The beat is heavy this week, perhaps explaining why it's an unusual trio of dancers...

Rockin' In The Free World cuts in before the dancers have entirely finished, and Whistler and Louis Williams come out. The Worm looks Kamikaze Kit up and down appreciatively, but Whistler is walking with a purpose, eyes set on the ring.

Williams collects the microphone on the outside. There is no Worm.

“Someone's either hiding somewhere in this arena or they're watching,” he begins. “They know who they are, too. And they've been coming after us when we come out the ramp...

“But we're Americans too, Patriot. Whistler's a veteran. We aren't going to stop coming down here, no matter how much it paints a target. And we're going to keep fighting. No matter how many times you attack.

“But I'll tell you this – Whistler's a wrestler. And we do our fighting in front of crowds like this,” his arm sweeps the arena, provoking a roar of support, “and we do our fighting in the ring!” He lets that hang there for a few moments.

“You want us, come find us in the ring, end of the month. Show you what a real pay-per-view match should look like.”

He drops the mic, and they both head to the back.

Nothing exceptional about this match, but it's definitely fun to watch, at the least. Mucha Lucha continue to gel, and Electrico again gets most of the running, culminating in a running seated senton to Paez that sends both men over the top rope and down to the outside.

Future beats to the ropes to look, only to be caught with the Master Drop by Mr Lucha, who locks down the pin with satisfaction.

Mucha Lucha defeated Frankie Future & Ramon Paez

Rating: D+

Six or seven times in this match the balance of power shifts, with Morgan dominant for long stretches only to be outmuscled by the stronger technician.

On the back foot toward the end of the match, Jimmy notices that his body's hiding much of Morgan from the ref. A thumb to the eye breaks the shoulderlock Morgan was using, and a Powerbomb Deathlock follows immediately, securing the victory.

Jimmy Power defeated Thomas Morgan

Rating: D

Staying in the ring, Power demands the microphone. “Kill my music!” he growls. A few moments later, the production truck complies.

“Hope you were watching, Arsenal,” Power says. “You're going to be finished here when I'm done with you.

“And I get done with you at Summer Showdown. So be ready for that.” His scowl drops off there and he smiles. “See, people have forgotten about Jimmy Power. I shouldn't be on no list of the underrated – but if I am, I'm goddamn well the top dog on it. I'm six feet nine, weigh 320 pounds and my feet cover the ground that I walk upon.

“I've had time to have a career, Arsenal. You? Not so much. So, because the veterans need to pay it down, I give you a pledge here.

“I will personally absorb the expense of your first year's hospital bills once I crack your spine open.”

The big screen comes to life next, and we find ourselves in the streets of Tijuana. An excitable Spanish voice chatters over the scene as Electrico, in full body-suit, makes out with an attractive woman. The logo of a prominent Mexican TV station – one which just recently entered J.K. Stallings' investment portfolio – plays in the bottom right.

Subtitles in English scroll across the screen.

“...the most electrifying luchador in years, Electrico, protege of Mr Lucha himself, seen here publically romancing Patricia Navidad, one of the stars of telenovela Cañaveral de pasiones. Electrico is known to be married, and not to Senora Navidad.

“A source for HGC, the lucha libre promotion for which Electrico works, said today that Electrico 'has been speaking recently with Romeo Heartthrob, and it looks like Heartthrob's rubbed off on him – but not in any way that registers on the Kinsey Scale, if you understand me.'

“This raises a question again that has troubled this reporter for some time. Has the moral fabric of lucha libre fallen apart entirely? What are we allowing our children to be taught?”

Another goodish-but-not-great match, with the Specialists once again going after a veteran team, taking the fight to them.

This time, they're substantially more effective than they were on Tuesday, pulling out all the stops before the One Shot Drop lays out the Night Rider for a secure pinfall. The Specialists share a smile – a rare occurrence for Oxford – at this sign they're going up in the world.

Tag Team Specialists defeated the One Percenters

Rating: D+

Three brave, worldly high-fliers – and that's got to be a good thing, but apparently not good enough. Dread powers through them, weathering their offence and seeming untouched.

