WCW '94: War of the Thrones

Recommended Posts

Brilliant booking for the title match, bet noone ever saw that coming. So new and fresh. Very nWo-ish without being a carbon copy, bringing an identity of its' own. I'm impressed and happy to see my mod spurring imaginative writing like this. Keep up the good work.

WCW Hotline: July 1994, Week 4

WCW Hotline; July Week 4, 1994

Press 1 for WCW Pay-Per-View information!

Press 2 for a message from WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel!

Press 3 for Information about contract signings this week!

Press 4 for WCW Saturday Night preview!

Press 5 for last week's ratings breakdown!

Press 9 for WWF Monday Night Raw results!

Option 1: When is WCW back on pay-per-view?

Fans will only have to wait until the third Sunday of August, in order to see the first ever pay-per-view broadcast of Clash of the Champions! Keep calling the WCW Hotline each week to find out what matches have been added to the card!

Option 2: From the desk of Mr. Bockwinkel!

"Hello fans, acting commissioner Nick Bockwinkel here. I want to send my apologies to the fans who wanted to see the clash of the titans between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, as we did not get a definitive winner due to the actions of Jimmy Hart, Mr. T, and Roddy Piper.... and apparently Hulk Hogan is to blame as well. We had secretly been in negotiation with Mr. Piper, as we wanted him to work with World Championship Wrestling. But never did we imagine this would happen when we did. Apparently these men have had a deep seeded hatred for our side of the wrestling world for quite some time, and I can only hope that they do not begin poisoning the water, so to speak, and getting more followers to their cause. War has been declared. And it will have casualties."

Option 3: Returning heroes?

WCW have reached out to one of the best tag teams in the history of wrestling, the Rock 'n Roll Express! Newer fans may have only seen them in singles action on some other show, but trust us when we say that you've never witnessed anything like a Rock 'n Roll Express tag team match!

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

The Bash at the Beach fallout is like a timebomb ready to explode! New World champion Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper are set to be in the building, and Hogan says he's going to call out a friend who's going to help show that his way of thinking is the only way!

In our main event, the beast called Vader is going to face off with a man who came up short at the Bash, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat! Vader is looking to continue his hot streak after putting an end to his rivalry with The Guardian Angel (who is not scheduled to appear due to injuries sustained during the match with Vader) while Steamboat is out to get back into winning ways.

The time is finally here - "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes is going to get his hands on Colonel Robert Parker! It's been a long time coming, but could the Colonel have something up his sleeve?

In other action, WCW Television champ Lord Steven Regal, Jean-Paul Levesque, Ron Simmons, and the number one contenders for the WCW Tag Team titles The Nasty Boys will all be on hand, and the long anticipated debut of "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright! Also in a non-title match, Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan take on the bad boys from New York, Harlem Heat!

Full Saturday Night card

Who is Hulk Hogan going to call out?

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Vader

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. Colonel Robert Parker

Non-title: Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan vs. Harlem Heat

WCW World Television title match: Lord Steven Regal w/Sir William vs. Erik Watts

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright vs. "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton

Ron Simmons vs. Terry Taylor

The Nasty Boys vs. Jumpin' Joey Maggs & "Hardwork" Bobby Walker

Jean-Paul Levesque vs. Brad Armstrong

Option 5: Last Week's Neilsen Ratings

WCW Saturday Night on TBS garnered a 6.33 rating, compared to Raw's 5.88.

Option 9: "That Other Show"

This week we are almost up to WWF In Your House, and given it was headlined by matches between Bret Hart beating Jeff Jarrett and then The Undertaker defeating Yokozuna, you would think the show would be better.... but that wouldn't be the WWF, would it? They ran their new In Your House show the day before our own Bash at the Beach, and whereas we featured the biggest moment in the history of wrestling.... they had a match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. As if those two together would ever make huge wrestling news.

---------------------------

Thank you all so much for the feedback, I've been looking forward to posting that show and especially that main event interview for about a month now! I actually wrote that out before I even started posting the game, because I wanted to make it special.

And I am truly honored to be nominated this early into the game for DOTM, and for any votes that I get. It's only gonna build from here; the first month was all just the preface. Now the titular "War of the Thrones" has finally begun!

WCW Television - July 1994, Week 4

WCW Saturday Night

July 1994, Week 4

Announcers: Tony Schiavone, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes

Held at: Manly Field House (Tri State)

Attendance: 10,000 (Sold Out)

Show Rating: B-

The show opens cold, to the sight of some people that nobody are wanting to see right now.

Jimmy Hart, Mr. T, and Roddy Piper are on hand also, as well as "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. Hogan is addressing them all, saying first that he welcomes "Mr. Wonderful" to the fold; he says that he was happy to see that his old friend was the first one to approach them last night to "climb out of the scum and start hangin' with the REAL big boys." Hogan says that he wants them all to be on the lookout for Ric Flair, as he knows Flair is probably gonna be here wanting to start a fight, and none of them can afford that - after all, Hogan has a photo op to get to tomorrow.

We go to ringside after the opening Saturday Night video, and Tony Schiavone and Dusty Rhodes not only welcome us to the show but also welcome to commentary Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Bobby tells them that "I'm not one to say I told ya so, but I TOLD YOU SO! I told everyone that Hogan couldn't be trusted, and now look, now he's back there with that jackal Piper, and that little rodent Jimmy Hart, and that fool's gold wearing dummy Mr. T, and now look at Paul Orndorff! And they have all the control!" Tony says those are some strong words, but words that everyone are thinking, as we head to the ring for our first match.

Jean-Paul Lévesque vs. Brad Armstrong

Armstrong does what he can, but this one has very little drama to it as Jean-Paul never gives up the lead of the match for long. The only time it waivers a little is when Brian Armstrong comes out from the back and Lévesque takes his eye off the ball for a split-second, leading to Brad taking advantage and getting a quick roll-up for two. After that, however, Lévesque strikes hard and fast, dismantling Armstrong and hitting him with the Pedigree for the win.

Winner: Jean-Paul Lévesque

"Beautiful" Bobby Eaton vs. "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright

Alex Wright dances his way to the ring to some German techno music. The newcomer does well in his big match, using his speed and the lack of knowledge about him to keep a step ahead of Eaton at every turn. At one point, Wright's inexperience edge shows as he telegraphs a top rope move that Eaton dodges away from. Beautiful Bobby starts working over the arm of Wright, and after what seems a successful amount of time he goes up top for the Alabama Jam. But Alex moves, causing Eaton to crash down on his tailbone! As Eaton gets back to his feet, Wright grabs him and bridges back into a German suplex for the three count.

Winner: "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright

Backstage we see Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat walking around. He looks like something is on his mind as he enters a door and finds "Stunning" Steve Austin! Austin turns to face him and immediately starts running his mouth, asking Steamboat if he came to get on his knees and bow down to the "Dragon Slayer" since Steamboat couldn't get it done at Bash at the Beach! Steamboat takes the insults in stride, and he tells Austin that he has one thing on his mind now - and that's fighting for WCW in order to combat Hulk Hogan and his band of no good scumbags! Austin asks what he wants here then, and Steamboat tells him that as much as he wants to take care of Hogan, he has one thing nagging the back of his mind - Austin. The tainted way he finished their match, Steamboat has to see it through with him and find out if Austin was really the better man, by having another match next week on Saturday Night! Austin says that as champion, he doesn't HAVE to have another match - but he'll think about if he wants to slay the dragon again! Steamboat tells him to think on it, but tells him "Know this, Austin - if you don't, then one day you'll lie awake, thoughts in your head wondering if you really were the better man."

Total destruction. This isn't even worth words; Sags eventually put us all out of our misery by hitting the Pit Stop on Walker and getting the win.

Backstage in the dressing room of Hogan, Piper, Mr. T, and Orndorff again. Hogan and Piper are talking about later tonight, when Hogan says they're going to call out a "friend" who should be in agreement with them. Hogan says that he's not worried about that - he only wonders how long it'll take before Flair comes calling again. Piper says there's no way Flair would show up tonight after what happened at the Bash. "Not that I'm worried, brother. I just don't wanna get his blood on our hands again when he gets all hot headed. He should be in line with us, anyways." Piper agrees, saying Flair should be one of them; he's been around the block on guys wanting to make their name off of him, too. Everyone seems in agreement?

WCW World Television championship

Lord Steven Regal with Sir William vs. Erik Watts

Yeah, another nothing match. Noticing a pattern here? This is a hugely angle-heavy show, as the matches aren't really worth noting. Regal gives Watts a proper thrashing and then puts him away with the Regal Stretch.

Diamond Dallas Page is backstage enjoying one of his oversized cigars. He comes upon Johnny B. Badd, and Badd gets offended at Page's smoke. DDP asks him if he's upset it'll make his mascara run, and says that a chump like Badd should be lighting his cigars for him - given he certainly can't win any titles around here. Badd takes offense, and the two start shoving one another, their words getting more furious by the second. Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel appears on the scene and he separates the two, saying that this isn't the type of environment he's running. He tells them both to return to the dressing rooms. Nick leaves after things seem calm again, until Page says something to the tune of "You're just lucky ol' Nicky was here" and Badd turns around and smashes the cigar against Page's face with his fist before leaving.

