Off the top of my head I can't remember who works a heel better. As I recall I think they're fairly similar although I once tried to turn them both while keeping the teen idol gimmick (because that seems like a heel gimmick to me) and it didn't do well.

I agree with changing their names though. As a guy from the UK, 'Bumfhole' is dangerously close to 'Bumhole' and this makes them sound ridiculous. I usually go for Randy and Zimmy Colt.

I think Bumfhole is an awesome name for a heel. Not a main event, dangerous heel, but something more akin to The Miz. I used Zimmy as a heel for much of my SWF game. Although I got up to 2019 so I'm not sure how much of that was him growing into the role.

I renamed Zimmy to Zack and Randy to Ryle, both using the surname Braden, i teamed them as The Braden Brothers, i have had Zack in my local company (MLG) and Ryle in PSW both worked as "invading" SWF superstars winning the main titles.

I usually use Zimmy as the heel and Randy as the face.

I can't do it. I don't blame people for renaming them. But I can't do it. It just doesn't feel right to me. I get that its an odd name and it kinda probably limits the upper end of their potential. But as long as its in the SWF, I leave them as the Bumfhole's. Especially considering it seems to be their real names, them using a goofy, questionable, and almost suggestive name just seems... very SWF to me. It feels like it fits the product. Its like leaving Lobster Warrior as Lobster Warrior, rather than having him ditch the costume and revert to his real name... I get it when people do that, but I've come to prefer sticking with the stuff that seem goofy yet still very SWF.

Agreed 100%. I love that the only thing holding them back is a silly real name, and I also feel like this would certainly be treated as a wink-wink dirty joke in a promotion that feels a lot like the promotion that gave us Val Venis, Meat, PMS, etc. Can't stand Lobster Warrior unmasking, either- it'd be like WWE unmasking Rey Mysterio- a way to lose merchandising while making a worker look blander.

I also always felt that the Bumfhole name, in addition to being a bit of a joke, was a reference to Michael Shawn Hickenbottom's truly embarrassing real name. Gotta keep that oblique reference!

Kinda like the Poffo brothers? One kept the name, the other didn't and the latter became a star/all-time great?

I can accept changing their names when bringing them to a new promotion. Either SWF have copyrighted the name, or you want to copyright a new name, rock on. Playing SWF and changing their surname willy-nilly? It would be like WWE suddenly switching Jack Swagger's name. It's a silly name, sure, but "I'm Jack Cruise now" seems wrong.

I'd consider Zimmy turning on his brother, dropping all family ties and the name and just going by "Zimmy". Or "Z". OOH! Z-Man! And the crowd derisively chant "Buuuuumfhooole.... Buuuuumfhooole" at him.

John Hennigan AKA John Morrison AKA Johnny Blaze AKA Johnny Nitro AKA Johnny Onyx AKA Johnny Spade AKA Johnny Superstar suggests that name changes can help.

The Bumfholes are well established in the SWF, however, and I'd suggest that renaming both unless done as a team probably isn't going to work - in the real world, at least. You could have Zimmy turn on Randy and become Z-Man or whatever, but then to have Randy become Randy Colt the next week would seem odd. The logical storyline for me is to have one or the other grow tired of all the Bumfhole jokes, but the other be too proud of the name/their family to cosndier dropping it. That leads to tension and the split, and logically one keeps the name while the other doesn't.

Randy seems to have the bigger upside in most diaries I see, but I've always preferred Zimmy (I think he has better performance stats, and if memory serves is a better person to have backstage).

Of course, there's the obvious example already mentioned of one brother keeping their birth name and one getting renamed. Zimmy Savage, anyone? :p

I wish healthy C-verse discussions like these werent so few and far between these days... good stuff.

Changing the B'holes names doesnt sit with me much either, exception being if they were to be split up, as mentioned. One thing that irks me about them is their Wierd gimmick rating is poor... even though their names, renders and especially tag name seem to fit it. I really want to turn them heel and give them some eery circus act gimmick, with that typical circus music as an entrance and a voice announcing "The Amaaaazing Bumfholes". But they're unable to pull it off. I still do usually turn them heel (no room for two face brother pairings) with an infatuation with Biggz Boyz' valet Jessie leading to a fued/turn. Although next time I might split them...

As for Lobster Warrior, I'm guilty of unmasking him numerous times as I see him in a different boat. Its as if he's stuck in a costume/gimmick that is pre-risque SWF and therefore the move can be justified... to me at least anyway.

I've never unmasked Lobster Warrior, but that's only because I've never had him long enough. My only SWF game of substantial length was in the Road To Glory challenge, where I got the job in 2015. An already-angry Lobby left within the first few months. Alas.

I'd unmask him, but I'd do it as part of a major storyline, and only after I've gotten all of the fun I could out of a man in a lobster mask. Similar to Rick Law, in many respects. I dig the gimmick, but it's not something I'll keep an interest in after 1-2 years. So I'd have someone take his mask. Maybe I'd put together a new Underwater Union, and have an upstart usurp his throne. Maybe someone with nice hair.

With Lobby, I'd also take a page from Stone Cold Shark Boy, and put other gimmicks on top of the lobster thing. Convict Crustacean, perhaps, to extend the life of the mask.

You bring up a good point, Self, and something I realized yesterday - I have far far less issue with making these kind of changes if its done as part of a storyline. Either changing the Bumfhole's or unmasking Lobby. Its the thought of having an abrupt sudden change that is not explained at all on-screen... Such things do obviously happen in "real" wrestling, but it always struck me as a poor creative choice. So it just seems like something that doing in my own game, it would bother me.

I don't think I've ever changed the Bumfhole's name in an SWF game I've played. I have unmasked Lobby a few times, and if I signed Randy or Zimmy with another promotion, I would quite likely relabel them. While I realize that a goofy-sounding name like "Bumfhole" would likely limit their top-end potential in real life, it doesn't in the game. And even if it did, I'm actually okay with that. In any SWF game I run, I find that I never lack for potential superstars, so having two talented, entertaining workers with max tag team experience together who are limited to the upper midcard isn't terrible in my opinion.

The way I typically envision and use the Bumfhole's at this point is basically a mix of a babyface version of Miz & Morrision and the Motor City Machine Guns. It doesn't really fit entirely with the "teen idol" gimmicks... yet it kinda does (and that's easy enough to change). Stylish, trendy, pop-culture aware... but they always have fun with it. Doing stuff like Tweeting during matches or crashing red carpet events. Part of that is having them use endless catch-phrases that revolve around the name. Dumb stuff like "You can't keep a good Bumfhole down". Not just one or two but endless ones they spout. So having them change their last name to something that isn't goofy and offensive-sounding actually takes a bit away from how I've come to use them in SWF games. Maybe that's why I dislike the idea of changing their name while still in Supreme...?

I'm writing this as someone who has only played the game using real world mods and not the C-Verse. Yer my bad, somebody call my Momma....

Anyway, the way I'd change their name, role, etc was to 'Fire Them...' take them off TV, send them to development for 3 to 6 months, where you can change their names, and character. Then you can bring them back as a 'NEW' team who run rough-shot through your tag-team division, until they capture the tag-titles..

Just an idea.
