Eric Bischoff: Hot off the heels of an amazing Pay Per View, Bash at the Beach, WCW Saturday Night returns with more questions than answers.

Tony Schiavone: You got that right Eric, who does this punk Roddy Piper think he is coming un invited to our Pay Per View and being the deciding factor in the main event.

Bobby Heenan: Will you two shut up! All that matters is the nature boy, the heart and soul of WCW, the living legend Ric Flair is still WCW World Heavyweight Champion, all I can say is Wooooo.

Hulk Hogan kicks off the show and gets a great reaction on the way out, he thanks the fans for their support and concern after what happened last night. He said the match between he and Flair was historical, and it was about to have a historical ending with him becoming World Heavyweight Champion but it was ruined by three men he knows very well, he reminds the fans of his battles against Piper for many years but he can still not come to terms or understand why he, Meng and Sid Vicious attacked him. He tells the three to come to the ring and go face to face with him and the Hulkamaniacs, after a while of no response Hogan leaves the ring in search of them.

A predictable but necessary match for Ultimo Dragon to compete in, it got him slightly more over with the crowd and also saw him put on a solid display. A good overall grade considering both are very low down the car in terms of push. Ultimo Dragon picked up the win with a Dragon Sleeper.

Sting comes to the ring and states he would like to publicly thank The Guardian Angel for stepping in for him against Vader, he says that Guardian was unlucky in defeat and also reveals that during the match after receiving a moonsault from Vader, The Guardian has several cracked ribs and will be out of action indefinitely. He then says he doesn't need anyone to fight his battles anymore as he is almost medically cleared for action, he says he has spoken to Nick Bockwinckle and the main event of WCW Saturday Night next week will be Sting vs Vader.

Probably the best match of the night, although that's not saying much due to it being a lackluster WCW Saturday Night, but still it was a good showing b both competitors who's styles work well together. Brian Pillman picked up the win after Air Pillman on the 8 minute mark.

Post match Jean Paul Levesque smashes Pillman from behind using a sledgehammer, he calls the weapon the weapon of the rich which is why it is in the hand of someone like him and not a thug like Pillman. He says he's sick of seeing trash like Brian Pillman competing on WCW when it should be someone respectable, fearless, charismatic, strong, handsome and rich, someone like.... Jean Paul Levesque.

This match wasn't to the level of the Booker T/Cactus Jack match or the tag team contest but it continued to add to the rivalry. It continued to show that Booker T and Cactus Jack are the stars of the tag teams and look to have the brighter future. Stevie Ray managed to get some momentum for Harlem Heat when he won with a powerslam pinfall combination.

Considering this match had two high profile WCW wrestlers battling the rating wasn't much better than the opening contest which was disappointing. Regal tried to control the match with ground based offence but Duggan didn't sell the submissions or tough style as well as others have, Duggan quickly gained momentum and almost had Regal when he set up for the Two Point Clothesline but he ran into an belly to belly exploder suplex, Regal then got he pin for the victory.

The commentators are breaking down the highlights from the last match when they get word of an assault backstage, a camera man runs to the back and catches Piper, Sid and Meng attacking Hogan's manager Jimmy Hart in the backstage area. Once the camera man arrives officials soon follow and the three then flee the scene.

This was an interesting triple threat contest, most weren't certain on a winner due to WCW surprisingly announcing this way to decide the #1 contender only the night before. The elimination contest had plenty of controversy throughout starting with when Anderson missed a clothesline and took out the referee, this led to Austin landing a low blow on Roberts before hitting what the announcers called a 'Stunner', the referee made the count only for Nick Bockwinckle to come out and re-enter Roberts in the match due to Austin low blowing him. Roberts quickly took advantage and got Austin with the DDT to eliminate him. Anderson and Roberts went back and forth for a while util Arn suffered the same fate, being pinned after a DDT. Roberts was declared the winner and the number one contender.