Ron Simmons vs. Terry Taylor

Taylor uses a bit of hit-and-run to try and take Simmons off his feet, but he doesn't seem to realize that Simmons is no slow, dumb brute - he throws Taylor around the ring like a ragdoll, the only offense seeming to come when Big Ron allows Taylor to get in a few shots. Terry does use his experience edge to get Simmons down and hooks on an armbar, but that proves fatal as well; Simmons gets to his feet and shoves Taylor into the ropes, and on the rebound he picks Taylor up and smashes him into the mat with a spinebuster. Just to add insult to injury, Simmons lets Taylor drag himself to his feet before blasting him with a three point stance shoulderblock for the win.

Backstage to the new World Heavyweight champion again, as it's only Hogan in the room now. That changes however when in barges Flyin' Brian! Brian asks if the celebration party is still on, because he never got the invite, and Hogan says "I dunno brother, maybe your invitation got lost in the mail." Brian - who is still wearing around the signed Hulkster t-shirt - asks Hogan as to why Piper and Orndorff got to join up with him and Brian didn't get asked? Since he's Hulk's biggest fan. Hogan says that he toooootally mentioned Brian's name to them, but they didn't think he'd proven himself good enough to be one of them yet. Pillman is instantly hot, and he says he'll do anything to be on the Hulkster's side! Hogan looks around, trying to find any way he can to end this conversation, and he glances at the monitor. He smiles, almost like the Grinch (maybe he wants that role in a few years?) and tells Pillman that if he can go beat Ron Simmons, then maybe he'll have a chance to join them. Brian looks scared for a moment, but determination sets in, he says "Will do, Hulk!" and he rushes out of the room! Hogan shakes his head, almost in disbelief, as we go to the ring.

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes is in the ring, ready for his five minutes with Colonel Robert Parker. Parker comes out, and he's flanked by the entirety of the Stud Stable! The bell is about to sound, when Commissioner Bockwinkel interrupts! He says that Dustin won this match fair and square by pinning Terry Funk at Bash at the Beach, and he's not going to let it get ruined by onlookers. He says that since Meng is Parker's personal bodyguard, he can't do anything about him, but he's ejecting Funk and Buck from ringside! Parker has a conniption!

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. Colonel Robert Parker with Meng

A five minute clocks appears at the corner of the screen. Parker's game is lost now, as he now only has Meng as backup instead of the might of the full Stable behind him. Rhodes is loving it though, and he offers the Colonel a free shot. Parker comes over and pummels Rhodes with a right hand to the face - to no effect! Dustin is fired up, and he kicks Parker in the stomach, then shoots him into the ropes, hitting him with a running clothesline! "The Natural" has been waiting for this for quite some time! He shoves Parker into the turnbuckles and climbs up, hitting the ten punch on him, as his five minutes ticks down. When Dustin gets down from the turnbuckle Parker rolls outside, as Meng climbs onto the ring apron! Dustin tells him to bring it as well, as the bodyguard enters the ring. Meng stands there, and he spinkicks Colonel Parker?! Meng throws Parker to Rhodes, then leaves not just the ring but the entire ringside area! Dustin is shocked, and then he gets angry - he gets a pin over Parker, but he didn't get all that he wanted out of it.

Tony says that there is a commotion backstage that we're going to send it to now, and we see that Ron Simmons is being assaulted! Flyin' Brian has a chair, and he must have struck on an unsuspecting Simmons! He's beating Ron down with the weapon until he's lying on the ground. Officials swarm the scene, but Brian has already left, so excited and proclaiming "I'm gonna be with Hogan over this!"

Back to Mean Gene, he quickly pimps the WCW Hotline before bringing in his guest, the monster Vader! Okerlund asks him about The Guardian Angel, and Vader says he's done with that big chump. Even with that actor as referee, he STILL beat The Angel in the middle of the ring, one-two-three. Vader says he has let this go on for far too long, and now, it's gonna be Vader Time again.

Non-Title match: Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan with Dave Sullivan vs. Harlem Heat

Cactus and Booker start the match, tying up and shoving off one another. Booker gets Jack backed up into the Heat corner, and tags out to Stevie Ray, who comes in and starts with forearms to Cactus. But Cactus is able to withstand the punishment, and he fires back with rights of his own, rocking the big man. Cactus runs the ropes and kicks Stevie in the gut, then sends him into the turnbuckles. Jack starts hitting forearms to Stevie's face, pounding him down to the mat. Cactus tags in Sullivan, who comes in blazing on Ray with rights and lefts. He takes Stevie down with a headlock and tries to get a quick pin, but Stevie gets a shoulder up at two. Stevie Ray gets back to his feet and sends Sullivan into the ropes, and Booker knees Kevin in the back from the outside!

Stevie Ray tags back out to Booker T, and Booker takes over with some knife-edge chops. He hooks a rear chinlock on Kevin and starts wearing him down, turning it to a surfboard stretch. Sullivan struggles up, but when he does Booker releases one of his arms and pulls him into a back heel kick. Booker goes for a pin, but gets a two. Booker and Stevie now both get in the ring, and Booker sends Kevin into the ropes. Stevie gets down to make Sullivan jump over him, while Booker leans down to back body drop him - but Sullivan stops, throws Booker on top of Stevie, and double stomps both of them! Cactus comes in, and he starts brawling with Stevie Ray. He turns and clotheslines Booker over the top rope, leaving Kevin and Stevie alone in the ring. Sullivan bodyslams Stevie Ray and hooks him up with the stump puller! Kevin pulls on Stevie's leg, trying to force him to submit. A loud crash is heard, as Cactus Jack's body goes flying into the wooden stairs. Kevin doesn't even see it as Booker comes off the top rope and nails him in the side of the head with a missile dropkick! Booker makes the cover, and Sullivan stays down! Harlem Heat just defeated the World Tag Team champions!

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Vader

The main event of the evening features two men who were on very different footing in the results column of Bash at the Beach. Steamboat is unafraid, even as Vader flexes and grunts in his face - "The Dragon" has seen it all in his time. Steamboat slips away instead of locking up, and he kicks the monster in the back of the knee. Vader again tries to grab Ricky, but he's a wily old man, slipping away again and chopping more at the trees holding up the big Vader. Heenan notes on commentary that this strategy is good for a start, but as soon as Vader finally catches Steamboat, he's gonna murder him. Vader is getting visibly agitated, and it costs him as Steamboat uses a miscue in order to hook a deep armdrag and sends Vader halfway across the ring! Commentary are amazed at the agility used there, as Vader shakes it off. He gets to his feet and grunts out a "Who's the man?!" Steamboat stays away some more, before coming in and ducking a punch and hitting a chop! Steamboat chops away on Vader, pushing him into the ropes. He sends Vader off, but Bobby's prediction comes true as Vader doesn't even duck whatever Steamboat was trying, he simply plows him with the body block.

The entire match now swings the other direction, as Vader starts using his bulk to keep his opponent on the ground. He uses rapid punches, stomps, even hooks on an STF. Steamboat keeps on trying to come back, showing glimpses here and there of fight left in him. He hits a chop any chance he gets, but for the most part Vader keeps him on the backfoot for a lot of the time. Vader goes up for his pump splash, but Steamboat rolls toward the turnbuckle, causing Vader to crash to the mat! Steamboat goes up top and dives off, hitting a chop to the top of Vader's head! "The Dragon" looks ready to get on the match, screaming to fire up the crowd. He goes to the top, looking for a crossbody. But a voice interrupts.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveAustin.jpg

Austin is on the microphone in the entrance, and he says "Hey Dragon! I'll see you next week!" Steamboat is distracted enough in looking at Austin that he doesn't see that Vader has recovered, and the monster trips Steamboat! Steamboat crotches on the turnbuckle, and Vader pulls him off and lifts him, smashing him down with a powerbomb! Vader covers and gets the win, as Austin laughs on the floor.

Now it's time for main event interview, as new World Heavyweight champion Hulk Hogan makes his way out to the ring, alongside Roddy Piper and...

