Across the nation, everyone's ready for another dose of HollyWeird goodness, and we won't disappoint. In the opening contest alone <strong>Ayesha</strong>, the Warrior Princess, will lock up with <strong>Victoria</strong>, in a showcase of how dangerous the HollyWeird Girls can get.</p><p> </p><p>

Six-man tag action follows, as the <strong>Untouchables</strong> go up against <strong>Liberty & Young Blood</strong>. Gangland action doesn't always translate perfectly to the wrestling ring... but sometimes you'd be surprised. Will Liberty just add to his slate of problems?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Black Cobra</strong> is enigmatic, calculating, and a great wrestler of mysterious origins. <strong>Charlie Thatcher</strong> is a hard-hitting powerhouse who moves faster than anyone his size has a right to. Which of those is going to gain the advantage? Find out Thursday night!</p><p> </p><p>

Tag team action to follow as two tough-guy teams of veterans collide. The <strong>One Percenters</strong> are used to hitting the road... but tonight, the <strong>Streets Run Red</strong>. Which will win through?</p><p> </p><p>

An <strong>International Championship</strong> contest is also scheduled for the show. He's wowed you regularly, and now <strong>Monty Walker</strong> takes on the legend - <strong>Romeo Heartthrob</strong>. This honestly could go either way...</p><p> </p><p>

In the main event, two tag team legends meet in singles competition. It's <strong>Bryan Vessey</strong> against <strong>Nemesis</strong>. Can Bryan prove that the loss of Coach Dick Pangrazzio won't slow the All-Star Team down?</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Ayesha vs. <strong>Victoria</strong></p><p>

<em>Victoria is the one who has been doing more so far.</em></p><p>

</p><p><strong>

The Untouchables (Joel Bryant, Paul Steadyfast, & Robert Oxford)</strong> vs. Liberty & Young Blood (Paul & Richard Blood)</p><p>

<em>Even with Liberty on their side, I still don´t see Young Blood going over Untouchables.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra vs. <strong>Charlie Thatcher w/ Peter Valentine</strong></p><p>

<em>Thatcher wins thanks to Valentine making his presence felt.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The One Percenters (Mayhem Midden & The Night Rider) vs. <strong>Streets Run Red (Dusty Streets & Giant Redwood)</strong></p><p>

<em>I would like to go with One Percenters but I figure that Dusty is the most important guy on this match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

HGC International Championship</p><p>

<strong>Monty Walker ©</strong> vs. Romeo Heartthrob</p><p>

<em>I actually could see a title change happening here but I still doubt it.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bryan Vessey</strong> vs. Nemesis</p><p>

<em>Does Sam Strong get to book this match since it´s singles match? If yes, then I see Nemesis losing. </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> Actually scratch that, I see Nemesis losing anyway in order to build the likely tag title rematch between the two teams.</em></p>

The old wooden floorboards of Charlie Homicide's home are a familiar sight by now. There's a steady sound of what might be drumming and what might be hammering from out of shot, as the camera pans around. Once again we see Homicide and Killer sprawled together in a bed, Homicide's modesty covered this time by Killer's thigh, Killer's modesty covered by her own elbow.</p><p> </p><p>

Charlie's eyes blaze into camera.</p><p> </p><p>

“When the Europeans came to America, they beheld fresh gold, wrought into beauty by talented smiths. And they spilled blood for it. Blood and gold, soaked into the dirt of this continent. </p><p> </p><p>

“Centuries later, they did the same thing, trampling those who'd lived there and those who started fresh into the dirt.</p><p> </p><p>

“The only ones who survived still bled. But survival was left only for the true men... and survival was necessary. Survival and gold became interchangeable.</p><p> </p><p>

“As the world turns, as this month ends, so will many. But I will survive. And gold will be interchangeable with my survival.”</p><p> </p><p>

There's a pause. Killer's voice rises, unusually – shockingly – timid.</p><p> </p><p>

“What about the patriot?”</p><p> </p><p>

Homicide looks surprised. “What about him?”</p><p> </p><p>

Ayesha vs. Victoria</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A goodish contest, with Ayesha doing a pretty good job of wrestling-in-spite-of-her-costume. The two of them do their level best to ignore the skimpiness of their clothing and push through to a good match. Victoria gets put in a sleeper, and runs up the turnbuckles to backflip out. Ayesha blocks a Stone's Throw attempt and counters into something very like a bulldog.</p><p> </p><p>

