However they have lacked the ability and/or financial backing to move up the ranks and challenge the larger promotions for brand supremacy. Former WCW, WWE, TNA and ECW stars have called the promotion home and one time or another however the buzz of these stars haven't been enough to bring the attention of the casual wrestling fan to the promotion. Many have thrown around ideas that could help ROH take that next step, however nothing new has been implented that has worked. In the latest and perhaps most shocking development, ROH has sold control to business man Andrew Woodhouse for an undisclosed amount of money. Mr. Woodhouse had a closed door meeting with several members of upper management last night and upon completion of the meetings issued the following statement via our website:

I can honestly say that I have never watched the ROH product and no little about their history or current wrestling 'storylines'. My decision to purchase this company came from my belief that professional wrestling is on the verge of another "boom" period. With WWE still dominating the global market and TNA slowly gain ground, I feel that fans are finally getting variety. However ROH is losing the battle and will need to find ways to win the war. However it is at least in the war, although small, it has the resources to factor into the outcome.

I watch Hulk Hogan on TNA trying to relive the past success of WCW and I watch WWE piggy back off the past of past stars that the Undertaker, Rock, and others. Wrestling_Matters
Week 1, January 2013 Results (CUEUP: A cut down version of the ROH's theme song plays as the original ROH logo slowly fades in. As the monologue continues, ROH's logo changes from era to era, finally reaching an impressive new logo.) (V/O) And what was once ordinary... becomes legendary. To those of you just joining us, welcome. To those of you who have been waiting for us to step it up and have tuned in to see the changes, welcome back. To all of you, welcome to the future. THIS is the RING OF HONOR. BOBBY CRUISE: HELLOOOOOO WRESTLING FANS! (Crowd pops!) (CUTTO: The camera pans quickly. the crowd is hyped. Several signs are shown that are of mixed opinion, several pro the potential changes to the ROH brand other others are obviously negative.) NIGUEL MCGUINESS: Bobby, we are all on pins and needles wondering what is coming tonight. Woodhouse’s potential changes might be worth the price of admission tonight. BC: What can I say, Niguel. It's been a long time coming. And I notice you've got quite the smile on too, you chucklehead. NM: That's no way to speak to your betters, Bobby. But I'll let it slide this once. BC: Fans, we are here in at the Hammerstein Ballroom and this place is rocking. (CUTTO: More quick crowd shots and signs. Behind them is a ZZ Top looking guy holding a sign that says "We Want Wrestling Not Sports Entertainment.) BC: The ROH has a chance to showcase some brand new talent from around the wrestling world if we can just keep our act together, Niguel. I've seen some familiar faces in the back and they are all walking on egg shells. Hopefully some light will be shed on things tonight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ((The camera cuts to an odd sight -- it appears to be someone's... living room?) Toys on the floor. The living room floor. Looks like the kids forgot to put things away when it was time for bed. A man bends over to pick the toys up. The man used to be a wrestler... it was a long time ago. Last time we saw this man in a wrestling ring around these parts was long ago. Oh, he's been around a few other places since that time... but mostly he's been spending time with the family. This is "The Ultimate Warrior"! As the Warrior puts the toy away into a crate, in walks his wife.. "Finally got them settled down for the night." The Warrior looks up, his thoughts interrupted. "Good to know." He approaches his wife, who folds her arms. "So," She says to her husband, "you think you can handle a return to the ring on top of raising these kids?" She smiled at the Warrior, who just cracked a grin. "Hey, it was these kids who convinced me I should return to that ring," he said. "Yes, you had a grand old time showing them the footage of your old matches," She replied, "but I think there's more to it than that." The Warrior sighs. "You know me too well," he said. "I don't think I ever lost the love for being in that ring. I missed it a lot more than I expected. Deep down, I wanted to go back. I just wasn't ever sure where to go. It wasn't until I happened to run across Twitter and found the talk of ROH making changes. And Matt Hardy talking it up there." "I never knew you and Matt to be friends," she said. "Acquaintances would be more like it," the Warrior replied. "But what can I say... curiosity got the best of me, I just figured I do a random search, and there he was, talking about the ROH trying to go big time." "That place? You choose a smaller company for your great comeback?" "Only smaller for a short time," Warrior said. "Somebody else took it over. Figured if ROH was getting a fresh start, it would be the best place to make my return." He embraces his wife. "Besides, there's going to be some familiar faces there. Could be a time to revive some old rivalries... maybe some new ones are waiting. And a chance to see if I've still got what it takes." A sigh. "And I figure I owe it to my fans to go out the right way." They share a quick kiss. Warrior then steps back. "I'm glad you understand why I want to go back," he said. "I know we settled down and are living a good life... you with your work, me with mine... but what are you gonna do when you get that itch again? Especially when two kids are asking you all the time about it. 