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Butcher.jpg

Whoa, where did HE come from? Hogan takes the microphone and says that all those in the crowd should be bowing down to the new kings of wrestling! "We are the icons, and none of you are worth seeing us unless it's on the big screen, brother! That's where the big money is - certainly not here! That's why from here on, you people should be lucky to see Hollywood Hogan out here in front of you!" The fans boo loudly, as Hogan now takes a moment, saying that he wants to introduce all the "rednecks in the audience and the back" to his best friend, who isn't some lame barber anymore - now he's "The Butcher"! Hogan says that all the people asking "Why Hulk?" need to order teh replay of Bash at the Beach, because he's not explaining anything again. Hogan says that after he won the title, he wants to say that there's no hard feelings with Ric Flair - in fact, he wants to offer Flair a chance to join with them! Hogan says that he has someone else in mind though, an old friend who he knows should jump at the chance to be one of the top of the industry like they are, someone who's known fan support everywhere he's gone and been an iconic person in his own right - Hacksaw Jim Duggan!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/JimDuggan.jpg

Jim Duggan marches out to the ring, flag and 2x4 in hand. Thumbs up's and "HOOOOO"s are the thing of the day now, as the fans enjoy seeing him, but are both curious about where Duggan stands, and also a little let down that it wasn't someone more important. Duggan enters the ring and Hogan tries to sell him on the spiel, top of the industry, icons, etc. Duggan takes the microphone and tells them that he wants to start off by saying... "HOOOOOOOO!!" He goes on to start reaming Hogan, Piper, Butcher, and Hart out for the way they're acting! Duggan says that he does consider himself a friend to all of them, or he did, until last Sunday! He gives a resounding NO to the idea of joining with them! Hogan says that he can't believe Duggan would turn them down like this; after all, just because Duggan is all about America, he needs to realize that just like Hogan threw down the yellow and red, so has America. He says, just like at Bash at the Beach, the only colors that matter are the "black and white facts" and the fact is, this was Duggan's one chance - and Butcher clobbers him from behind! Piper and Hogan also start putting the boots to Duggan, and the crowd boos them loudly. But then cheers!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RicFlair.jpg

The Nature Boy! He hits the ring and on his way picks up Duggan's 2x4, and he cleans house! He swings away with the board, sending all of the self-proclaimed "kings" running! Flair helps Duggan to his feet, and the crowd give him loud cheers. Hogan says again from the outside "You can still turn this around! I'll ask you next week!" as Flair ends the show on a high note.

WCW Hotline; August Week 1, 1994

Press 1 for WCW Clash of the Champions control center!

Press 2 for WCW newsfeed!

Press 3 for WCW roster information!

Press 4 for WCW Saturday Night preview!

Press 5 for last week's ratings breakdown!

Press 6 for who's birthdays are this month!

Press 8 for WWF Monday Night Raw results!

Press 9 for a WCW Catalog gift!

Option 1: Clash of the Champions control center!

The only match set thus far for the Clash will see the World Tag Team champions Kevin Sullivan and Cactus Jack getting their hands on The Nasty Boys! That one should be chaotic! Keep calling the WCW Hotline in future weeks to find out more matches!

Option 2: Notes leaked to us here at the WCW Hotline!

Some around the company are throwing around the idea of bringing in a new championship, whether something brand new or perhaps one from the past. We hear it's very hush-hush right now, but keep calling the WCW Hotline and we will keep you posted! Another thing we will keep you posted on is the possiblity of WCW appearing on television in new markets. We're trying to get WCW to fans all over the world! Also, beginning this month, WCW are going to begin licensing music for our shows, so that fans can identify better with our stars. Just one more thing we're willing to do for our fans that some "other" companies won't!

Option 3: Comings and Goings

Mr. T and Erik Watts both have left the company, as their contracts expired. In an update from last week, the Rock 'n Roll Express were very excited for the idea of working with WCW again.

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

It's official, and you heard it here first - making his return to WCW arenas after nearly a month away will be THE STINGER!! What's Sting going to have to say about the goings-on between Hollywood Hogan and Ric Flair now?

Speaking of the two, Hollywood Hogan says he is going to offer the olive branch to Flair and give him a chance to join him and Roddy Piper! Will "The Nature Boy" stick to his guns? Consider that we have seen Flair do some pretty shady deals in the past!

A huge rematch will take place between "Stunning" Steve Austin and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat for the WCW United States championship! And in our main event, the monster Vader will see if it truly is "Vader Time" as he takes on "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson! Cactus Jack looks to get retribution from the tag team loss last week as he takes on Harlem Heat's Booker T, and after the assault last week, Hacksaw Jim Duggan makes his WCW debut to take on The Butcher! All this and more, this saturday at 6:05 ET only on TBS!

Full Satuday Night Card

"Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Vader

WCW United States championship: Stunning Steve Austin vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. The Butcher

Booker T vs. Cactus Jack

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. "Pretty" Paul Roma

Option 5: Ratings Battle!

Last week's Saturday Night had a 6.28 rating on TBS. Down a little, but still better than Raw's 5.93. Main Event stayed at its reguar 0.60.

Option 6: Happy Birthday to WCW stars!

Blowing out candles this month are Hollywood Hogan, who turns 41; "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton, Stevie Ray of Harlem Heat, and refree Brady Boone, who all turn 36; Terry Taylor, who will be 39; Bunkhouse Buck, turning 44; and backstage official Jody Hamilton, formerly known as The Assassin, who is 56.

Option 8: "The Other Guys"

They tried to pull a fast one, but we're on to them now! On the taping from Tuesday, July week 4, they showed how much they really believe in the "new generation" when Randy Savage and Jerry Lawler competed in the semi-main event. Savage won that with an elbow drop, and then Lex Luger used a steel plated forearm to defeat Bam Bam Bigelow. Too bad he didn't try the Human Torture Rack - believe us, it's called Human Torture Rack. He learned it while in WCW!

Option 9: A Gift from WCW Catalog!

If you mail your cable receipt showing you ordered WCW Bash at the Beach 94 to WCW headquarters in Atlanta, GA, you can get a FREE Sting t-shirt! Supplies are limited, so act now!

-------------------

Sorry everyone for the bit of delay, didn't feel like writing much the past week. But I did book ahead a week, so I am still somewhat ahead of things! I want to thank everyone again for the comments and replies, and I want to add that this month, between now and the Clash, I'm going to have a prediction contest! Yes, it will matter now! So thanks everyone who's tuning in, I may delay once in awhile, but I'm still here!

WCW Television - August 1994, Week 1

WCW Saturday Night

August 1994, Week 1

Announcers: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, and Dusty Rhodes

Held at: Peoria Civic Center (Great Lakes)

Attendance: 10,000 (sold out!)

Rating: B+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RicFlair.jpg

The new idea of "lay out money for entrance music" is in full effect right off the bat, as the sounds of Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" brings out the WCW World Heavyweight champion, Hollywood Hogan. Hogan gets in the ring and says that he wants to make one thing perfectly clear - he does not hold any personal grudge at this point toward Ric Flair, and if Flair is calm now, he wants to welcome him not only to the ring, but also to the Kings of Wrestling. It doesn't take long before "The Nature Boy" makes his way out, and he doesn't look all that amused. He stands at the entranceway and says that he's going to remain there, because if he gets in that ring right now, he's going to punch Hogan's teeth down his throat! Flair offers a simple message: "Last time, I was all business. The next time we face off, it's going to be personal."

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/PaulOrndorff.jpg

And there's the ambush! Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff strike from behind, beating on Flair two-on-one. Tony Schiavone calls them no better than a street gang. From the ring, Hogan berates Flair, saying he should have joined them. He yells about how the tables have turned; Hogan is the one with all the friends, and Flair is all alone trying to take on the mountain.

But maybe not!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ArnAnderson.jpg

Arn Anderson comes running out from the back and hits Orndorff with a tire iron! Piper takes a hit to the stomach and then he runs off. "The Enforcer" helps Flair to his feet, and the two stare at Hogan, before rushing the ring! Hogan is all alone, and he takes off out of the ring on the other side! Piper joins him at the entranceway, holding a dazed Orndorff up. Hogan gets on the microphone and says that both of them will be sorry! Flair and Anderson have cleared the ring!

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. "Pretty" Paul Roma

A decent little match, though the crowd were still kinda caught up in Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. Roma tried to overpower Rhodes, as commentary were curious as to what Roma's stance on his Pretty Wonderful partner was now that Orndorff has been active with the Kings of Wrestling. Roma's physique only got him so far, as Rhodes was able to use his wit and - pun intended - natural abilities in order to get over on Roma and finish him off with a running bulldog.

Winner: Dustin Rhodes

"The Natural" stays in the ring and gets a microphone, and he talks about how last week was supposed to be one of his shining achievements in wrestling. After months, he was finally able to get his hands on Colonel Parker. Dustin claimed that it should have been his second-best moment in the sport, right after teaming with his daddy "The American Dream". But Dustin says his moment was ruined, when instead of getting to exact all of his revenge, Parker's bodyguard Meng attacked his owner and left him lying on the mat. Dustin says that Parker probably deserved it, but he wants to know why, and he wants Meng to come out here right now to explain himself! Dustin stands in the ring waiting, but there is no response. Dustin finally shakes his head and says that he's gonna find Meng somewhere and find out just what is going on.

