<strong>All Hail The Enforcer!</strong></p><p><strong>

Flair vs. Steamboat: Instant Classic</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Double A winning was a major surprise, but a pleasant one. I'll be very interested to see what he does with his reward.</p><p> </p><p>

I can't even imagine how hard it was to keep track of a 3-ring, 60-man battle royal; it was hard enough for me to do a 30-man Rumble. You did a great job with it, though. I loved the little bits between guys who weren't in the same ring, like the JPL/Regal stuff. Marvelous work. I always thought the WW3 concept was cool, but I don't think WCW ever really pulled it off. You sure as heck did, though!</p><p> </p><p>

I logically knew that Dustin wasn't winning, but you got me to buy in for a second, so top notch work there as well.</p>

<p>Hey wow, great PPV. When Vader lost to Cactus I was sure he was going to win WW3, but a strong showing nonetheless. Glad you went with Arn, I think it's awesome that he breaks into the title picture now.</p><p> </p><p>

WCW Television - May Week 3, 1995

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWSaturdayNight.png

WCW Saturday Night

3rd Week of 1995

Held at: The Omni in Atlanta, Georgia (South East)

Attendance: 17,204

Rating: B – This show increased our popularity in 15 regions.

“Great American Bash Tour Part 1: The Announcement”

The show opens with some still frame shots from World War 3, with commentary played over them to talk about what we’re seeing. The biggest clips we’re shown are of the ladder match between Ric Flair and Scott Hall, Sting being eliminated from World War 3, Arn Anderson and Ric Flair celebrating in the ring, and the ending of the match between Hollywood Hogan and Dustin Rhodes.

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/Queen.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/JimmyHart2.jpg

The show begins after the WCW Saturday Night opening not with commentary, but with Hollywood Hogan and “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper standing in the ring, along with The Queen and Jimmy Hart. Hogan has the microphone, and he gloats about defeating “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes at World War 3 last Sunday. He says that he’s not even disappointed in Roddy (which draws a strange stare from Piper for a moment) because Piper did most of the dirty work to take Sting out of the World War 3 match! Piper takes the microphone, and he says that yeah, it would have been good to win the battle royal; but that is a point for another day, as he took away the biggest challenger there could have been – and he’s done it about three times now! Tony reminds us that it was actually Piper’s doing that Sting even has the clause that he cannot go for the World title for this year, as Piper hands the microphone back. Hogan talks about Arn Anderson, saying that he doesn’t care what he decides to cash the Spoils of War on, because he knows that Anderson is smart enough not to waste it by going for the World Heavyweight championship. Because Hollywood is immortal, brother, and nothing will ever change that! Hogan says that it’s even to the level, he’s so untouchable, that he intends on taking some time off from his boring schedule in WCW, starting now! But a third party decides to make his presence known…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BarryWindham.jpg

Out of the backstage comes Barry Windham! He says that it’s great to be back here in WCW after a few years away, because of everywhere he’s ever been in his career, World Championship Wrestling is the place most like home to him. He says that there is one thing that’s always bothered him, though; and that’s how he’s never really been the head of household here at home! He points into the ring, and he says that he wants a shot – Barry Windham, against Hollywood Hogan! The crowd cheer wildly, wanting to see the match! Hogan asks what Barry thinks his credentials for such a match even are. Barry says that his credential is that he’s a former multiple time World champion, and plus, Hogan cannot turn down this challenge! Windham wants the match, and he will have it! Hogan says that he’ll just take this up with Nick, but Barry says that Bockwinkel can’t do anything about it – the match is already signed, Barry just wanted Hollywood to be a man and accept it face-to-face! Hogan and Piper are both stunned and furious, and they say that they’ll just see about that!

Rating: B+

Notes: Hogan improvised well during this segment. Roddy was also masterful, which is no surprise. Barry, unfortunately, let the moment get to his head, and did poorly.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ArnAnderson.jpg

As commentary buzz about that, Dusty wondering for sure what is going on there, we go backstage where “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson is shown entering The Omni! Tony says that we are set to find out what Anderson will be cashing the Spoils of War on, later tonight!

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/TonySchiavone.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/BobbyHeenan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/DustyRhodes2.jpg

We head to the broadcast area, where Tony Schiavone, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, and “The American Outlaw” Dusty Rhodes begin giving a rundown of tonight’s huge show. Dusty says that he’s wondering what Barry Windham is talking about, who signed a World title match for him? As a sign in the background can be seen claiming “All Hail The Enforcer!” Tony says that we’ll try to have more on that in the future, as well as a big classic match revisited tonight between “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat! Dusty says that he cannot wait to find out what “Double A” Arn Anderson wants to cash in the Spoils of War on, Bobby chiming in that he knows already. Rhodes immediately starts grilling him, but Bobby doesn’t tell him. Schiavone talks about how there are limited spots being offered for matches at the Great American Bash, and you can be sure that quite a few challenges will be made between now and then, and WCW management and commissioner Nick Bockwinkel will have their hands full on getting the matches set up! Tony finally says that we have to get to the ring, as

is bringing out the World Television champion!

Rating: B-

Notes: Dusty improvised superbly, though Bobby seemed to struggle a bit.

WCW World Television Championship

“Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright vs. Art Barr

Time Limit: 15:00

Referee: Randy Anderson

Sources have told me (sources being me) that Barr’s somewhat lackluster performance in matches for the past while may not get his short-term contract renewed. However, here he does what he was set to do, making Wright look great with every move. Art gets a few quick near-falls here and there, but for the most part it’s a moot point, as Wright comes off the top with a missile dropkick and scores the pinfall.

Winner in 6:56 and still World TV champion: Alex Wright

Rating: C-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/JohnnyBBadd.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/TeddyLong.jpg

Out of the back, Teddy Long is seen, and he seems to be trying to hold back Johnny B. Badd! Badd takes in the boos of the crowd, as Alex looks annoyed. Badd gets a microphone, telling Teddy to get out of his way! Long shakes his head, throwing his hands up as he heads to the back. Johnny says that what he did at World War 3, is all Alex’s fault! He says that he worked with Wright the entire triangle match, and then at the last minute, Wright showed his true colors – green with jealousy! As Alex shakes his head, Badd says that the whole time they’d teamed, Alex was doing everything he could to keep Johnny down and have the spotlight on him! Badd says that now he’s seen it, and he’s seen what WCW did to try and kill their team, and the two things together made him knock Wright’s lights out last Sunday! But, he adds, he doesn’t blame Alex; he says it’s WCW’s fault, because they’ve put such huge thoughts in his head, that he’s so great and so wonderful, that he thinks he’s better than some lowly boxer-turned-wrestler. But Johnny B. Badd isn’t just anyone, he’s the best, he’s the prettiest, and he’s the man who should be holding the TV title! Wright finally gets a microphone, and he says that Johnny only had to ask him for a shot, and he’d have given it to him – but now, it’s personal! He’s on!

