moon_lit_tears Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 So I have a picture in the center of my screen. The board is black. I have two colums of icons going down each side of my monitor. Now I go into a game that I like to play. If I alt+tab out or close the game my icons are scattered. Not all of them, just a few. IS there a reason for this or is my computer just stupid?
Hive Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Without being an expert on the area by any means, I *think* it is because the game forces your computer to switch resolutions while ingame - and when resolutions are switched, the icons on the desktop are changed to fit this new resolution. And with icons on both sides of the screen, chances for the icons to be rearranged in a new, fun and exciting order are much bigger. Or maybe your computer is haunted by evil spirits and you need to call an exorcist asap if you don't want Samara from The Ring to crawl out of your monitor when you sleep. I'd call an exorcist just to be on the safe side, if I were you.

It's so weird, and only on the left side of the monitor.
Hive Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 See that's what I thought I assume you are refering to my haunted computer theori. but it's not the ones around the edge or at the top and bottom. Ain't nothing you can do about it.

BHK1978 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Did one of your old computers die with unfinished business?
Hive Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Did one of your old computers die with unfinished business? ...or does the shop that sold you your computer lie upon an ancient Indian burial ground?
moon_lit_tears Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I lowered the size of my icons and now they seem to not move. It's so weird. My old computer never did that. Oh well.

moon_lit_tears Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 http://www.gorbould.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/ghost-in-computer.jpg That's not funny. Last night I forgot I left a youtube video up. I turned the monitor off when I went downstairs to finish dinner. I went to bed, and it must have loped or something because it started playing just as I was about to fall asleep. Scared the hell outta me.
Astil Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 If this is the only weird thing your computer does you're fairly lucky. If I plug in my external fan the sound stops working. If I then plug in a microphone the sound starts working but the mic does not work. If I unplug the fan at this point neither the mic nor the sound works. If I plug in the mic first then the fan the sound doesn't work but the mic does.

I think it's about time you call tech support on this issue. I recommend these guys: http://multimedia.pol.dk/archive/00494/ghostbusters_movie__494643a.jpg

Hive I think I'll pass but if they show up at my house I"m getting autographs and taking pictures and be like "oh be jealous biotches"...Just sayin.