But in the end, Victoria manages to lock in a move very much like a Stone Hold, and in the end, Ayesha has to tap.</p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Victoria defeated Ayesha</span></p><p>

The Untouchables vs. Liberty & Young Blood</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

And things really pick up. Out of this contest, one side has an exciting blend of interesting styles; the others, however, reliably deliver solid wrestling matches no matter their opponents. The mix is a good one, and Liberty wins a lot of people over to the side of his protégés while the contest rises.</p><p> </p><p>

Oxford's sheer experience with tag-team wrestling shines, allowing him to intermittently dominate even Liberty by blindsiding him with quick tags or double-teams. He even nearly pins the fan favourite after a Top Rope Knee Drop, but the Blood brothers nail him with a synchronised dropkick to break the pinfall. </p><p> </p><p>

In a neat touch, Eugene Williams begins the count again a moment later, as Oxford, while collapsed, is still collapsed over his opponent – but with no leverage being employed against him, Liberty kicks out.</p><p> </p><p>

The Untouchables shine here, but so do their opponents, and at the very end Paul Blood staggers Steadyfast and Liberty nails the Liberation Slam, securing the hard-fought victory.</p><p>

Black Cobra vs. Charlie Thatcher w/ Peter Valentine</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It's big man versus Japanese junior in what would be an exciting match if anyone had already bothered getting the fans to care about the inscrutable Cobra and the Licenced Cougar Hunter; instead, this match more or less means the start of that attempt, and as such the crowd aren't yet behind them.</p><p> </p><p>

Thatcher does pretty well, but Cobra does better, almost dominant in places. He gets Thatcher down and goes to the outside, setting up for the From The Snakepit With Love, and Peter Valentine pops up the steps and shoves him off. Charlie, recovering, nails the Crusher Legdrop to secure a victory.</p><p>

The lights in the arena go white for a long moment to the accompaniment of the sound of thunder.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/SkullDeBones_jhd2_zps8af8569e.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/SkullDeBones_jhd2_zps8af8569e.jpg</span></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>

As the whiteness fades and people's vision returns, the skull-faced man is back in the ring. Valentine bails; the skull-faced man thus grabs Thatcher rather than anyone else by the throat and hits a chokeslam, getting a good four feed of clear space between Thatcher's lowest point and the mat at the slam's apex.</p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra backs away, eyes on this interloper, and another flare of lightning occurs... and the interloper is vanished.</p><p> </p><p>

The One Percenters vs. Streets Run Red</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A not-great, not-bad contest; the Percenters do a lot of the work but their opponents are on a roll and seem near-unstoppable in tag team competition right now.</p><p> </p><p>

It goes around a few until a clearly-exhausted Giant Redwood either hits Midden with the Standing Splash or just pitches forward through lack of energy. Whichever's the case, it gets the pin.</p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Streets Run Red defeated the One Percenters</span></p><p>

Romeo Heartthrob, Rocky Constantino – Cruiserweight Championship belt over his shoulder – and Hollywood Mike Kinsey are milling around.</p><p> </p><p>

They're also smirking.</p><p> </p><p>

Hollywood Mike catches sight of the red light on the camera and winks.</p><p> </p><p>

“Since I came to HGC,” he says, “I've been dealing a lot with little men. Now, I've got no problem with that. Nobody knows better than Mike Kinsey that it's not your size, it's what you can do – and these guys, the little grapplers hooded for safety, they can do a lot, and they do it well.</p><p> </p><p>

“But not as well as this man.” He claps his hand on Constantino's shoulder.</p><p> </p><p>

“He understands. He's got the cred to tweak the scale. He goes the distance. He can match the pace, and hard and fast or sweet and smooth, he gets the job done.”</p><p> </p><p>

Rocky nods. Heartthrob chuckles. “There's not many people in this business,” he says, “who know how to make the women's hearts... throb. But you're looking at three of the best. We put the fun into wrestling, and we don't lose titles... because sometimes you need a ring of cold, hard metal to really provide the rush.</p><p> </p><p>

“Come one, come all. This belt goes nowhere.”</p><p> </p><p>

Monty Walker © vs. Romeo Heartthrob</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

There's a pretty fun contest in here, although it isn't particularly noteworthy. Still, there's some good stuff; Heartthrob tries for takedowns and neutralisations, and Walker spends a lot of his time effectively on the defensive, slipping clear and trying to prevent himself from being clamped down upon.</p><p> </p><p>

