serotonin187
http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss279/serotonin187/cv2005.png The year is 2005 and Richard Eisen and the Supreme Wrestling Federation are well and truly cemented as the number one promotion in the world with stars like Christian Faith, Engyma, Jack Bruce, Sam Keith and Skull DeBones, whilst they also have exciting young talent with the likes of The Bumfholes, Marc DeBois, Remo, Steve Frehley and Angry Gilmore all waiting in the wings for the opportunity to be the next big thing in SWF. But there’s a challenge on the horizon in the form of Tommy Cornell and Total Championship Wrestling, Former SWF star Cornell successful lead a consortium of financial backers to take over from billionaire whiz kid JK Stallings in 2004 and since then the former Hollyweird Grappling Company as gone from trying to match SWF with a sports entertainment based wrestling with it now going head to head with TCW adopting a more traditional producting focusing on in ring talent. Whilst the big two battle it out for national supremacy Danger and Violence Extreme or DaVE as it’s more commonly referred too are fully established as the cult favourite with it’s counter culture to normal wrestling. DaVE features a plethora of wrestling styles including high flying cruiserweights like Sammy Bach and Teddy Powell, hardcore brawlers like Nemesis, The Peak Brothers and Henry Lee and finally some fantastic technical wrestlers like The New Wave, Eric Tyler, Art Reed and Bryan Holmes. Elsewhere in the USA USPW are quickly becoming more popular with their family friendly approach to wrestling. NYCW still haven’t really expanded out of the Tri-State area but feature a solid roster including future superstar Joey Minnesota, Steve Flash and The Stomper. AAA is still the place to come and wrestle if you’re a female and serious and competition. CZCW offer the best in High flying action any where in the USA with stars like Fox Mask, Remmy Skye, Insane Machine and Snap Dragon all showcasing their talents in the small south western company. And new on the block is MAW lead by the legendary Rip Chord who once he retired opened the company as place for younger workers to train before moving on to big things. In Canada for many a year now as been run by two families, The DeColts and The Stones who’s companies Canadian Golden Combat and North Of The Border Pro Wrestling offer two very different styles of wrestling, CGC is more about the entertainment aspects of pro wrestling whilst NOTBPW are purely about wrestling and nothing else. But there’s a new kid on the block as 4C or Canadian Charisma Championship Wrestling have burst on to the scene looking to challenge CGC and NOTBPW with their hybrid style of wrestling. 2005 saw a massive change for Mexican wrestling as MPWF, OLLIE and SOTBPW all agreed to a draft of their rosters. With the draft came a great mix up of wrestlers ending up in the different companies. All three promotions haven’t broken out of their respective regions they but it’s only a matter of time before Mexico as National promotion they can be proud off. Men of Steel Combat and their three rules of Beer, Blood and Brawling lead the way in the United Kingdom when it comes to wrestling but all that could change as Ring Of Fire and 21 Century Wrestling are both snapping at the heels just waiting to become next big thing in British Wrestling. In the rest of Europe there is only one name of everybody’s lips and that’s Luis Figo Manico and with it his Ultimate Combat Ring. “The Pain from Spain” quickly made sure to establish UCR as the number promotion in Europe with such talent like Byron, Sergei Kalashnov, Joey Beauchamp and Bigger Dan Ewe all making names for themselves with UCR. In Japan the once Golden Canvas Grappling is now a shell of it’s former self as it’s been cast aside for Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods and Pride Glory Honor Wrestling who are becoming more and more popular by the day, will Golden Canvas Grappling survive these tough times? Also in Japan World Level Wrestling continues to offer fans an alternative to the more traditional Japanese wrestling values with their mixture of crazy gimmicks and even crazier high flying wrestlers. The new kid on the block is Warrior Engine XXV the brain child of Japanese wrestling legend Ryu Kajahara. The WEXXV roster seemingly show absolute no concern of their own safety when they wrestle as everything from barbed wire to light tubes are used in the name of entertainment. Whilst 5 Star Supreme Wrestling are still the best company in the world for Joshi wrestling. And finally in Australia there seems to be a huge market as four promotion all fight it out to be the best in the country. All four companies represent different aspects of wrestling, Aussie Rules Wrestling are all about hardcore wrestling, Southern Hemisphere Wrestling like to talk the talk when it comes to wrestling but will they be able to walk the walk? Melbourne Wrestling Federation are the newest promotion in town are looking to break out with their take on traditional wrestling. Then there’s Adelaide Pro Wrestling and their hybrid product that seems to be catching on with fans quicker then they thought it would. shamelessposer
I'm certainly excited for this. The only suggestion I'd make is that you should probably downgrade NOTBPW to Cult status, to make its popularity roughly equivalent to where it is in the current database. It seems that the change is probably an important one for balance reasons.
Stennick
Has there been any work started on this? Are you going to include all of the workers that are in the current data base but weren't there in 2005, are you going to use there 2005 ages or the current ages since some of them have been altered such as Vengeance and I believe Roger Cage? Blake Trask
My perspective is that the 2010 version of the CVerse should probably be considered 'canonical' so far as that type of things go. As I recall 05 also had a lot of guys with extremely high stats compared to the levels in the more recent versions (compare Clark Alexander and Giant Tana in 10 to themselves in 05, and you'll see what I'm saying). Were it me (and I have put thought into this type of mod, but sadly don't really have the time to make something), I would use 10 as my base and work backwards, just using 05 for things like rosters and so on. Stennick
<p>Take it for what you want but when I was doing this mod myself I was editing everyone to the levels that they are in 2010 stat wise unless it was an obvious difference such as some kind of injury. As someone else pointed out stats were very high all across the board in 2005. If you need any help in any area with this let me know. </p><p> </p><p> I understanding wanting to make it as close to 2005 as possible. When me and comradebot were doing this we wanted this to be a playable mod first and worry about sticking exactly to 2005 secondly. Good luck with this its a long process I tried twice <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I know exactly what you mean about the stats, I was looking over the original data and the stats seem a little high. I was thinking of doing the stats somewhere between 2010's original data and The Celt's 2001 data. Take it for what you want but when I was doing this mod myself I was editing everyone to the levels that they are in 2010 stat wise unless it was an obvious difference such as some kind of injury. Good luck with this its a long process I tried twice Firstly thank you for the show of support i shall definitely ask you for help on some of the stuff of course if don't mind helping me. Like I stated above after looking over the 2005 data the stats are definitely a little out there, let me know what you think about doing the stats like i stated above. Stennick
Yeah I think you're onto something. Honestly there is no real way to make it perfect. I think Making it in the middle of the 01 and 10 stats would be best. Obviously some guys get a lot better (Troy Tornado) and some guys start to really feel the effects of age by the time 2010 comes around. I think you're on the right track with it.
