The Monday Night Wars are long over, the WWF was victorious, they brought out there competition in WCW and ECW but ultimately failed when delivering the 'dream angle' of an invasion. The WWF has failed to keep all the audience that ECW and WCW had built and there own audience has started shrinking slightly. Never has the wrestling world seen a roster with so much star power, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Triple H are just a handful of superstars the WWF possesses, with many of their top superstars ageing the WWF is about to start a transitional period in which they will build a new crop of younger stars from either their current roster or from OVW, this is the perfect time for other promotions to kick off as many fans might not like the transitional period of the WWF.

Xtreme Pro Wrestling and World Wrestling All-Stars have attempted to fill the void left by WCW and ECW but have failed in a big way. New promotions Chikara and Ring of Honor are current in a fund raising stage and are expected to be running in a few months. But one more promotion is looking to make an 'impact', and it started with a fishing trip with the Jarrett family. Jeff and Jerry came up with a new concept of weekly shows but instead of being on a network, they would be straight to PPV, the idea seemed outrageous to a lot of people with complaints that monthly PPV's are too many, never mind weekly. Once it was revealed that the Jarrett's had been working on this idea many fans laughed it off, claiming no such thing would ever happen....

That was until Jerry contacted Dusty Rhodes, who saw great potential in the idea and wanted most of the PPV's to have a theme to keep fans interested. He also discussed the possibility of only having several full time wrestlers and then having a revolving door of other talent that could work the themed PPV's as it would allow them to widen the theme's possible and also allow them to dive into several different fan bases. Dusty came on board with the idea and the Jarrett's pitched him as being the authority figure when the promotion is up and running as well as being the head writer backstage, Dusty has always been considered a creative genius in wrestling and now looks to be his chance to run a promotion his way.

Within the next two months, Jeff Jarrett finished all bookings and began working solely on getting Total Non-stop Action running, his and his fathers many connections with wrestlers, as well as Dusty's connection with the NWA made the process 100 x easier. Many wrestlers went public on being excited to work for TNA and then the announcement came that the NWA had invested and it would carry the prestigious titles of the NWA banner. With the first PPV coming up in May, the pressure is starting to hit, will NWA:TNA rise to new heights or fall to bottom of the wrestling world?

NWA/TNA is up and running and are preparing to air their first show. The crew backstage as well as the workers are motivated and determined to make NWA/TNA a success and to hopefully be a viable alternative for the WWF. No signings have been announced yet with Dusty Rhodes hoping to surprise some fans when revealing match cards before each show.

NWA/TNA's weekly PPV's is kicking off in a big way with 'NWA/TNA: X-Division Title Tournament Week 1'. This week will see the opening round of the X-Division title tournament with four quality matches between some of the best wrestlers on the Indy scene in the world, the Jarrett's as well as Dusty Rhodes have spent several weeks watching tapes and scouting at events to find the best talent as they see the X-Division as a part of TNA that can separate it from any other promotion, rather like WCW's cruiserweight division.

Eric Young vs Low Ki

Eric Young was recently scouted at a Border City wrestling event when he put on a great performance against for ECW star Sabu. He has worked the Indy scene in Canada for a few years but is now getting his chance in a mainstream promotion. Young has charisma and good in ring ability, many predict him to have a bright future in NWA/TNA and it could start against Low Ki in this tournament. His opponent is much more well known working in the main events of most promotions in the US, his biggest achievement came just last week when he was crowned the first ever ROH World Champion, can he continue this success in TNA?

Kid Kash vs Paul London

Kid Kash was a long time ECW star who won the television title and had the odd feud with main event talent, in 2001 he signed for WCW but never appeared due to the company being sold to the WWF, he is now back and looking to set the X-Division alight. Paul London has recently finished wrestling school and began working the independents last year, he has caught a few eyes with his great aerial ability and is also working for ROH as well as TNA.

Amazing Red vs Jerry Lynn

Amazing Red hasn't worked for long but is already being touted as one of the best high flyers in the world today, giving his nickname of 'amazing' by Savio Vega, big things are expected from Red in TNA. He's facing one of the most talented wrestlers in the world today, Jerry Lynn has worked for every big promotion including WWF, WCW and ECW, he has held the ECW World and Television titles as well as many titles in Indy promotions, could quite possibly be the favorite in the competition.

Jeff Jarrett vs Ron Killings

In a special attraction match, former WCW World Champion and the co-founder of NWA/TNA takes on Ron Killings, a wrestler who many say has the potential to be a huge star, he is a former two time WWF Hardcore champion but was never fully utilized in the WWF. In his debut match he has the chance to prove he is a top competitor by beating Jeff Jarrett.

AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels

Dubbed 'the phenomenal' AJ Styles is predicted to be the future of wrestling, at his young age he has already had over three years of experience from NWA Wildside and WCW, a feud between him and upcoming opponent Christopher Daniels has just kicked off in ROH and is being brought over to TNA. Daniels has several more years experience than AJ and is considered the 'king of the indies' having won titles all around the world. Daniels has had several try-outs with the WWF but has never been offered a contract despite his amazing in ring ability, he has chose to focus on TNA now and specifically on the X-Division Title tournament.

Predictions:

Eric Young vs Low Ki

Kid Kash vs Paul London

Amazing Red vs Jerry Lynn

Jeff Jarrett vs Ron Killings

AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels

Today it was announced that NWA/TNA have signed working agreements with New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, with just hours remaining until their first show it looks unlikely any stars from the promotions will be on the card, however we can expect them in the near future as Dusty Rhodes had this to say: "We were in talks with many promotions about making a working agreement as we felt we needed to have good contacts with many other promotions as it will help us bring in some of the best talent in wrestling. Quite a few promotions didn't agree to any such deal but we are pleased to announce that these three have, the deal costs TNA an awful lot of money but it also helps the company grow when we bring in some of the big names from Japan or Mexico, so expect the biggest stars to be performing in a TNA ring very soon".

TNA have also started promotional video packages online via their website showing a figure in intense training and during dominant scenes, all over the video package are phrases like 'domination', 'monster', 'destruction' etc. Early predictions online seem to believe that the hype is for Ken Shamrock although with TNA's recent working agreement packs being announced it is very uncertain at the moment.