“The shadow of fear isn't like other men,” Rhodes says, near the climax, in which Dread suplexes Heroic, spinebusters Phoenix II atop him, then powerbombs EAGLE onto the top of the pile and finishes off with a Dreadsault.

Dread defeated Dark EAGLE, Mario Heroic & Phoenix II

Rating: C+

This, on the other hand, is a good one-on-one between a flier and a bigger man. Walker shows off some of what he's learned in DaVE in fending off Bubb's assault, absorbing some, evading others – notably with a backflip over a charge, out in the corner.

It's a close-run thing the whole way, with Walker countering the Hades Bomb into a twisting neckbreaker in midair but still taking a bad fall from what Bubb had done; with Bubb catching Walker's outstretched foot, mid-superkick, in one meaty paw and whirling his arm around, sending Monty smashing into the turnbuckle.

In the end, Walker manages to hit the Full Monty, and Bubb stays down for exactly long enough to have three counted. The International Champion retains, but he's clearly been put through the ringer.

Monty Walker defeated BLZ Bubb

Rating: C-

Walker, on his knees, calls for the mic. He takes it in one hand, reaching back with his other for the second rope, then the top rope, then he pulls himself back up to his feet.

“If I can survive hell, I can survive a gang,” he says.

“Paul Steadyfast, you think you're hot s**t beca-”

The next few words are lost under Jason Azaria apologising for Walker's 'emotional language'.

“...you want to come down and take me on, you be my guest. But be it known, Untouchables, I'll put this belt on the line for any of you that challenge me.

“You want to let Steadyfast have it, or you going to stand by and take your own chance?”

It's uncannily like Homicide and his big ally have been teaming all their lives. The flow they have together is remarkable, and makes their utter trouncing of an up-and-coming, promising team make a lot of sense, particularly when Colossus hits a fast and powerful double-handed choke bomb on Holmes.

Hill makes the save, but Homicide is on him moments later, giving vent to that deranged cackle, and Colossus hits a big boot for Homicide to follow with a powerbomb/jacknife pin combination that secures the fall.

Charlie Homicide & Colossus defeated the Next Generation

Rating: B-

Another good match, and, once again, Nemesis takes his perch on commentary. A hectic thing, Flame and Dale bring speed, Liberty and Chord renew their rivalry once again, with Liberty scattering his offence with moves clearly picked up from Young Blood.

Rip is as old-school as ever, and as ever, his particular brand of technical wrestling is both skilful and painful. Dale breaks it up a couple times, and twice the match breaks down with all four men in the ring doing their thing.

It's all go throughout, but in the end, Liberty's the man with the feel for the moment; he spins Rip around and plants him with the Liberation Slam while Dale and Flame battle on the top rope. Teddy brings Dale down to earth with a superplex as Ryan Holland counts three.

Cowboy Ricky Dale & Liberty defeated Rip Chord & Teddy Flame

“Yeah, the anarchy was still in play as far as what we put on TV goes,” Monty Walker says thoughtfully. “I was steering as clear of that as I could. I got a better payday from DaVE the more serious I came off, so I did as much of my talking bell to bell as I could. But it was beginning to sink in that we could get up to some crazy s**t, and Stallings would back us.

“The whole thing with the Mexico cross-promotion, for example, was just the guys involved having a few days off the house circuit – and one of them realised that if they asked for flights to Tijuana, the office would book them and a camera crew out.

“Lucha had a buddy on a newsdesk from when the guy'd been a sportscaster, years ago. The network picked out a chick they wanted to hype up, and the whole thing came together neat as anything...

“And that happening meant everyone started wondering if losing free time to go do outside filming was worth it.

“Sam was nearly back, though, and we knew that was going to be a factor when it happened. He didn't run total oversight on anyone, but he'd had a closer hold on things.

“I was more worried about all the crazy s**t going down in DaVE, some of it HollyWeird's fault. Hiring Kinsey, the Patriot, the big guy... we were making holes up and down Supreme's roster, and Supreme did what it always does. It looked to fill holes with guys from the indies while the homegrowns got promoted.

“And that meant I caught the flight out of Wisconsin Friday morning, picked up a rental car with Troy and rode out to Philly, stopped by the bar the night before and heard Tommy and Phil having an argument.”

