Position Changes

Riddle me this: Just tried a couple of positions changes -- two guys who were supposed to have "very good" potential at the position I'm moving them to. After the switch, their potentials dropped from the mid-teens at their old positions to a "3" and a "7!" What 's up with THAT?

I have switched 5 players. 4 were athletes, 1 got better, 2 about the same and 1 got a little worse. I changed 1 player without the A and his skills were cut almost in half...Seems to be pretty accurate to me based on what I have seen.

Yes, I understand that's the way it works. However, my beef is that is position-change window gives you a preview of the results before the change is made. So when I see that a position change will result in "very good" potential at a new position, I would not expect to see a player's potential rating drop from "15" to "3" when he's switched. If he wasn't an (A) when recruited or his adaptability training was low, then I would just expect his projected potential at a new spot to be weak -- not to be very good, suckering you into changing him only to find out you've ruined his career! (I've seen this happen many times.)

That isn't a preview. It's a projection, but right after you change a player's position it doesnt always give u an accurate potential rating... Once I moved an athletic quarterback to safety, for the first season he was a 1/2... eventually he made it to 7/8. It's a risk-reward deal when changing positions because nothing is garanteed...

What you see as suckering is what happens in reality, you take a chance and nobody can predict the outcome......It is how it should be in the game. You can always switch him back :)
