FlameSnoopy
Who are you? What have you accomplished? I'm FlameSnoopy and I've been around these boards for over three and a half year's now. In terms of TEW scene accomplishments my biggest one's have to be building a fictional universe by myself from scratch to over 350 workers with complete history, promotions and almost complete title lineage. I'm also a contributing artist for TEW (self boast ) and have been part of some other smaller projects around the boards. Why create another fictional universe from scratch? And aren't there enough those already? I started creating that one back when TEW2008 had been out for a couple of months. I didn't have a plan for the mod at the time, I just created workers when I wanted to and started building it part by part. Sometime this year (2012) I realized it was not what I wanted it to be and decided it would be better to start off from nothing and build everything up again. Yes, there are quite a few fictional universes already. I admit the release of jhd1's and Shmoe's jhdVerse created a spark and I decided to begin on the new project. Also in making are LoNdOnVerse and GDSVerse I believe, with other not so visible mods in the store for us later on or simply private projects. And the amount of choice this brings is obviously just good for everyone! What's wrong with you? I've always liked to create something my own. Back in the days I used to map for several games and mods like Counter Strike, The Specialists and Team Fortress 2. EWR days I started to create a fictional world as well, without even knowing about TEW or that TEW even had a fictional world. Simply put, it's fun and one always needs a project. So what do you want from me? Anything. Any kind of contribution you can think of you would like to do. Renders, workers, companies, ideas or heck, just a name or two! No attachment required. Just throw one worker idea or an idea every now and then. Anything helps. What have you done so far? I have outlined several areas. This time I would like to plan how the World looks before hand, and not just create it as the time flies. Thus we can make it more coherent and more enjoyable. What will you do then? I'll be supervising the project and all contributions just to make it sure it stays uniformal and has no things that make no sense history wise or so. Also, I'll be creating all sorts of stuff to the Verse, so I'll be a co-creator like you. What is left to do? Area outlines for CANADA, AUSTRALIA and JAPANWomen's scene hasn't been outlined at all yetDojosAwardsEventsErasLocations (if decided to create from scratch)NarrativesTV NetworksTitles & title historyAnd of course the actual submitting of all the workers and promotions to TEW form So pretty much everything. For more information post in this thread or private message me and I will try to answer your questions as best as I possibly can. Hopefully there are some enthusiastic people in this board and have enough in their tank to contribute to yet another fictional world!