Tornado picks up the story. “It was kind of weird, because this was the first time we heard Tommy was helping with the booking. But he was also, basically, panicking. It wasn't so much that we were losing a guy – that was fine, because we knew. But we might be losing a couple others, so how do you fit that in with storylines and pay them out? How do you keep the right mix of faces and heels?

“It was the first time Tommy'd had to deal with that. What I hear, the place he wrestled in England barely even bothered with stories. Any given show, who was on the card was pretty much random. And Supreme – well, it was like HollyWeird. You knew enough in advance to do something with it.

“Phil was trying to calm him down, because, you know, this was DaVE's big problem. It was getting hit harder than usual, sure.

“But that was because HollyWeird had hit everywhere else and left DaVE alone. When Supreme needed replacements, there was always going to be one priority.”

After the events of the Extreme Double-Header it looked a hell of a lot like DaVE had to change - and the first instalment of that change is likely to come tonight, at Bleeding Steel, an exciting event where the final two matches will both be contested in a cage. So what have we got?

Vin Tanner seems to be cosying up to head honcho Phil Vibert lately, and perhaps as a result, Tanner is locked in to face Roy Stephens in a Tables Match. Will Datsun's staunchest ally come through, or does Vibert take the first step back toward total power?

Two teams going head to head over the DaVE Tag Team Championships will be next. Reigning champions the Darkness Warriors are going to be pushed to - or beyond - their limits in a Dog Collar Match by the Dynamite Duo! Can Caulfield get back to winning ways?

Up next, a School of Tradition member makes himself known as Dan DaLay seeks to shut down the Lone Wolf - while Shawn Gonzales will no doubt want to triumph again in DaVE, especially with the consequences for losing so high in a First Blood Match.

More tag team action follows, as the unlikely duo of Henry Lee and Thomas Morgan take on experienced team Death Metal. Will Professor Nero's picks for the future begin their ascension here?

The first of our Cage Matches will follow. A number one contenders' match, it'll see Johnny Martin collide with Phil Vibert's pick JD Morgan. Will Martin win through and give us a true clash of DaVE icons, or can Morgan come up trumps once again?

And in the main event, the DaVE Extreme Champion, not to mention HGC International Champion, Monty "Sellout" Walker will collide with School of Tradition leader Eric Tyler. Still in a Steel Cage, these two are guaranteed to show us the meaning of Bleeding Steel - and whoever wins out will be truly proven the champion of Extreme!

Yknow, I just realized one of the issues with this diary (totally not your fault, obviously): DAVE isn't anywhere near ECW in terms of talent, bu yet its clearly playing the role of ECW.

Really, the talent issue could apply throughout the Cornellverse history, for that matter. DAVE never had a Jericho or a Guerrero-esque worker(they may have had a Benoit-level worker but thats certainly open to debate), they certainly didn't have a Mysterio-esque high flyer, no Cactus Jack, no Funk or Sabu, no RVD(Acid kinda fits but not really) and DAVE's hardcore workers overall are less talented than ECW's (although Nemesis was pretty hype, but hes not here for obvious reasons.)

DAVE, when you get down to it, really never made sense in the Cornellverse because SWF didn't really have a huge "down" period like WWF did in the mid 90s, and Hollyweird is not even 5% as stupid as mid 90s WCW. ECW came about because there was a lull in the industry thanks to the stupidity of the Big 2 and a gap in the market to exploit, but what exactly is DAVE doing to become a viable, popular #3? Its not like CV97 SWF/HGC are short of awesome talent, compared to WWF/WCW in the mid 90s which had a lot of talent that was simply misused or buried at the hands of the Kliq/Hogan, so DAVE isn't putting on cards that outshine the Big 2 consistently like they were in 94-early 96. So really, DAVE is a low-end regional promotion with delusions of grandeur, and there are a lot of extraneous characters in DAVE like Cook/Fletcher/Hale/Coles/pretty much everyone that isn't the core 9-10 guys, which pales to ECW's roster in its heyday.

