Moosh
Hello all, this is my first post on the forums but I'll skip all the hooplah and just get to questions I'm pondering and do the personal introductions in another post! (Quick Side Note though... I played TEW & WMMA and am a stat game junky, so I'm not completely out of my element) I got CBH maybe a week ago and figured a week of trial and error would help me out a bit, which it did! I created a new hero (and got promptly mashed...), tried again (and got promptly suicidal), then I spent a bit of time figuring out what stats and abilities were influencing what, and which actions affected which (psyche) stats... So, I'm doing fair on that end I think, but ended up making my own character in the database editor with a bit more starting abilities, and Roleplaying up from there... (Didn't go nuts, but I rarely lose battles, so I may have overdone it a tad) So... my knowledge on the basics is fair, but some intricacies elude me... Anyway, on to the questions... 1. My character has many friends and finally a few allies (which happened with many social calls and reveal identity) and one romantic interest which seems to be stuck at "Flirting"... Are there other components in play here (other than our personality compatibility) that affects the rise and fall of romance level? I mean, are some people just absolutely not going to ever go past a certain level or romance? Or is flirting somehow the top level? I've had the romance % at around 75% and have had "Romance" visited the same person (with no straying!) over 30 times now... it's stopped giving me any reported change "Your romantic relationship has not changed" all the time now, even trying all different slides on the intensity scale. 2. I never use "Train"... am I dumb? It seems that Civic Duty gives me more points, and I'd much prefer to just do a team battle to mash it up and get EXP... I seem to Socialize for social / romance % and to find plots (which I try and complete), team battles for Sales rating and EXP, Recoup / Public appearance to heal up... Rarely using "Civic Duty" and never "Train", because train seems to give less EXP and doesn't give anything happy, like Civic Duty... am I wrong and there is gain to "Train" that I'm not aware of? 3. Is there a Manual or anything that lists all this stuff that I could easily reference and I'm wasting everyones time?? 4. I love Grey Dog... Not so, much a question, really... Ok, rephrase... "Did you know that I love Grey Dog?" Thanks all, I'll be around!
Adam Ryland
Hello all, this is my first post on the forums Welcome to the forums. 1. ...Are there other components in play here (other than our personality compatibility) that affects the rise and fall of romance level? I mean, are some people just absolutely not going to ever go past a certain level or romance? Or is flirting somehow the top level? The two personalities are compared to decide a maximum possible level; if you find that you've stopped making any progress, you have likely hit that maximum and that's as far as you will be able to get with that person. 2. ... Rarely using "Civic Duty" and never "Train", because train seems to give less EXP and doesn't give anything happy, like Civic Duty... am I wrong and there is gain to "Train" that I'm not aware of? Train has the added safety that you can't be attacked, so it's a trade-off between getting less points but not having to worry about being ambushed. 3. Is there a Manual or anything that lists all this stuff that I could easily reference and I'm wasting everyones time?? The help file is available via the link in the title bar on the splash screen; everything else is available via the numerous "?" buttons dotted around the game. Anything that isn't covered is meant to be discovered by the player during gameplay, or can be asked via the boards.