By the end of the contest Walker's shoulder has been warn down and almost destroyed anyway, likely in anticipation of applying Cupid's Clutch. But the Walk slips clear again, lands on his feet, steadies, and nails the Full Monty, picking up the victory thereby.</p><p>

Bryan Vessey vs. Nemesis</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This, though? This is a worthy main event. Vessey's young, but he's extremely talented, and Nemesis can make this an astonishing brawl when he chooses to put his foot on the gas.</p><p> </p><p>

With a little of everything on display, Vessey lights up the arena and Nemesis matches him, waking up the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

The finishing sequence is frankly stunning; Vessey nearly hits the Vessey Driver, only to be countered to the Nemesis Arrow – countered to the Vessey Driver – countered to the Nemesis Arrow – and, with a knee to Vessey's face to prevent him from countering – that finally hits home and makes an end of it.</p><p>

Backstage go the cameras, and they catch sight of the Demons of Rage, standing with arms folded before a monitor showing the aftermath of the match. Anger snorts. Spite laughs, and turns away.</p><p> </p><p>

“We could take 'em,” Anger says.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>I've been liking what I'm seeing so far. Heck, the 'shoot' segments are almost making Peter Valentine something approaching..... well not 'likable' but somewhere above 'hate-slightly-less-than-Redwood'.</p><p> </p><p>

My only disappointment is that (and this is only because of her render), is that you can't really go full on She-Who-Must-Do-Battle for Grace/Ayesha. But then that level of silliness would probably not fit the tone of the diary anyway.</p>

Java chuckles wryly. He leans back in his chair; behind him, through the Plexiglass screen, the gym's patrons go about their workouts. In the Chicago-dominated accent familiar from his other shoot appearances, he begins “We were green, OK? Remember that. We were green, and we were actually pretty busy. </p><p> </p><p>

“We came out of Japan to work for HGC on Rip's recommendation, and Warrior was working XFW at the time. I didn't have a set place but I got the occasional booking elsewhere... but we were used to the Japanese system, where you tape all the shows and edit a highlights tape every week. The system here is different, both the shows went out live, but we worked most tapings, just in the pre-show, and it didn't really sink in why we almost never got on the air.</p><p> </p><p>

“We weren't the only ones; the Hardcore Crew, which is the way we called 'em, they mostly worked the dark. The Maple Leafs were half-dark, half-show people. Even the Cult did plenty in the pre-show.</p><p> </p><p>

“It was all part of Nemesis' plan, really. Him and Rip and the two Js – Jimmy and Jason – they saw the HGC schedule as a way to put together... I think Rip and Jimmy in particular just expected HGC to fold one day.</p><p> </p><p>

“They were training us for whatever replaced it. They wanted a serious-business alternative to Dick Eisen.</p><p> </p><p>

“The greener you were, the harder you got worked in the dark. And half the time, the better your opposition.”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>–</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/AngryGilmore_zpsb55f4a1d.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/AngryGilmore_zpsb55f4a1d.jpg</span></a></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Tom Gilmore nods. “I basically owe my career to date to the training regime in the dark. So does Paul Hunter – and there you're talking a multi-time SWF champ. Eisen-logic said you're a brawler, or a technician, or a flier. That actually went for Nemesis, too, in terms of how he'd learned to work, what he could do when he arrived in HollyWeird.</p><p> </p><p>

“Chord and Power wanted to create a generation who could do whatever they needed do. And they got a couple other vets on their side, and a couple young talents working the Japanese all-round styles or the Canadian deep grounding style, and they set all of us to work training one another.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Nemesis oversaw all the stuff with the tag teams. Sam let a lot roll by him. Little by little, that became Rip.”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>–</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/TheHype_zps5b660eaf.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/TheHype_zps5b660eaf.jpg</span></a></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Todd Cusson chuckles. “The name of the game is professionalism... and whether you think a sixteen-year-old will notice a lack, or not.</p><p> </p><p>

“When your sixteen-year-old boss is a self-made billionaire, you've got to think that just maybe he might...”</p><p> </p><p>

He flashes the camera a grin. “Rip Chord always used to say he was above politics... and then he'd give it a moment, then laugh. A lot of people thought he meant he wasn't above politics... but what he <em>meant</em> was he knew ways to do an end-run round company politics and get stuff his own way without dealing with them.</p><p> </p><p>

“None of Valentine's always-an-excuse and always-a-logical-explanation-in-place stuff. None of Strong's power plays. None of Nemesis or Dread's intimidation.</p><p> </p><p>

“I'm not sure what he intended, when he decided to do it, or even whether he acted out of necessity and turned around one day a necessary part of booking TV. But it happened.”</p>

An unusual opening contest, but Charlie Thatcher and Peter Valentine are set to face the new duo of the Human Arsenal and Jason Jackson. Will this new pairing find its feet? Or will this be a one-off?

