(Well I think it is reasonable at this point to assume we aren't getting any predictions :p I am thinking about scrapping the prediction contest so I can recoup some momentum, but I am at least giving out the prize for this round. We'll see.)

XWF Breakin' Out

Fri 4, Jan. 2013

Colon was sternly warned for missing a meeting with a road agent. Duncum Jr. was sternly warned for a tasteless prank.

Pre-show: Angle/Wright d. Jack/Duncum Jr. (53, Jack/Duncum terrible chem); Snuka Jr. d. Foley (62)

-Match: Mr. Anderson v. Paul Levesque

Mortis comes out to ringside to observe a solid opening bout. It clearly bothers Levesque, but that seems to only fuel his rage, and he's able to get a solid win.

Rating: 64

-Mortis walks back up the ramp without saying anything, but BG James cuts him off! Mortis finds himself in a dangerous position between his two enemies, but Perry Saturn comes out to make the save and run off Purity of Purpose.

Rating: 51

-Tag Titles: Future Vision © v. Davey Richards and Roderick Strong

Future Vision are unimpressed by their scrawny challengers, but they get a bit too cocky here. D-Train and Dustin are able to quickly recover and retain with a 2-D, but the challengers have made an impressive debut for apparent jobbers.

Rating: 45

Strong's lack of gimmick gets 71

-Nash still wants to beat up Orton, in case you were wondering.

Rating: 60

-Match: Perry Power v. Ted Dibiase Jr.

Much like all the other new jobbers showing up recently, Dibiase Jr. holds up decently well in his singles debut, but ultimately falls to the Galaxy Warhead.

Rating: 60

-Jericho is out to the ring to issue another open challenge! This time, he's putting a chance at his shiny gold belt in the hands of YOU, the fans! He finds somebody in a wide-brim hat and jacket, who's looking down at his feet, and calls him into the ring! He asks “Junior” his name, and his name is George. When asked if he's ever been this close to a championship belt before, George replies that he has! Jericho seems surprised, but not as much as when “George” ditches the hat and coat to reveal that he's....former Welterweight Champion of the World GEORGES ST-PIERRE! Jericho looks terrified, but the match is on!

Rating: 52

GSP's Legitimate Athlete gimmick gets an initial 82

-#1 Contender Title: Chris Jericho © v. Georges St-Pierre

Jericho is completely unprepared for an opponent of this caliber, and St-Pierre kicks the snot out of him for a few minutes while Jericho pleads for a timeout. When the ref doesn't give him one, he escapes to ringside and runs away! St-Pierre is left in the ring, and he takes the belt and poses with it as Jericho crawls up the ramp.

Rating: 64

-Orton jumps Nash backstage! Nash has a match after this commercial oh no!

Rating: 44

-Match: Kevin Nash v. The Prototype

This might be an interesting match under ideal circumstances, but with Nash still reeling from the cheapshot a few minutes prior, Prototype gets a surprisingly easy win.

Rating: 60

-James Maritato is in the ring to announce a new tag team! He brings in his good friend RENE DUPREE, and announces that the European Union will be taking over the world! Dupree takes the mic and gives a rant in French that we can only assume is smugly condescending.

Rating: 51

Dupree's Obnoxious gimmick gets an initial 78

-Match: Bagwell and Scorpio v. European Union

Dupree is more than capable of pulling his weight in the ring, and the new team is able to wear down the aging vets.

Rating: 64

-Match: The Miz v. BG James

BG James is able to gain a measure of revenge for his team's loss last week, with a competitive but decisive victory over Miz.

Rating: 69

-BG James calls out Mortis and wonders if he's man enough to face him one on one? Mortis answers the call....but is jumped on the entry ramp by Levesque! They got him again!

Rating: 56

-Match: Eddie Colon v. Randy Orton

Colon's good, but Orton is just plain better. A focused Orton sends a clear message to Nash by picking apart his protege.

Rating: 57

Awful chem

-Nikita and Kraven both think they should take Ariel's belt. They argue for a while and then Ariel shows up to claim she can take both of 'em.

