Thank you for your comments. Hope you follow along. I am shocked at the passing of Necro as well. The deaths in this game always surprise me (so I guess they're doing their job)

COLT CABANA VS. STEVIE RICHARDS VS. RHINO

As all new promotions go, Pro Wrestling Independent had it's pecking order, but it was quite a different scenerio then any other promotion in the country because of their recent birth. With not track record in PWI to stand on for anyone, fans and management alike formed their opinions on their career as a whole, and who deserved the chance to be the first champion based on a variety of unreleased methods. Joey Ryan, Stevie Richards, Colt Cabana and Rhino seemed to have that fit.

Joey Ryan started having problems with Colt Cabana from literally day one of PWI's short history. Ryan, cheating his way to a victory over Cabana at PWI-1 and then went on to celebrate excessively when Cabana was still down in the ring. Cabana got back at Ryan and seemed to be willing to let bygones be bygones. At PWI-2, Ryan went on to attack Cabana and the two have been gunning for one another since.

As for Stevie Richards, he came in and arroganty announced he wasn't among the top guys in this company, he WAS the top guy in this company and he would prove it whenever he needed to. Few could argue with Richards track record when compared to the rest of PWI's relatively young roster. After all, he was the WWE Hardcore Champion 21-times and has held multiple independent championships as well as being an original roster of the Philadelphia famed Extreme Championship Wrestling.

And finally Rhino. Rhino's record (like Richards) is hard to argue with. In 2001, he landed #10 on Pro Wrestling Illustrated's PWI 500. He's also a former TNA Heavyweight champion as well as a WWE United States champion. Rhino is very deserving of this chance to be the top wrestler in PWI, and (also like Richards), he is a famed roster of the ECW roster that this city to this day holds near and dear.

This match is a four-way elimination match and will see the sole survivor become the first ever Pro Wrestling Independent Heavyweight Champion. Should be a great one.

ORANGE CASSIDY w./ Tammy Lynn Sytch VS. In the match with Haskins, Cassidy revealed he had a new manager in Tammy Lynn Sytch of WWF “Sunny” fame. The Courtney Love of the professional wrestling world, Sytch brought her own baggage with her to the Pro Wrestling Independent world. Cassidy couldn't have been happier as he used Sytch's distraction to catapult these past two wins. The two have been seen in the locker room talking quite a bit about Orange Cassidy's future and what they both plan on doing in PWI while they are here. No word on if there is a relationship between the two, however there doesn't seem to be anyone who thinks there is. Sytch seems to be very business minded at this point in her career, and wanting to reclaim the managerial excellence that she had while in the WWF.

On the other side of the ring is Drake Younger, someone who has had a lot of success in other promotions but hasn't quite got it together in PWI yet for a victory. Defeating Balls Malhoney in PWI, he also challenged for the Pro Wrestling Guerilla championship two weeks ago. Although he was unsuccessful, Younger is beginning to be heard loud and clear around the pro wrestling world, both inside and outside the PWI scope. Younger now hopes that he can grab the attention of PWI management with a being impressive in other promotions, and taking advantage of every situation he has in PWI.

ALEX SHELLEY VS. London's first problem is Alex Shelley. Paul London and Alex Shelley met in a triangle match at PWI 1 with Amazing Red and the two seemed to have trouble with one another since. Shelley distracted London last week that cost London a chance to wrestle in the Main Event for the championship in many people's eyes. London is said to be steaming mad at Shelley and wanting to end the debate in the back of the locker room about who the better worker is.

For Alex Shelley, this is his first chance to really prove himself as a singles wrestler. As one half of the Motor City Machine Guns with Chris Sabin, Shelley never got his just do while in the shadows of Sabin. Shelley is in PWI to prove to himself and other fans that he is a great wrestler, and that he deserves to be looked at just as much as Sabin does for the Machine Guns success in the independent ranks. Naturally he begin having a problem with Paul London, one of the better workers in PWI a sfar as pure talent is concerned.

At Stand Up And Fight they meet in a best of three falls match to determine who is the best. Bruce Maxwell, Sami Callihan, Arya Daivari are all in this match for PWI to get a good look at all of them and how they stack up to one another. Pro Wrestling Independent management has widely admited that this match will go along ways in telling where each of these individuals are at in their career. All of them have been said to have bright futures in PWI.

Calihan has got to be the favorite coming in, having success in other promotions. Maxwell is said to be extremely upset with PWI for not booking him in other matches that could showcase his ability, so this one should sure confirm that PWI management has either grown tired of hearing his complaints or has listened to his advice. And finally, Daivari may have lost a match to Orange Cassidy a few Wednesday’s ago, but this is a new match and that hasn't affected his stock too much.

This match should give us a good indication of where the future of PWI stands.