Rating: C

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Sting2.jpg

The man called Sting makes his way out to the ring following a commercial break, and he looks rather somber, as Sting goes. He takes to the microphone, saying that it looks as though he let his “Little Stingers” down last Sunday at World War 3, but while he isn’t here to make excuses, he feels the blame for that lies solely with Roddy Piper and Randy Savage! Sting says that he’s going to keep petitioning the WCW board, because there has to be a way to get that World Heavyweight title shot that he should be owed!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/LexLuger.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RickRude.jpg

Out of the back comes “The Total Package” Lex Luger and Rick Rude! Rude addresses Lex, saying that it looks like the great Sting is actually out here pointing fingers now! Luger says that it is, indeed; saying that he never thought he’d see the day that Sting was making an excuse for a loss – a loss that he shouldn’t have had to begin with! Luger says that Sting should be the one announcing the Spoils of War later tonight, not Arn Anderson – and that’s why they say that Sting is not the same man he used to be! Sting replies that he’s had enough of Luger and Rude downplaying him like this; if they want to find out just how changed Sting is, then he’s laying out the challenge right now, Sting to face Lex Luger! He says that he just hopes that he gets the match able to take place at the Great American Bash, because if there’s anywhere that “The Stinger” wants to be kicking some butt, it’s in Baltimore! Luger says that the old Sting wouldn’t “hope” to get the match, he’d just take it! But as Sting shakes his head, staring the two down from in the ring, Luger and Rude make their leave.

Rating: B-

Notes: Luger improvised well, keeping the crowd on their toes the whole time.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RonSimmons.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ScottHall.jpg

Tony says that this was some fan recorded footage that WCW bought from said fan, from at an autograph signing a few days ago. It shows Ron Simmons taking photos and signing 8x10s of himself for some young fans, when Scott Hall happens by. He holds up a photo for Ron to sign, before heckling him for being shuffled off of WCW cards as of late, ever since losing to Hogan at Battlebowl. Simmons asks him what he’s getting at, and Hall says it must hurt to see someone who isn’t even on contract to be taking his spot like what Scott did – and he’s here to get what might even be Ron’s final autograph! Simmons, now getting upset (as if that takes much), tells Hall that if he doesn’t get out of here, he’ll find out that the reason Ron hasn’t had many matches in WCW as of late is because everyone is too afraid to sign on the dotted line against him! Hall wiggles his fingers at Ron, saying he ain’t afraid of anybody – but there’s no payday worth dirtying himself by facing Ron in the ring! Simmons grabs Hall by the shirt collar, but security steps in before the two get physical! Back to the arena, Tony says that Scott Hall is getting out of control before hiding behind not being under WCW contract! Dusty sides with Scott, saying that the man can’t be controlled by World Championship Wrestling, and that’s the way he likes it! Heenan just says that he’s tugging on a tiger’s tail by getting in Ron’s face, though!

Rating: B+

Notes: Scott Hall certainly improvises well.

http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/photo_large/public/photo/image/2012/12/38_WCW-039.jpg

Tony laughs as this is what comes out of the backstage when Lord Steven Regal’s theme plays! JPL climbs into the ring, and he says in a horrible British accent that his name is His Boredship, dubbed so because anytime he comes to the ring, everyone becomes bored out of their minds! He goes on to give a few pointers to this “decidedly American crowd” by saying to always keep their pinkies in the air while drinking their tea – he then drinks tea, but pokes himself in the eye with his little finger. He looks downward, and as if he just realized it, asks where his trousers are, before saying that’s right – His Boredship doesn’t own trousers, he wears his little red panties everywhere! JPL definitely gets a great time making fun of Regal here, and everybody gets a laugh out of it. Bobby says that there will definitely be Hell to pay when Lord Regal is back on Saturday Night next week!

Rating: C+

Notes: JPL really enjoyed being able to improvise his dialogue here, and entertained the fans a lot.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveAustin2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BrianPillman3.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/StevieRichards.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GordonSolie.jpg

Gordon Solie is backstage, and he brings in the World Tag Team champions, Brian Pillman and Steve Austin – but they don’t come alone, as Pillman seems to be literally dragging lawyer Richard Stevenson along with them. Solie asks them about who they want to face for the titles between the Steiner Brothers and Harlem Heat, but Austin says it doesn’t matter who they face, because he and Pillman have bigger fish to fry. Brian laughs, saying that with their new “legal beagle” here (as he claps Stevenson on the shoulders with both hands) Nicky Bockwinkel doesn’t have a chance of getting rid of them if they don’t have titles. Stevenson mutters something about how there are bi-laws protecting people like his clients from things like this, Pillman cutting him off to say that there are bigger fries to fish – namely, the Great American Bash. Gordon says that everyone wants a match for the Bash, but apparently only a few will be granted their matches, but Austin says that won’t be a problem – because everybody is gonna want to see himself and Brian go one-on-one with rivals Terry Gordy and Randy Savage on pay-per-view, live in living color from Baltimore, Maryland! Brian laughs, jumping up and down on Richard’s back, saying that all they need is the names on the dotted lines, saying that “Stevieson has the paperwork taken care of, we just need those guys to have the right number of balls to find us at the Great American Bash!” Gordon chastises Brian for his language, but Pillman just cackles, as Solie sums up that it looks like there are two more challenges for the Great American Bash, WCW management are going to have a heck of a time figuring out who will be on the card!

Rating: B

Notes: Pillman improvised superbly here, though Solie and Steven struggled slightly.

Scott and Steve Armstrong w/Bob Armstrong vs. The Gambler & Devon Storm

Time Limit: 10:00

Referee: Charles Robinson

Time will find that the only thing worthwhile in this match is the debut of referee Charles Robinson. Otherwise, this is a bad little match that is just an Armstrong showcase. Tony takes this moment to say the buzzword for this week in the Great American Bash sweepstakes, which is “Big”. Bob does well on the outside to keep his boys motivated, and they put away their opponents when Steve comes off the top with a missile dropkick on Devon.

Winners in 4:58: The Armstrongs

Rating: D-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Bubba.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/EricBischoff.jpg

Eric Bischoff comes out to the aisle alongside what he calls “a changed man” in “Guardian Angel” Bubba Rogers. Rogers tells him that yeah, he is a changed man – for the better, because he has heard people talking about how he’s been a useless bodyguard in the KoW. Rogers says he went back to Cobb County for a little trip, and he found himself again. Now, nobody calls Bubba Rogers useless, and he’s going to show everyone just what that means in the future! He specifically calls out Rick Martel, saying that their business is far from over! He claims it’s only a matter of time until he’s gotten the Kings of Wrestling some more gold, and serve up some good old fashioned redneck justice!

Rating: C-

Notes: Rogers worked the crowd really well here, and Bischoff’s reactions and timing were superb.

WCW United States Heavyweight Championship

Terry Gordy w/Col. Robert Parker vs. Super Nova

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Mark Curtis

This one is a massacre. Nova tries to stick and move, but it works for all of about thirty seconds before Gordy takes over. Dusty says that Terry must be in a foul mood after last Sunday at World War 3, and he takes it all out on young Super Nova. The champion practically toys with him, leading into a lariat and the Oriental Spike for the quick, decisive submission victory.