Rating: 33

….did I really forget to move that up the card well crap

Post-show: Gibson d. Vampire (37, good chem); Ariel/Torrie d. Gail/Kuragaki, Nikita/Lavoie, Kraven/Mickie (30)

Overall: 59

Lost pop in 10 regions

XWF falls to Cult

WORKER BIOS

Steve Austin

Austin never made the jump to WWF, but hit it big regardless in WCW as Stunning Steve. Austin finally won the big one when he beat Honky Tonk Man in 1997 on Saturday Night for the World Title, and he went on to enjoy a nine month reign before dropping the belt to Sting at Superbrawl VIII. Austin was almost a personal jobber for Sting, but the two of them put on the best match in WCW history on a random episode of Saturday Night in 2000. A herniated spinal disc put Austin out of commission for a year, but upon his return he quickly picked up his third and fourth TV Title reigns, and held the belt when WCW went out of business. After almost a year of inactivity, he showed up in Heartland Wrestling Association, where he is currently enjoying his second reign as their Global champion. Time has not been kind to the 48-year old, but even though he's inconsistent and sluggish, he can still get the crowd going quite well.

Top Match: Vs. Sting on WCW Saturday Night in 2000, 95

Title History: WCW World, WCW TVx4, WCW US, WCW Tag, HWA Globalx2, Young Wrestler of the Year 1990, Tag Team of the Year 1993

Top Power 500 Rank: #36 in 2000

Currently: #377

CM Punk

Punk has been all over Japan and the indy scene, mostly working tours and never staying long in one place. He is decently popular in Japan, but not quite as big in the States- nevertheless, his workrate has made up for his lack of overness. Most of his best work is, unsurprisingly, in the Japanese superfed NJPW, where he has been able to work with people like Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit despite his weak push.

Top Match: Vs. Wild Pegasus at NJPW Be a Player! In 2010, 92

Title History: IWGP Jr. Heavyweight, ZERO-ONE World, HUSTLE World, WCPW Wrestling Spirit, IWA World, HCW National Tag Team

Top Rank: #27 in 2010

Currently: #132

John Cena

He has spent his entire career working as The Prototype. He floated around the indies before settling in Smokey Mountain Wrestling in 2007. He received a decent push there, but the company closed its doors in 2011. A few months later, he arrived in XWF, and has done decently well as an upper midcarder. I am determined to make him a cornerstone of the company as we enter this rebuilding phase- he has a great attitude, he's decently over and highly charismatic, and he's not too old and decrepit to work. It pains me to take a universe where Cena ISN'T The Man and proceed to make him The Man anyway, but he is exactly what we need right now.

Top Match: Vs. Mr. Anderson

Title History: USWA Heavyweight, UPW Heavyweight, PWG National, ECWA Mid Atlantic and Tag Team, MEWF Tag Team, SSW Tag Team at XWF Wild and Wicked in 2012, 82

Top Rank: #84 in 2012

Currently: #84

The Undertaker

The biggest American star that isn't in XWF, (Kanyon/Mortis is #1, and Taker is neck and neck with Orton for #2) Mark Calaway is currently employed by both WWC and UPW. The Undertaker floated around the upper echelons of the WWF until it folded, but came away with only a tag title reign with Ahmed Johnson to show for it, not counting his pre-game HW Title win. After a brief stint with WAR, Mark Callous came back to WCW, collecting the World Title from HHH in 2004, and the US Title in 2006. He saw the death of WCW as well, and then toured with NJPW as Punisher Dice Morgan for a few months before returning to the States, where he was snapped up by WWC and UPW, where he remains to this day. At 47, he's not quite what he used to be, but he definitely has a few good matches left in him.

Top Match: Vs. Wild Pegasus on NJPW tour in 2008, 94

Title History: WCW World, WWF World, WCW Tag, WWF Tag, USWA World, PUW HW, WWC Universal

Top Rank: #33 in 1993

Currently: #362

I'm just happy to get any response at all at this point! :p My current plan is to just award this round to you and then suspend the predictions for a while, unless there's an objection or somebody else starts predicting.