What I'm wondering is whether or not Tommy boy decides to change DAVE from being hardcore to being great in-ring action set up by great out-of-ring storytelling that features some occasional hardcore. That, at least, that would make some degree of sense and gel with Cornell's character. But really, unless DAVE gets more than just Kunomasu from Japan they aren't gonna realistically progress to "Cult with nationwide TV deal" no matter how many times Cornell and Tyler die for their craft.

Not a knock on you, and you are prolly smart enough to have a solution to get DAVE as far as they did, but this is just me ranting. Still an A* diary in my books! Keep on keepin on.

DaVE had Art Reed, Joey Minnesota, Eisaku Kunomasu and Eddie Peak. Granted, none of them right now.

I'm kind of enjoying the rolling losses/build someone up issue I'm getting here. I may not still be enjoying it in a few months; hopefully I can get TV up and then I can at least be sure of getting final matches out've people.

TABLES MATCH

Roy Stephens w/ Miss Bliss vs. Vin Tanner - DaVE's other grumpy old man picks up the win as I don't know who Stephens is... nor do I care.

DaVE Tag Team Championships

DOG COLLAR MATCH

Darkness Warriors © (Jay & Raul Darkness) vs. Dynamite Duo (Chris Caulfield & Michael Cook) - This comes down to can Caulfiled overcome his half of the Darkness before Cook succumbs. That's how I see this playing out.

FIRST BLOOD MATCH

Dan DaLay w/ Easy Emma vs. Shawn Gonzales

- The Giant Amongst Giants bloods the Lone Wolf.

Death Metal (Death & Metal) w/ Professor Nero vs. Henry Lee & Thomas Morgan

- As much as I love Professor Nero, not even he can assist Death or Metal enough to win here.

STEEL CAGE - LOSER LEAVES TOWN

Derek Barnes w/ Phil Vibert vs. Freddie Datsun w/ Miss Bliss

- I'm guessing Datsun got poached and this is his farewell job. Yet he still goes over Barnes.

STEEL CAGE - #1 Contendership

JD Morgan w/ Phil Vibert vs. Johnny Martin

- I sense hijinkery!

STEEL CAGE - DaVE Extreme Championship

Monty Walker © vs. Eric Tyler w/ Easy Emma

- My initial call was for Monty to retain, but I flipped my vote to Eric Tyler because the same basic story can be told with Vibert's corporate wishes if Walker or Tyler is the champ. That means Monty finally landed that written deal somewhere.

Darkness Warriors © vs. Dynamite Duo</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A much less well-received match than the opener, here; the crowd still seem to resent Michael Cook's presence whenever he gets in the ring. </p><p> </p><p>

Still, the others pull the match together as well as they can, and it seems Caulfield has upped his game, gaining huge cheers when he uses his collar and the top rope to choke Raul – but Jay comes to his brother's aid, cannoning Caulfield into Cook, and the Endless Night follows, Caulfield's shoulders pinned firmly to the mat for the count of three.</p><p>

Dan DaLay w/ Easy Emma vs. Shawn Gonzales</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It's a hard match – punches, chairshots aplenty, the exposed steel of the turnbuckle, all are used at various points.</p><p> </p><p>

Mitch Naess, at the announce desk, takes a tack not many announcers would risk; he goes into the scientific aspects of the stipulation, into the careful targeting necessary to guarantee blood from the forehead with a blunt strike, hitting certain stress points from key angles.</p><p> </p><p>

He plays up the fact that Gonzales and DaLay both are often turning <em>into</em> their opponents' strikes – taking harder impacts – rather than allow that to happen. </p><p> </p><p>

At the end, brawling on the outside, the Lone Wolf feints toward Easy Emma – DaLay shifts to protect – and Gonzales capitalises, driving an elbow into the Giant Among Giants' temple. All the needed force, to the stress point, at the key angle... and there's blood.</p><p>

Death Metal w/ Professor Nero vs. Henry Lee & Thomas Morgan</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The unlikely duo arrayed against the German brothers isn't a neat match, but they seem to combine well. Morgan spends the early going as the man in action, steadily and steadfastly weakening and working over the right shoulders of both men – targeting a joint Morgan doesn't traditionally work over in his most effective submissions. And yet...</p><p> </p><p>