“Double A” is shown backstage again, and he sounds like he’s talking to Dustin Rhodes and Magnum TA on speakerphone. Dustin can be heard saying it’s too bad he couldn’t be there tonight, but WCW told him to take a week off after World War 3. Magnum also says that he was given the same, possibly trying to splinter the group for Anderson’s big night. Arn tells them not to worry about it, the plan is still in motion. Rhodes gets excited, asking “Is it time? It’s finally here?” but Arn tells him not to get his hopes up too high, because it may not be time for that yet… but it will be time for what they discussed earlier. Dustin still sounds excited, and as the call ends, Magnum is even asking what they had discussed!

Waylon Mercy and Colonel Robert Parker are on their way down to the ring, as Tony and Bobby say that Mercy was told he had a surprise opponent for tonight. Waylon gets into the ring, and he and Parker start yelling to bring on the victim. They wait around, standing in the ring, and Parker gets out of the ring and walks toward the aisle, looking confused at the lack of an opponent coming out. Bobby notices first, however, that hey, is that a fan who just jumped the railing?

Mercy shakes his head, and turns around – AND HE GETS GRABBED AROUND THE NECK, AND DROPPED ON HIS FACE!! By the time the Colonel turns around and notices, sliding into the ring, the man has already gone back up into the stands! A camera is close enough to hear him say “Just like that – bang! Diamond Cutter!”

Everyone is shocked, Tony saying they haven’t seen Diamond Dallas Page in months! DDP goes back through the crowd, as Parker checks on Waylon Mercy in the ring, before stomping and throwing down his hat and handkerchief in anger!

We head into the locker room with Arn Anderson again, where best friend “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair has joined him, still in his street clothes. Flair says that he knows what Arn is planning, and he isn’t sure if it’s the best idea to go ahead with. He says it’s a risky move, something that could go a lot of different ways, something that “we could lose control of fast if we don’t take proper care, bruther.” But Flair says that if Anderson’s mind is made up, then Ric will be right there with him on it. “The Enforcer” doesn’t say a word, hasn’t even looked up at Flair, but he simply nods. Ric says that he has to go get ready for his later main event match, and Anderson appears deep in thought. Again, Dusty tries to ask Heenan what he knows, but “The Brain” will say nothing!

Notes: Flair seemed a little awkward here, like not having Gene to bounce off of hurt his improvising.

At this point, the broadcast area is intruded upon by Hollywood Hogan and Nick Bockwinkel! The two try bullying the information out of Heenan, Hogan saying that Anderson better not be stupid enough to cash it in on something that would put him at odds with the World Heavyweight champion! Bobby says that he won’t tell, it is Arn’s to decide. He says that “Double A could decide to change his mind at any time, then my information would be wrong!” That isn’t good enough, and Hogan physically grabs Heenan by his shirt collar with one hand, which just makes Bobby mad! He brushes Hogan’s grip away, threatening to sue him if he ever touches him again! Heenan says that Hogan is scared! He’s afraid, because he knows that if Arn Anderson asks for a match against him, he’ll lose that title! Nick calms things down, moving the World champion away, before pulling a paper out of his jacket pocket. Bockwinkel says that this is Bobby’s WCW commentary license, and he threatens to rip it up if Bobby does not spill what he knows! Heenan, outraged, says that Nick doesn’t have to do that, because if that’s the kind of show he wants to run, then he’ll do this – Bobby grabs it out of Nick’s hand, and rips it up! He throws the headset at Hogan and leaves, the camera saying that he’d never betray a friend like that, just to save a job like this! Tony is stunned, asking Nick what he’s going to do about this, as Hogan just leaves. Schiavone throws us to a commercial break, unsure of what’s going on around here!

After sneering at two signs in the crowd that say “Bring Back The Body!” and “Bring Back The Body: Agreed!” Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel has gone to the ring when we are back from break, and he says that while he does not yet know what Arn Anderson wants to cash his Spoils of War win on, he is willing to offer him this right now – next week, Anderson will go one-on-one with Terry Gordy, in a World War 3 rematch for the United States Heavyweight championship. Nick says that he hopes this will show Anderson that “we are willing to work with you, if you want to work with us.” Tony says that this action from the Kings of Wrestling shows that maybe Bobby Heenan was right, but Dusty says that Nick is just trying to keep Arn from embarrassing himself by trying to go after the World title and looking like a fool against Hollywood Hogan!

Number One Contendership for the WCW World Tag Team Championships

Harlem Heat vs. The Steiner Brothers

Time Limit: 20:00

Referee: Nick Patrick

These two brother teams tend to have really good matches, and this one does not disappoint. Their own tag team chemistries and long term experience play in their favor, as everybody knows what to do and when to do it. Nobody plays the heel here, which is the only thing that hurts them at all as the match goes. Booker is the closest thing to it, but even he has times when he lets his opponent regain his bearings after a good strike. Tony is still in shock over calling a match without Heenan now, but Dusty tells him that “he done made his bed, now he lay in it,” so Tony changes the subject, asking why Hollywood upset his Road Warriors last week. Rhodes says “Dat’s just Hollehwood’s way; we all have ouer ways of gettin’ everybody motivated, and dat’s his way. He just motivating them by mentionin’ them otha’ boys, and his way diffarent than mine. I know mah’ boys, I tell them ta’ keel and they go and keel, but not Hollehwood. He motivate diff’rent, Roddy motivate diff’rent, I motivate diff’rent, Jimmy motivate diff’rent. Tha’s why the Keengs of Wresaleen’ are the best group in the world, now and fahevah, Toneh.” Back to the match, all hells breaks loose as all four men come into the ring, and in the midst of that action, the Road Warriors – speak of the devils – make their way down to ringside, and Animal hoists Rick on his shoulders as Hawk dives off the ring apron to hit a Doomsday Device on the floor! The two shove Rick back into the ring, where an unknowing Booker T turns around and sees him down, going for the cover and getting the win! Harlem Heat celebrate in the ring, knowing that they definitely get the next shot at the World Tag Team titles!

As the Road Warriors are on their way to the dressing room, they’re suddenly hit from behind by the angry Steiner Brothers! With Harlem Heat victorious in the ring, the four big men brawl with one another, as WCW officials come rushing out of the back to separate them! While they try to gain order from this chaotic scene, Schiavone sends us to a commercial break.

When we come back from break, the spotlight falls to Gary Michael Cappetta inside the ring, as it is now time for our main event!

<iframe width="320" height="240" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ZHQTLLgBF78?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Wearing one of his trademark sequin robes, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair makes his way out of the back. His glittering, baby blue robe shines in the spotlight, as fans chant “We Want Flair!” at him. He requests Tommy Young come over and hold the ropes open for him, as he enters the ring, awaiting his opponent, an opponent he knows all too well.

“Sirus” brings out “The Dragon” Ricky Steamboat to the ring, the fans cheering wildly for the very popular superstar! Steamboat looks determined, though Tony reminds the fans that this is the friendliest match you’ll ever find between the two former bitter rivals. Dusty talks about the two trading the World Heavyweight title back and forth in the past, saying that feuds like that don’t just go away, and he says that he looks forward to seeing these two take one another out – it’d make for an easier run for the Kings of Wrestling!

