Wrestlers with negative influence backstage...

Recommended Posts

Well, there's a few ways to handle them...

1. Try to make them better backstage. If you make the right calls on punishments, it can and will start to influence a worker's personality. I've take Bam Bam Johansson (typically one of the worst backstage offenders) and over the course of a few years he was only a very minor negative influence backstage, rather than a massive one. It's very much a trial and error process, though. Some problem workers will become bigger jerks if you're too harsh, while some will only respond to the most extreme of consequences.

2. Yeah, you could just fire them if you don't want their dickishness bringing down the backstage moods. Getting rid of them is an easy way to get backstage morale back to the levels where it isn't dragging down the performance of workers during shows.

3. If your backstage morale level is relatively high... well, who cares? You can freely try to work on making them a little better if they're one negative in a sea of positives. Paying for backstage perks, having folks with positive relationships and others with positive personalities will quickly outweigh having one or two guys who think its fun to threaten fans.

Personally, I like to have a few negative folks around to spice things up. But really, so long as your backstage morale is above about 81% you don't have anything to worry about. If you're just a little under that, then it can be just as easily remedied by bringing in someone's friend or a worker who is very generous and social or even offering to throw in some catering and a masseuse (both of which are pretty cheap).

I don't really think that you can do anything about someone who is a negative influence. If they are in enough incidences and you choose the correct way in dealing with them without making them mad then they might change their ways but for the most part I believe that they will stay as a negative influence.

The trick is to have enough workers on your roster who are positive influences because that way you are balancing your roster out between positive and negative influences and your backstage rating won't be affected too much.

In some cases i.e. Bryan Vessey its really hard to change his personallity if he keeps doing things that make you mad and you keep dealing with it in a way where he doesn't get too upset then you might have a shot. Also if someone gets in a negative incident and you choose fire and then recall it the next day when you get the option to actually fire him then it might change his personallity as he might realise that he needs to change his behavior or he will get fired for real.

Hope I have answered your question in the best way possible and good luck in doing whatever it is you are trying to do because dealing with certain guys can be a real pain in the butt.

Thanks for the help. I will look into it.

It's only Bully Ray, Alex Shelley and Angelina Love that i am worried about. nothing else. so i will see how things work out !

Tad bit off topic but,

I have heard that Bubba was a jerk in real life but I have never heard anything about Alex Shelley and Angelina Love.

I have heard that Alex Shelley was very negative at one stage in TNA- complaining a lot, being a bit of a pain backstage. Not heard about Love, though.

As for dealing with negative personalities, try hiring their friends or relatives. It always works for me on Larry Vessey, and he can be very negative.

Aye, that's why when I bring in Blackjack Robbins I always bring in Whisky Jack, too.

It sounds obvious, but having positive influences around will counter the impact of the negative influences. In my SWF I have an overwhelmingly positive backstage area because I have guys like Gilmore, Newton, Faith and Flash keeping guys like Jay Chord and Eric Eisen in line.

I don't go out of my way to sign positive influences, but then I've always had a strong backstage. If I needed to I'd find cheap-but-positive guys and make them into dark match tag fodder.

I don't go out of my way to hire Positives either, but I'm far more likely to keep Positive Influences around. My roster turnover is pretty high, but I'll think twice about dropping people I have no plans for, if they're a positive influence.

I'll tolerate Negative guys quite a lot, but when Remo is a negative influence, hated by three decent members of the roster, and my backstage is under 50%... Gotta go.

Usually Blood Relatives and Positive Influences cancel things out for me though.