Up immediately after that, the Insane Heat takes on Whistler. Rumour has it an entrepreneur has applied for a manger's licence for Whistler - so who could this be?

Tag team action is scheduled to follow, as the Maple Leafs continue searching for their first win, this time against the Tag Team Specialists. They show real promise - they're John-Boy Tucker's pick for the best of LSW - but are they going to come through yet?

Shane Sneer's put together the match that will found out our first hour. He states it could have contendership implications, as Mr. Lucha locks up with Teddy Flame. Both men are astonishing - we don't have a pick to win, but we're eager to watch!

With more definite title implications right now, the Black Cobra, the Hype, Ramon Paez and Super Joshuya do battle, looking to become a contender to the Cruiserweight Championship.

In the semi-main, we think there are more moves toward the top title - it's Dread on one side, Hardcore Champion Richie Pangrazzio on the other. While it's non-title, both men will doubtless be hoping for forward momentum and a big win over a big name...

And in the main event, three great tag teams clash - the Black Serpent Cult, the Demons of Rage, and the Next Generation. It's sure to be epic!

PREDICTION KEY

Charlie Thatcher & Peter Valentine vs. the Human Arsenal & Jason Jackson

Charlie Thatcher & Peter Valentine vs. the Human Arsenal & Jason Jackson

As much as it pains me, Valentine and Thatcher are higher on the pecking order.

The Insane Heat vs. Whistler w/ ????

Whistler has been slighly better so far in my eyes plus mystery manager will likely help too.

The Maple Leafs (Grunt & Slapshot) vs. The Tag Team Specialists (Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford)

Bigger names at this point.

Mr Lucha vs. Teddy Flame

Tough one but I go with Lucha since Teddy likely still has things to settle with Joey first.

Black Cobra vs. The Hype w/ Lady Melissa vs. Ramon Paez vs. Super Joshuya

Cobra has got most screen time resently so I go with him.

Dread vs. Richie Pangrazzio (non-title)

Bigger name

Black Serpent Cult (Cobra & Viper) vs. Demons of Rage (Demon Anger & Demon Spite) vs. Next Generation (Brent Hill & Bryan Holmes)

It´s between Cult and Demons and I figure that Demons take this round.

<p>Genuinely curious to find out what leads to the Rich Money jump. I'm suspecting its a case of Sam Strong politicking him out, because I can't see how the hell Nemesis would let this fish slip by. Or maybe Nemesis had one of his infamous backstage pissing contests. Or maybe Eisen starts thinking of ways to deplank the Invincible ship.</p><p> </p><p>

Rip Chord comes out through them, more or less shrugging them off during their final pose, showing total disregard. He has a mic in hand and climbs into the ring, wiping his boots on the ring apron as is his tradition.</p><p> </p><p>

“The key to winning a wrestling match,” he begins, “is being able to do something that ends with the referee's hand hitting the mat three times, or with your opponent begging for the match to end.</p><p> </p><p>

“I looked at that question when I was young, and I said to myself the way to go was to make that hand hit that mat.</p><p> </p><p>

“Nowadays, of course, your submission boys have it easier. Used to be a man could get frustrated, pound the mat, maybe work up some momentum. Can't do that anymore. But I went for a pinner... and I took the DDT, ain't gonna pretend I invented it, but I saw the potential it had and I took it and I worked it, man, I worked it hard through no-name independents until I knew I had it right. Until I could pull the trigger and know I'd get that pin.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Carry On My Wayward Son</em> hits midway through that last word. Liberty makes his way out onto the ramp, microphone in hand – and with Young Blood standing proudly behind him.</p><p> </p><p>

“I think you promised to put me down, Rip,” Liberty says. “You going back on that? You giving up, publically, here in Hawai'i, in front of everybody here at Ellison's?”</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd pops big for the recognition.</p><p> </p><p>