“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat

Time Limit: TV Time Remaining

Referee: Tommy Young

A sign in the crowd calls this “Flair vs. Steamboat: Instant Classic”. This match doesn’t exactly live up to the two’s classics from the past, but mostly due to the face vs. face dynamic. Steamboat and Flair know one another top to bottom, and it’s reflected as they counter one another’s moves at every turn, and typically counter it and follow up with a chop. Neither man really looks any better than the other, as they each get plenty of time to shine. Flair takes punishment from the martial arts and quick strikes of “The Dragon” but just as much does Steamboat’s knees get pulverized by Flair’s onslaught that comes with setting up the figure four. After several near-falls on both men’s side, that figure four ends up being the turning point of the match – as Ric goes to lock it on, Ricky is able to reach up and pull Flair over in a small package, and Tommy Young counts the pin, putting this grueling match at its end!

Out of the back rush Scott Hall and Randy Savage! They assault the two tired out athletes in the ring, as Tommy Young rushes around trying to restore order! Hall grabs Flair and drills him to the mat with the Financial Edge, and he gets ready to do the same to Steamboat, as Savage goes to the top rope – he’s going to drop an elbow as soon as “The Dragon” is slammed down!

But “Macho” gets pushed off the top rope to the mat by Arn Anderson, who has rushed out of the back with his weapon of choice, the tire iron! He swings the weapon at Hall, who quickly takes off out of the ring! The KoW member and their hired hand regroup outside, as Anderson helps Flair and Steamboat back up, and with the numbers not in their favor anymore, the duo retreat!

As some help comes out, Steamboat leaves the ring as “Mean” Gene Okerlund enters it, getting Arn’s attention to get a word from him – he says that this has to be the time for the mystery to be solved, the whole world wants to know, what Arn intends on using his Spoils of War from winning World War 3 on! With Ric Flair at his back, Arn finally speaks his mind.

“I have something I want to talk about. I want to talk about tradition. There was a tradition in wrestling for a long time, where the old guard gives way for the young bucks. The torch must be passed on for the world to keep spinning. It happened with Ole and myself, it happened with Harley and Ric, and it even happened for Hogan with Andre. You know, Gene, there’s been a lot happening over the past year – over the past two years, even. We’ve had guys come in and try to hold down all the rest of the boys in the back. That goes against the tradition that we used to have. But what’s even worse about that, is the guys from our own side who have turned over and done that, as well. Nick Bockwinkel, I don’t know you well, and I don’t intend to, but I know you used to be a man of principle; now, you’re a broken record. You want to sign me a US title match? Fine, I’ll take it. But you want to take one of my friends and hold his job on the line? Hogan, you put your hands on my friend Bobby. You want to talk about taking a vacation, well after Barry Windham takes you to class next week, you better vacation fast, because I’m giving you one week before the next Saturday Night, when you bring your sorry carcass to this ring, and I don’t care if your title is on the line or not, because I’m gonna bury you! But these things are all a formality; I don’t need the US title match, but since Bockwinkel says he signed it already, then sure, I could use some gold around my waist. Hogan, I just offered you a challenge from one man to another, and if you accept, then it shows that you were man enough to stand up to your actions. But what I want to cash my Spoils of War on, is to start another war. Because I have a son, and the one thing that makes me feel sick to my stomach in this whole Kings of Wrestling thing is the fact that a son was cast aside by a father. I’m talking about you, Dusty.” Dusty Rhodes on commentary has gone completely silent, saying only that he’s listening, as Arn continues. “Now we’ve all had our go-arounds before, and we got hurt, and you got hurt, and we all moved on. But it looks about time for another round. The Great American Bash is coming up, and there is a tradition that we and Dusty Rhodes started a few years ago involving the Bash. And that’s why for the Spoils of War, we’re challenging YOU, Dusty, to choose four of the boys you’ve been managing in the KoW, and meet the five of us, in the ring! And not only in the ring, but in tradition – inside the two rings! Inside the steel cage! In the WarGames!”

Flair dances in the ring, “Wooooo”ing at that announcement. Gene is shocked, and the crowd cheer wildly! Tony asks what Dusty thinks about that, but Rhodes is rather silent for a change. Anderson holds up his hand, waiting for everyone to silence. He continues, saying that “There’s something else I want to get off my chest. A lot of people have been asking me, and asking Ric about another tradition from WCW. Dustin has been asking me, people stop us in bars and airports and in the lobby of the motel rooms, and they say Arn, Ric; when is excellence gonna ride again?” The crowd cheers again at the mention, and Gene repeats the question to them – when? Arn tells him “We aren’t sure – we aren’t sure if everyone is ready for what that entails. Because if you want the old Ric Flair, and you want the old Arn Anderson, and you want that mentality to come out of us… then you better be prepared to reap the whirlwind. But so many have asked for it, well Rhodes – you better be ready, because at the Great American Bash, Hell will be unleashed – as the Horsemen ride again!”

DEAFENING CHEERS go up as Ric and Arn solemnly hold the four fingers up in front of their faces, and on that is the image we end this huge edition of WCW Saturday Night!

Notes: Gene was superb improvising here, but Arn improvised well also.

Turns and Gimmick Notes

Bubba Rogers has changed his gimmick to Redneck (Brute) which rated 89 – finally! I changed his gimmick way too soon at the start of this game, and he’s been dealing with poor gimmick note ever since!

Diamond Dallas Page turned face, and the turn went pretty well.