Mean Gene is backstage with the World Tag Team champions Kevin Sullivan and Cactus Jack. Jack starts off saying how pathetic it is that while he and Kevin are in WCW wrestling week in and week out, the Nasty Boys have run away to Japan, to come back for their scheduled match at the Clash. Sullivan takes the helm, saying that he hopes the Nastys have a good trip over in New Japan, because when they come back, they have two of the sickest men in pro wrestling waiting for them.

"Hol' up, hol' up!"

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BookerT.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/StevieRay.jpg

Harlem Heat! Booker T and Stevie Ray enter the picture, and Booker says that Kevin and Cactus can talk all that they want, but the fact is, last week they got beaten by the hottest team in America, the Harlem Heat! Stevie says that if Jack and Sullivan wanna talk about being bad, they just fruit booties compared to the Heat. Booker says that thanks to their win, they oughtta be getting the match at the Clash, but the champs get out of facing them just because they signed onto a match with the not-so-Nastys first. Cactus tells them that he and Kevin aren't backing down from anyone; "it's not my way to step to the side, if I have to I'll run into that brick wall headfirst time after time until I knock it down!", however Sullivan says that the Heat are gonna have to wait in line like everybody else, because the Nasty Boys are their top priority right now. Kevin tells Cactus and Booker that they need to get out of here for their match, and Kevin says Jack is going to show Booker that last week was a fluke and they deserve no shot. Booker and Stevie walk out saying "We'll see 'bout that, sucka" as Jack asks Kevin what his problem is, as we go out to the ring.

Booker T. vs. Cactus Jack

Cactus starts the match hot, trying to show that the win Booker and Stevie Ray got last week is not a weakness on the champions. They have a pretty even match, both men making several near-falls on one another. Jack takes all the kicks and athletic offense that Booker can level him with, and still manages to keep surging back. He finally catches a break when Booker miscues a back body drop, and Cactus throws him to his back - but Booker spins back to his feet! He leads with a jumping sidekick, and it catches nothing as Cactus ducks - he kicks an off-balance Booker and drops him with a double arm DDT for the win!

Hollywood Hogan is pacing backstage, and one look at his face shows that he is not happy at how the opening of the night went. And much to his dismay, he's approached by an excited Flyin' Brian. Brian says that he "knows the Hulkster isn't feeling all that good since he got run off earlier, but never fear! I beat up Ron Simmons last week!" Hogan rubs his temples, exasperated. He shakes his head, and says that wasn't what he meant - he meant beat Simmons IN A MATCH. It dawns on Brian that his attack probably has the all-American furious, and to get what he wants he now has to face him! But Brian is nothing if not tenacious, and he says he'll do it - "For Hulkamania!" He leaves the scene, and Hogan just stares after him in wonderment.

Mean Gene is backstage, and Colonel Robert Parker comes up to him. Gene asks where everyone else of the Stud Stable are, and Parker says that after the last few weeks, he's done some clean-out on the farm, as he's fired every member of the Stable! Parker says he's gonna do some watching around in the future for some new studs, and he's gonna rebuild the stable from the ground up.

The Butcher vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Duggan starts the match by getting the crowd to chant "HOOOO!" and "USA!" a lot, angering Butcher with his stall tactic while getting a good laugh at it himself. Bobby Heenan wins quip of the night, at one point asking "Et tu, Brutus?" while they talk about how things have gone so backwards over the past few weeks since Bash at the Beach; all the heroes they thought would be for the fans have turned their backs on the WCW faithful, and it took a good man like Jim Duggan to stand up for them. The match is actually fairly slow and plodding, though the crowd enjoy it. After throwing Butcher off of an attempted sleeperhold, Duggan hit a quick three point stance clothesline and covered for a three count.

Winner: Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Back to Mean Gene again, and this time he brings in The Guardian Angel as his guest! He says about how the Angel has been absent since Bash at the Beach, and he wants to know how the Angel is feeling after the match with Vader. The Angel says that as of next week, he should be fine to wrestle again, as Vader had left him pretty bruised. Gene brings up something that was likely an even bigger bruise, that being what happened at the end of the Bash with the men who The Guardian Angel had been close with, Hollywood Hogan, Jimmy Hart, and Mr. T. Gene asks what The Angel's thoughts on the Kings of Wrestling are. The Angel looks annoyed, and Gene asks if maybe that question hit home a little too much? Angel shakes his head, grunts, and walks off without answering.

Tony says that he's heard there's a commotion backstage, and we go back to see Hollywood Hogan and Roddy Piper, and they're beating someone down! It's Jim Duggan! Piper is stomping on him, as Hollywood is punching him. Security finally come to break it up, and as Hogan leaves he yells back that Duggan could've been something, but isn't a king - he's just a common pawn, and he's gonna get taken out of here one way or another!

When we come back from a commercial break, Flyin' Brian is in the ring. The crowd and commentary don't really know what to make of him lately, but he's still got fan support behind him. He has a microphone, and he says that he wants to call out Ron Simmons. Salt-n-Pepa's "Break of Dawn" brings out the All-American star, and he forcibly grabs the microphone from Pillman. He tells him that he don't know what's wrong with him as of late, why he's lost his mind, but obviously he's lost it, because any sane man wouldn't come after Ron Simmons! He tells him to get what he needs to say off his chest, and talk fast, boy. He shoves the microphone back into Brian's chest, and waits. Pillman says that he's always respected Ron - All-American, first black World champion. Brian turns around, and comes back with a sucker punch! He hits Simmons with the microphone, but it just angers him more - Ron shoves Brian back against the ropes, and the two grapple around until Ron shoves Pillman so hard he goes out of the ring! Security come break it up as they look ready to go more, and Pillman laughs, yelling back "I'll see you at the Clash!"

Mean Gene is with "The Dragon" now, and Ricky Steamboat looks intense. Steamboat calmly says that he's glad Steve Austin took him up on this match, because it says something about his character. As much of a coward as he can be sometimes with the sneak attacks, he's a vicious man in the ring - but he's no "Dragon"! Steamboat says that there is a lot Austin has to learn in this sport, and Steamboat is going to give him a lesson tonight in humility, when he takes the United States championship from him. Steamboat ends saying "Win, lose, or draw - after tonight, I'm done with Austin, and I'm coming for the Kings of Wrestling!"

WCW United States championship

Stunning Steve Austin vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

A wonderful TV match, even a little better than their match at the Bash. Steamboat gives all he's got in this self-imposed last match of the feud, and Austin does the same in trying to retain his title. It's a very fast-paced match, with holds, counterholds, and armdrags to be had everywhere. Austin tries to cheat and get the pin with his feet on the ropes, but referee Randy Anderson catches him and breaks it up. Steamboat rallies at the end, hitting a plethora of chops before going up top for a big one. Austin is able to catch the flying "Dragon" though, and he stumbles back into hitting a Stungun on the turnbuckle! Steamboat looks knocked out, and Austin keeps his championship.

Austin takes his title and starts heading up the entranceway. He looks back at the ring to see Steamboat getting to his feet, but he's suddenly taken off of his own, as a rampaging Johnny B. Badd strikes! Badd punches Austin down, and he gets a microphone. He tells him that they still have unfinished business since the end of the last Clash of the Champions, so he wanted to come tell him personally that Johnny went to Commissioner Bockwinkel, and he'll be seeing Austin at the next Clash for the United States title!

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Vader

It's main event time, and these two didn't disappoint. It helped that the massive brawler and the old school tactician gelled in the ring together. Everything Vader threw at Arn, he looked like he was going to kill him with one or two more punches, and all of Arn's desperation tactics involving wearing the beast down started to, in time, take their toll. Anderson used a lot of the Ali rope-a-dope technique, to varying success as Vader is not a normal man when he's raining punches down upon you. Vader looks to hit a powerbomb that would surely be the end of the match, but "Double A" is able to fight it by taking a knee, and he slips a low blow in! Nick Patrick didn't catch it, but Vader certainly did, and Arn surges to his feet. He starts peppering Vader with lefts, and he blasts him with a DDT! But there's no referee!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpg

Roddy Piper has Nick Patrick distracted, and once Arn realizes it he gets to his feet - but he's taken right back off of them when Hollywood Hogan smashes him behind with the World Heavyweight belt! Arn goes down, and Hogan and Piper head up the aisle as Vader gets back to his feet. He drags a limp Arn to the turnbuckle and goes up top, hitting a vicious moonsault and getting the win! The Kings of Wrestling have screwed Arn over for what happened earlier!

Both of them avoid Vader on his way out of the ring, and they look ready to get in there and do some more damage to "The Enforcer". But they're interrupted as Ric Flair emerges through the crowd! He has a chair, and he slides into the ring and stands over his friend, daring the Kings to try something! Flair gets a microphone, and he says that he's had enough - he wants Hogan, and he wants his title back, and he's going to get both of them next week right here on Saturday Night!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Sting.jpg

The sound of cowbell brings the crowd to their feet and out comes Sting! He gets in the ring and has a microphone, and says that it's great to be back - being away for almost a month was like torture! But he says that first things first, he wants to find out who attacked him. Sting says that he's gonna be keeping his eyes and his ears open, and the Stinger will find out who did it and take away far more than a month from them! He says that there's other things going on here in WCW while he was away that he has to address as well. He says how he watched Bash at the Beach, and he saw the last thing he ever thought he would see happen in a wrestling ring - Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper together, telling the fans to stick it. He says he has a lot to say on this matter, but Sting doesn't get a chance to say anything....