XWF Breakin' Out

Fri 1, Feb. 2013

Pre-show: Miz squashed Big Tilly (48); Jericho/Duncum d. Richards/Strong (49, heels poor chem); Power squashed Dibiase Jr. (52)

-George St-Pierre opens the show, #1 Contender belt still in his possession. Jericho left it behind when he ran away last week, and even though he's a coward, all he has to do is come and take it back! But for now, GSP has other gold on his mind in his first official match as a member of the roster!

Rating: 59

-Tag Titles: Future Vision © v. Georges St-Pierre and Kurt Angle

The MMA fighter and the amateur wrestler play off each other quite well, but Future Vision brings years of tag team experience to the table. It's a back and forth fight, with St-Pierre looking quite impressive. Chris Jericho slinks down to ringside as GSP gets the upper hand! Jericho grabs his belt and tries to escape, but St-Pierre grabs him by the hair and takes him out! Unfortunately, he can't afford to lose focus against the veteran champions, and he is dispatched shortly thereafter.

Rating: 52

-Match: Kevin Nash v. New Jack

Nash is able to secure a win with little incident.

Rating: 58

-Orton comes down to taunt Nash, and they finally decide to settle things at No Remorse!

Rating: 50

-Match: Randy Orton squashed Steve Armstrong

Rating: 59

-Match: Bagwell and Scorpio v. European Union

Dupree and Maritato repeat their debut with another impressive win over the vets.

Rating: 64

-Match: Mr. Anderson v. Jimmy Snuka Jr.

Both have been on a hot streak of late, but Anderson is the one going to the pay window tonight.

Rating: 67

-Commissioner Lenny Leonard has called Mortis to his office. He informs the world champ that he is finally cleared to wrestle again after his injury at the hands of Levesque and James, but warns him to be careful out there tonight. Mortis doesn't seem to heed the warning, but he does seem rather eager to get his hands on Purity of Purpose.

Rating: 52

-Match: Gail Kim v. Nikita

A snoozer of a match that is interrupted by Vanessa Kraven biking to ringside and wiping out both combatants.

Rating: 29

-Ariel comes down and we have a FOUR WAY BRAWL in case the audience isn't back from the bathroom yet.

Rating: 18

-Match: Eddie Colon v. The Prototype

Colon seems a bit off his game, perhaps out of concern for Nash and his rivalry with Orton. You need to be on your game when fighting Prototype!

Rating: 61

-Orton shows up and RKO's Colon! Nash lumbers out to make the save but the damage is done.

Rating: 45

-Match: Mortis and Perry Saturn v. Purity of Purpose

A solid match, with Mortis prevailing in his first match back!

Rating: 70

Mortis/Saturn poor chem

-Purity of Purpose aren't done however! They jump Mortis (and Saturn) from behind after the bell! Mortis receives a brutal beatdown, culminating with a couple of sledgehammer shots from Levesque to the recently healed nose!

Rating: 48

Post-show: Gibson/Mickie d. Wright/Torrie (38, faces poor chem)

Overall: 64

Lost pop in 11 regions

<p>XPW Breakin' Out</p><p>

Fri. 2, February 2013</p><p>

<em>Nash was sternly warned for attracting locker room heat.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Pre-show: Gibson/Vanessa d. Vampire/Kuragaki (47)</p><p> </p><p>

-Levesque opens the show in the ring with his sledgehammer to brag. Last week, he and BG James destroyed the world champion Mortis. That's twice now they've injured him, and this time he might not even make it back! Levesque thinks he should be awarded the title, but around then Mortis interrupts him LIVE VIA SATELLITE. He tells Levesque that he may be unable to compete tonight, but Levesque will have to crawl over his dead body to take this title. It's personal now, and Mortis will have his vengeance.</p><p>

Rating: 51</p><p>

Poor improvisation from both parties</p><p> </p><p>

-Street Fight: Perry Power v. Paul Levesque</p><p>

Levesque shows off his brawling skills here, and is able to dispatch Power with relative ease, punctuating his victory with a vicious sledgehammer shot.</p><p>

