"...La Buey was down and out... He was beaten... He'd been on the receiving end of the Loco Driver III and could do nothing to stop Poco pinning him to the mat. Bruiser Cassidy, a constant thorn in the side of Poco and Cordero Calderon throughout this match was busy manhandling Calderon in the crowd and completely oblivious to the situation in the ring..."

Not just for the three men who have battled through our Season 12 finale main event... This won't affect just Poco Loco and Calderon... The arrival of the first-ever PWI Champion in Puerto Rico will influence the whole locker room..."

"...La Buey's grip on the LWA Legacy Championship just got that much tighter and Poco Loco's journey to the title continues... The man they call two men will want to go through Shay Kinsella for what he has done here tonight... And he'll want to do it sooner..."

"...Ladies and gentlemen... Thank you once again for being a part of LWA and supporting us through Season 12... In two months time, Season 13 kicks off and we've already got a hundred thousand questions that need to be answered..."

"...For now... Let me say this... La Buey remains the LWA Legacy Champion... Bruiser Cassidy remains the Puerto Rican Champion... And their group has got a third member... LWA... Say hello to Shay Kinsella!"

Seriously? You've heard so little about the Legacy Wrestling Alliance that you've come straight to our "about" page which in truth, we probably haven't updated since we opened in 1999.

Luckily for you, we hadn't. Until last week anyway. I had some time following the Season 12 Finale two weeks ago and before Santa Claus arrives with what I'm assuming will be a new iPad to give this place the once over. Like the good webmaster that I am, I didn't bother procastinating on YouTube or anything like that. I actually got down to business. Let's start at the beginning and then I'll guide you through what you need to know about LWA.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Banner.jpg

The
Leagacy Wrestling Alliance
was formed in December 1999 and held it's first show in Janaury of the new millenium. Set up by the sons of Puerto Rican wrestling legend Alvaro Buey Senior, the LWA has developed over time to provide Puerto Rican fans with a little mix of everything.

There is a healthy combination of everything good in wrestling nestled around a core of the very best local talent. Lucha libre, sound technicans, brusing brawlers and high-flying daredevils. LWA provides a little bit of everything without getting carried away.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/AlvaroBueyJr.jpg

The man in charge of LWA is
Alvaro Buey Junior
, the eldest son of the previously mentioned legend. Alvaro followed his father into the wrestling business although he never made the step into the ring. Instead he oversees everything that goes on in the Legacy Wrestling Alliance.

Despite never competing into the ring, Alvaro still retains the respect of the entire roster of wrestlers. He is a pretty sizeable guy which helps. He makes sure each and every member of the company doesn't step out of line, especially his half brother...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LaBuey.jpg

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Legacy.jpg

La Buey
. Guillermo Buey used to represent everything that his father stood for. He used to compete in the name of his dad and dedicate every victory to his memory - however that all changed 18 months ago. Guillermo started to consider himself more of a success than his legendary father and within months of his changed attitude; he changed his name.

La Buey's destiny is now based on progressing the Puerto Rican legacy and to do that, he needs to take the LWA away from his "controlling" half brother. La Buey, the reigning
Legacy Wrestling Alliance Champion
, has ever so recently recruited the help of a man not seen in a wrestling ring for seven years...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/ShayKinsella.jpg

Shay Kinsella
. Kinsella, the first ever Pro Wrestling Integrity Champion, took a hiatus from wrestling following the birth of his second daughter. At "The End is Nigh," the finale show for LWA's 12th season, Kinsella helped La Buey retain his title in rather sensational fashion.

Following the match, Kinsella and La Buey celebrated together and quickly signified they have formed some kind of unholy alliance which can only mean bad things for the rest of the LWa locker room. However, one thing is for certain: Kinsella won't be allowed long to settle back into wrestling. He's quite clearly going to be the number one target of the man he cheated out of the LWA Championship...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/PocoLoco.jpg

Poco Loco
. Reportedly just 23 years-old Poco Loco should be the LWA Champion right now. Having planted La Buey with the debuting Loco Driver III, Poco was only denied his second reign as Champion by Kinsella and his wicked Superkick.

The man who they call two men such is apparent split personality is one of the most beloved members of the LWA roster, even if he has never actually spoken to a fan who could understand him. Loco speaks "wrestler" and that means only fellow wrestlers can understand him. To the untrained ear, his language ends up sounding like a lot of groans, squeaks and ramblings. Thankfully, Loco's best friend and mentor is usually on-hand to translate for him. That man was also a part of the "The End is Nigh" main event. He is...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/CorderoCalderon.jpg

Cordero Calderon
. "The Pride of Puerto Rico" is arguably not the wrestler that he used to be. However, his never-say-die attitude that has typified his career means he'll probably end up adding to his haul of four LWA Championship reigns before he eventually hangs up his wrestling trunks.