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Vader.jpg

The monster from the Rocky Mountains comes back out and interrupts, standing at the top of the aisle with his own microphone. Once his music fades, Vader says that he's not a man to mince any words. He says that he doesn't trust that Sting isn't in on it! He says that he thinks Sting planned the attack in order to get himself out of Hogan's way and lead him right to the World title! Sting is shocked at the outburst, and he immediately denies it, saying that had he been in the building for Bash at the Beach, he would've been the first one out there to take Hogan and Piper out. Vader retorts that talk is cheap, because Sting very conveniently WASN'T there. Sting says that Vader is thinking too hard about this, that he's gotten paranoid now that he doesn't have Harley Race to tell him what to do. Vader says that the only thing he has to do is fight, and Sting agrees with that, saying that he wants to fight as soon as he can. He says he doesn't have medical clearance yet though. Vader, again, points out how convenient that is, but Sting says to let him finish - he doesn't have it yet, but he's gonna go to every doctor he can in the state, in the country, in the world, in order to get cleared to wrestle again, and since he wanted to come out and run his mouth, the first person he wants in the ring is Vader at the Clash! Vader smiles, and says that Sting must have forgotten all those beatings he took at the hands of the monster, but since he needs a refresher, then at the Clash, it's gonna be Vader time! The show ends with Sting and Vader in an intense staredown.

"Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Vader

A tough match to select so we'll call it a draw!

WCW United States championship: Stunning Steve Austin vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

This is always a great match but if you were going to give the title to Steamboat, it probably would have been at the Bash.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. The Butcher

The Butcher, The Baker and The Candlestick Maker all cheat their way to victory.

Booker T vs. Cactus Jack

Both top guys from their teams. I give the edge to Mr. Bang Bang.

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. "Pretty" Paul Roma

Dustin is just better than the former Horseman.

Writer's notes: I think I'm gonna try and do like this, writing shorter matches for Saturday Night, as that way it isn't going to be quite as intensive for the weekly shows.

Good idea. Don't get too bogged down writing the TV shows; don't be afraid to keep those brief.

I just read through all of this over the past several hours. Very, very entertaining read. I was expecting some shenanigans at the end of Hogan/Flair; either a Hogan heel turn (based on the Heenan/Ventura "conspiracy" angle) or Pillman swerving Hogan and aligning himself with Flair in a prelude to a new version of the Horsemen. I never saw Piper coming, though. It was very well done, and has really set the stage for some very interesting story possibilities.

Speaking of Pillman: wow, all these great angles with Hogan must be doing wonders for his popularity! He's someone who I've found particularly interesting so far.

I'm curious; did you have Hogan set as a heel from the start, and turn Ric face before Bash (when he saved Arn, maybe?)

Press 3 for pay-per-view information!

Press 4 for WCW Saturday Night preview!

Press 5 for last week's ratings breakdown!

Press 8 for WWF Monday Night Raw results!

Press 9 for a WCW Catalog gift!

Option 1: Clash of the Champions control center!

A lot has happened this past week, and the Clash of the Champions first foray into pay-per-view is beginning to take shape! Sting and Vader are to do battle once more, as well as Johnny B. Badd getting another shot at Stunning Steve Austin's United States championship! Also, Ron Simmons has accepted Flyin' Brian's match - but has the high flier bitten off more than he can chew? All that, as well as the World Tag Team championship match! Stay tuned both here and on WCW Saturday Night and WCW Main Event for more information!

Option 2: Whereabouts of the Nasty Boys!

As Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan said on Saturday Night, Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs have traveled to the land of the rising sun, as the pact WCW has with New Japan Pro Wrestling has seen them go over as ambassadors to our side of the globe! Knobbs and Sags will be back for the Clash, however, much to Harlem Heat's chagrin.

Option 3: A new area for Clash of the Champions!

WCW have signed on with J-Sports, a pay-per-view broadcaster from Japan, in order to give them access to show the Clash to that side of the world!

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

Once was monumental, but twice will be catastrophic! Ric Flair has challenged Hollywood Hogan to a rematch for the WCW World Heavyweight title, and he isn't waiting! Tune in to see this huge return match!

Sting is going to be a guest on Jesse Ventura's Body Shop, and "The Body" plans to see if Sting has any leads on who he thinks may have attacked him!

Also, a special look at returning WCW veterans the Rock 'n Roll Express! All this and more, at 6:05 PM Eastern only on The Superstation!

Full Saturday Night card

WCW World Heavyweight championship: Hollywood Hogan vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair

WCW World Television championship: Lord Steven Regal w/Sir William vs. Marcus Bagwell

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs. Johnny B. Badd

Kevin Sullivan vs. Vader

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. Harlem Heat

Option 5: Last week's ratings!

Last week's Saturday Night had an amazing rating of 6.40! Also on DSF in Europe, Saturday Night saw a 0.03, which is good for that network. Main Event netted a respectable 0.59. These numbers compared to Raw's 5.84, and we must have what everyone wants to be watching!

Option 8: That Other Wrestling Show!

Slight props to the August week 2 Raw taping for featuring a pretty good women's contest - but only because it featured the former Madusa taking on one of Japan's finest joshi performers, Akira Hokuto. Vince probably won't even pronounce "joshi" right on commentary! But otherwise, Undertaker over Lawler? Diesel and Shawn beating Men on a Mission again? I'm not saying it's a bad show - but just compare to what WCW Saturday Night gives you and it pales in comparison!

Option 9: A Gift from the WCW Catalog!

Write down the number given at the end of this message along with your name and address to get 10% off of an Official San Francisco Toymakers WCW action figure!

Prediction Results thus far:

BHK1978: 3/5

Gentleman Raven: 3/5

RKOwnage: 2/5

Thanks for reading! Always nice seeing people comment who's own diaries I am so much enjoying, enjoying mine!

Unfortunately, Brian's overness hasn't reflected the segments as much I've wanted it to. He's definitely one of my over wrestlers, but he's still pretty firmly rooted in the upper midcard. I think it's perhaps his fun babyface gimmick keeping him held back, because its only a 66 rating, along with how little he's actually been in the ring.

Nope, I still had Flair as a heel during the whole month. I set up Hogan, Hart, and Mr. T to turn heel about two weeks before the Bash and just let their turns simmer until the Bash itself - I absolutely LOVE the "set to turn" button in 13, it makes my subtle slow burns feel so realistic! Though I was hoping that the segment with Heenan and Flair attacking Hogan would have turned everyone to think the "conspiracy" was just a plot between them ;) I turned T and Hart during the match at BatB itself, and Hogan during the promo with Piper afterward. I turned Flair face the next SN when he saved Duggan. The only thing that was a bit unfortunate was that since I'd signed Piper, Hogan went into the match with low morale - hence why I was going to sign Beefcake at some point, it forced my hand to do so sooner rather than later so that I could boost his morale back up.

I still have a lot more heel and face turns to come, because I'm still not done moving pieces around my board of human chess haha. Some of them I'm sure will make for huge shocks, while some of them have already started to be hinted at during the next show.

Always liked Sullivan but Vader's gotta be booked like a monster

WCW Television - August 1994, Week 3

WCW Saturday Night

Announcers: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, Dusty Rhodes

Held at: Portland Memorial Coliseum (North West)

Attendance: 10,000 (sold out)

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ArnAnderson.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpg

The show opens with footage that says "Fancam from Earlier Today". The announcers aren't talking as of this point, we just watch this footage from the parking lot. There's a huge ruckus, and the camera zooms in to see that it's a fight going on between Roddy Piper and Arn Anderson! Boxes are thrown, punches are landed on one another, and they upturn a table when Piper tackles Anderson over it! "The Enforcer" lands a particularly good left hand, when Hollywood Hogan comes on the scene and hits Arn, shoving him forcefully into the side of a car, and he and Piper make their escape.

After some opening notes and commentary making their standard small talk about the upcoming show and what we just watched, we go backstage where Flyin' Brian is being talked to by Sting! The Stinger is telling Brian that he's been watching WCW with interest while he was away, and he's not liked what he's seen from Pillman. He says that Brian shouldn't be bowing to Hogan, because he's turned evil on everyone, and Sting doesn't want to see Brian getting hurt when Hollywood finally cuts him loose. The talk is interrupted when Ron Simmons steps in, and Brian runs behind Sting. Simmons says that Sting shouldn't be wasting his breath on a dead man, to which Sting tries to appeal to Simmons's humanity. He says that Brian hasn't been himself, he doesn't know what he's doing, he's only prodding at Ron because he thinks it will be good to his relationship with Hogan. Ron says that he appreciates Sting, almost even respects him - but if he gets in his way one more time in this, it'll be his head on the silver platter right next to Brian's!