Rating: 63</p><p> </p><p>

-Jimmy Snuka Jr. is hitting on an uncomfortable Ariel backstage when Alex Wright tells him to get lost. MIDCARD ANGLES!</p><p>

Rating: 45</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Alex Wright v. Jimmy Snuka Jr.</p><p>

Wright holds his own, but things go from bad to worse for him when Nikita runs in to distract him, getting one up on Ariel by securing Snuka's win.</p><p>

Rating: 61</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Buff Bagwell and 2 Cold Scorpio v. The Prototype and Chris Jericho</p><p>

Jericho is back to his cocky self, but seems content to let Prototype do most of the heavy lifting. Luckily for him, Prototype is up to the task!</p><p>

Rating: 64</p><p> </p><p>

-Jericho brags about his win, and states that it was way more fun than having crazy UFC rejects stealing his title! St-Pierre comes out at this point to sarcastically applaud Jericho's ability to run from tough fights and let his partner win matches for him. Jericho gets mad, but not mad enough to risk a fight.</p><p>

Rating: 45</p><p>

GSP improvised poorly</p><p> </p><p>

-Tag Titles: Future Vision © v. The Miz and Kurt Angle</p><p>

Angle and Miz are both rising stars, but fare little better than all the other thrown-together tag title challengers.</p><p>

Rating: 64</p><p> </p><p>

-Steve Williams is out to put Bobby Duncum Jr. over again, and this time he's bringing in another legacy star! Duncum is the present, but Ted Dibiase Jr. is the future!</p><p>

Rating: 48</p><p>

Duncum Jr. and Williams improvised well</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Steve Armstrong and Dean Foley v. Bobby Duncum Jr. and Ted Dibiase Jr.</p><p>

A solid first outing for the team of Duncum and Dibiase ends in a victory.</p><p>

Rating: 50</p><p> </p><p>

-European Union are out to toot their own horns, boasting that they can beat ANY of you stupid Americans. Anderson comes out to dispute this, but the EU aren't scared of just one man. ….They're a bit less confident when he's joined by Perry Saturn!</p><p>

Rating: 57</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Perry Saturn and Mr. Anderson v. European Union</p><p>

European Union pull themselves together, and put together an impressive effort against their top-shelf opposition. Nevertheless, Saturn and Anderson walk away with the win.</p><p>

Rating: 67</p><p> </p><p>

-Orton is backstage telling BG James to stay out of his way tonight. James doesn't have much problem with it, but isn't convinced that Orton can fill Levesque's shoes. Orton says he doesn't care, because to him, they're both Legends...that he's eventually gonna kill.</p><p>

Rating: 57</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Kevin Nash and Eddie Colon v. BG James and Randy Orton</p><p>

Nash and Orton's blood feud is the story behind this match, and James and Colon are only there for backup. It's an intense fight, but Colon proves to be the weak link, and takes the fall.</p><p>

Rating: 69</p><p> </p><p>

Post-show: Strong/Richards d. Jack/Tilly (39)</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-show: Wright squashed Tilly (50); Miz d. Gibson (56, poor chem)</p><p> </p><p>

-Purity of Purpose open the show, talking about how they finally have Mortis cornered, and they are finishing him off tonight! But first, BG James has business of his own!</p><p>

Rating: 65</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Eddie Colon v. BG James</p><p>

Both of these men have something to prove, as their partners are in high-profile matches. It's Purity of Purpose who secure the momentum, however, as James emerges triumphant over the up-and-comer.</p><p>

Rating: 71</p><p> </p><p>

-Angle comes out to ringside, cutting a fairly generic face promo. He is interrupted by the European Union, who scoff at his American ways. A shoving match turns into a brawl, which goes poorly for Angle until Perry Saturn comes out to even the odds! They agree to a match RIGHT NOW.</p><p>

Rating: 52</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Saturn and Angle v. European Union</p><p>

The EU put on a clinic with Angle, but they're just a bit too green to hang with Saturn.</p><p>

Rating: 70</p><p> </p><p>

-Jericho comes out to put himself over, but he is interrupted by his opponent for the evening, Georges St-Pierre. GSP taunts and goads Jericho into making this a Submission match!</p><p>