When the young man who dares to call himself insanity incarnate, Henry Lee, gets in the ring, things get a little different. Punches, kicks, weapons... cheap shots and hard swings are taken by both sides, and the fans at Penn Park roar for more. This is DaVE. This is how it used to be.</p><p> </p><p>

Metal falls to the Asylum Buster, his right shoulder so weakened he cannot counter.</p><p>

The DaVE ring crew – mostly youngsters with the builds of athletes, bearing black eyes and other bruises from their time using the rings – head out bearing pieces of cage and tools. As they get to bolting them together, <em>Trouble</em> begins to play and Freddie Datsun comes out, Miss Bliss matching his stride as always. </p><p> </p><p>

In contrast to Easy Emma's studiedly sexy look, Bliss is still going with the tight jeans and cropped T-Shirt approach, proudly accentuating the 'aV' in the DaVE logo blazoned across her chest.</p><p> </p><p>

Despite Phil Vibert shooting him a dark look, Mitch eagerly hands the American Everyman a microphone. He accepts with a nod; rather than enter the ring, he perches on a corner of the guardrail, at home on the line between DaVE and its fans.</p><p> </p><p>

“You know what I'm here for,” he says. “Derek Barnes and his knife.</p><p> </p><p>

“That's not how wrestling's done. Phil, these fans are the best in the world. You can't shock 'em – except, turns out, you can. You pull a knife in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

It's not often that Phil Vibert reacts like that, and the DaVE faithful take note. The whole place is deadly silent now.</p><p> </p><p>

Phil Vibert gets to his feet, buttoning his vest. He takes a moment, then speaks into his own mic.</p><p> </p><p>

“DaVE is mine, Freddie. And I understand wrestling better than your plaid a** ever will. If you don't like it, you can-”</p><p> </p><p>

He breaks off, turning away, running a hand over his mouth. The fans in attendance know what he was about to say. They sense what him stopping himself means. And they cheer.</p><p> </p><p>

They cheer, because Freddie Datsun can't have signed with NOTBPW if this is going on. He's chosen DaVE. He hasn't sold out.</p><p> </p><p>

Vibert whips around. “Let me do you a favour, Freddie,” he says. “You're saying it's you or him.</p><p> </p><p>

Derek Barnes w/ Phil Vibert vs. Freddie Datsun w/ Miss Bliss</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Barnes swaggers out while the cage is finally bolted into place. Datsun has no swagger, however; his face is ashen, and so is the face of Miss Bliss outside the steel.</p><p> </p><p>

As quickly as <em>the second minute</em> Barnes has lost his swagger. The battle is as brutal as any DaVE aficionado could wish for, even as the crowd in attendance are caught in an emotional vertigo; how far are they being swerved?</p><p> </p><p>

They feel they have their answer at the ten minute mark, when Bliss starts climbing the cage. Coming to Freddie's rescue, the two functioning as one entity as ever. They cheer her on, roaring loud and lusty.</p><p> </p><p>

Bliss reaches the top and soars. Obviously untrained, it's pure passion driving her, and it's pure passion that flies toward Barnes - </p><p> </p><p>

- who catches her and presses her right back at Datsun, flooring him. He splashes the pair of them together, hauls Bliss off, and settles down in Datsun's sight, choking her out.</p><p> </p><p>

Freddie is on him in a fury. Barnes changes his tactics under a reign of blows, a fury unmatched by any others. His time in DaVE is at stake, but so is the veteran's.</p><p> </p><p>

Barnes baits him in for the swing. Darts clear. Watches Bliss collapse from Datsun's punch. Watches Datsun fold. Low blows him. Pins him.</p><p> </p><p>

The world seems to go into slow motion as Freddie Datsun is forced out of DaVE.</p><p>

JD Morgan w/ Phil Vibert vs. Johnny Martin</p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p>Not as brutal as the match before it, but it comes close. The spin-out slam from a torture rack lift Martin calls the Twist on the Rocks is launched early – this time, as Naess calls it, “actually a Twist Right The Hell Into The Cage!”</p><p> </p><p>

Morgan shakes it off, and returns to the fight, using the cage himself to wear down his opponent – applying a hammerlock to drive Martin's shoulder into the steel, for example – and the intensity of the contest ramps up again. </p><p> </p><p>