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff w/Jimmy Hart vs. Johnny B. Badd

Our opening contest is between two men looking to gain some more traction in their careers at this moment. Paul Orndorff is looking to bolster himself as a member of the Kings of Wrestling, while Johnny B. Badd is trying to get some gold around his waist. The two have a back-and-forth contest, until Badd moves out of the way of Orndorff's diving elbow drop, and when "Mr. Wonderful" turns around he gets blasted with the Diss that Don't Miss! He goes for a cover, but Jimmy Hart has referee Brady Boone distracted; Badd gets up to complain, but he's dropped with a Diamond Cutter! Diamond Dallas Page was in and out of the ring almost quicker than anybody could see! Orndorff recovers and one jumping Wonderful Piledriver later, this one's over.

Winner: "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

Rating: C+

As Orndorff and Hart leave, Badd gets up and shakes his head. He pounds on the mat, and rolls out of the ring. He starts heading toward the back, slapping hands with a few hands, when one of them hops the guardrail behind him - he rips off his sweatshirt and it's Stunning Steve Austin! He rushes on Badd and smashes his United States title off the back of Johnny's head! Badd drops, and Austin backs away, laughing.

After a quick break, Jesse "The Body" Ventura is in the ring. He says that after the hit success "The Body Shop" with Bobby Heenan was last month, WCW have offered him a spot on any Saturday Night that he wants in order to come out and ask the hard hitting, straight from the gut, brutal questions that nobody else has the gall to ask! And with that, he brings out The Man They Call Sting! Sting comes out and Jesse immediately grills him about how it's been a month since he found Sting laid out in the parking lot, and he wants to know if Sting has any leads on who attacked him. Sting says that at first, he thought it was Ric Flair. But he's talked to Flair, and he knows that he and Flair have a common respect - they may not like one another, but they're always upfront, "The Nature Boy" wouldn't have attacked him from behind like that. Sting also mentions Vader, given that "The Monster" has taken such an interest since Sting returned. Sting starts turning the finger toward the Kings of Wrestling, but that's when he gets assaulted!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Vader.jpg

Vader claps Sting in the face, who didn't have time to react out of his peripheral vision. Ventura gets out of the way, yelling that he's gonna lose his show if people keep getting attacked on it! Sting tries to fight back, but "The Monster" is too much for him, and Vader ends up hitting a big pump splash on Sting! Vader leaves it at that, grunting out "Who's the man?!" and he walks off, as trainers come out to check on Sting.

Backstage, and Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan are talking. Jack says that he doesn't know what got into Kevin last week, antagonising Harlem Heat. Cactus says that they're the World Tag Team champions, which means they need to be fighting champions after they've beaten the Nasty Boys. Sullivan says that he doesn't care about Harlem Heat - he wants to beat the Nasty Boys badly for what they did to Dave and the way they've been acting toward the champs since then. Kevin tells Jack that he's the brains of this operation, Cactus just needs to hold up his end and they'll be alright. Sullivan walks off, with Jack looking perplexed.

Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel is in the ring, and he says he needs to talk to someone. He calls out Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who comes to the ring amid patriotic music. Bockwinkel starts talking, saying that "Mr. Duggan" has to comply with a request whether he likes it or not; Nick says that Hollywood Hogan was not happy about last week, and he would ONLY accept the match tonight against Ric Flair if Duggan was not allowed in the building! Duggan says that he had no interest in interfering with Flair's rematch, but Bockwinkel shrugs and says that while he believes Hacksaw, Hogan was persistant that Duggan could not be in the arena tonight. Duggan is upset, and he hits Bockwinkel before walking away!

Regal is in charge for the majority of this match, with Bagwell mostly just fighting from underneath. He refuses to let Regal defeat him no matter what he tries. Bagwell rallies, making it a fast-paced match as Regal is getting tired. He goes up top and goes for a diving clothesline, going for a pin - but the time limit expires!

Lord Steven Regal comes backstage and is with Gordon Solie. Solie asks Regal if Marcus Bagwell will be getting a rematch, to which Regal says if he has a choice in the matter, never - Bagwell is just another lowly, American peasant who is not worth sharing the mat with a royal like himself! Regal says that he doesn't care who takes offense to his words, because it's all true. And that's when The Patriot comes by! He tells Regal that he needs to watch his mouth, because he's in America, and they aren't going to tolerate him talking like that about his country without a fight! Patriot challenges Regal officially to a match at the Clash of the Champions for the Television championship! Regal laughs at the challenge, saying that if Patriot wants to show how sad and pathetic he is compared to the might of his Lordship, then he's on.

Harlem Heat vs. "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes & "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson

A solid tag team match between four talented brawlers. Booker and Dustin begin the match with both men trying to wrestle, but it quickly descends into madness as both sides use cheap tactics on one another throughout the whole match. Commentary talk about how Rhodes has very clearly been training with Arn, and now probably with Ric Flair as well. But no amount of rule breaking can outdo an unwelcome distraction - Evad Sullivan marches down to ringside and, while Booker T is outside, he grabs him and starts talking to him, parroting big brother in saying that the Heat need to wait in line! Stevie Ray turns his attention to ringside for just a moment, and it's enough for Dustin to come in with a running bulldog for the three count.

Winners: Arn Anderson & Dustin Rhodes

Vader vs. Kevin Sullivan with Dave Sullivan

Vader is pretty pleased with himself after earlier tonight, and he begins this match having some "fun" - he offers Sullivan a free shot before the bell. Kevin is no dummy though; he winds up, but instead of a punch on the monster, he kicks him low! The bell sounds, and Sullivan gets on Vader and starts peppering him with punches to the face. Referee Randy Anderson tries to break it up, but Kevin simply goes to a headlock. He tries to "ride" Vader, using his amatuer background, but when Vader gets to his feet, it's a straight up brawl. Sullivan takes an amazing amount of punishment, and using every trick he has in his long arsenal, he gives it back just as harshly. The former "Gamesmaster" goes up for his famed double stomp, but a commotion catches his focus - it's Harlem Heat! Stevie and Booker are livid; telling Sullivan that he needs to keep his brother on a leash, that they'll put him out permanent if Dave doesn't stop running his mouth, that kind of thing. Kevin's eye is off the ball, and Vader is up to crotch him on the top rope. Vader lifts Sullivan directly off the turnbuckle and spins, driving him down with a power bomb! The three count is academic, and it's Harlem Heat's fault, just as it was Dave Sullivan's fault they lost their match!

Winner: Vader

Sullivan chases after Harlem Heat, and Vader remains in the ring to pose and flex after his win. It's been a good night to be Vader - winning matches, and earlier he took out Sting.

OR DID HE?!?

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Sting.jpg

Here comes the Stinger out of the crowd, and this time he's prepared! Bobby says that he thought Sting would have been taken out of here after Vader's earlier assault, but this time it's Sting taking it to Vader. He shoves him into the corner - Stinger Splash! Sting throws Vader to the mat and goes to the second rope, hitting another Stinger Splash on him! He then twists him into the Scorpion Deathlock! It's not a match, so Sting can punish "The Monster" all he wants! Officials finally come out and pull Sting out of the hold, and he howls in joy to all his "Little Stingers" as Vader rolls out of the ring holding his back.

We head backstage to Mean Gene, who has a special guest - the man who in just a few short moments will be getting his return match for the World Heavyweight championship, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Flair is pacing as Gene asks him for his thoughts on this moment. Flair screams to him that he's been waiting for this night for three weeks, ever since Bash at the Beach. He knew that Hogan was no good, but nobody wanted to believe him; and look where we stand now. He says that now, it's time he goes out there and becomes the sixteen-time World champion!

WCW World Heavyweight championship

Hollywood Hogan vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair

What a difference fans saw in this match compared to the one from Bash at the Beach. Whereas Flair used a lot more tactic to keep Hogan down and get him to submit there, this time he stayed on the attack with punches and chops aplenty, while Hogan was the one using the cheap tactics - holding the ropes, choking, backrakes, and at one point a low blow while Flair was looking to cinch on the figure four. It all came to a head when one man had seen enough.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/GuardianAngel.jpg

The Guardian Angel came marching down to the ring while referee Nick Patrick was down (common theme among matches with these two?) and he enters the ring. The Angel shoves Hogan back to the ropes. And then clotheslines Flair! He and Hogan lift Flair off the mat and send him to the ropes - side slam! Hogan hits the legdrop for good measure, and The Angel wakes up Patrick. Heenan crows "NO NO NOT AGAIN!" as the hand comes down for three.