Rating: 51</p><p> </p><p>

-#1 Contender Title Submission: Chris Jericho © v. Georges St-Pierre</p><p>

It was probably not the brightest idea to fight an MMA guy in a submission match, and Jericho quickly realizes it. Jericho is a solid technician himself, though, and once he knuckles down and quits trying to run away, he's able to use his ring savvy to stay on equal footing. In the end, though, he has perhaps lost a few steps to age, and that ultimately costs him the strap.</p><p>

Rating: 70</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Perry Power v. The Prototype</p><p>

An unremarkable but inoffensive match, with Prototype going over fairly readily.</p><p>

Rating: 69</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Mr. Anderson v. Jimmy Snuka Jr.</p><p>

These guys are both on the rise of late, but Anderson is able to get the win here in a tight match.</p><p>

Rating: 71</p><p> </p><p>

-Purity of Purpose are backstage celebrating Levesque's upcoming title win. Mortis shows up, taking the fight to them! With the element of surprise on his side, Mortis gains the advantage over the tired James while Levesque beats a tactical retreat.</p><p>

Rating: 52</p><p> </p><p>

-Match: Kevin Nash v. Randy Orton</p><p>

A vicious fight between the Legend Killer and his chosen target. Orton is almost serpentile in his offense, chipping cautiously away at the raging giant. Nash has power and experience on his side, but Orton's speed and technique are just too much, and he is able to slowly cut the big man down to size. Nash is ultimately laid low with a thunderous RKO.</p><p>

Rating: 68</p><p> </p><p>

-Orton says that Nash is the first of many legends he will kill. The Age of Orton is dawning!</p><p>

Rating: 72</p><p> </p><p>

-Women's Title: Ariel © v. Nikita v. Vanessa Kraven</p><p>

The heels spend enough energy fighting amongst themselves that Ariel doesn't actually have to do much to retain.</p><p>

Rating: 49</p><p> </p><p>

-Future Vision remind us that they are the CHAMPIONS and NOBODY CAN BEAT THEM.</p><p>

Rating: 51</p><p> </p><p>

-Tag Titles: Future Vision © v. Bagwell and Scorpio</p><p>

Bagwell and Scorpio show few signs of disproving this statement, but put up a decent showing before they are put away.</p><p>

Rating: 70</p><p> </p><p>

-XWF Title Street Fight: Mortis © v. Paul Levesque</p><p>

The “street fight” designation turns out to be somewhat of an exaggeration, given the strict decency standards of our PPV carrier. The story mostly consists of a repetitive brawl over the sledgehammer, although nobody ever winds up using it. Mortis ducks a shot and hits a moderately serviceable Northern Lights Suplex to retain the title to a thunderous ovation of “same old ****”</p><p>

Rating: 30</p><p>

Penalized for repetitive booking, and for being the worst iteration of the match</p><p> </p><p>

Post-show: Duncum/Dibiase d. Richards/Strong (37); Gail/Kuragaki/Foley d. Lavoie/Mickie/New Jack (37)</p><p> </p><p>

NEWSWIRE

-UWA Dia del Oprimido 2013 gets 80

-PWG Battle in the Asylum 10 gets 66

Orton is sternly warned for an altercation with a fan. Duncum Jr. is slapped on the wrist for getting in a fight with Chester Spratt.

XWF Breakin' Out

Friday 3, Feb. 2013

Pre-show: Richards and Strong d. Jack and Tilly (54); Gibson d. Foley (44, poor chem)

-Purity of Purpose are here to complain that Mortis got lucky yet again, and they deserve one more shot at the gold. LENNY LEONARD interrupts to tell them they have had plenty of shots at Mortis, and still couldn't get the job done. They can get in the back of the world title line, but if they want a shot at some gold, he has another plan for them! The next PPV is DEUCES ARE WILD, and Mr. Leonard has seen fit to have a MYSTERY PARTNER TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT! Nobody will know who their partner is until that fateful night, but the team that emerges victorious will have a shot at the tag team championships! Levesque and BG James have both been entered, so if they want some gold, that's a good place to start! Purity of Purpose seem slightly mollified, but only slightly. Leonard also gives them a chance to prove themselves, as all through the night we will see established teams taking on the kinds of crazy pairings we'll see in the tournament!

