Been considering a new game...

Recommended Posts

The Lord knows I don't have as much free time as I'd like as of late (between fanfiction, TEW 2015, university coursework and alternate history work), but I want to get a new TEW 2010 game started. So I've got a couple of ideas, and I figured I'd throw them out here to test the water:

1. Reformat my TWL dynasty into a game - Never had the chance to get this underway due to IRL issues, but there's enough potential and storylines planned to see make a real go at it.

2. SCCW Rebooted - Bring back the veterans, put Sneer in charge, sign up more than a few rookies to help balance it out, and see what happens. Maybe sign a non-agression pact with USPW to make things even more interesting...

3.WWA - Completly new, start out by building around Ota & Aske in a Pirates versus Ninja stable war, basically make it all about storylines that are fun rather than drama and the like.

4. USPW - finally step into the game and do an actual run with all the ideas I've had in storage for months. Bring in some guys that I want to work with and leave the rest to the indies/Big 2/NOTBPW, etc... instead of doing development + lots of signings.

5. Challenge FCW - Basically run a small-time promotion in Puerto Rico at war with FCW... Maybe an 0/0/0/0?

Thoughts?

Option 3. Always Option 3. Ninjas vs Pirates would be one of the most epic things ever. I tried it but Jebediah doesn't make a good pirate or a good ninja. :(

Jebediah is part of part 2 Amish versus winners of Pirates versus Ninja.

Then there's Rednecks, Superheroes, humanoid animals (think Panda Mask and his like), etc...

I just exploded with glee reading this. :D

Basically the idea is to do it with a touring promotion, allowing me to run through an entire storyline through three or four months worth of shows before taking a break and starting up with a new one a couple of months later. It'll also let me take a breather so I don't get too burnt out. :)

I figure two shows a week for three months for one storyline, then a one month break then another storyline...

Also, this is taking place in Wisconsin. Or Washington. Or Wichita. Anyplace with a W in it is fair game. Since I'm touring, I might just go from place to place and rename the promotion in each location, while keeping to the initials of WWA.

Aye, I've been debating what to do TEW-wise, not counting my ongoing sagas of APWF (National in '83?) and RHW (Regional by 2016?!), but I'd like to jump into something else for a bit. Thinking...

1. EWA, either another reboot or dig up my last save I had to yank off my laptop a while back. Probably the later, since I know Manico isn't in time decline from the get-go.

2. WASA, my ol' diary game in the zany land of South Africa... in which case I'd continue the diary. Actually started writing a show up last week, but had to go leave it up here when I went home for the weekend, and my little freetime this week has been consumed by SWTOR... could just be that I feel guilty for getting sidetracked from it when I have so many fun ideas I'd love to share. Not to mention I've kinda dreamed if it was awesome enough, and Ryland actually added SA to the gameworld one day, that maybe some semblance of it would make it in...

3. SCCW. It's always had a special place in my heart, and with the 2001 C-Verse mod I could finally give it a shot, and proceed to push Blackjack Robbins, The Idaho Punisher, and all the other SCCW greats to, well, greatness. And lordy knows a Southern Brawlin' company is right up their in my heart with weird, international wrestlecrap.

4. WBW (70s C-Verse)... another company that was briefly a diary, but right now I just have an itch to book them, too. Wouldn't revive the diary, but would probably re-boot them (and make mostly the same signings... and then maybe re-think the storylines compared to last time).

5. Something new in either Europe or Australia, in any database from 2001 to 2010. I really do enjoy games in those "other" parts of the world, but wouldn't mind a company of my own creation for a change. Course, in Europe it's hard for me mentally to know I'm competition for EWA.

So yeah. No matter what, I want a company I can really take my time with and sink my teeth into. None of that "I'll just throw out some random unchained storylines and sorta work it out as I go along" BS that I do (at least to some extent) with my more casual screw-off games.

Hey, this is my thread Comrade, get your own! :p

But yeah, I'd mark out if you did SCCW 2001. :)

Hehe... hey, figured it was a good use of the thread, since I've had the same thing bouncing in my head. I'll probably do a SCCW 2001... will even take notes as I play, just in case I wanna do what I did with EWA and share it with the world.

Oh, and I totally forgot to respond to your post! :o

5 is a very original idea, and I like it. There's a lot of room for originality there, and I'm curious to what exactly you have in mind for a rival to FCW. Otherwise... well, 1 & 2 would both be fun, cause you know, Southern Brawlin' an' such. I actually had a Southern Brawling company in modern times that was designed to be the "spiritual successor" to SCCW and TWL, and had a LOT of fun with it... until I wrote myself into a corner and now I have idea what to do with the main event title. Shady K with his mysterious Blues Man gimmick was a lot of fun (as Karl "Catfish" Thompson), especially when he sold his soul for a world title shot, lost and had to become a servant of evil... yeah, at some point I'm gonna have to figure out where to go next with SWC (Southern Wrestling Confederation). Anywho...

3... eh, the ninjas vs. pirates thing is pretty awesome, but beyond that sounds a bit like another "this is the independent scene of the American C-verse, and these are most of the most talented people it has to offer" sorta fare. But maybe not, you didn't give much info on the idea... though I am quite fond of stable wars.

4: listen, I LOVE USPW. It's tied for best company in my mind with EWA. At the same time, well... it's USPW, and nearly everyone has taken a crack at it at some point or another. It's impossible to dislike USPW, and at some point you should at least screw around with it... odds are you'll have fun. I'd just suggest trying to stay true to its roots. Nothing turns me off to a USPW game faster than someone talking about how they fired all the old guys and brought in CZCW's roster. Yes, you need a few young faces to bring in, but USPW should very much be WWF in the 80s at all times. There needs to be plenty of big, hulking talentless hacks and zany wrestlecrap abound... and T-Rex should be main eventing and destroying anyone and everyone, not jobbing to Darryl Devine.

So there's my thoughts. I'd say 5, but 2 and 4 aren't too far behind, and 1 would probably be fun too.

And now that I'm done rambling... it comes down to you. Now if you'll exuse me, I'm gonna go start a 2001 SCCW game... think I'll bring in Sabbath and T-Rex, cause SCCW starts well below my steroid quota.

It's still in progress... :o

That sounds pretty cool. :p

Basically I have a touring company. Runs for three months/2 shows a week before taking a break of one month. It's all about stable-wars, comedy, etc... with each storyline taking an entire three months to complete before transitioning to another. Nothing to do with the independent scene (unless you think a teaming of Jebediah, Al & Pete is going to be a slobberknocker!), just picking up the guys with the most obvious gimmicks and throwing them at each other, with plenty of jobbers to feed to them before the ultimate battle to settle the score.

... How's about I send you my basics ideas to start out with and you can tell me how far off the mark I am? :p

Well, get back in this thread when you've got an idea. :)

That sounds pretty cool. :p

I agree... but again, last I'd played I'd written myself into a wall as far as the main event scene is concerned. Zero clue where to go next with it. :(

You had me at Jebediah, Al, & Pete. :D

Sure, go right ahead. Always love to see what different folks are doing in TEW.