'Will you ever get back in the ring, Daddy?' The question just never stopped coming." She just smiled. "Well, you know the kids will be watching you. To think, they'll finally get a chance to see Daddy do what he loves to do, live on TV, instead of just pulling out a DVD from the files." "Yeah, they'll get a kick out of it, I'm sure," Warrior replied. "I just hope they know what to expect. Wrestling is a world where you never know what to expect." She gave a quick embrace to her husband. "Oh, I know what to expect... that you're gonna do just fine. And that you won't be just spending your time reminscing any more." She turned to leave the room, but then stopped and turned back with a smile. "But in the meantime, you better make sure those tights of yours still fit." She left as the Warrior cracked another grin. Making sure those tights fit is something that definitely comes with wanting to return to the ring. (fadeout) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Zombie Princess defeats Brian Cage (D+) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (CUT TO: Andrew Woodhouse, wearing a ROH Blazer over a white dress shirt, red tie, grey dress pants. He appears to be in good shape despite years of office work and board meetings. He stands at the top of the entrance ramp with a microphone in his hand.) Woodhouse: Well, here I am in the legendary ballroom — (The crowd, naturally, cheers at a reference to them.) Up next is what EVERYONE has been waiting for. The changes to ROH, the start of something amazing. What better way to bring about this news than to bring out your current singles champions. aLadies and gentlemen— (The lights go BLACK as the large screen at the top of the ramp starts to pulsate with the names COLE and STEEN.) (CUE UP: Hard rock music) The screen goes black as the volume of the music dips. And then the letter X appears on the screen in neon green and covers the names of Steen and Cole as if ‘X’ing them away. Woodhouse (laughing): You won’t see our current champions here tonight.! I have security and Mr. Cornette meet them at the door when they attempted to enter the arena. They may hold the titles however they didn’t earn them in MY RING OF HONOR. I’m not sure if I need them or their titles anymore. Things are going to change around here and I want to set the example to all the other employees in MY company. NO ONE is so important that they can’t be replaced. (The crowd begins to boo and chant various insults at the new owner.) Woodhouse: It doesn’t matter it you are a wrestler, manager, announcer, camera man, or janitor. Anyone can be let go and replaced. I just proved that by sending Steen and Cole home for the night… who knows when and/or if they will be back. I AM ROH… I WILL LEAD US TO THE PROMISE LAND. I AM ANDREW WOODHOUSE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The American Wolves defeated the Headbangers C- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rhino defeated Mike Mono C- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt Hardy defeated El Generico C+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (FADEIN: An exterior shot of the a rehab center outside Atlanta, Georgia. It’s a massive two-story building.) (CUTTO: Andrew Woodhouse standing at the front desk talking quietly with a receptionist..) Woodhouse: Room 227? RECEPTIONIST: Yes Sir. But… (A doctor walks up to the conversation.) DOCTOR: I assume you’re here to see your friend. Woodhouse: That’s right. (CUTTO: Woodhouse knocking on the door of room 227. He waits a second but there’s no answer. Finally he turns the knob, pushes the door open and walks inside.) (CUTTO: Woodhouse inside the room. He looks distraught.) Woodhouse: Your brother told me you admitted yourself last weekend. MAN O/S: Did he? Woodhouse: He was worried about you. We all are. MAN O/S: That’s nice. This isn’t the best time. Woodhouse: I know I should have said something sooner, should have seen that you were struggling, but I’ve been so damn busy. I know that’s not a good excuse… MAN O/S: It isn’t about you. It’s ok, man. Woodhouse: No, its not. You’re my employee… MAN O/S: Ah…there it is. Woodhouse: You need to get out of here. Come back to work. We’ll figure this out. MAN O/S: Can’t you see that’s the last thing I need? I’m sick, Andrew. I’ve known it for years, but people in my family -- we don’t talk about feelings. Hell, we don’t even talk to each other period anymore. The last promotion I was in, it ended very poorly. Woodhouse: You’re not sick. You’ve just got anger problems. Let’s just get out of here and get you back to work. MAN O/S: You’re going to try and legally make me return to wrestling? Woodhouse: (He pauses, then says as he turns away). Call it tough love. I’ll be in touch. (A nurse walks in with fresh flowers.) NURSE: Looks like someone has a friend. (Woodhouse turns back and looks at the man off screen. They share an awkward moment.) Woodhouse: What?! They’re not from me… MAN O/S: Must be from one of my freaks… (Fade To Black)
