Transfers vs Leaving Early for pros

Recommended Posts

In year 2 of my Buckeyes dynasty, my two back up qb's - both young with huge potential, ended up transferring because of frustration with playing time. Then in week 4, my starting Heisman winning QB left early for the pros, leaving me with zero decent QB's. In real life, wouldn't the two youngsters wait to see what happens with the senior since he was on the possible early list? Shouldn't this be taken into consideration in the AI. Also, one of the two that transferred was a freshman - how can he be frustrated with playing time?? Maybe you should find out in week 1 who's really leaving so you can better plan out who you're going after in transfers

It would be good to know who is going pro before the transfers. I haven't seen anything as extreme as you mention, but I can foresee something like that happening to me. And I have had a transfer when someone ahead of him has left for the pros. I guess in real life they may talk, but I suppose they don't know for certain until someone declares for the draft. I keep hoping that some who turn blue (very good) will stay for their senior season. Texas has had a tradition of that with Ricky Williams, Roy Williams, and probably (hopefully) Vince Young. That is not necessarily representative, but Matt Leinart stayed after winning the Heisman. What are the factors in whether someone who has already achieved Blue status chooses to stay, and about what % of the time do they stay?