Calderon has been a mainstay of LWA ever since the very first show and his long standing rivalry with La Buey has been well documented although it has only been in recent months that they have started to face off. Unfortunately for Calderon, his reputation precedes him. It seems that every upstart who enters the Legacy ring focus themselves on being the one to end Calderson and that has seen having to fend off plenty of rivals. None however have been as threatening as...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/BruiserCassidy.jpg

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Regional.jpg

the reigning
LWA Puerto Rican Champion
,
Bruiser Cassidy
. Cassidy, the first lieutenant of La Buey in LWA, has been a thorn in the side of Calderon ever since he appeared in the Legacy ring back in August 2010. The Canadian powerhouse has a wealth of fighting experience under his belt but has yet to face off, one-on-one, with Calderon despite his many requests.

Having basically nullified Cordero during the Season 12 Finale, one has to think that match won't be far off. For now though, Bruiser has to worry about the number one contender to his title belt...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/KosmoSupreme.jpg

Kosmo Supreme
. Some say Kosmo's real name is Kai Philo Hart and he is a cousin of the legendary Hart family who are currently breaking all manner of bones in the big leagues. I reckon they're wrong. I never trust what Google says.

What I do know to be true is that Kosmo Supreme is pretty awesome and that he is pretty keen to become the first non-Puerto Rican triple crown winner in LWA history. To do that he needs to beat Bruiser Cassidy and find a suitable partner to take on...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/RickyBinks.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/ZachMartin.jpg

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Tag.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Tag.jpg

the
24/7 Express
of
Ricky Binks
and
Zach Martin
. The pairing bonded during their wrestling training over their love of surfing. Binks is Australian and is rarely happier than when he is reminiscing about the great times he enjoyed off the coast of his homeland. Zach however, has made it his life goal to prove to Binks that the surf in America can be just as good as Down Under. He's said that they can't break up as a team until he's right.

Despite first impressions, the 24/7 Express are the top team in the LWA and the reigning
LWA Tag Team Champions
having captured the title during August's annual tag team invitational tournament (more on that later). At said tournament, Binks and Martin were the beneficiaries to a collapse of one of the finest Puerto Rican tag teams ever put together. Said team featured...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/DanielAzaria.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/AlexVidal.jpg

Daniel Azaria
and
Alex Vidal
. Despite very publicly splitting up in August and then waging war on each other for the rest of the season, Alex Vidal and Daniel Azaria are technically still a tag team. They signed up and registered for Season 12 as a tandem and will remain officially so until the turn of the year.

Season 13 should be a very interesting battle between the two youngsters who trained under Cordero Calderon. Seemingly Vidal grew tired of all the adulation that Azaria, the better student, received although if you ask Vidal directly, he'll tell you he was fed up of having to carry his former best friend. Either way, it all proves to be very interesting.

Of course, I have probably forgotten something vitally important and there are some technical things/official events I should probably warn you about but we'll get to those later. For now - I'll leave you with the major players in the Legacy Wrestling Alliance.

Welcome to the world of Legacy Wrestling Alliance - a wrestling promotion unlike any other in the world. To help newcomers, we have included a list of terms and phrases that you won't know from other American promotions and that you'll probably see crop up from time-to-time. There will also be a quick breakdown of the big events and titles that you need to know about.

If there is anything you would like adding to any of these lists just let me know by adding your comment below

GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Puerto Rico is pretty close to Mexico, y'know if you ignore Cuba which sits in the middle of us. I know the American government try to. Anyway, as we're pretty much neighbours, we borrow a few terms from lucha libre.

Tecnico
– the good guy, or babyface to wrestling fans.

Rudo
– the bad guy, or heel to wrestling fans.

Trios
– teams of three.

Atomicos
– teams of four.

MATCH RULES

The majority of our matches follow typical American wrestling rules. They are ended by the first fall. Falls can come by process of pinfall, submission, disqualification or count-out. Disqualifications are at the discretion of the match referee but are ultimately caused by breaking the rules - low blows, illegal moves, foreign objects and all that jazz.

Our tag team matches steal a massive slice of lucha libre. You will rarely, if ever, see an actual tag happen. Instead, when the legal man touches the floor outside of the ring, his partner becomes the legal man.