“Putting you down is a thing I gave my word on,” Rip says slowly, picking his words with as much care as he takes to select a move, “but the World Heavyweight Championship is the World Heavyweight Championship.</p><p> </p><p>

“Consider yourself postponed.”</p><p> </p><p>

Liberty shakes his head. “Time you took me seriously, man,” he says. “This will not stand, man.” He grins. “I know I look like I don't care, man, but, in the parlance of our times... you mess with me, you better finish the job.”</p><p> </p><p>

The two stare daggers at one another as the show goes to commercial.</p><p> </p><p>

Charlie Thatcher & Peter Valentine vs. Human Arsenal & Jason Jackson</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

There's an interesting little dynamic in this match, with two veterans and two near-rookies. It's an exciting contest, at least when Arsenal or Jackson are in control, and even Valentine appears to not be completely phoning this one in – but while it's Thatcher's Crusher Legdrop that puts the Human Arsenal down, a blind tag leads to Peter Valentine picking up the pin.</p><p>

The Insane Heat vs. Whistler w/ Louis 'Worm' Williams</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The fans are somewhat surprised when Whistler comes out with SWF talent 'the Worm' alongside. So is Jason Azaria, who speculates for a while on why Whistler would ally himself with someone of the Worm's reputation – though Kyle Rhodes is more interested in whether Whistler's the 'patriot' that Karen Killer's worried about, and if that has anything to do with this match.</p><p> </p><p>

The battle itself is a pretty cool brawl, with Whistler digging down deep to produce new reserves as the Heat continues to assault him. It's an East Coast Wars dream match, and it's a throwaway in HGC – but a throwaway that ends when Whistler nails the Rebel Yell to cement the victory.</p><p>

The Maple Leafs vs. The Tag Team Specialists</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

There are glimpses, in here, of what could be a beautiful match, with time; with the fans getting behind the Maple Leafs. And the Specialists do their best to <em>make</em> them, by being the devil such that the Canadian angels may shine. It's not enough – yet – but one day it surely will be.</p><p> </p><p>

In the meantime, they look dangerous. Grinder catches Oxford and slams him off the top rope. Slapshot nearly locks Bryant down in a painful-looking submission, but Bryant twists clear before it can be locked on. Instead, he manages to rally, hitting the One Shot Drop to pick up the win.</p><p>

Backstage, and Monty Walker is... well, walking.</p><p> </p><p>

He's got a girl on one arm, and she's fondling the facets of the golden belt he carries. The two are chatting in low tones, the smirk of a man comfortable with his current situation on Walker's face.</p><p> </p><p>

Paul Steadyfast steps out from round a corner as the duo approach. The implication that the Untouchables are lying in wait is clear; Walker comes to a stop, gently moving the girl behind him.</p><p> </p><p>

“You again?” he asks.</p><p> </p><p>

Steadyfast just smirks. “You can't have too much of a good thing,” he says. “And I haven't had enough of what you've got over your shoulder... yet.”</p><p> </p><p>

Walker smiles. “You want a match?”</p><p> </p><p>

“I want the title,” Steadyfast says. “And sooner or later you're going to hand it do me.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Just like that?”</p><p> </p><p>

“Maybe after a match. Maybe you're just going to want to give it up.” Steadyfast grins. “But that belt's going to be mine.”</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Flame chuckles. “I heard some of that,” he says. “Let's set up the match.</p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra vs. The Hype w/ Lady Melissa vs. Ramon Paez vs. Super Joshuya</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The biggest problem with this one is that they eschew the idea of ever having just two men in the ring; nobody can entirely keep up with what's going on.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/CharlieThatcher_zpsc706a02b.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/CharlieThatcher_zpsc706a02b.jpg</span></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Most common are the Hype/Paez and Cobra/Joshuya pairings, but everyone throws down with everyone – and then, near the end, the ref concentrating on a downed Joshuya, Charlie Thatcher lays Cobra out with a big boot. Paez moves to capitalise; the Hype catches him with his Greatest Hits punch combo, making a pin of his own.</p><p>

Thatcher returns to the ring to continue attacking Black Cobra. After a few moments, and to the crowd's voluble approval, the former Sidewinder, Cowboy Ricky Dale charges the ring, breaking it up and turning it into a brawl while Cobra recovers in the corner.</p><p> </p><p>

