Matches you would pay to see

Recommended Posts

Cornellverse of course...just some matches that you would really love to see. Could be a main event, midcard match, lower card, woman's.

Honestly I would love to see Tommy vs Vessey just for the technical aspect. I Love mat wrestling and such and I think that would be a good one.

Eisen vs Money. For some reason when I think about a match like this, it reminds me of like an Austin vs The Rock i'm not sure why.

What are some of yours? I know you guys can come up with some awesome combos of matches.

Sam Strong vs. Rip Chord (not present day obviously lol)

Dan Stone Jr vs. Jeremy Stone

Elemental vs. Optimus

Miwa vs. Kunomasu

Cornell vs. RDJ

There's a ton more but those stick out.

Edit: I've always thought Cornell vs. Mcfly would be a great feud.

for me it would have to be Tommy Cornell vs Angry Gilmore imho the best in tcw vs the best in swf

for a lower card i would like to watch the promos of a Roger Cage and Ernie Turner feud the may not be as good though i would still buy tickets for the angles

I probally would buy tickets to see anyone in the Cverse just cause i have never seen any of them and i feel like i know most of them.

Stones vs DeColts in a Survivor Series type match would get me shelling out huge money.

Steve Flash passing the torch to Davis Wayne Newton similarly so.

Cherry Bomb vs J-Ro, Nigel Svensson vs Dark Angel, Tommy Cornell vs Eric Eisen, Nemesis vs Chris Caulfield, and Peter Valentine vs anyone ever would all be close runners up.

There are so many awesome matches in the Cornellverse that would be awesome... while I hate NOTBPW I'd love to see a 4 vs 4 Elimination rules Stones vs DeColts match, which is probably one of the most likely ones of the fantasy booking type deals since the Canadian promotions don't hate each other and could probably do very well out of it. I'd want the DeColts to win it too, since it'd be their incredible promo skills carrying much of the rivalry while the Stones would likely be incredibly lame... might have to tweak the line-ups slightly to make it Dan Jr/Jeremy/Duane/Steve DeColt vs Alex/Jack/Ricky/Edd Stone... now that would be a money match. :D

I'd love to see Christian Faith vs Tommy Cornell... as great as the likes of McFly is and Sam Keith has been, seeing the icons of the SWF and TCW battling 1 vs 1 would be epic. Completely different styles, natural heel vs natural babyface, both can cut amazing promos and both know how to work the crowd... I have no doubts that whatever story this match was given could be awesome and the match would blow everything else in the world out of the water. Like Undertaker vs HBK at Wrestlemanias, this would be an absolute dream match that I'd pay to see.

In a similar vein, though not quite as much, I'd love to see Vengeance taking on Ricky Dale Johnson... they broke into the business around the same time, they have their own natural face and heel tendencies, they are both big names and they both span the SWF/TCW divide. I doubt it would be anywhere near as good as Faith/Cornell but it would still be an awesome match.

Moving over to Japan where I'm something of a fan in the Cornellverse but know nothing about in real life... my first big match there would involve Tadiyuki Kikkawa taking on a big PGHW name. Kikkawa is a legend in Japan and with almost no-one else in the world being more physical than him I imagine he'd have some incredible matches with the PGHW crew, who he would mostly be bigger than and provide a different kind of threat than most of the typical PGHW crew. Kikkawa vs Shuji Inukai would be a brutal, stiff contest of lariats that I'd absolutely pay to see, while Kikkawa vs Raymond Diaz would draw comparisons with the Kikkawa/Khoklov bout in INSPIRE, only with a much more talented opponent. Two huge, intimidating, intense, brutal strikers going at it in a PGHW ring would be awesome to see and I'd pay to see that.