QUICK PICK

[Main Event for the PWI Heavyweight Championship]

Joey Ryan vs. Stevie Richards vs. Rhino vs. Colt Cabana

Orange Cassidy vs. Drake Younger

Alex Shelley vs. Paul London

The Young Bucks vs. The Heartbreak Express

Sami Calihan vs. Bruce Maxwell vs. Arya Daivari

[Main Event for the PWI Heavyweight Championship]

Joey Ryan vs. Stevie Richards vs. Rhino vs. Colt Cabana

Orange Cassidy vs. Drake Younger

Alex Shelley vs. Paul London

Motor City Machine Guns (think you mean The Young Bucks)vs. The Heartbreak Express

Sami Calihan vs. Bruce Maxwell vs. Arya Daivari

Should be a good show :D

Posted

Joey Ryan vs. Stevie Richards vs. Rhino vs. Colt Cabana

Thinking Colt may be the most over which makes him better in the chaser role or semi main event feuds. Stevie on the other hand would make a classic heel champ (even playing the coward role or using other means to hold on to the title week after week. He would make a great storyline coming out of the shadows of Raven and being the new "hardcore icon"

Orange Cassidy vs. Drake Younger

With Tammy's guideance, he should go far in PWI

Alex Shelley vs. Paul London

could go either way - and 3rd fall could even end in a draw. Barring that, I go with Shelley to win this one

The Young Bucks vs. The Heartbreak Express

They will make the Express look good and build up their rep even in defeat. Bucks will be a fun team to put on top and make all the other teams better in the process.

Sami Calihan vs. Bruce Maxwell vs. Arya Daivari

In my game, Sami is getting title shots all over the country in different promotions. He looks like the type you could build and elevate, making him a household name like the men in the title main event.

The crowd settled into their seats and were ready for a night of action.

Just then the large television sets flanking the entrance way turned on and Stevie Richards was seen backstage in his locker room sitting down looking into the camera. He tells everyone that tonight is his night to shine. Tonight is his night to prove what he's been saying all along – that he is the best in Pro Wrestling Independent and will be the first every champion tonight. He ends the interview by sarcastically wishing Colt Cabana, Rhino and Joey Ryan luck tonight and tells them they are going to need it.

Sami Calihan vs. Bruce Maxwell vs. Arya Daivari

Despite being considered “future talent” by PWI management, Calihan, Maxwell and Daivari haven't had much chance to shine in the promotion since it started last month. PWI Management put them in match to see where they stacked up next to one another. As the music for Sami Calihan began to play he began to walk out fast (almost in a power walk) as he was pumped to get this match started. Ignoring all of the boos and negative energy being thrown his way by the fans, Calihan was showing a lot of confidence and was ready to win this match, and as a result (he hoped) the fans respect as well. The fans quite honestly didn't like any of the wrestlers in this one, but Calihan was probably the “least-hated” out of the three.

It was Maxwell's chance to show that he's more then just one half of “The Best Around”, a tag team that has gained quite a bit of respect in the independent scene with TJ Cannon. They are still a team, but Maxwell took the PWI phone call last month and liked what they were saying about his singles career chance, so he agreed to appear for PWI as well without Cannon. With the rumors flying around that Cannon isn't happy about it, Maxwell has to focus on the task at hand – winning the match.

With Maxwell and Calihan in the ring staring one another down, Arya Daivari steps through the curtain waving an Iranian flag. Although the flag didn't have as much meaning as it would ten years prior, Daivari still got the fans amped up and ready for either Maxwell or Calihan to take a few stiff shots at him.

The match was a hard fought one between all of the parties involved. Daivari seemed to really pick up the pace of this match, and Maxwell seemed to be able to hang with the two more experienced wrestlers. Calihan would pick up the victory by pinning Bruce Maxwell in a hard fought match. All three guys stuck to the rules for the most part – despite all being heel. The match went a long way to showcasing Bruce Maxwell's strengths and future even though he was on the losing end of the pinfall. Calihan is who everyone thought he was – a crazy psychotic character with a lot of upside in PWI and Arya Daivari has a little more to prove while talking about moving up the ranks.

Winner: Sami Calihan

The Youngbucks vs. The Heartbreak Express

The next match had a surprising amount of interest from the fans as the majority of them came to see The Young Bucks in this one. With Nick and Matt Jackson's ability to be very accomplished outside of Pro Wrestling Independent, the fans knew who the Young Bucks were. Based in Philadelphia, the Bucks have more of a northern crowd then the Heartbreak Express who are southern workers who wrestle quite frequently around the Orlando/Tampa/Jacksonville markets. The Express are very accomplished and could prove their loss to the RockNES Monsters was a fluke with a win tonight.

The Express showed they had a lot of veteran knowledge by cutting off the ring for the majority of the match and using both their speed and weight advantage at the most opportune times of this match. It was Matt Jackson who was able to take the beating from the Express and hold on until he made the hot tag. Nick Jackson got the tag and cleared house with the Heartbreak Express. Sean Davis went for a splash and missed, causing the Bucks to eventually set him up and finish Davis with a flurry of offense moves straight after that match turning botch by Davis.