Winner and STILL WCW World champion: Hollywood Hogan

Roddy Piper comes dancing out from the back as The Angel goes out of the ring to jaw with fans. Hogan holds his championship high, soaking in all the jeers. He gets a microphone and says "Roddy! Roddy, let's show this piece of crap why you don't come back for seconds... K-o-W style!" Piper smiles, and he goes under the ring for a chair! Hogan pushes Flair's head over to the turnbuckle, and they are gonna crush him between the chair and the turnbuckle! Piper winds up, preparing to deliver the death blow...

When Dustin Rhodes grabs the chair out of his hands! He bashes Piper with a bionic elbow, and Hogan in the ring is getting peppered with some solid Anderson left hands! Just as Ric Flair came to their aid before the Bash, now Arn and Dustin have both come to Flair's aid! Arn and Dustin help Flair to his feet after having run Hogan and Piper off, but Hogan lifting the title above his head says that they may have won a battle, but they still have a long way to go in this war.

Option 1: Clash of the Champions control center!

Last week to the card we saw added a huge match that we all know is always a brutal display, Vader taking on The Man Called Sting! Also, "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes wants answers from Meng! Also, we've heard through the grapevine that Hollywood Hogan has taken on a challenge from Hacksaw Jim Duggan! And on top of that, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson "ride again" as they have laid out a challenge to any two members of the Kings of Wrestling for a tag team match!

Option 2: A message from Kings of Wrestling spokesman, Jimmy Hart!

"Baby, you got no idea what's happening to you, WCW! The K.o.W. have spoken baby, and we have even more huge names to add to the list! Hahahahaha! So we have the World champ Hollywood Hogan, Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff, The big bad Butcher, and last week you saw how we added OUR Guardian Angel? Choke on that, Flair! Hahahahaha! And we've been adding more associates to our fold, baby - when they get here for the Clash, I'm gonna be accompanying the next World Tag Team champions, the Nasty Boys! Hahahahaha! But even more than that, Hollywood is looking forward to two HUGE announcements that he's gonna make at the Clash! He's gonna talk more about them on Saturday Night, so tune in and find out how the Kings of Wrestling are gonna shock you next!

Option 3: Two new areas by Clash of the Champions!

WCW have signed on with both Visasat and Seleccion Mexico, pay-per-view providers in Europe and Mexico! WCW continues to branch out into new areas!

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

Sting has done it! He's gotten himself cleared to wrestle before Clash of the Champions, which means as long as he makes it through Saturday Night, his match with Vader will be a go. But Sting has offered up partnering with Flyin' Brian to take on their upcoming opponents, Vader and Ron Simmons! Hollywood Hogan has said that he's going to call out Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and the first time in years that WCW has seen the Rock 'n Roll Express! Plus, Ric Flair is bound to have something to say about what happened last week! All this and more, at 6:05 PM Eastern only on The Superstation!

Option 5: Last week's ratings!

WCW Saturday Night drew in a 6.45 rating on TBS! And a 0.61 for Main Event. Both of these were up from the prior week. Raw was up... to a measly 5.89.

Option 8: That Other Wrestling Show!

The August week 3 Raw taping was headlined by big two, slow behemoths punching and kicking each other. Really, Mean Mark and Bam Bam, wouldn't you guys be much happier to come back to WCW, where you can show the whole world what you can really do?

Option 9: A Gift from the WCW Catalog!

Send a postcard with your name, address, and size with the number given after the tone for 30% off an officially licensed Sting t-shirt!

Prediction Standings

BHK1978: 7/9

NWAvsWWF: 6/9

RKOwnage: 5/9

Gentleman Raven: 3/5

The Final Countdown: 2/4

As you can possibly see, given the time limit draw I handed out, I didn't count the Regal/Bagwell match (tbh, I nearly just gave it to Regal, but I thought story-wise it worked better this way). Please keep the predictions and comments coming, I take everything into account!

Great show. I like what your doing the Kings of Wrestling angle got me hooked. Waiting on to see when you bring the Four Horsemen back because when WCW felt threatened the Horsemen would come back. An who will be third and fourth members I have guess on the third, but the fourth one is a mystery unless you bring back a 6'7" blonde haired wrestler who has ties to Flair, Anderson, and Rhodes.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

-I cant see Flair losing two weeks in a row,

Vader and Ron Simmons vs. Sting and Flyin' Brian

-Given Pillman's recent behavior, I can't see he and Sting working together well enough to take down the likes of Vader and Simmons.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Brian Armstrong

Non-Title: Stunning Steve Austin vs. Terry Taylor

-Even if it is non-title, I just don't see a logical reason for Austin to lose to the Rooster.

-Nope, sorry Skinner, not gonna happen.

Really enjoying what you're doing overall with this. I caught up on all of it since last night. The Hogan/Piper swerve at Bash at the Beach was fantastic and really unpredicted. When I read Piper showed up, I fully expected him to blast Hogan and align with Flair. Nice to see you went your own creative way, it really changes how things will go.

Not too excited to see Dustin Rhodes getting involved in the main event, but I can let that go. My predictions;

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

- Flair needs the momentum. He won't lose, but you'll do something to keep Orndorff's momentum up.

Vader and Ron Simmons vs. Sting and Flyin' Brian

- I see a draw or DQ or countout finish on this. You'll need to keep everyone strong.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Brian Armstrong

- Duggan wins. It'd be funny and interesting for a heel turn from him and joining K.o.W.

Non-Title: Stunning Steve Austin vs. Terry Taylor

- Non title, but Austin still wins.

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright vs. Steve Keirn

- Wright wins to build him up.

Johnny B. Badd vs. Bunkhouse Buck

- Badd gets the win.

I never really cared for Pillman, so the fact that he is paired up with one of my favorites sucks because that means I have to pick Sting to lose as well.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Brian Armstrong

Non-Title: Stunning Steve Austin vs. Terry Taylor

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright vs. Steve Keirn

You don't know how much I hate to make this pick...:D

I was never a fan of either one of these guys but Johnny has more star power.

Non-Title: Stunning Steve Austin vs. Terry Taylor

A solid little match that could have been better, but wasn't bad as a warmup for the crowd. Austin is in control of most of the match, but Taylor keeps fighting back now and again to keep up hope. Taylor even gets a chance to hit his running "Fivearm" smash, but Austin is too close to the ropes for the pin. Terry tries to hit it again, but Austin ducks down and grabs him, hitting a Stungun for the three.

Winner: Stunning Steve Austin

Hollywood Hogan and Roddy Piper walk out to the ring along with The Guardian Angel. Hogan talks about how after last week, Ric Flair blew his chance, so now he has to get in the back of the line, jack! And so can the rest of WCW; Hogan says that by his rights as a champion, he knows that WCW's Clash of the Champions is supposed to have every title on the line, but since he just defended it last week, he doesn't have to defend it at the Clash! The fans boo loudly as commentary decry this announcement. Piper says Hogan will be out to talk more later about the Clash, but right now, they have business to attend. They both shake hands with Guardian Angel, and Piper calls him "the KoW's guardian angel". Hogan calls him "The Guardian Angel" Bubba Rogers, and Tony says that The Angel is a disgrace to his training by the real Guardian Angels group, as we go backstage.

Mean Gene is backstage alongside Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and Dustin Rhodes. Flair says that after last week, they're all going to be watching one another's backs even more than before. Anderson says that the KoW keep getting stronger, but there's only one excellence in wrestling - he lifts up his fist and looks like he's ready to hold up four fingers, but he drops his hand saying "I don't know if we're ready for that yet, though." He says that in this battle against the Kings, there are bound to be casualties, but they're planning to rally the army that will take the battle to them. Rhodes chimes in that while he's got his hands busy with this business of Meng, he's got Flair and Anderson's back one hundred percent. Flair says that if Hogan wants to deny him a fair shot, then he has already gone over his head, to Commissioner Bockwinkel! Gene asks what that means, and Flair answers that he has set up a tag team match for Clash of the Champions. Flair and Anderson ride again, and Hogan can pick out any two KoW members to face them. If they lose, then yes, Flair goes "to the back of the line". But if they win, then Flair gets a match against Hogan at Fall Brawl - inside a steel cage!

Johnny B. Badd is backstage getting ready for his match, when he's approached by a familiar face. Teddy Long tells him that he's been watching Badd for a long time, and he says he's always considered him a friend. Long says that as his friend, he thinks Johnny needs some help, or he's not going to get that gold that he wants. Long offers to be Badd's manager, and Johnny thinks about it for a second before saying alright. They shake hands, and they head out for Badd's match.

Johnny B. Badd w/Teddy Long vs. Bunkhouse Buck

Buck has been in a bit of a tailspin since the end of his tenure in the Stud Stable, and this match with an envigorated Badd didn't help much. Johnny wrestled and brawled rings around him with Long cheering him on, and planted him with the Diss That Don't Miss for the fairly easy three count.

