Any automation/code experts on here?

I'm currently doing my final year project at university. Part of what I'm designing involves a certain degree of automation.

I'm fairly sure I've got the hardware I need (control switch, microcontroller and solenoids) but I'm really struggling to write the code. It's a pretty simply setup I have in mind.

Basically the user presses an on switch, a valve opens for 10s, stops, a stand rotates 180, the valve opens for another 10s, stops, then an extraction fan switches on. That's it.

I know it's a long shot, but if there's anybody on here who knows anything about automation or coding, could they please either PM me or reply in this thread? You'd be doing me a massive favour. :o

<p>Tbh, I don't really know. And also, I'm not sure if it really matters. As long as I have code to present to my project advisor it will be fine. </p><p> </p><p>

Damonster, I'm assuming you have a certain degree of interest/expertise in this field. If you have a particular programming language that you feel is better/easier to use to maybe help me out then by all means say so. I won't be physically building what I'm designing, it's a theoretical system. So any language will do really.</p>

<p>I only know visual basic, some Q Basic and very few java. I have made a robot using Q basic for a class project. If you know Visual Basic, Q Basic is pretty much the exact same but is only writing.</p><p> </p><p>

Just wondering, do you know Visual Basic?</p>

I could maybe ask on a Visual Basic forum or something for some help.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> nope, but Q Basic most likely would work.</p>

Q Basic? Ok, well I guess that's some progress at least. I'll try see if I can find a Q Basic forum and try see if I can figure things out. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