Rating: 56

-Match: Alex Wright and Kurt Angle v. Purity of Purpose

James and Levesque are a bit banged up after their PPV escapades, but also hungry to dish out some punishment. Wright and Angle are no slouches, but can't compete with PoP's ruthless aggression or years of experience together.

Rating: 65

-The new #1 Contender Champion Georges St-Pierre is out to the ring with something under a cloth! He thanks the fans for their support, and expresses his pride in his victory. He does agree with Jericho about one thing, though! #1 Contender is a pretty silly name for this belt these days, so he has something new in mind! Since the previous champion and the current champion are both from Canada, he has successfully petitioned to re-christen the belt as the North American Championship! He unveils the new belt design and shows it off to the crowd, but Jericho is hiding under the ring, and levels GSP from behind! Jericho glares angrily at his fallen opponent.

Rating: 52

-Match: 2 Cold Scorpio v. Randy Orton

Orton hasn't skipped a beat since the PPV, and demolishes Scorpio with the same precision and efficiency that laid Nash low.

Rating: 56

-Orton grabs a mic to say that he's been booked for the tag tournament as well, but he's not participating in all the nonsense tonight, and he doesn't even care who his partner is. They can put him against whomever, with whomever, in whatever stupid kind of stipulation they want- he's the Legend Killer, and he's here to destroy everybody who stands in his way.

Rating: 48

-Colon and Nash are backstage licking their wounds. Colon wants to make sure his mentor is ready to go, to which Nash responds with a grim determination that is not entirely convincing.

Rating: 40

-Match: Nash and Colon v. Prototype and Snuka Jr.

The superior experience of the face team shows, but so does the wear and tear from their PPV experiences. Prototype and Snuka are young and hungry and relatively fresh, and they make a huge statement with a win.

Rating: 61

-Perry Power invites us to his home to watch him train in a fairly dull video package.

Rating: 46

-Match: Buff Bagwell and The Miz v. Deadly Legacy (Duncum Jr. and Dibiase Jr.)

Miz might not be Bagwell's usual partner, but he seems up to the task, and you just never know what will happen in a MYSTERY PARTNER TOURNAMENT! Despite Dr. Death's exhortations at ringside, Miz is able to secure the win for his team.

Rating: 61

-Future Vision are in Leonard's office. They don't mind having to face the winner of the tournament, but where does that leave them for Deuces are Wild? They certainly don't need to enter the tournament, but some bad things might happen if Leonard lets them get bored. Our favorite rarely-seen commissioner has a plan for that, however! They are going to fight Mortis and St-Pierre tonight....and if they win, they will fight Mortis in a triple threat for the strap at the PPV! If they lose however, they lose the tag titles!

Rating: 49

-Match: Ariel/Gail v. Vanessa/Mickie v. Nikita/Camillei

The less said, the better. It's Vanessa Kraven's turn to look good.

Rating: 36

-European Union, having learned little in the last few weeks, come out to brag about how either as a unit or separately, they can prove their European superiority to anybody on the roster, and that is why the tournament does not bother them, nor do their mystery opponents for the evening! Said opponents turn out to be Saturn and Anderson, so once again, “whoops.”

Rating: 54

-Match: Perry Saturn and Mr. Anderson v. European Union

This setup tends to bode poorly for the EU, and tonight is no exception. They put up a respectable outing against the top-shelf face pairing, however!

Rating: 57

-Future Vision jump GSP during his entrance! Mortis comes out for the save and we have a brawl before the match even starts!

Rating: 51

-Match: Mortis and Georges St-Pierre v. Future Vision

A very solid fight between the singles champs and the well-oiled tag team. It could easily go either way....until Jericho comes to ringside and attacks GSP on the outside! Mortis misses a hot tag as a result, and soon takes the fall.

Rating: 69

Overall: 61