FlameSnoopy
Thanks for the interest guys! I forgot to add that Japan is also one that hasn't been outlined at all. So far this is what I have planned: - Europe is the leading continent of professional wrestling. * The biggest promotion in the World is International Championship Entertainment, or ICE, currently planned to be National with a PPV deal and a TV contract. They've gone over several name changes over the years. * Launched somewhere in the 1950's as the first professional wrestling promotion in Europe, builded on a product that was built by a historical Belgian figure named Toots Lemaire. * Product is basically a shy away from pure entertainment. So I was thinking like mainstream key, traditional key, comedy medium, 60% match ratio or something like that. So that it's entertainment based with short matches and epic angles. * Owner is a completely ruthless dude named Kevin Wonderful, or Mr. Wonderful, who took over the promotion and named it ICE somewhere around 1974. He is the kind of guy who throws around money to get what he wants. * Kevin Wonderful brought with him in 1974 a big Ghanaian boxing prospect named Wakaso "The Murderer" Owusu, a French movie star with two box office hits Emmanuel "Bogie" Moreau and also a Swiss grappler Jérôme "Panache" Reif with amazing natural talent. So I'm thinking either Owusu or Moreau are still in the promotion, with Reif being a major league player by now? * Other promotions in the Europe include Out of Oxygen (O3) a technical based promotion loaning heavily from the UK traditional wrestling, Sensational European Entertainment that was launched in 1979 following the massive success of ICE and Fennoscandian Association of Wrestling launched in 1983. I want to create a mix of all different styles, looks and nationalities in the Europe to showcase it's diversity. - Mexico is the second biggest area of wrestling in the World * I kinda just want to potray Lucha Libre in this mod as more of how it is in the real world, not like in the CornellVerse. So less dependant on the titles, more on masks and feuds and such. * I planned for the number one promotion to be National and the thing in Mexico to be a family of wrestling, with the Verse perhaps named after a legendary Blue Phantom Jr. named masked grappler. He is the typical hero, who shyed away from the criminal Mexican promotions of the early days and helped to form a clean-cut lucha promotion. Also to have him make an international impact, so him being touring across the globe and stuff like that. With Blue Phantom Jr. retired by now, Blue Phantom III needs to live up to the hype of his father. * The biggest promotion has definitely a television contract as well, maybe a PPV contract? - To create something completely different I didn't want to potray United States as the leading wrestling country in the World. Instead have maybe a cult promotion with a couple of sister promotions trying to dominate the scene or something? Something completely different. - United Kingdom in this Verse I was thinking is potrayed as the country that used to be the number one area, but lost the position to Europe in the 70's due to failure to adapt. * Was monopolized after second World War. Promotion name British Grappling Circuit ran through to 1983 (game begins in 1985), when it disbanded after losing a thirty year old television slot, with no big stars in many years and an owner who manipulated everything. * So now three legendary former workers of BGC, all part of the Hall of Immortals, are trying to rebuild the scene to it's former glory with a promotion named Wrestling Kingdom. I'm thinking traditional, realistic grappling with 80% match ratio. So a little entertainment as well. * Also one or few independent promotions just trying to make it with different products and such? That's pretty much all I have planned so far. The most detailed one I have done is definitely Europe, then United Kingdom. Mexico is just loosely thought out and United States based on just that little idea I had. How does that sound like and if you have any thoughts everyone is free to share them
Self
I'd just put a Regional promotion in every region in America, and let 'em fight it out to see who gets to the top. A developing wrestling world with plenty of room for expansion. Seems to remember that was the concept for a C-Verse draft idea that never got off the ground. Always sounded fun. But in several long term sims people have done the problem seems to be that AI cannot rise to Cult? So I don't know, but I've kind of always wanted to test something like that as well. Definitely noted!
juggaloninjalee
Very interesting. Considering it starts in 1985 maybe only have that European promotion with a PPV deal. USA could be a territory system with 2 or maybe 3 of the territories able to break out if they choose to because they have the top tier talent. Also with this they could all have varying products. 1 hardcore, 1 entertainment, and 1 more traditional. Maybe Canada and Japan could have 2 of the top hardcore promotions and have a working agreement together. That would be fun. Like what you have come up with so far. FlameSnoopy
@TheOmniWarrior Yeah I'm thinking of creating a complete world. I like it! @juggaloninjalee Sounds good. But is 2 national promotions enough (1 Europe, 1 Mexico)? Maybe Japan could have one puroresu top promotion and the second biggest would be a hardcore promotion who partnered with the Canadians? And if someone wants to outline Canada, Japan, Australia or United States just throw a note and we'll see what you come up with

MJStark
As I say with any project that starts up like this, feel free to use what is in my worker picpack for whatever you need if you want http://www.sendspace.com/file/06957y I also have a variety of logos that you're free to use if you wish: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3483/wvwi.jpghttp://img853.imageshack.us/img853/4789/alwl.jpghttp://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2863/bcpi.jpghttp://img718.imageshack.us/img718/5526/bspw.jpghttp://img819.imageshack.us/img819/2791/cbwb.jpghttp://img708.imageshack.us/img708/5194/cfsk.jpghttp://img195.imageshack.us/img195/8216/ciwg.jpghttp://img263.imageshack.us/img263/7990/eawa.jpghttp://img338.imageshack.us/img338/448/mukw.jpghttp://img141.imageshack.us/img141/3100/till.jpghttp://img856.imageshack.us/img856/9822/vhw.jpg
TheOmniWarrior
I was drawing blanks, feel free to trash it if you dont like it... it felt pretty generic on my end tbh. Australia Note: Promotion names not included Australia has a pretty small market, one regional promotion in the lead of three small promotions. (50% match ratio) The regional promotion would be an entertainment promotion that wasnt an entertainment promotion before. The owner, Nelson McQueen - a fine technical wrestler in his own rite, saw what ICE in Europe had been able to achieve, and two years ago tried to mirror it. Two years ago he FIRED half the roster, instead replacing them with local non-wrestler athletes, mostly bodybuilders, even able to get Australia's national bodybuilding champion, Alexander Harris, on the roster with promises that it would be great for his career. Alexander Harris has been the heavyweight champion since his first match on the roster. The next promotion is actually based in New Zealand. (100% match ratio, Pure key, Traditional Key... that type of product.) Some cuts made by the big Australian promotion a couple years back actually saved them, having been in financial trouble, a few gambles on established talents that had been fired had payed off, drawing in enough fans to slowly get them out of the red... no longer in danger, but not exactly comfortable. The homegrown talent has been pushed down the card in the last couple of years in favor of the castoffs from the "big league." This has led to some backstage tension between some of the homegrowns and the castoffs. The next promotion integrated some entertainment into their product to see if it would help. (80% ratio pop=performance) This promotion didnt hire ANY of the castoffs when the talent exodus happened, instead choosing to focus on the guys that had been working with them already. The bit of "mainstream flashiness" they tried to add to their product payed off, the fans were really starting to "dig" the characters, and it really is a nice change of pace from having to hours straight of no only wrestling and the show with only half of it being wrestling, and half of that wrestling being... horrible. The final promotion is a touring promotion (similiar product to the NZ promotion) that formed a year ago, founded by six of the people fired from the big promotion, who for some reason or another wernt able to find work with the other two promotions. 2 shows a week february-may, and august-november. Aside from the six founding members, the roster is mostly very green youngsters.

