Hey i Just thought i would pose this question to you the GDS community, Dunno how many of you have done something similar but i'd like the advice of those who have.

So i have just made Austin Aries a double champion he currently holds the X Division Title and has done for the past 10 months, however on Xplosion he won an 8 man Tournament to win the vacant TV Title, now my question is how best to book him as a believable double champion? I don't want to unify the titles i want him to defend both for at least the time being. He's pretty much beaten everyone in the X division but thats the gimmick I'm going for with him... the only guy he hasn't really beat is Daniels who has until recently been caught up in the tag scene but has now returned to singles competition..

So how should i book aries?

<p>I'd have him concentrate on defending the TV title (on TV) building up the prestige of the title, and defending the X-Division championship at PPV's, he's beaten everyone so no reason to defend it other than at PPV's.</p><p> </p><p>

In the meantime I'd build Daniels up to be the No1 contender over the course of a few months. I'd have others challenging for the title at various PPV's but Aries retaining.</p><p> </p><p>

Once Daniels is in a position to become the No1 contender have a series of matches with close finishes, until eventually Daniels takes the X-Division title off Aries.</p>

<p>Sounds like a suitable idea and it wouldn't take to much effort to enforce as due to beating everyone Aries has been holding Open challenges at PPV's i've been bringing in X Division wrestlers on 1 show contracts just to lose, has featured some old faces returning. </p><p> </p><p>

I'll now start focusing on Daniels journey to the title. Say he thinks Aries has done well to bring the X Division back to the mainstream it once was but he doesn't respect the Division like Daniels does.</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks for the advice Talon</p>

I don't know how you have these two set, whether Heel or Face, but as for storylines, if you've had Daniels as an X-Divison Champ at somepoint in your game. Then you can have Aries saying Daniels can't hang in the X-Divison anymore, that he's nothing but a tag-team wrestler now. He needs someone to back him up and get him out of situations. So how does Daniels think he can hang with not only the current X-Divison Champ but also the reigning TV champ as well, the only man capable of bringing back prestige to the TV title, and the only dual champion in history (assuming he is....)

Talon as it happens Aries is the heel and Daniels is the face, so its not too out of logic to play out that idea. I really like the idea of Aries becoming super super cocky heel due to being the only double champ in Impact Wrestling history so much I've had him adopt the nickname Double Gold A Double. So I'll play your idea of what makes Daniels think he can hang with Aries now after his stint in a tag team, I could also extend it to Aries calling Daniels the weak link of the team as he lost the fall in a match where the losers disbanded... Hows that sound Talon? Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like you're set for the next few months. I'll throw this one in as you've mentioned the break up of the tag-team. You could have Daniels former partner at some point turning Heel and siding with Aries, perhaps costing Daniels a few matches, allowing you either to have him be the new challenger for Daniels title, or you have the opportunity for Aires to prove his point that Daniels is nothing but a tag-team wrestler, by issuing a challenge to Daniels to find a partner or (series of partners,) to face him and his former partner. You could go with 'dirty' finishes resulting in loses for Daniels and Partner(s) until he finds a partnership that brings him a win. He can then be faced with a decision to either remain in singles and challenge for, (or defend if he's won it by then,) the X-Division title or return to tag with his new partner.

(Hope that makes sense as I don't know who Daniels was in a team with.)

His tag partner was AJ whom I'd turn heel and follow that idea but he's currently covered storyline wise for at least the next six months to a year as he'll be leading the crusade against the newly reformed Planet Jarrett, how ever I do like that idea and could have former fortune member and friend of Daniels, Kaz turn heel and side with Aries echoing the words of Aries that Daniels was the weak link in not only the team with AJ but also the weak link in the stable. This would work as currently Kaz is doing nothing. Cheers again Talon scored gold there mate.

<p>Can I just say that you're doing a much better job of hyping TNA than the *actual* TNA is doing?</p><p>

I'm really enjoying reading about this prospective angle. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

What if you have Aries wearing down as time passes, having to defend both belts. I would have Daniels start playing mind games of some sort on Aries, eventually distracting him against someone for the TV title (like Mr Perfect distracting Shawn Michaels against Marty Jannetty on RAW if I'm not mistaken). Then, the following PPV, have Daniels beat Aries for the X Division belt...Aries' cockiness having cost him the belt. (Maybe Aries has the win secured, but decides to punish Daniels more for having cost him the TV title...Daniels mounts a comeback and gets the win???)