Everyone gets their turn to speak, but Dustin is the most excited of the bunch, talking about the announcement last week of the reformation of the Four Horsemen! Anderson tells him that they will talk more about that later, as he talks about his other announcement, that being WarGames, as well as challenging Hollywood Hogan. Flair butts in on that, saying that if anybody has a chance to come from behind and defeat Hogan, it’s “Double A, woo!” Windham says that as much as he agrees, he gets Hollywood in the ring first, and Hogan better not look ahead to Anderson when he’s got the big man from Sweetwater in his face on Saturday Night! Flair says that he just hopes that Scott Hall sticks his nose into the match, so he can come down and chop it off his face! Rhodes steps in front of everyone to close the promo, saying that it doesn’t matter if it’s Hogan’s side of the Kings of Wrestling or his father’s clients, none of them have a chance against the Four Horsemen! Dustin emphasizes this point by briefly holding up the four fingers, as we fade out on the face of five determined men!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Rating: B-</em></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/TonySchiavone.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/DustyRhodes2.jpg</span> </div><p></p><p></p><p> After those words, Tony Schiavone welcomes everyone to WCW Saturday Night! He is joined by “The American Outlaw” Dusty Rhodes, who says that he can’t wait for WCW to get egg on their face after having Barry Windham announce a World title match tonight, and then not be able to deliver! Tony tells him not to think they can get out of it yet, as there’s a lot of action to get through tonight! Schiavone talks about the two big tag matches going on, as the World Tag Team championships are defended between champions Austin and Pillman against number one contenders Harlem Heat, and Lex Luger teams with the KoW’s “Guardian Angel” Bubba Rogers against Rick Martel and the man called Sting! Dusty adds some intrigue by saying that his “bes’ budday” Nick Bockwinkel has a huge announcement tonight around the top of the hour, and the sound of Pearl Jam signals our opening contest! A sign in the crowd seems to draw a sneer from Dusty, which says “Free The Brain!”</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Rating: B-</em></p><p><em> Notes: Dusty improvises well.</em></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ArtBarr.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ChavoJr.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ReyMysterio.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Juvi.jpg</span><p> <strong>Nuevo Gringos Locos vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. and Juventud Guerrera</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Time Limit: 20:00</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:8px;"> Referee: Charles Robinson</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> This was supposed to be a really good, hot opening match. But Art Barr once again seems to drag things down, as he has yet to have a really good match that hasn’t involved being in Mexico against the Steiner Brothers. Instead, he just works to put over everyone else in this match, as youngsters Chavo, Rey, and Juvi fly around the ring, exciting the fans with their incredible offense. Mike Tenay has joined commentary for this one, and he helps to explain a few of the fast-paced moves that the four men unleash on one another when Tony can’t keep up. After ten minutes of high flying give-and-take, Guerrera flips over Chavo’s back and turns him around in the Juvi Driver for the three count.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Winners in 10:26: Rey Mysterio Jr. and Juventud Guerrera</em></p><p><em> Rating: C-</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/StevenRegal.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/DougWilliams.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Finlay.jpg</span> </div><p></p><p></p><p> Surprisingly, out of the back comes Lord Steven Regal. He has a microphone, and after he dismisses Barr, Chavo, and Rey, asking Juventud to remain in the ring, he walks down to the apron. Regal says that this past week, a classic, classy man sadly passed away… and WCW doesn’t care, because he wasn’t either an American or a masked Hispanic! Regal says that his fellow Lord, Lord Alfred Hayes, was six times the man of a “bloody hooligan” like JPL, or a man who hides behind a mask and attacks from behind like one Juventud Guerrera! Regal says just because the hooligan isn’t here tonight, he’s not letting people get off easily. After pointing out a fan’s sign that says “Thank You Alfred!” Regal addresses Juvi directly, calling him “sunshine” and saying that he proved that he is that kind of a person at World War 3, by creeping up behind Regal and eliminating him, sticking his masked nose into other people’s business – and so if that is how Guerrera likes doing things, then his Lordship can do the same!</p><p> From behind comes the rest of the Ruthless Roundtable, Earl Clayton and Finlay assaulting Juventud from behind! Gene asks the brothers for their thoughts on the tag team title situation, and where they go from here. Scott says that it’s been pretty trying times lately, but they’re keeping their focus straight ahead like always. Rick adds that the worst part is, the Road Warriors screwed them over <strong>twice</strong>, but now they can’t get revenge at the Great American Bash because Hawk and Animal will be in WarGames! Scott says that they wish the best of luck to Arn, Ric, and Dustin on winning at WarGames – but they still have beef with the Road Warriors, and until that gets settled, they’re going to be thorns in their sides at all times! Gene asks about the Tag Team title match tonight as well, saying that a lot of people believe the Steiner Brothers should be in that match. Scott wishes luck to Harlem Heat, but says that Booker and Stevie know that Hawk and Animal are to blame for getting that title match; and so if they win, there had better be a title shot for the Steiners on the horizon! Colonel Robert Parker brings in the WCW United States Heavyweight champion, Terry Gordy, along with the smiling bodyguard, Waylon Mercy. The Colonel says that if Arn Anderson wants to take another shot at Terry Gordy, then he best know what’s coming to him, as Gordy is ready to destroy “The Enforcer” even worse than he did at World War 3! Gene directs the conversation off of Anderson to ask about Diamond Dallas Page, who made a big return last week and dropped this man Waylon Mercy, with the Diamond Cutter. Parker says that he gave DDP some time off from the Stable in order to get his head on straight, and the offer is still open for him to return; but he says that Page had better make no mistake about it – if he makes the wrong choice, then no man, woman, or being on Earth will stop the Stud Stable from giving him permanent time off!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Rating: C</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BrianJames.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BradArmstrong.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/RobertFuller.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveArmstrong.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/TracySmothers.jpg</span><p> <strong>The Armstrong Brothers w/Col. Parker rips up a fan’s sign that says “Diamonds Last Forever like Dallas Page”. Another sign says “Bang! DDP For World Champ!” but Parker can’t get to that to rip it up, so he just gives that fan dirty looks while wiping sweat off his face with his handkerchief. Dusty stirs the pot, talking about the small tiff between the Pistols on WCW Main Event last Sunday, but Tony says that these two are tight friends, he’s sure they talked this out behind closed doors. BG is even ruder and cruder than before, trash-talking his brother while slapping him around, grabbing his own crotch and telling his own father to shut up and like it, because this is how it is! When BG makes the tag, “Bullet Bob” comes over and starts yelling at his son on the apron! Bob tells BG that if he wants to act like that, then he’s going to have to knock him around! All this commotion brings Brad over as BG accepts the challenge! Brad asks him what he’s doing, but doesn’t get a chance to have an answer, as Bob grabs BG’s attention while Steve grabs Brad from behind, lifting him up on his shoulders as Smothers comes off the top with a dropkick! Sting and Martel had no such problems, and took it to their enemies with a combined force. At one point, Rogers is able to smash Martel into the mat, and he and Lex grind down on him, working over his back. Rick’s never-go-down attitude keeps him strong though, especially as Sting keeps the crowd cheering him on. Martel gets some distance between himself and Luger by slipping out of a bodyslam and hitting a desperate clothesline, before making the tag to Sting. “The Stinger” comes in like a house of fire, slamming and punching away on Luger and Rogers. A big double dropkick takes Lex out of the ring, but as Mark Curtis is shuffling Martel out, Bubba pokes Sting in the eye. He sets Sting on the turnbuckles, looking for a superplex, but Sting shoves him off the ropes, before leaping up with a huge flying splash! Sting stays on top, and he gets the three count, ending a very exciting match!