Before too long, both men are bleeding. It doesn't slow either, and a moment that will live in the memory of anyone who sees it is Johnny, his eyes clamped shut against the crimson liquid trying to get into them, feeling Morgan grab his arm – then pulling him in and planting him with a spinebuster despite being unable to see.</p><p> </p><p>

Morgan goes for the Cross-Atlantic Stretch, but the slick blood helps Martin again. He twists and squirms free, wipes his eyes, and goes for the Twist on the Rocks – only for Morgan to nail him with a knuckleduster posted through the cage by Vibert. Another Cross-Atlantic Stretch is applied, and while Martin doesn't tap, nor does he respond.</p><p> </p><p>

With Johnny Martin out cold, JD Morgan has another shot at the Extreme Championship.</p><p>

Monty Walker © vs. Eric Tyler w/ Easy Emma</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This contest starts much more slowly than the previous two cage matches. Tyler and Walker are feeling one another out, getting the measure of each other. This is their first match, as Naess reminds the fans, running down the history of the Traditionalist and the Sellout, contrasting their styles.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/DanDaLay_zps517d2187.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/DanDaLay_zps517d2187.jpg</span></a><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/EddieChandler_Self1_zpse64be00b.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/EddieChandler_Self1_zpse64be00b.jpg</span></a><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/TommyCornellJr_alt2_zpsa1c3c213.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/TommyCornellJr_alt2_zpsa1c3c213.jpg</span></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Before either man has landed a telling strike the School of Tradition are out in force. Cornell, DaLay and Chandler join Easy Emma surrounding the cage, watching. Walker, seeing this, takes a moment while holding Tyler in a wristlock to flip the men the bird, though he contents himself with a wink toward Emma.</p><p> </p><p>

Things begin to intensify. Walker monkey flips Tyler into the cage; Tyler comes back with a suplex into the turnbuckles and a punt to the family jewels. The champion kicks out of that – but barely. Walker counters a Tradition Lift into a tornado DDT. Tyler kicks out of that – but barely.</p><p> </p><p>

Both men circle and collide again. On the outside, the School of Tradition have spread out, standing one member to a side. Watching. Waiting.</p><p> </p><p>

Walker rallies with a shiranui – and Tyler, again, kicks out. Eric tries for the Tradition Lift – Monty half-counters, and the resulting cover doesn't see the title change. Monty comes off the top of the cage with a diving double-foot stomp, and somehow, the Traditionalist finds what's necessary to kick out.</p><p> </p><p>

Around the outside, the School of Tradition seem to come to a decision. They start moving toward the cage door.</p><p> </p><p>

Tyler gets a running powerbomb to the cage, and the School halt, watching. Walker kicks out – and the School start moving again.</p><p> </p><p>

DaLay wrenches the cage door from its moorings. Tommy Cornell and Eddie Chandler come into the ring, and Walker, blearily half out of it, tenses.</p><p> </p><p>

Chandler boots Tyler in the gut. Cornell hits him with the Rough Ride. </p><p> </p><p>

There's a lengthy, shocked silence. The Brit puts a foot under Tyler's shoulder and casually roll him onto his back, and then the School look at the Extreme Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

The pair of them grab Walker by an arm each and hip toss him onto the Traditionalist.</p><p> </p><p>

“COUNT IT!” DaLay roars, and Dewey Libertine nervously makes the count.</p><p>

Easy Emma joins the School in the ring. Delving into the cleavage her corset provides, she produces a microphone. She passes it across to Tommy Cornell.</p><p> </p><p>

“You can't get it done,” he tells Tyler. “So I guess we've learned all we're gonna.</p><p> </p><p>

“School's out, teach.”</p><p> </p><p>

He drops the mic onto Tyler's head.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Wow. Looks like Self has got a hard act to follow this month.</p><p> </p><p>

Tremendous stuff. You really threw me for a loop with the Barnes match, the School of Tradition stuff was well done, which will hopefully lead to Cornell showing us why he has an entire verse named after him, and JD Morgan and Johnny Martin was a fun little match. Also, psychology in a FIRST BLOOD MATCH. Thats almost as impressive as that one Exploding Ropes Deathmatch I saw once in a joshi fed that used the extended TEST OF STRENGTH~! spot, which makes sense cause you really don't want to be pushed into exploding ropes.</p><p> </p><p>

