WWE 2013: Rebuilding the brand & Building the network

WWE is in a reasonable position heading into 2013, despite ratings and PPV buy rates being at an all time low one thing that cannot be denied is that WWE tried very hard throughout 2012 to begin rebuilding the product. It started with legends returning like The Rock and Brock Lesnar, they gave a year long + title reign to CM Punk bringing credibility back to the belt, and the quality of wrestling is the best the WWE has ever produced with 5 star matches appearing at most PPV's last year like Punk/Jericho, Sheamus/Bryan Punk/Cena Cena/Rock Cena/Lesnar Punk/Bryan Ziggler/Cena the list goes on and on.

 

WWE in order to make more money have increased the programming significantly with an added hour of Raw as well as two new shows which for now are not doing too bad. This is all making baby steps towards Vincent Kennedy McMahon's dream of having a WWE network, in the most recent interview the hope is to have it running before the end of 2013, with a major TV show most week days to help draw in viewers.

 

The end of 2012 reminded some fans of a time period in 2002 in which many developmental stars were brought up to the main roster with big pushes, the like of John Cena, Brock Lesner, Dave Batista and Randy Orton all in that time period. In the past year characters like Ryback, Damien Sandow, Brodus Clay, The Shield and Big E Langston have all made there mark in the WWE which looks to have a bright future in the hands of them talents.

 

Vince is now looking to kick 2013 off with a bang and lead it through to a successful year with the hope of the Network being launched at some time, can he do it?