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Winners in 12:10: Rick Martel and Sting</em></p><p><em> Rating: B</em></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/DustyRhodes2.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Hawk.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Animal.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/TonySchiavone.jpg</span> </div><p></p><p></p><p> The Road Warriors descend upon the broadcast area, and Tony Schiavone takes on the role of interviewer for Hawk, Animal, and manager/broadcaster Dusty Rhodes. Tony asks Dusty what he thinks of the resurgence of the Four Horsemen and WarGames, but Rhodes says that he isn’t taking it as seriously as they’d hope! Dusty says to look at these two men standing behind him – former World Tag Team champions in every company they’ve ever walked into! Hawk goes off-screen to confront a fan with a sign that says “DEMOLITION OR I RIOT!” Dusty says to look at the rest of the choices he has for joining them in the match; the monstrous Meng, the consummate veteran “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, or the resurgent Bubba Rogers. Tony says that Rogers did certainly look like a new man in the last match, though he did come out on the losing end. Dusty says that it was a flaw in the new system, baby; by the Bash, Bubba will be a well-oiled machine. The Road Warriors take time to speak as well, as Animal says that they’re going to eat up the supposed Horsemen and spit out the bones, just like they did the last time they faced the real Four Horsemen; Hawk points out that the Road Warriors have been involved in nearly every WarGames, and they’re the reason the match is so feared. He adds that there is nobody they can have on their side who can stand up to the Road Warriors and the “American Outlaw” and so they’re going to put these horses down before they even start into a run!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Rating: C</em></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/CactusJack.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Vader.jpg</span> </div><p></p><p></p><p> <a href="http://youtu.be/hyWJCd1GYhw?t=12s" rel="external nofollow">“Symphony of Destruction”</a> brings out a man who was victorious at World War 3, Cactus Jack! Jack gets a microphone and says that there has almost been no greater feeling in his life than going home to his wife and child after World War 3, beaten, battered, and bruised, but victorious. He says that means three things to him – one, that he was able to do the unthinkable; two, that “The Monster” actually <em>is</em> beatable; and three, that he and Vader are standing even at one-to-one in high profile victories over one another!</p><p> </p><p> This draws “The Monster” out of the back, and Sonny Onoo holds the microphone for him as he tells everyone that World War 3 was a fluke! He was too distracted by the World War 3 battle royal, saving his strength for that, but next time he’s in the ring with Cactus, there will be no lucky wins for Jack, all there will be is destruction and decimation by Vader! Cactus says that he accepts – and he knows exactly how to make sure that everyone in the world gets to see Cactus Jack go toe-to-toe with Vader on the biggest stage! Jack says that the WCW board are apparently having problems in deciding what matches to have at the Great American Bash, but Vader against Jack part three deserves that stage. He says that with the WarGames match already going on, he’s going to save WCW some production money – by bringing the two-ring cage down a match early, and letting he and Vader enter it! Vader shakes his head, saying that apparently, Cactus doesn’t know when to give it up; he will give Jack one week to change his mind, and go live a full, happy life with his family. Savage says that he heard that, and he doesn’t appreciate people talking about his acquaintances – if Pillman wanted to be a thorn in the side of “the Macho Man” and wanted a match that badly, then all he had to do was man up and say the word, because Randy has “been ready to take Pillman back to the Danger Zone ever since Uncensored, yeah!” Okerlund says that this will be yet one more match to be determined for the Great American Bash, as Savage yells that he’s gonna grease this cannon when he gets him in the ring!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Rating: B</em></p><p><em> Notes: Savage struggled with improvising, seeming to mutter incoherently a few times.</em></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWWorldTag.jpg</span><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveAustin.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BrianPillman3.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BookerT.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/StevieRay.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>WCW World Tag Team Championships</strong></p><p><strong> Steve Austin & “Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman vs. Harlem Heat</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Time Limit: 20:00</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:8px;"> Referee: Nick Patrick</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Booker and Pillman start this match off, a sign in the crowd saying “Don’t give the blondes a Stun Gun and a Cannon” as Brian laughs in the face of his challengers and jumps around the ring. The crowd are split almost down the middle, cheering both sides on. Everyone has their chances in this match, everyone teeters on the line between good and bad as the rules are bent to their brink by all four men. Harlem Heat take the lead with Brian in the ring, but the match turns around when Austin comes in and the former Hollywood Blonds corner Booker T on their side of the ring. The match goes to commercial on Brian flying over the top rope with a plancha onto the brothers from Harlem, and comes back with Austin holding Stevie down with a rear chinlock. Stevie fights back, shoving Austin off into the ropes, and hits a Harlem Sidekick to get the advantage back, which has swung, Dusty says, like a pendulum for this whole matchup. Stevie and Booker set up to hit Austin with the Big Apple Blast, but Pillman makes a save, taking out Booker’s knee with a low dropkick that puts him down. All four men in the ring, it becomes a brawl as the teams pair off against a member of the opposite duo. Stevie and Austin throw big punches at one another, while Brian and Booker chop one another across the chests. It seems almost simultaneous, that Booker ducks a clothesline and smashes Pillman’s mouth with a scissor kick, as Austin gets the better of Stevie Ray and drops him with the Stunner! Booker and Austin both cover their respective opponents, and Nick Patrick, having lost control, starts counting both – 1! 2! 3-no! The bell sounds just before the final count, and this one looks like it’s a draw! As the teams argue in the center of the ring about who the victors are, Tony sends us to commercial, saying that we aren’t sure what the ruling is here but we will find out and let you all know at the end!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>20:00 Time Limit Draw</em></p><p><em> Rating: B</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/kow.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel is in the ring when we come back from break, joined by Hollywood Hogan and “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper. Nick says that due to the circumstances in the previous match, he has found that Steve Austin and Brian Pillman are unfit champions, as they could not defeat Harlem Heat. Therefore, he is stripping them of the titles, and with no titles being held by the two, he is suspending them both from World Championship Wrestling, indefinitely! The crowd boos, but Nick hands the microphone over to Piper. Roddy says that one of the best laughs he’s gotten in the past few weeks has been Sting crying about his poor knee taking him out of World War 3! Piper says that if “The Stinger” knows what’s good for him, he’ll start to see that being out of the World title picture is a blessing in disguise, because even if he beats Hogan for the title, he’d have the rest of the KoW breathing down his neck! Hollywood takes the microphone (shooting a sidelong glance at Piper) before saying that there is no way he’s defending the World Heavyweight championship against Barry Windham tonight, or ever; he doesn’t deserve a shot, and even if he did deserve a shot, Hollywood doesn’t care! Nick takes the microphone back, and he says that as it pertains to Arn Anderson – not only will there be NO match between “The Enforcer” and Hollywood Hogan, but as Nick gave him another US title match, there will be NO WarGames match at the Great American Bash! The fans boo very loudly, obviously having wanted to see the match on pay-per-view!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong> “OBJECTION!” </strong></p><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/StevieRichards.