brewer86
Hey folks, Does anybody know if theres a good storyline knocking about for the buildup to the money in the bank match? I haven't watched Raw/Smackdown properly around MITB in a few years so I don't know how they tend to be booked (although following WWE creative probably isn't the way forwards...) I've looked in the three versions of the megapack that is knocking about (kudos to the guy that did those - they rule), but can't see anything. If I have to I'll try and knock something up myself, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to. Thanks for reading
joehelmer
Just do a eight person unchained storyline, have the eight wrestlers involved win a qualification match each and then after that have them attacking eachother and hyping the match in promos. BigM
There use to be qualifying matches, but now a days with 2 matches of 8 men each they just kind of select them all of a sudden. Hype the match with random matches between the competitors. That's basically what they do.
cappyboy
This is something Sonfaro should do sometime. The storyline WWE used to build up to the initial Money In The Bank.
JWideman
MITB is no different from a #1 contender story, really.
Mkelm44
Well the WWE approach is "take 6 guys and declare them all Money in the bank contenders" but WWE creative is not so much on the buildups. I've eliminated MITB from my PPV schedule because to me it's a gimmick match more than something you should build an entire PPV around, but that's my choice. What I'd suggest though might be to do something like this. Change the final from 6 workers to 4. There's a reason to this, so just hang with me. Since you can only book 8 guys in a storyline, have each one win a 1 v 1 in a quarterfinal match. Set it up so that Storyline Wrestler 1 wins against a match versus any wrestler not in the storyline. This will give you your 8 "semi-finalists." Pair them off in qualifiers. For interest sake do them as some gimmick like no DQ or falls count anywhere. This will give you four guys with some momentum. Give the four guys lots of interview time over the month. At the PPV have a four way ladder match. Enjoy!
soxfan93
I've eliminated MITB from my PPV schedule because to me it's a gimmick match more than something you should build an entire PPV around, but that's my choice. I also eliminate the Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View and replace it with Fully Loaded. I have two MITB matches at WrestleMania, one for each brand. As for the storyline being limited to 8, I used to use this method to build to a dual-brand single MITB match: I just pick 4 winners and 4 losers, put them in a storyline (2 matches on Raw, 2 on Smackdown), then evolve it to a new storyline (with 2 of the winners) with 2 more matches (Raw), then do the same for Smackdown. That way, every qualifying match counts toward the storyline heat, and I get the 8 finalists. In games where I have one for each brand, I start building MITB the week following the Royal Rumble. That way, there's plenty of time for qualifying matches, promos, build, etc. 8-9 weeks.