In multi-person matches (triangle match or four-way match) only two wrestlers are "legal" at any one time. However, should either competitor touch the floor outside the ring, any opponent waiting on the apron can step into the ring and become a legal competitor.

Trios matches are much more common in LWA than they should be - blame Los Numeros - although we sigh away from naming captains. They take place under 2 out of 3 falls rules. In trios matches, pinfalls often occur simultaneously, ending the match more quickly if members of the same team are doing the pinning.

In LWA, all champions can change the stipulations of title defences before they occur as long as they have the agreement of the match referee.

MAJOR TITLES

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Legacy.jpg

Legacy Wrestling Alliance Championship

The holder of the LWA Legacy Championship belt can consider himself as the "top dog" in the yard.
Cordero Calderon
and current holder
La Buey
are joint record holders with four reigns each.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Regional.jpg

LWA Puerto Rican Championship

The LWA Puerton Rican Champion is usually an up-and-comer in the rankings or a veteran on his way towards retirement. The belt has only been in existence for over 18 months but has already had five champions. It has to be defended on every LWA show held in Puerto Rico and means the Champion is constantly busy.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LWA_Tag.jpg

LWA Tag Team Championships

No team has held the LWA Tag Team Championships more than twice. The legendary Flying Bullets were the first Champions way back in June 2000.
The 24/7 Express
are the current stand-out tandem in the always competitive LWA tag division.

Alvaro Buey Sr. Memorial Tournament

The first Alvaro Buey Sr. Memorial Tournament was held in 2009, on the tenth anniversary of his passing. It has been become a regular feature of the LWA calendar every since and is held each and every April. The three day tournament welcomes 12 guests to LWA to compete in a 24 person tournament with 12 warriors hand picked by Alvaro Buey Jr. There have been three different winners so far.

2009
- GUILLERMO BUEY

2010
- CORDERO CALDERON

2011
- POCO LOCO

Legacy Allies Righteous Invitational to All Tournament

The annual LARIAT tournament has been a feature of LWA on and off since Season 1. The Flying Bullets won the first tag team tournament although it was four years before it made a return to LWA. At that stage, it was a bi-annual event although that changed in 2009 and since then it has been held every August. The reigning Tag Team Champions are expected to defend their titles throughout the tournament, and it was the 2011 event that saw the break-up of Alex Vidal and Daniel Azaria's tag team.

2000
- THE FLYING BULLETS

2004
- LOS NUMEROS

2006
- NO WINNER DECLARED

2008
- ALEX VIDAL and DANIEL AZARIA

2009
- SLOW-MO DOJO

2010
- THE 24/7 EXPRESS

2011
- THE 24/7 EXPRESS

... LEGACY WRESTLING ALLIANCE ... presents ...

"
WHERE IT ALL BEGINS AGAIN
"

Thursday 26th January 2012

Don't call it a comeback - because it isn't. It's the start of Season 13 some six weeks after Season 12 ended in rather dramatic fashion. You'll find us at our usual home of the Roberto Montenez Arena for the start of what promises to be our biggest year yet!

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/CorderoCalderon.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/PocoLoco.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/LaBuey.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/ShayKinsella.jpg

Cordero Calderson & Poco Loco versus La Buey & Shay Kinsella

Following the events at "The End is Nigh" there was simply no way Season 13 of LWA could have kicked off with any other main event. Poco Loco, the man who looked likely of becoming the new LWA Legacy Champion, will get his hands on Shay Kinsella, who stopped him from scoring the all-important three count, in a huge tag team match. Kinsella hasn't wrestled in over seven years and will have his work cut out against the crazy luchador desperate for revenge and "The Pride of Puerto Rico" who was also rather unfairly taken out during the previous main event. It promises to be a fascinating match-up.

Kosmo Supreme versus Bruiser Cassidy ©

LWA Puerto Rican Championship

Sometimes things happen in the LWA that make you realise the world is still a pretty nice place filled with people trying to do nice things. Following Bruiser Cassidy's defence of the LWA Puerto Rican Championship at "The End is Nigh," Alvaro Buey Jr tweeted that he would be discussing Cassidy's actions with the Board of Directors. Cassidy didn't blatantly break the rules but he did bend them from the very second the first bell rang. As such, he has been ordered to re-defend his title against Kosmo Supreme and while doing so, he should be "more sporting." I'm not sure what that means but at the very least, it allows Supreme another crack at the title.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/DanielAzaria.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb230/flatvanawful/lwa/RichieSantanaJr.jpg

Daniel Azaria versus Richie Santana Jr

What would a Season Début be without an actual debut? It'd be a farce is what it would be. Thankfully - we've got ourselves a débutante. Richie Santana Jr, son of a wrestling legend, will wrestle his first match inside the LEGACY ring against Daniel Azaria who we believe is still reeling from his defeat at "The End is Nigh." Azaria was cheated by Alex Vidal and Clayton Bennett and will be obviously taking out his frustrations on Santana.