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> With the loud call of “objection” over the PA system, to the top of the aisle walks Richard Stevenson, attorney at law! He says that while he has nothing really to say to Hollywood or Roddy, he is out here to stop Nick Bockwinkel from breaking the laws here in WCW! He says that Nick has no right to stop Arn Anderson from getting the WarGames match, nor can he suspend Austin and Pillman’s title reign! The commissioner is prepared, however, as he says that he doesn’t care what Stevenson says – he is the power around here, and as such, what he says is what goes, no matter what WCW law may be broken in the process! He says that he is the law of the Kings of Wrestling, and that makes him above the law in World Championship Wrestling! Richard asks him if he’s sure about that, to which Bockwinkel says that he couldn’t be more sure if his job and life depended on it! Stevenson says that if that’s the way it is, then he will do Nick one better; and announce the NEW power in WCW! Nick shakes his head, telling Hogan and Piper that there is no such thing, but Richard says that there is! And here he is, right now!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/WKsM2mdawM4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/TedDibiase.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The crowd go crazy, as out of the back walks Ted DiBiase! Hogan, Piper, and Bockwinkel are in shock, as Ted comes out and shakes hands with Richard! He takes the microphone from him, and he holds his hand up, signaling the music to fade. DiBiase says that he’s waited a long time to see his “old acquaintances” in the ring like this, but the time wasn’t right – until right now! He says that all the things that have happened to the Kings of Wrestling as of late, are HIS doing; because Ted is a major stockholder in World Championship Wrestling, and is also good friends and country club companion to the only absolute power in WCW, Ted Turner! DiBiase laughs, and the crowd cheer wildly for him, as for once, the KoW look worried!</p><p> </p><p> DiBiase says that for his first matter of business, he’s going to undo the damage that Bockwinkel is trying to do; Steve Austin and Brian Pillman are <em>still</em> World Tag Team champions, and they will not now, nor will they <em>ever</em> face suspension at the hands of the Kings of Wrestling ever again! The crowd really cheer that, as Nick puts his head in his hands! DiBiase also says that not only will Arn Anderson be granted this United States Heavyweight title match right here next week on WCW Saturday Night against Terry Gordy, but he will also get his WarGames match at the Great American Bash, against Dusty Rhodes and his members of the Kings of Wrestling!</p><p> </p><p> He now turns to Hogan specifically, and after a “Hi, Hulkster” with a smirk that shows Ted is in complete control, he says that the days of Hollywood getting out of challenges for his World Heavyweight title are over, because it was Ted himself who inked the match between Hogan and Barry Windham, tonight! DiBiase says that it’s funny, how just eight years ago, he was the one trying to buy his way into a title run, but now, it’s Hogan who has paid for his title reign, with the sweat of others as his currency. He says to Piper that he used to know him as a man of principle, but what principle is there in being a lapdog to the man who once kept you beneath him? Hollywood starts to tell DiBiase to shut his mouth, but Ted fires back that there is no reason for him to shut his mouth, and now that’s he’s in control, he’ll tell Hogan to shut HIS mouth, and get away with it, too! Ted laughs again, before saying that there is one other matter he must discuss – and that is Scott Hall. He says that he knows Hall is here tonight, and wants him to come out here now.</p><p> </p><p> Hall comes out of the crowd, as per his usual, and DiBiase tells him that “it hasn’t been long enough since I last saw you.” He says that he’s getting tired of Hall having a say in when he wrestles; so he is giving Scott an ultimatum. He has a week to sign an official World Championship Wrestling contract, or else he will be barred from all WCW shows from now until the end of time! As all the men in front of him start yelling their protests at him, DiBiase laughs at them all, saying that it’s a whole new set of rules for World Championship Wrestling, because Trillionaire Ted is the new man in charge! With another loud laugh, he says that Barry Windham will be out to face Hollywood Hogan right after this commercial break!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Ratings: B+, C+, B+</em></p><p><em> Notes: In the initial KoW part of this segment, Piper improvised masterfully and both Hollywood and Nick improvised quite well.</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWWorldKoW.jpg</span><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/Queen.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BarryWindham.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>WCW World Heavyweight Championship</strong></p><p><strong> Hollywood Hogan w/The Queen vs. Barry Windham</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Time Limit: TV Time Remaining</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:8px;"> Referee: Tommy Young</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Hogan throws his white rimmed sunglasses out at the crowd in his anger, as Barry Windham makes his way down to the ring. The Queen can be seen outside screaming at a fan in the front row, who holds up a sign in her face that says “The Horsemen Ride Again!” and holding up the four fingers toward her when she yells at him. Windham initiates a collar-and-elbow tie-up with the champion, and takes him into a headlock. Hogan backs into the ropes and sends Windham off, before flexing his muscles at Barry. Windham isn’t impressed at all though, as he hits Hogan with a slap to the face! Hogan, irate, charges Windham into the turnbuckle, as Tommy Young tries to come between them, but there is no clean break, as Hollywood punches Windham, getting right in his face to yell at him that he’s nothing, he’s not a challenger, he should have stayed in Texas! Windham shoves Hogan away, and he charges. Hogan ducks the first shot, but Windham hits the ropes and comes in with a hard lariat! The champion goes down to the mat, and he rolls outside quickly as Windham yells at him to “come on!” We go to commercial break there, and when we come back Hogan is still cooling things down by stalling around the outside of the ring. Tommy finally forces him to get into the ring and tie it up with Windham, and Hogan takes an advantage, as Dusty talks about how Windham hasn’t been on a big stage in quite some time. Hogan starts leaning on Barry, choking him on occasion until a four count but mainly working an abdominal stretch. The champion takes some extra leverage with the help of The Queen and the top rope behind Young’s back, grinding on Windham’s body as he is racked with pain. The legendary champion keeps badmouthing Windham the whole time, telling him that he isn’t worth this title match and never will be. After a few near-falls, Hogan starts getting irritated, and he starts slapping Windham around while putting the boots to him. Hollywood picks Barry up and shoves him into the corner, slapping him again – but it wakes Barry up! Windham slaps Hogan back, and the champion backs down, begging off! Windham comes in toward him, but Hogan pokes him in the eye! He brushes off a warning from Tommy Young, sending Barry into the ropes. Hogan goes for a big boot, but Barry ducks, and Hogan turns around into an overhand chop to the chest, which echoes around the arena! Barry starts throwing punches and chops at Hogan, pushing him back against the turnbuckle, before sending him into the opposite corner, rushing in – but Hogan pulls Tommy Young into the way of Windham’s clothesline! Young goes down, and Windham kicks Hogan in the stomach before setting him up on the top rope to look for the superplex. But out comes the troops, as Hogan’s personal bodyguard crew of The Jeep and Little Hollywood rush the ring. Windham fights them off, but “The Guardian Angel” makes his way into the ring as well. The three big men start doing a number on Windham, but he fights back still – until he gets hit in the back with a steel pipe by “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper! Windham goes down to the mat, and the three KoW bodyguards stomp away on him, until Piper tells them to exit. They roll Barry over, into perfect position for Hogan to hit the leg drop as Tommy Young comes back around! Hogan mocks Windham by covering him with one foot, the beatdown unfortunately ensuring the three count! Dusty crows on commentary about how Barry never stood a chance, as Hollywood Hogan poses in the ring with the World Heavyweight championship and his KoW accomplices as the show goes off the air.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><em>Winner in 17:31 and still World Heavyweight champion: Hollywood Hogan</em></p><p><em> Rating: B</em></p><p><em> Notes: I did actually get a note that Windham is still a bit rusty, or else this one probably would have rated higher.