Round 2 >Between rounds, his corner told Shields to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. >Akiyama moves out of range of a flurry of punches. >Akiyama comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Shields. >Akiyama grabs Shields and pulls him into a grapple. >Akiyama is trying to push Shields so that his back is up against the cage. >Akiyama can't move Shields at all though, and finds himself being out-wrestled. >Using his wrestling skills, Shields is trying to push Akiyama up against the cage. >He does so, and now has Akiyama pinned to the cage. >With Akiyama stuck against the cage, Shields gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. >The takedown doesn't work, Akiyama blocked it and then turns it so that Shields is the one against the cage. >Shields waits for Akiyama to throw an elbow, then uses wrestling to turn him around so that Akiyama now has his back to the cage. >Shields uses a vicious foot stomp. >We move into the second half of this round. >Showing his ability to control opponents, Shields smothers Akiyama against the cage while nailing him with short strikes to the body for about sixty seconds. >With the cage trapping Akiyama, Shields gets the underhooks in and looks for a takedown. >He lifts his opponent and drives him down with a Greco-Roman slam!