B.F. Reed and The 24/7 Express versus Los Numeros

As a thank you for beating The Frat Pack last month, Los Numeros have been given an opportunity. If any of Uno, Dos or Tres can pin one of The 24/7 Express, the trio will get a shot at the LWA Tag Team Titles in a couple of months time. However, should Ricky Binks or Zach Martin record the fall, Los Numeros won't be allowed a title match at any point in Season 13. It'll be unlucky for them. B.F. Reed is there to balance the teams out apparently.

Diego Monterrey versus Devon Homicide

These two faced off just five weeks ago when Diego stepped in at the last minute to cover for a guest that we won't be inviting back. On that occasion, Monterrey fell to Homicide's impressive Point Blank Piledriver. Following the event, we offered to find both men alternative partners for this season opening match that had already been booked in principle. However, Diego requested an immediate rematch in the hope of reversing the result at the first time of asking.

PR Flash versus Alex Vidal

Cast your mind back just seven months to PR Flash's first match in LWA. He was part of a trio with Alex Vidal and Daniel Azaria taking on Los Numeros - and in the match, we saw the first signs of Vidal's transformation to Rudo when he pulled Flash over the top rope and to the floor to force a tag. Now, he is a fully blown member of the Rudo locker room and PR will have a chance of some retribution.

PLUS!
There will be a seventh match on the show. It is at the bottom of the fax that was sent to me with the match listings but has been smudged so badly that I can't read it. For now, it'll be dubbed the
SPECIAL MYSTERY MATCH!
Boom.

Looks like a strong opening card - can't wait!

Cordero Calderson & Poco Loco versus La Buey & Shay Kinsella

Extremely difficult one to call, so I'm going for a draw instead!

Tough one this, as Kosmo is definitely a star in the making. I'm going for Cassidy through neferarious means because of the size/power difference and because it's usually too soon for a title change on show #1.

Daniel Azaria versus Richie Santana Jr

This should be a fantastic match. I'm going for Azaria only because in PR he's the more established of the two.

B.F. Reed and The 24/7 Express versus Los Numeros

Although Los Numeros are the only real trio in the company, I think Reed and the Express just edge things in pop terms.

Diego Monterrey versus Devon Homicide

Diego Monterrey could be a real asset to the LWA, while Homicide is more of a midcard stalwart.

PR Flash versus Alex Vidal

Vidal is definitely the bigger name of the two.

This looks really good.

I have no idea on this one. I'll copy jdh1's idea and go with the idea that their is too much star-power in this match for anything close to a clean finish.

I don't really think the championship will change hands, but I think Bruiser Cassidy might get himself Disqualified to hold onto the belt and further the feud.

Daniel Azaria versus Richie Santana Jr

I think Santana will have a strong debut. He's certainly talented enough to move up the card.

B.F. Reed and The 24/7 Express versus Los Numeros

The stipulations make this one interesting, but Los Numeros are well past their prime and I just don't see them getting a win over the 24/7 Express.

Diego Monterrey versus Devon Homicide

Very interesting match-up because Devon is a bit more established while Diego is a future star. I'll go for Diego, but I could see Devon winning the first match of a feud between the two.

PR Flash versus Alex Vidal

Don't see PR Flash getting revenge so quickly. I'll take Vidal to cheat to win.

Could go either way, but as this is the beginning of the feud I'll tip the heels to get the upper hand early on.

Could be a good David vs Goliath type match, but no fairytale for the 'David' this time. Is it right that Cassidy should have 85 in cardio ?!!, considering his humongous weight  About 55 would be exceptionally good for a man his size, 85 is un-real.

Daniel Azaria versus Richie Santana Jr

Azaria doesn't seem to be much more than a lower end midcarder, so I tip Santana to make a strong debut.

B.F. Reed and The 24/7 Express versus Los Numeros

Stipulations do make this interesting, but I reckon Los Numeros do get the win and get their title shot.

Diego Monterrey versus Devon Homicide

I'll go slightly against the general grain here, and tip the more established Homicide to grab the win.

PR Flash versus Alex Vidal

PR Flash will put up a plucky underdog performance, but will ultimately be on the end of a squash.