And then, as Cobra rallies with a charging dropkick, <em>Takin' Care Of Business</em> hits. Shane Sneer makes his way onto the entry ramp as action in the ring freezes to a halt.</p><p> </p><p>

“I'm beginning to think all that madman who's hijacked our systems needs to do is watch you tear each other apart,” he says. “And so long as you're going to be doing that <em>anyway</em>, you do it for money. Dread vs. Richie Pangrazzio Jr</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A long contest, this one, and a surprisingly close one even if Pangrazzio can't apply the All-Star Lock to someone the size of Dread. The shadow of fear dwarfs his opponent, and that's typical enough; Richie fights back, throwing fists as he's had to learn to do these past few months.</p><p> </p><p>

For a wonder, he actually staggers the bigger man. “My God,” Azaria breathes, “we're looking at a prodigal warrior...” A lariat takes Dread off his feet and the crowd wake up in a hurry, wondering whether the impossible is about to happen.</p><p> </p><p>

Dread kicks out, but the question is in the air. The shadow of fear roars back into dominance, but the question remains. Right up until the Dreadsault – and possibly beyond.</p><p>

vs. Next Generation</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It's far from the best tag match HGC have put on, but it's good stuff overall. The Next Generation are coming along leaps and bounds, and one of the reasons for that is that they're working with talents as strong as these; the battle goes back and forth, all three teams often showing the possibility they might win.</p><p> </p><p>

The Demons ultimately manage to catch Bryan Holmes in the Double Demon Down, and that's enough to keep him down, Spite pinning while Anger keeps the others at bay – but it was a tough contest, and one which could have gone many different ways, in the end...</p><p>

Louis Williams chuckles, lounging in an executive chair in front of a banner prominently advertising onthemarkvideo.com, his wrestling DVD and streaming company. An advert has been inserted into the YouTube captions for the 'Birth of the Confederation' 4-disc set.</p><p> </p><p>

“It was nice to feel like a big deal,” he says. “Although really I didn't just feel like one. HGC decided to act like me coming across was the biggest deal in wrestling – they sold it that way on their websites, StallCorp ran a line item on its company news page about it, and the dirtsheets went along with it.</p><p> </p><p>

“SWF had to answer, and like that I went from a minor manager to a name you could conjure with. Rip apparently asked J.K. to bring me in, which was pretty awesome, but he picked me because my contract was coming due. I ended up making about half again what I had – there was a full-on bidding war.</p><p> </p><p>

“Sam Strong put me with Whistler, who he figured needed something more. The idea was I could be an after-match gimmick, making a joke of my name, give the fans something to hook into.</p><p> </p><p>

“I don't know who got the big news push, but I think it was a smart idea. I was the big deal at the start, but it was really about setting the precedent; HGC was willing to spend to bring in the best. Bidding wars got nasty, and SWF realised they were going to be overtaken if they weren't careful.</p><p> </p><p>

“And that was, quite honestly, before we got to the point where we are actually putting on better shows.”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>–</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/Whistler_zps6c0099f7.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/Whistler_zps6c0099f7.jpg</span></a></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Whistler shrugs. “I don't blame anyone,” he says. “Because... honestly... there's no way to explain it. There aren't many good ways to teach it, and what you can teach is the basics.</p><p> </p><p>

“HGC had seasoned veterans, some of whom had their value outplayed, and some of whom – no offence, Sam; I will <em>always</em> be proud it was you who hired me – had a time limit on how much longer their name value would be worthwhile.</p><p> </p><p>

“What we had other than that was talented guys or guys with potential, but who hadn't been on TV, for the most part. And that could be a problem somewhere down the line.</p><p> </p><p>

“I mean, you look at the matches I was having then, and they were wrong, in some very important ways. They were great – for the fans at ringside. But a TV match isn't a live match, in some important ways. I hadn't learned to feed to camera. I hadn't got the hang of just how strict the timing on a match is; usually outside TV if you go a few minutes long to get everything you planned in,m nobody cares. On TV you just hurt the main event.</p><p> </p><p>

“And I wasn't the only one, and there are two ways to learn. You wrestle folks who've been on TV constantly until you grasp the difference, or you wrestle folks who haven't and learn by doing it wrong until you start doing it right.</p><p> </p><p>

