"Sick" Nick Mondo

I just watched his documentary and I highly reccommend it if you like the backyard/CZW/BJW scene. This guy is nuts.

^ that is the documentary.

Did anyone else like this guy? I think it's a shame he didn't have time to get to WWE or TNA, this guy was a natural. He was pretty all rounded and I wish he would have been able to save his career by getting away from the ultraviolent side of the sport. Anyone else a fan of his? If not, you will be after watching this!

Why did he retire again?

injuries from working in CZW. they had him jumping off buildings. If you skip to the end of the documentary about 10 minutes before I believe he goes into the main spot.

John Zandig, the owner of CZW, had a habit of putting himself in some of the most dangerous spots available, Nick was basically a go-to guy. Zandig jumps off of a warehouse attempting to land on a table and misses. Mondo lands straight on the cement from a 2-story drop.

I liked the guy when I was younger, but as I got older my interest in hardcore wrestling fell off quickly, as did my interest in a lot of the hardcore type guys. I guess he was alright, but I doubt he would have had much of an impact outside of stunt wrestling.

he always reminds me of RVD and compared to a lot of the guys he was working with in CZW, he was more than just a spot monkey, but of course since that mainly what he had to do, he will be typecast that way, which is fair.

I just think there could have been something, but we will never know. Which sucks about alot of the deathmatch guys, some (granted its pretty rare) have some actual talent, but they destroy their bodies to the point they must retire at a super young age (Wifebeater, Mondo, Thumbtack Jack) or some even die/kill themselves (JC Bailey Brain Damage) or get addicted to painkillers and do stupid things (Nick Gage) or die (JC Bailey, Trent Acid)

I always thought he was pretty talented.

Though, I do love a lot of people that came from CZW, just not their product for the most part.

Speaking of garbage wrestlers that we hoped had gotten a bigger break, I've always thought Kid Kaos from XPW could have been a huge star outside of XPW. The dude had a great look, natural charisma, and was above average in the ring.

Sadly, the only image of him I ever have in my head anymore is his back from his match with Vampiro at Cold Day in Hell...

Also, The Messiah was awesome.

Him and Ian Rotten should have a contest to see who's worse. Seems like it'd be pretty close
