kito333 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 In my new game I am starting a fictional universe where in 1988 WWF, AWA, and Jim Crockett Promotions merge to form the first global wrestling promotion. I am truly viewing this as a merger and not a buyout. So I want to keep elements from all three promotions. I am keeping the big PPV or Supercards of the time and I am thinking of going with a new name for the company because I think in a true merger of the time non of these men would agree to take the name of the other company. So any ideas of what I should call it. I was thinking "Global Wrestling", "Global Wrestling Associations", "Championship Wrestling Alliance". Any thoughts on those or different ideas?
soxfan93 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 World Championship Wrestling Alliance. The only one that's not represented well (2 W's from WWF, WA from AWA) is JCP, which eventually become WCW, anyway. However, I disagree with merging all three of them. In my 1987 game, I was able to buy out AWA in late-November, merely 8 months into the game. I was using JCP. I think it makes more sense for JCP and AWA to merge to compete with WWF, but that's just me. Edit: Dammit, there's already a WCWA lol.
Jaysin Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I did a merger of JCP, AWA, WCCW, and Jerry Jarrett's promotion(CWA I think?) to combat WWF's skyrocketing popularity and called the promotion World Class Wrestling(WCW)
TalonK Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 World from WWF Wrestling from AWA Promotions from JCP Thus giving you "World Wrestling Promotions..." I did think of American Wrestling Promotions, (using the same critreia as above) but didn't think it would do well on a Global scale.
rd_dbacks01 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The Federation of American Wrestling Promotions
Mkelm44 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The National Wrestling Alliance.... oh wait, that one is taken.... Going to have to go with WCW actually- The World from WWF, the C from JCPcomes Championship and the Wrestling from AWA.