“It took quite a few months before most of us started to get it.”</p>

Another Thursday brings with it another dose of amazing wrestling in the signature HollyWeird style. And we open with 'New School' <strong>Jason Jackson</strong> versus 'Cali Ninja' <strong>Fumihiro Ota</strong> - a clash of eras, a clash of styles, but most of all a clash of ethics. Can Jackson teach Ota to fly straight? Or is school out?</p><p> </p><p>

A tag contest will follow. Making a name for themselves already, the <strong>Tag Team Specialists</strong> are up against another veteran duo, the <strong>One Percenters</strong>. With Troy Tornado scheduled to be on commentary and the Percenters led by Lady Melissa, is this going to rekindle their war?</p><p> </p><p>

Three teams collide following that. The <strong>Maple Leafs</strong>, the <strong>Nation of Filth</strong>, and <strong>Young Blood</strong> - that's quite a mix of talents. How will it turn out? We'll soon see...</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Phoenix II</strong> hasn't had a chance to fly on HGC TV much yet. Tonight he flies against <strong>Romeo Heartthrob</strong> - and how's that going to go down?</p><p> </p><p>

More airborne action to follow - <strong>Shining Force</strong> are in position to fly. But can they crest the challenge represented by the <strong>Powers of Hell</strong>?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mr Lucha</strong> has made waves since arrival. Now he faces a different challenge - the unorthodox Japanese brawler, <strong>Saionji Omura</strong>. Thus far he's always innovated - is it truly time to shine?</p><p> </p><p>

And in the main event, the thinking man's wrestler <strong>Rip Chord</strong> faces the laid-back patriot <strong>Whistler</strong>, who has extra support in his corner now from the Worm. Whistler's made a strong push in Sam Strong's absence - tonight may be where we see just how strong it is.</p><p> </p><p>

PREDICTION KEY:</p><p>

<p>Fumihiro Ota vs. <strong>Jason Jackson</strong></p><p>

<em>I would love to see Ota getting a win here but my head tells me that it won´t happen.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The One Percenters (Mayhem Midden & The Night Rider) w/ Lady Melissa vs. <strong>The Tag Team Specialists (Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford)</strong></p><p>

<em>They are simply doing more at the moment.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The Maple Leafs (Grinder & Slapshot) vs. <strong>the Nation of Filth (Grunt & Stink)</strong> vs. Young Blood (Paul & Richard Blood)</p><p>

<em>With that bet still in place, Nation is the safe choice here espesially since the other teams are still pretty new teams who haven´t yet won much.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Phoenix II vs. <strong>Romeo Heartthrob</strong></p><p>

<em>Again, Romeo is more established and have had much more time on the spotlight lately.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Powers of Hell (BLZ Bubb & Nemesis)</strong> vs. Shining Force (Dark EAGLE & the Great Hisato)</p><p>

<em>Bigger names and Shining Force isn´t likely title contender either so I don´t see much reason for them getting the win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mr Lucha</strong> vs. Saionji Omura</p><p>

<em>I know I start sounding like broken record here but this is another case where one of the guys is way more established than the other.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rip Chord</strong> vs. Whistler w/ Louis Williams</p><p>

<em>Getting a new manager is all fine but it don´t help Whistler against someone of Chord´s caliber.</em></p>

<p>Fumihiro Ota vs. <strong>Jason Jackson</strong></p><p>

<em>Ota doesn't really have the momentum to justify a win here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The One Percenters (Mayhem Midden & The Night Rider) w/ Lady Melissa vs. <strong>The Tag Team Specialists (Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford)</strong></p><p>

<em>The Specialists seem to be building to something right now whereas the One Percenters have been shoring up the midcard.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The Maple Leafs (Grinder & Slapshot) vs. the Nation of Filth (Grunt & Stink) vs. <strong>Young Blood (Paul & Richard Blood)</strong></p><p>

<em>Maybe a long shot but Young Blood seem to have more room for upward movement right now.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Phoenix II vs. <strong>Romeo Heartthrob</strong></p><p>

<em>Heartthrob is more established no matter how much I like Phoenix.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Powers of Hell (BLZ Bubb & Nemesis)</strong> vs. Shining Force (Dark EAGLE & the Great Hisato)</p><p>

<em>This one is going to be nasty for Shining Force.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mr Lucha</strong> vs. Saionji Omura</p><p>

<em>Waaaaay more established.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rip Chord</strong> vs. Whistler w/ Louis Williams</p><p>

<em>Smartest man in wrestling.</em></p>