Winner: The Young Bucks

Orange Cassidy w./ Tammy Lynn Sytch vs. Drake Younger

Orange Cassidy came out next looking beyond cocky and with a little jump to his step as he was beginning to become known for victories around PWI already. The fact that Tammy Lynn Sytch has meant a lot to his victories having people questioning Cassidy's true ability in the ring. With Cassidy in the ring flaunting his manager and telling anyone within screaming distance of him that he is the next rising star in pro wrestling and he was going to use Pro Wrestling Independent to showcase that ability. With Cassidy in the ring, the music for Drake Younger hit. Younger was making a name for himself on the indy scene and picking up big victories in big promotions. He had not picked up a victory yet in PWI.

The match seen Cassidy using his speed to his advantage and picking up key moments in the match that he needed to hit to stay ahead in the match. Eventually Younger would roll out of the ring and take a breather to slow the match down. After Cassidy's momentum stopped, so did his offense. Younger was able to control the match after he got back into the ring. Younger would show that he was in control of the match for awhile until again Tammy Lynn Sytch would make her presence known by distracting the referee so that Cassidy could hit Younger over the head with a foreign object and Cassidy would pin a knocked out Drake Younger. After the match Orange Cassidy was continuing to tell Drake Younger just how much better he was. Cassidy and Sytch walked to the back with Sytch holding the championship title and Cassidy holding on to her -gasping for air. A hard fought match by both men.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

Paul London vs. Alex Shelley

The best two of three falls would tell the winner of this one. Paul London and Alex Shelley are both considered among the best in actual wrestling ability in Pro Wrestling Independent. Alex Shelley cost Paul London a chance at the championship by interfering in his match and making him come out on the wrong side of the decision.

London and Shelley had an excellent match with both exchanging an incredible amount of technical moves that really wow-ed the fans in attendance. It was clear to everyone that just based on technical wrestling ability that these two were some of the best that Pro Wrestling Independent had to offer. London rolled up Alex Shelley and nearly caught him off-guard with a pinfall but Shelley was smart to kick out and immediately roll out of the ring to re-group. Shelley would go on to tell all the fans around ringside that he was smart by using his index finger to point to his head. As he got on the apron (still paying attention to the fans) London brought him in the hard way and immediately continued the offense on Shelley. London would catch Alex Shelley with a fantastic kick to the head that sent Shelley to the mat. London immediately went for the pinfall and scored one. 1-0 Paul London in the best of three falls.

Shelley would roll out of the ring and pound on the ring apron and throw a fit. The referee began to count and Shelley would get back in the ring on the count of 8. London went over to continue what he thought would be a span of offensive moves but Shelley instead reversed a move by London and went on the offense instead. Shelley would control the match until he “accidentally” threw London into the ring corner that the referee was on. As the referee was knocked out, Shelley resorted to making a kid get up out of his seat so he could use it to hit Paul London in the head with it. The referee came to his senses just as Shelley slid the chair out of the ring. The referee went to count but miraculously London kicked out at 2 which surprised everyone in the building, but nobody was more shocked then Shelley himself who continued to argue with the referee. As he was, London (who was slowly recovering from the shot) school boyed Shelley and rolled him up with a fist full of tights to get the victory. A 2-0 win for Paul London as he resorted to cheating himself and leaving Shelley in the ring to scream at the official and point to London who was seen walking backwards to the dressing room while staying focused on Shelley. All London was heard saying was “how's it feel?” with a big smile on his face.

Winner: Paul London

Colt Cabana vs. Joey Ryan vs. Rhino vs. Stevie Richards

The next match was the big one. The winner taking home the rights to call themselves the first PWI Champion. All four guys in this match brought an impressive track record in previous promotions and were looked at by management as the top picks for the chance. Cabana and Ryan have had problems with one another as Ryan cheated his way to a victory over Cabana earlier this month. Cabana took exception to Ryan's celebrating due to how he obtained the victory. Ryan would spend several weeks getting under Cabana's skin. Rhino is a beast who due to his impressive resume was put into this match as well. By far the quietest one in PWI so far, but that could change in one match. Finally this match had Stevie Richards, the one who's been saying he was going to be PWI Champion from the first words he uttered in a PWI venue.

The match started with the predicted pairing of Cabana and Ryan with Rhino and Richards doing battle on the outside. The match was a good paced one for sure as there was really no let up. Cabana and Rhino would eventually tangle and Rhino caught him with a gore. Rhino went for the quick cover and got the pinfall on Cabana. Joey Ryan jumping on Cabana after being pinned and kicking him while being separated by officials. This left Rhino and Richards in the ring alone while Richards held his own against Rhino. The match seen more Richards and Ryan against Rhino as this made the fans get behind Rhino. As Rhino was cheap shot for the fifth time by the team of Ryan and Richards he snapped. Using whatever strength he was given he came back and threw Richards out of the ring. Ryan then got a gore and was pinned like Cabana and Richards rolled in sneakily and waited for Rhino to turn around and walk right into a Stevie Kick (Super Kick) and get pinned giving Stevie Richards the victory and the first ever reign as Pro Wrestling Independent Champion. The match went off the air as Richards celebrated and was being helped back by PWI officials as he gasped for air while holding the Championship in his hands.

Winner: Stevie Richards pins Rhino to become the PWI Heavyweight Champion.

END