Mean Gene is back by the monitors, and Stunning Steve Austin is there, having just watched Badd's match. Gene asks him what he thinks about Long now being in Badd's corner, if that worries him for their upcoming match. Austin tells him that he ain't worried about anything; Badd can line up all the managers he wants, but he still won't take the United States belt from Stunning Steve Austin!

We go to Hollywood Hogan and Roddy Piper now, and the two are talking about later tonight. Hogan says he has something to take care of soon, so after he talks about their plans for the Clash, he's gonna leave the arena and it's gonna be in Piper's hands. Roddy says sarcastically "I think I can handle that" before laughing with Hogan. Hollywood already dropped one bombshell tonight, that he won't defend his title at the Clash; what else could he have in store?

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright vs. Steve Keirn

Another veteran thrown at the youngster, and Alex's surprisingly long reach and his dual arial and technical prowess put him ahead of Keirn, who never really finds himself into a good spot to finish the match despite having the lead in parts of it. Wright uses a combination missile dropkick followed by a German suplex to get the win.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpg

"Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" brings Hollywood Hogan back out to the ring, and he looks to have some things on his mind. He starts out by saying that he laughs at WCW's ineptitude of how they wanted to force him to defend his title twice this month, but his rights as champion state that he doesn't have to, so he played them like a fiddle - again! He goes on more though, saying that he heard through the grapevine that Nicky Bockwinkel wants to make some sort of big announcement at the Clash, but Hollywood says that no matter what Nicky has to say, the KoW are going to make sure that what people remember the most is that the night is all about them! He says that the KoW are forming a plan that will shock WCW to it's core, and you'll have to order the Clash to find out what's going to happen. He also mentions that he's leaving the arena to go find himself "a queen" because every King needs a lovely Queen! He takes a quick moment to laugh at Flair's challenge, because any two members of the KoW should be able to defeat him - but they won't say who it will be until the match itself!

Hogan then starts to talk about Jim Duggan, who he has agreed to face at the Clash of the Champions, albeit non-title. He says that Duggan could have been a made man if he'd just joined with them when he had a chance, but he had to throw it away, and now the wrath of Hollywood is what he's got coming. He says there is no more red, white, and blue, only black and white, brother, and after that you have the green. He calls Duggan a relic of the 80s who can't grow up, and that brings out Hacksaw himself!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/JimDuggan.jpg

Duggan tells Hogan that he too used to carry this flag, and that's what made him able to call himself a King of Wrestling. He says that he turned down the KoW because he doesn't believe in their idea of keeping their top spot by any means necessary, because in wrestling you have to give back to the youngsters or else the entire sport will collapse. He says he was back there just earlier today helping out youngsters like Alex Wright and Stars 'n Stripes. Duggan says that Hogan isn't a visionary, he's a coward, and at the Clash of the Champions, he's gonna show that Hogan's new "black and white" ideals are really just yellow, tough guy! HOOOOOOOOO! Hogan is left steaming in the ring, as Duggan celebrates by slapping hands with some fans. He aims at Hogan with his 2x4 and fires at him, as we go to break.

Jesse Ventura is backstage alongside Sting and Flyin' Brian, who team up tonight to take on their Clash of the Champions foes Ron Simmons and Vader. Sting says that Brian has long been one of his best friends, even if they haven't always seen eye to eye. He says he's glad to take Brian under his wing until he gets his head straight on this Hogan thing, and Brian says that he's going to give it his all tonight for Sting's behalf, since they've always been such good friends, but that Sting has to realize that Brian wants to be near his childhood hero. They don't seem too eye to eye right now, but they're on the same page tonight at least, and Jesse sends us back out to the ring.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Brian Armstrong

The veteran and his much less experienced opponent are both trying to get more traction in WCW, but only one of them can do it. Brian has the lead for a little while by using a few dirty tactics, but with the fans behind him, Duggan rallies back amid loud "USA" chants and hits a three point stance clothesline followed by the Old Glory Kneedrop for the win.

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes comes out to the ring and calls out his Clash opponent, Meng. He says that all Meng has to do is tell him why he attacked Colonel Parker in their match, and he'll not only call off their match at the Clash, but he'll leave Meng alone completely. Meng makes his way out to the ring, and he looks Dustin up one side and down the other. He goes outside and under the ring to find a thick board, which he breaks over his head. He stares at Rhodes, looking for him to back down, but Dustin doesn't back down an inch. Meng then leaves the ring without a word, leaving Dustin to say that he doesn't care how many boards Meng can break, the match will still go on until he gets his answers!

Before we go to commercial, Colonel Parker is backstage with Gordon Solie. When we come back, Lord Steven Regal and Sir William are in the ring. Regal is talking about how much better he is than The Patriot simply by nature of being royalty from England as opposed to some ugly American who can't even show his face in his own country. Regal says that retaining his Television championship is merely a formality, and that brings out The Patriot!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ThePatriot.jpg

He comes out and says that he wears this mask ONLY to show his patriotism, and that Lord Regal needs to shut his mouth before it gets shut for him. Sir William tries to attack Patriot with his umbrella, but Patriot senses it coming and grabs the umbrella, as Regal slips out of the ring. Unfortunately for Sir William, he isn't so lucky as to escape, as Patriot grabs him and hits him with the Uncle Slam as the fans cheer "USA! USA!"

Harlem Heat come out to the ring, and they talk about how they've been getting overlooked here in WCW. Booker T says that "dem cracka Tag champs" keep ducking them after the Heat got a non-title win over Jack and Sullivan, yet the Sullivans keep harassing them nonstop. The Heat claim that if Kevin and Evad want them so bad, they need to put the titles on the line so that the Heat can wear the gold they so rightly deserve as the best tag team in WCW! Stevie says "If 'dem fruit booties cain't take tha' Heat, dey need ta' step outta our kitchen!"

The Rock 'n Roll Express! Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson rush out and hit the ring, and after a brief staredown all four men are throwing punches! Booker and Morton back into one corner as Stevie and Gibson are in the other, and Harlem Heat take over for a moment. They try to irish whip the RNRs toward one another, but they run past one another and hit stereo dropkicks to the Heat! Booker and Stevie get back up and stand together, and another set of stereo dropkicks send them tumbling out of the ring! The veterans stand tall, as Morton gets their microphone. He says that Rock 'n Roll is here to stay! The crowd cheer, especially when Ricky says that they're back in WCW to show that they still have what it takes, and it looks like they just found their first opponents. He throws out the challenge - Rock 'n Roll Express against Harlem Heat, at the Clash of the Champions! Booker and Stevie accept as they head up the ramp, and the RNRs celebrate in the ring as "Old Time Rock and Roll" plays over the arena.

Vader and Ron Simmons vs. Sting and Flyin' Brian

After a quick commercial break, these two teams look to rip one another's heads off! Sting and Brian hammer away with a flurry of fast offense, but Simmons and Vader eventually target Sting, who has just returned to the ring. Sting takes a lot of punishment in the big bulls' corner, and Pillman tries to keep the "Little Stingers" in the match. Sting finally gets an opening when he falls out of the way when Vader tries his running body block and it hits Simmons instead! Sting makes the hot tag, and Brian comes in with dropkicks and crossbodys for both of the large foes. Flyin' Brian ducks a big shoulder tackle from Simmons, and he ends up falling through the ropes out of the ring! Brian and Sting start double teaming Vader, but the match ends abruptly when an embarrassed Simmons comes in with a chair and hammers Sting in the back with it! Randy Anderson has no other option but to call for the bell, and security come pouring out to get in between everyone.

Roddy Piper is assaulting "The Enforcer" and he isn't letting up! Piper has a pipe that he brings down over Arn's ribs repeatedly, until Anderson doesn't seem to be moving. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff w/Jimmy Hart

A very good old school technical affair went on in our main event tonight, as two men who know how to hold the crowd in the palm of their hand plied their trade. Orndorff kept trying to work over Flair's neck and back, while Flair kept working on Orndorff's knees. Commentary talk about how even though Orndorff has kind of meandered along in WCW the past few months, a showing like this shows why he not only is still "Mr. Wonderful" but also why he was taken into the Kings of Wrestling. His mission becomes more and more clear as the match progressing, as Hart keeps talking over his megaphone to "Hurt him Wonderful, hurt him bad!" He nearly gets the piledriver, but his knee buckles when he lifts Flair, making him drop him - Flair uses the distraught Orndorff's bad wheel against him, tripping him and rolling on top of Orndorff with a jackknife pin to get the harder-than-would-seem win.

After the match is over, Roddy Piper storms the ring with "Guardian Angel" Bubba Rogers in tow. Flair is prepared though, and he heads out of the ring to get a chair! He stands at the ready, even as Orndorff hobbles back to his feet. Orndorff and Rogers rush Flair, but he hits both away with his weapon, before lunging for Piper! Roddy is slick though, and he slips away without a scratch. The KoW regroup at the top of the entrance ramp, as Ric Flair looks pleased with himself - however after the attack on Anderson, will he be so pleased after the Clash of the Champions?