Plus it gives the world room to grow if you only have a few. I wouldn't mind more National like one in Japan. That would work. Or instead of partnering the Canadian Hardcore promotion and Japan just make them small enough that nobody is exclusive. So maybe the Japan hardcore promotion is a cult promotion and the Canadian one can be Regional.

If you ever want to create mod specific renders you're welcome to do so just kidding, but thanks MJStark. I was drawing blanks, feel free to trash it if you dont like it... it felt pretty generic on my end tbh. No this is good stuff. I really like it. The Nelson McQueen technical wrestler who wants talentless bodybuilders is a good idea and funny The New Zealand one sounds a bit like CornellVerse's equivalent of Ring of Fire. RoF was the first promotion I ever played in CV and definitely like the idea of backstage tension due and the divided up roster between the new and the originals. Maybe for the last one merge the 3rd and 4th into one promotion? Thus making Australia/New Zealand area have three promotions. To me that sounds like a pretty fine outline. If you want to breed this idea further by creating some of the workers or something, that would work also. Thanks Omni this is good stuff honestly! This probably isn't to reflect real world but if you go back to 1985 you only had a couple of truly national companies right? Plus it gives the world room to grow if you only have a few. So maybe the Japan hardcore promotion is a cult promotion and the Canadian one can be Regional. Yeah only roughly with some of the inventions (tv & ppv) trying to follow real world. Two nationals could work. Then have the Japanese hardcore promotion have a couple of key workers maybe under written contracts and a couple exclusive to Japan. Maybe add a couple of other Japanese independent promotions to the scene, like a Super Junior and one traditional puroresu? Then have the Canadian hardcore promotion be the biggest promotion and add one smallish or even local sized company there as well.

TheOmniWarrior
Here was my attempt at merging 3/4 into one idea. Ill work on some of the workers a bit later to. Bout to head out right now tho. Merger of 3&4 (Realism, Mainstream, Possibly cult at medium too?) Aussie Combat Enterprise is the rebranding of a company that had once been almost exactly like the New Zealand promotion. In order to change its focus, the owner decide on adding in a more realistic feel, as well as putting in a bit of a mainstream feel to their product to differentiate themselves from the other two companies. In addition, they brought in four of the guys who were forced out of the "big league" who for the most part have been trading wins with eachother in the midcard and lower reaches of the card up to this point. One of the four former big leaguers, a wrestler by the name of Shane Davis, has recently been (independent of the promotion) training up a crop of workers. Its believed that due to connections with Davis, at least one or two of the group will probably get signed upon debut.
LoNdOn
I'm really pleased to see others getting in the creative mood. As you said Flamesnoopy, more fictional mods means more choices and benefits for everybody! I wish this mod all the best and if it were not for the London-Verse, I would happily contribute renders. If you want to discuss any ideas whether creative or mod construction related, feel free to ask me.

I like the dojo connected to the promotion really need to make use of the whole dojo thing in 2010 (like MAW in the CornellVerse). The bitter former wrestlers of the McQueen company evolving and helping out a rival promotion is good stuff as well. Almost as if they would want to destroy the joke of the leading Australian promotion! And no rush with the workers, this mod is a slow build undoubtedly. sebsplex
Good luck with this Flamesnoopy. It's always great to see new mods springing up, especially working in the ideas of multiple people because there's a lot of creativity on these forums and plenty to go around. Obviously I've got my own mod in the works at the moment, so can't contribute anything much right now, but feel free to hit me up for any advice or whatever if you like and I'll do my best to be useful! BTW, any chance Squalus is going to pop up?

And yes, everyone is still waiting for that GDSVerse to appear some faithful day Haha and I most surely will! And now that you mention Squalus.... I think I just have to sneak him in somehow somewhere as well as a Fish Market Street Fight. I can't stress this enough, but that character is just LEGEN ..wait for it.. DARY!
