TalonK
Hi, I've read a couple of posts where gamers (bookers) have talked about using excel to book / plan out their fueds, matches, events. I've tried to do this myself with varying degrees of success, and wondered if people who use this system to book could put up either a description or some screen shots of what their spreadsheet looks like. Many Thanks.
shawn michaels
I'd love to do this, but It seems the game doesn't work with my recent version of office 2010...Sure hope that there would be a way to fix this, as it made me lose my will of playing often. Try installing OpenOffice.org's Calc program. It's essentially a free third-party rip-off of Excel, but it should work.

Devilb0y
And i can have Excel installed at the same time? I can use both right? Wouldn't need to uninstall excel? Short answer: yes. They're completely seperate programs. Only difference is that Open Office sometimes works with things differently than Windows. Having said that I can't make TEW import data to an Open Office spreadsheet so you may still encounter the problem.

soxfan93
Are you setting Calc to be the default program for .xls files? If not, it will still try to export to Excel.

Ranson
I mainly use excel to track who in my roster has wrestled/is booked on which show, and as a quick refeerence for titles/pushes without having to dig through the game interface.
Teh_Showtime
Doing round robin tourneys with four blocks would be so much easier if I used Excel Why haven't I thought of that?

Still didn't work. I'm doomed to never having patiente to play global promotions again. It's not easy without some help (Excel is a great help) and eventually i get tired. And i really mean tired, fatigued, exhaust!
Devilb0y
Personally I use good old fashioned Word (actually OpenOffice.Writer but same thing). It's not the best for holding reams of data but I find it works for a variety of different tasks.

Yeah, but having to write down every single detail, plus bouncing back and forward between game menus is definitely a bummer. It would be much more easier i could export my roster. I wouldn't need to write it down, alongised pushes, alignments and so on, as well as change it every time i chenge something in game. It's a lot for someone who loves playing the game, but expects to have fun while doing it. I'm hoping TEW 2013 is even more user friendly than this one. Sure, we've come a long way since TEW 2004...but it's still a very heavy game to play. And i like to see weeks advancing, changes taking place, which is still hard in this game, when booking big feds. So any help we can get is welcomed. Irish Wolf
For some reason TEW checks to make sure you have a compaitble version of Excel on your machine before exporting. Or at least somethign like that. It will export if you have excel 2007 installed but will not for 2010 or even openoffice's calc. I'm not sure why it cannot just export an XLS file and then you can open it with the program of your choosing. It may be possible that if you don't associate XLS files with whatever program you usually open them with (assuming you aren't using Excel 2007) it will export it because it won't find an incompatible program when it exports because none will be associated. This seems odd. I just checked with my game, and it exported just fine. I've got Excel 2010 and nothing else on here. It's never had any other version, and only 2010 for the last two weeks. The machine my game used to be on had 2003, and that of course worked, but I'm not having any issues with 2010.

Great Tiger
Personnaly, I use OpenOffice. I don't use it for my upcoming feus or storylines (I prefer using the TEW inside note section). But, I have made somes spreadsheets for others points (like workers' stats evolution, chemistry tryout, tag team chemistry and finance). But, someone didn't create a little program to exports all this things? It was something like "Excell Exporter" ? It was in the mod section... but I didn't see the thread anymore... sorry if I made a mistake.
BigM
This is my spread sheet. It has my history as my game has spanned acre EWR and TEW. People in bold are current champions and those coming afterwards are who will next have the title. Reigns in blue are ignored because they were stupidly booked. Red is no long with my company and grey is with me but retired now. Also I like my tournament section. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Apgr_YaNUicKdFIzUk13N0tzQTJVYWFWeE1iRy10cnc

I'm a little confused about what all of the sections are, though. I see the 1st part as a 32-man tourney and the second part is for a trios tourney? Or...27-man triple threat tourney? Makes more sense I guess since you can't have 3v3v3. So the next section after that is a 32 tag team tournament (insane, man!) What's that last one? 11 teams of 5? 5-man scramble? Thanks for posting...Let me know how I can buy that Johnny Nitro DVD.

Heh, you're not quite reading it correctly, methinks. First one is a 32-man 1v1 tournament, as you correctly identified (32 > 16 > 8 > 4 > 2 > 1) Second one is a 27-man 1v1v1 tournament, as you guessed (27 > 9 > 3 > 1) Third one probably could be used as a tag tournament chart but judging by the rest of it, it's supposed to be a 1v1v1v1 tournament...and it's not 32-man but 64 (it works from the left and right into the centre) (64 > 16 > 4 > 1) The fourth one looks incredibly cumbersome (it's got two blocks on the left, two on the right and then one down the bottom), but is supposed to be a 1v1v1v1v1 tournament (125 > 25 > 5 > 1) I think if numbers were put in place in the slots where the workers' names are supposed to be for the first round, the bigger tournaments might be a bit clearer to you ...and the fifth appears to just be a copy & paste of the first one. Your close, First 1vs1, second 1vs1vs1, third 1vs1vs1vs1, fourth 1vs1vs1vs1vs1. The last one is a tag team one. I noticed some errors in my formulas, and have now updated it to contain examples of the tournaments. It still a little messy but now you get the idea. Apart from the 1vs1, I've never actually used the others although that sounds like some game that should happen. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Apgr_YaNUicKdFIzUk13N0tzQTJVYWFWeE1iRy10cnc
