November 1988 - Jim Crockett Promotions purchased by Turner Broadcasting and renamed to World Championship Wrestling

February 1989 - Ricky Steamboat defeats Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight championship in a highly-regarded match

May 1989 - Flair wins the belt back in another highly-regarded match

August 1991 - Ric Flair leaves WCW for the WWF over dispute with President Jim Herd

February 1993 - Eric Bischoff promoted to Executive Vice President of WCW - Ric Flair returns to WCW from the WWF

June 1994 - Hulk Hogan signs with WCW

September 1995 - WCW Monday Nitro debuts on TNT

May 1996 - Scott Hall debuts on WCW Nitro, followed by Kevin Nash, forming The Outsiders

July 1996 - Hulk Hogan turns heel at Bash at the Beach, forming the New World Order with The Outsiders - WCW Nitro begins to beat WWF Raw is War consistently in the ragings

* Rumors are swirling that creative wants to bring WCW Break Out back by the first of the year as a third brand to serve as a type of middle ground between developmental and the A-Show's.

* Tyrone Evans has been signed to a developmental contract.

* Heath Miller has been signed to a developmental contract.

* Kipp Christianson has been signed to a developmental contract. Officials seem to be high on the giant, and, if he develops as planned, plan on bringing him into upcoming Muhammad Hassan storyline.

* Shinsuke Nakamura has been signed to a contract for the main roster. Officials seem intent on putting him with a re-debuting Daisuke Sekimoto in a tag team.

* Eddie Edwards has been signed to a developmental contract. Officials like Edwards potential as a potential focal point of the Cruiserweight division.

* Trish Stratus recently reached out to WCW about coming in on a 1 yr deal to help with the building of the Womens division. Ms. Stratus seems to be at discontent at the seemingly unraveling of her hard work in building the WWE's women division up to something credible.

I am interested in reading more about this once the backstory and roster is updated in the first few months of this thread.

 

I love WCW revivals and have been toying with the idea of a WCW revival alternate mod to my 2012 release. Just hard after so long justifying a revival for me. Makes more sense to leave it dead and not even try to go down that path.
