 2nd string. Why even come to my school when they know a great player ahead of them has a year or two left? Perhaps a message during recruiting telling me that the player needs to play right away would help. How about an option to add players to a different position group on the depth chart? As I mentioned I had a problem with depth at WR. Considering I had 2 great recieving RBs I would have rather put one of them as a backup WR than the 1.5/2.5 guys I had playing. Trying a conerback out at WR would also be fun. A save as option would be a welcome addition. I would love to be able to take a different job but save it under a different name. Then I could go back and finish coaching my original players sometime in the future. All in all I am really enjoying the game, so great job. Players leaving after their sophomore is a big problem, but the others are things that frustrate/puzzle me and IMO can be improved. Rich
Were any of the players that left as Sophs redshirted? If they were redshirted, then leaving after their Soph season is correct.
Yep, 3 years out of highschool is the rule, and no, no redshirts were handed out. The QB even won several awards including Big 10 freshman of the year. Here is his info from clicking on him in the boxscore of his final game. Im sure you can see why I need him to stay(plus I have no backup since I was not expecting this). Well Id like to play with it turned on, but id like to know if this will be fixed. My problem isnt with them leaving, the problem is with them leaving a year earlier that they should be able to. A player straight out of high school can not declare for the draft until after his Junior season(3 years out of high school). I just had 3 players, who all came in as freshman, declare after their second season.