Otherwise I'm looking at the Juniors and trying to work out the best combinations of guys there. Elemental III is still young but is likely to be incredible one day... any combination of Elemental III, Sensational Dragon, Magnum KOBE, Emerald Angel and Marihito Masuko (may have that name wrong :p) in the ring together at any time would always be a massive draw for me simply for the incredible matches that any combination of those men could have. Add in the likes of Musashi (a personal favourite), The Awesome Kiyaru, Duane Stone (Black Cobra) and Hell Monkey and this could be the line-up for the greatest Best Of Super Juniors tournament in the history of ever and something tape traders around the world would stream to each other for decades to come. :)

I'd also add a tag match I'd love to see... The Rebellion (Ken Shimedzu and Natsu Miyamae) vs The New Wave (Scout and Guide). While many people will say that The Machines are the best tag team in North America (and some might say the Stone Siblings), the New Wave are the greatest team for my money through experience success and being a team I can never run out of ideas for booking. The Rebellion are undoubtedly Japan's finest team and so this would be a dream match of sheer awesomeness that could probably blow everything out of the water and steal any show. :)

I'd love to see the match I got the other day in my playaround of the Cornellverse: the Scotsman and Norman Gates v The Minor Annoyance and Jeff Amazon. It'd be like watching the macabre car wreck that was Legends of Wrestling. Bonus points if the ref of the match was so blind and deaf that he didnt notice the chairshots directly in front of him, just like in Steele/Valentine on that card.

EDIT: Ron Greenhorn v Dusty Bin is another choice match I've seen booked on the random indy shows.

For me it would have to be Dan Stone Jr. vs. Owen Love

Reason being because whenever I put them together in my current NOTBPW game they always have a great match. When the game first started they would pull matches in the 90's with the highest being a 97. They have six of my top ten matches in my NOTBPW save which is currently in January 2017.

For me NOTBPW has always been like playing TEW on easy mode (at least for me) however in my current game the last couple years have not been as good as my first couple years. Yeah I can still pull B shows on a regular basis but I am not getting A matches like I was but thats fine with me because now its a challenge as before it wasn't not that I minded having over 30 matches rated over 90.

My ultimate goal is to get to 2021 because that is when Lucy Stone McFly makes her debut and it could really spice up my womens division.

And sadly even though I am seven years into the game I am still at Cult. However I am having fun with it so I don't mind so much plus if I really wanted to I could go into the editor and edit the company so that they were national.

Going back to the match I would pay to see I already said Owen Love vs. Dan Stone Jr. Not only would I pay to see it but its also my go to match If I need a good main event on my show and even if their matches don't score A's like they used to they still score high B's.

I'd love to see Hell Monkey. Hell Monkey of any sort would make me very happy. I guess seeing him in NYCW would be funny, just to see how miserable he looks in such a terrible promotion pre-Japan. Of course, seeing Monkey vs Magnum Kobe would be pretty neat.

Seeing Samoan Machine would be cool too. Also Chris Caufield. Those are basically my fav guys in the database, alot of feds have been started with one to all three of them being the original aces, depending on the promotions product and who's avalable.

Most of the matches I've booked in NOTBPW I'd love to see, I'd pay to watch McFly against anyone, even the Minor Annoyance. It'd be great to watch matches like McFly/Cornell, Hawkins/Cornell, Stones/DeColts as well obviously. One of the matches I'd pay to see, based largely on my BY2G game would be John Anderson vs. KC Glenn because their great chemistry led to matches way above what a promotion my size should have been getting. CZCW would also produce a lot of the matches I'd love to see because I like that style of wrestling, a Remmy Skye/Sammy Bach ladder match would be worth paying for, +4 or no +4.

1) Sean McFly vs Tommy Cornell WORLD TITLE MATCH

2) Wolf Hawkins vs Joey Minnesota UPPERCARD TITLE

3) Lords of War vs Demons of Rage TAG TITLES

4) Bryan Vessey vs Sam Keith PURE WRESTLING TITLE

5) Remmy Sky vs Hell Monkey in a king of the ladder match. (I'd make Hell Monkey my new face of ladder matches)

6) Giant Redwood vs Jim Force vs Captain USA vs T-Rex vs Mick Muscles vs Tom Angelus in a wrestlecrap spectacular!

7) Fox Mask vs American Elemental vs Insane Machine in the show opener.

That is my dream CVerse card I think.

For shame, Derek, not mentioning that RDJ and Vengeance are former tag partners...

I meant to, that was one of the main reasons I had that match as otherwise I'm not sure I'd care about it. Guess I was getting sloppy when I posted my matches. :)

I'll have to go with the crowd and say Christian Faith vs Tommy Cornell. I'm a sucker for a clash of icons.

I also reckon Gilmore vs Cornell could tear the house down.

Wolf Hawkins vs Marc DuBois would be an interesting coming together of two young stars, but they're lack of great psychology might gimp it a bit.