Now its time to see the fallout. Who gets what. What does Eisen do. What does STallings do. Does Strong not suffer a heart attack via Nemesis and explain to us via YouTube video that none of those vanilla midgets like Tom Gilmore can ever draw a dime, brother. Does Charlie Homicide survive the repeated beatings with the Plot Shovel.</p><p> </p><p>

Good job PS! Looking forward to the next chapter.</p>

“So, OK,” Eddie Chandler says. “I fly in on the Saturday and I hear we're changing stable leader. And we're changing stable leader because Tyler has an SWF offer on the table.</p><p> </p><p>

“So I shrug my shoulders, say cool, head out to the bar my girlfriend at the time works at, have some fun in the afternoon, head back to find out what I'm needed for.</p><p> </p><p>

“Turns out that Eric might be leaving, JD might be leaving, and Freddie <em>is</em> leaving. And that's all got to be addressed one way or another.</p><p> </p><p>

“Which means I'm down a match, but I'm due to show up for stuff, I'm still getting paid. And everybody's freaking out, panicking, getting edgy about DaVE collapsing... And I'm loving it.” His grin spreads wide.</p><p> </p><p>

“I mean, I can't believe people are panicking about this. <em>DaVE is getting noticed.</em> Our careers, every one of us, could explode any week.”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>–</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/DanDaLay_zps517d2187.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/DanDaLay_zps517d2187.jpg</span></a></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Dan DaLay rolls his eyes, settled in his easy chair wearing the SWF T-shirt produced for his unlikely stint tagging with Alex DeColt in 2009, faded by now, stretched taut over his muscles. “All the love in the world for Eddie,” he says. “Elite revitalised my career in Canada when it happened, told everyone I could be more than Tommy Morgan's enforcer. The matches I've had with Eddie – career-defining feud. Not afraid to admit it.</p><p> </p><p>

“I've never quite understood why Eddie and Eric hate each other so much. It's some big issue or other and I'll never get it. So, two things about Bleeding Steel.”</p><p> </p><p>

He holds up a finger. “One, I'm pretty sure Eddie stiffed Eric on the kick at the end. Honestly he's lucky that was all Eddie was s'posed to do.”</p><p> </p><p>

A second finger follows. “Two, Eric kept the locker room from exploding. Got everyone together and made the speech someone had to. Kept everyone from freaking out. Pointed us at Monty, pointed us at Johnny, Tommy, and me, and said we still had the guys we needed to keep going forward. And then Phil stepped forward, said he had some ideas on who to bring in.</p><p> </p><p>

“And we needed that. It's a booker's responsibility to make the speech, and Phil and Tommy had the book between them. Tommy, he had no f***in' idea. He looked like he'd been banjaxed.” DaLay grins. “You'd never have guessed when he headed out there, though. A booker he maybe wasn't, but the kid's always been a worker.”</p>

And the week of the Summer Showdown arrives. We know a lot about what's to come, but we don't know everything - and what we do know isn't complete. But on Tuesday, the picture will become clearer - and there'll be some great matches, to boot.</p><p> </p><p>

Tag team action begins the show, as <strong>Young Blood</strong> become the latest team seeking that elusive victory over <strong>Streets Run Red</strong>! Who'll come out on top?</p><p> </p><p>

Four corners of fury follow up, and these are guaranteed to be furious indeed. <strong>Charlie Thatcher</strong>, <strong>Dread</strong>, <strong>Jason Jackson</strong> and <strong>Tom Gilmore</strong> - we don't see any of them as often as we'd like to, but they're all strong competitors.</p><p> </p><p>

And back to the tag teams next. The <strong>Sweet Sensations</strong> are set to take on one of their greatest challenges yet - the fast-developing <strong>Untouchables</strong>. Is school about to be in session?</p><p> </p><p>

Following on from that, two young teams tipped for greatness collide. The <strong>Nation of Filth</strong> and the <strong>Next Generation</strong> are racing for the top. Seems likely both will make it - but who's gonna make it first?</p><p> </p><p>