</em></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35691" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWMainEvent-1.jpg</span><p> WCW Main Event</p><p> Announcers: Tony Schiavone, Eric Bischoff, Mike Tenay</p><p> Rating: C-</p><p> </p><p> Sgt. Tony welcomes everyone to the Cow Palace, and talks about what a huge show we have coming up: tag team action as “Hired Hand” Scott Hall teams up with “Macho Man” Randy Savage to take on Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, and in our main event, Arn Anderson gets his return match for the WCW United States Heavyweight title against Terry Gordy! Dusty says that he can’t wait to see the Horsemen get theirs tonight; Tony asks what he means by that, but Rhodes says he’s just excited. Dusty talks about how his boy Meng gets to take on WCW’s poster boy Sting, and also mentions the interview between “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper and Gordon Solie tonight; wondering if maybe Gordon has figured out that he should join the KoW! Tony doubts that, but says that he was just told before we went on air that we have a big announcement coming in a little bit from both Nick Bockwinkel AND Ted DiBiase! Also matches finally being officially announced for the Great American Bash! There are actually a few times during the match that this seems true, as the duo really give the champs a good run. Flair tells him to calm down a little bit, because the Horsemen aren’t complete yet. Ric explains that even though he and Steamboat have been tentative partners for the past few months, the Horsemen and “The Dragon” just don’t go hand-in-hand. Ricky shakes his head in agreement, as Windham adds that there’s just too much water under the bridge for the Horsemen and Barry to work together. Rhodes asks who the Horsemen are though, why they haven’t told him? But Flair tells him that the easy answer is that they haven’t decided one hundred percent as of yet. “Double A” tells him that they have a lot of feelers out, it’s just getting the word from the right person first. Bockwinkel says that his work alongside New-Japan and the great young stars of Mexico have led to this moment, DiBiase agreeing with him in saying that the thing is, these great young stars deserve their own spotlight. Dusty says that they will definitely find the best out of the eight with them all working at that kind of breakneck speed through the tournament. The former bodyguard keeps Sting on the defensive for the majority of the match, but Sting’s never-say-die attitude and the support of his “Little Stingers” keep him going. Sting tries a few times to get the Scorpion Deathlock cinched in, but Meng’s incredible leg strength keeps him from it each time. Luger runs Sting down on commentary for most of this one, saying that with all due respect to Dusty, the Sting who he was friends with a few years ago would have won this one already, and probably punched Orndorff in the face by now. Meng even locks on the Tongan Deathgrip in this one, but against what Luger says – that this one is over – Sting fights the pain back to his feet, and he chops and kicks his way out of it, before hitting Meng with a flurry that culminates in a big Stinger Splash in the corner! Not leaving it to chance, Sting quickly heads up the turnbuckle, kicking Orndorff away when he jumps up on the apron, before leaping off with a huge splash from the top rope! However, he says, the Sting he once knew would have taken Meng and put him locked him in the Scorpion Deathlock until, as tough a man as Meng is, he would have screamed in pain and agony. Luger gets into the ring, and he tells Sting right to his face that he almost is thinking about calling off their match at the Great American Bash, because if Sting is not going to fight to his fullest potential as he has tonight, then Luger is worried he might hurt Sting! Sting doesn’t take this verbal assault lying down though, and he throws a punch right to Lex’s mouth! This is a vicious match between four very talented wrestlers, and it’s all Tommy can do to keep them in line. It’s a big brawl for the opening of the match, as punches and chops are thrown by all four men, but Flair and Steamboat are able to send their rivals out of the ring. Savage and Hall get on the same page though, and Steamboat ends up being caught in the wrong part of town with his throat being worked over by the devious duo. Hall hits his signature moves, the Payout fallaway slam and Blank Check super belly-to-back being used to great damage on Ricky. Steamboat keeps trying to get toward the corner every chance he can, but Hall and Savage are wily, keeping him from getting there at every turn. Scott Hall even drops “The Dragon” with the Financial Edge, but Flair comes in and breaks up the pin! Scott tags out to “The Macho Man” who shoves Steamboat into the corner and begins hitting him with sharp punches to the forehead. After being admonished by Young, he sends Steamboat into the ropes, but gets hit with a desperation DDT when he drops his head a moment too soon! “The Dragon” crawls toward the corner… and he makes the tag! Flair comes in chopping, as Hall enters the ring as well. Flair smacks him with a knife-edge chop to the chest as well, but Tony notes that there seems to be a commotion from in the crowd. As Randy Savage climbs to the turnbuckle, looking for a flying double axe handle to Flair’s unsuspecting back, it looks like… it is! “The Loose Cannon” has emerged from the crowd, and he has grabbed Savage’s attention – and Flair grabs Savage, throwing him into the ring! Flair hops up onto the second rope, and he comes off with a crossbody – 1! 2! 3! He gets into the ring and says that he would like to be the first to welcome Gordon Solie to the wonderful world of retirement; as someone who has left the business once or twice himself, he wants to wish Gordon the best in his future. Solie thanks him, but says that with his own retirement in mind, he has something he wishes to ask Piper. Roddy tells him to go for it, cockily looking out to the crowd; as Gordon asks the question “Why does Roddy Piper, with all of your own accomplishments and your own ambitions and wants, your own character, why does Roddy Piper play second best to Hollywood Hogan?” Piper’s look goes cold, and he looks back to Solie in astonishment. Piper says that perhaps Gordon wants to review his question there, but Solie says that Roddy heard him; he talks about how years ago, when a name that is lost in time attacked him, the first man who stood up for him was “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Gordon says that ever since, he has always considered Piper a friend, but ever since last July, he hasn’t been able to look at Piper the same! So Solie asks again: “Why does Roddy Piper play second best to Hollywood Hogan – and more than that, where is Roddy Piper’s World title shot?”<p> </p><p> Roddy thinks about it, looking around, but his eyes fall briefly upon a sign in the crowd that says “Piper > Hogan”. Jimmy Hart steps in, telling Solie that he needs to mind his own business and keeps his old nose out of things that don’t concern him! Gordon replies that, with all due respect to Jimmy Hart, he didn’t ask him to answer, he asked Piper! Hart looks ready to burst, but Piper puts a hand on his shoulder, brushing him away. Piper says that Gordon’s question does cut him deep; Randy Savage has been the first to mention it, that he wanted a title shot had he won World War 3. Piper says that the thought has not escaped his mind, however Hollywood is the man who he, Dusty, and Nick put in this position. Well, Piper says, that means to throw down the gauntlet within the KoW would be pretty counteractive, wouldn’t it? Gordon says that he doesn’t believe Piper is answering the question – he’s using the KoW as an excuse, and maybe, he dares to say maybe Piper is afraid to challenge Hogan! Roddy instantly gets furious, and he grabs Gordon by his lapels, screaming he’s not afraid of anyone! Piper says that the Kings of Wrestling was their idea, it was their vehicle to stay on top, and it’s what is bringing all these people to WCW! Gordon is backed into the turnbuckle, Piper yelling at him off of the microphone as Solie begs off. Tony says that this has gotten heated, we need to put a stop to this, but Dusty says that Roddy should let him have it for sticking his nose in someone else’s bidness!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RickySteamboat.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> Tired as he likely is after his match earlier, out of the back runs “The Dragon” Ricky Steamboat! Another of Gordon’s friends over the years, Steamboat hits the ring and pulls Piper off of Solie, chopping him in the chest numerous times! Ricky sends Piper into the ropes, but Piper is able to hold on and slip out of the ring. Jimmy Hart isn’t so lucky though, as Steamboat catches him and chops him as well! Ricky holds Hart in place, and Gordon gets a chop to Jimmy’s chest as well, before Hart scurries out of the ring! Flair chops him, but the Road Warriors assault him, leading to all three of them beating him down to the mat! The Warriors then move over to Steamboat, and everyone takes him down, throwing him out over the top rope to the floor. Hawk and Animal lift Anderson up and smash him with the Doomsday Device!
