crayon
Given how that we're all a bunch of turn-based text friendly people around here I figured that some of you might be interested to know that a sequel to Wasteland (the game that went on to spawn Fallout) has a Kickstarter page. It managed to pull $900,000 in two days of crowd funding and is currently sitting at about $1,120,000. 900k was the goal so it looks like it's happening! BurningHamster
That is an insane amount of money for kickstarter, good lord. Maybe when I want to get a film funded I should just claim I am making a sequel to a video game.
crayon
Doublefine managed to pull in $3.3 Million at the end of their funding for a new Adventure game by Tim Schaefer and Ron Gilbert. I think it's a new record? I'd say it's looking like this one may be able to pull similar numbers if it gets enough exposure. Myself, I put myself down for $15. I never actually played Wasteland, but I loved the hell out of Fallout 1 & 2, so if this is anything similar (and given that it's got the man responsible for them at the helm) I figure I may as well take the chance
Wrestling Century
I've never played the first Wasteland, but I have loved every Fallout game that has came out (especially the first two), so it should be epic. I'll put some money down before the fundraiser ends. Plus, IMO the world needs more old/classic style RPGs.
hellboy2
i got to play Wasteland but from what i remember it plays with a booklet like you get a back story or something, so a lot it never made sense, but i hope for the best for this project
Dragonmack
back then you didnt have the amount of computer memory that we do today as in it was still kilobytes, not megabytes or gigabytes, nor did computers have a hard drive. so if you wanted an expanded background told, you needed accessories, hence the books, maps, etc.
Linsolv
I'm very excited for Wasteland 2. I didn't play the original myself, but upon hearing about the project I did find <div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="150" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/IvYcu5qaO-s?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Let's Play Wasteland 01 Introduction"></iframe></div></div>, which is brilliant. Guest Asaemon
Wasteland is one of my old favorites. I've played it a lot both on C64 and PC.