He debuted in the ring last week. He's powerful. And now he has his first one-on-one contest - against a man who's won on PPV numerous times here in HollyWeird. <strong>Colossus</strong> collides with <strong>the Hype</strong> today... and who's going to win out when it comes to it?</p><p> </p><p>

Tag team action is set to follow, after a request from Jimmy Power to Shane Sneer. <strong>Jimmy Power will team with an unidentified ally</strong> - and his opponents? <strong>The Human Arsenal - and Thomas Morgan</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>

And one on one to follow. The <strong>Insane Heat</strong> is a very dangerous man, make no bones about it - but the <strong>Black Cobra</strong> has already developed quite a history. So which will break through in the end?</p><p> </p><p>

Lastly, we'll see a champion collide with former champions in the main event. <strong>Charlie Homicide and Rip Chord</strong> team again - against the <strong>Vessey Brothers</strong>! It's got to be said - against stiff competition, this is the one we're looking for most.</p><p> </p><p>

Prediction Key:</p><p>

Streets Run Red (Dusty Streets & Giant Redwood) vs. Young Blood (Paul & Richard Blood)</p><p> </p><p>

Charlie Thatcher vs. Dread vs. Jason Jackson vs. Tom Gilmore</p><p> </p><p>

Sweet Sensations (Davey J & Jackie P) vs. The Untouchables (Paul Steadyfast & Robert Oxford)</p><p> </p><p>

The Nation of Filth (Grunt & Stink) vs. The Next Generation (Brent Hill & Bryan Holmes)</p><p> </p><p>

Colossus w/ Karen Killer vs. The Hype w/ Lady Melissa</p><p> </p><p>

Human Arsenal & Thomas Morgan vs. Jimmy Power & ????</p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra vs. The Insane Heat</p><p> </p><p>

The Vessey Brothers (Bryan & Larry) vs. Charlie Homicide & Rip Chord w/ Karen Killer</p>

<p><strong>Streets Run Red (Dusty Streets & Giant Redwood)</strong> vs. Young Blood (Paul & Richard Blood)</p><p>

<em>Hard to go with Redwood here when Rich Money (or whatever he will become in this timeline) is on the other side but right now, Dusty is still the top name from these four.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Charlie Thatcher vs. <strong>Dread</strong> vs. Jason Jackson vs. Tom Gilmore</p><p>

<em>Dread is way above the other three.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Sweet Sensations (Davey J & Jackie P) vs. <strong>The Untouchables (Paul Steadyfast & Robert Oxford)</strong></p><p>

<em>The Untouchables continue their good showings.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The Nation of Filth (Grunt & Stink) vs. <strong>The Next Generation (Brent Hill & Bryan Holmes)</strong></p><p>

<em>This is a tough one, on one hand Next Generation deserves the win here but there´s that bet about Filth so backstage politics could affect here.... I go with my heart this time and say that Generation gets the win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Colossus w/ Karen Killer</strong> vs. The Hype w/ Lady Melissa</p><p>

<em>Colossus is still pretty new so I´m guessing this one is here to built him up a bit.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Human Arsenal & Thomas Morgan vs. <strong>Jimmy Power & ????</strong></p><p>

<em>I hope I´m wrong here but I still go with Power and mystery guy.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Black Cobra</strong> vs. The Insane Heat</p><p>

<em>I don´t remember if Heat had actually won any matches yet, but surely Cobra is above him on the ladders?</em></p><p> </p><p>

The Vessey Brothers (Bryan & Larry) vs. <strong>Charlie Homicide & Rip Chord w/ Karen Killer</strong></p><p>

<em>Hard to go against established team like Vesseys but unless one of them is going to challenge Homicide for the belt, I don´t see much reason for them to go over your main champ and Chord.</em></p>

Just wanted to drop in and say that I finally got a chance to read this diary over the course of the last several days and have really enjoyed it so far. I love that you are trying to run DaVE and HGC as 'realistically' as possible without trying to just manipulate the game. As many others have said, the 'shoot' segments are, without a doubt, my favorite part of the story. Kudos!
