<p>An A Rated main event match with a running time of 10 minutes?!!</p><p> </p><p>

That's some star power right there!!!</p><p> </p><p>

Good show that really feels like a product of its time. Again, loved the comedy elimination of P&G, pretty goofy but fits in well with the product of the time and, like you, I can't remember having seen that before either!</p>

And I didn't want to show off everything before WrestleMania, so I opted not to go with a longer match with a Slow Build note and instead went with a 10 minute match. I think the match I had Warrior in against Slaughter at the Rumble was about 15 min, and he was getting the tired note for that amount of time. And as we all know, it's not a good idea to use the slow build note for a 15 min match.</p><p> </p><p> And glad you're liking how I'm portraying the shows. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> That was one of my goals, to stay as true to the product at the time as possible, but still start making progress a bit early, such as introducing Monday Night Raw come March 1991. Now I need to get to counting those predictions!</p>

Right now Beejus has a commanding lead, but Final Countdown, Smasher and Gustav are closing in. Others who made their first predictions with Canadian Stampede still have a chance as dark horses to take this, as well as those that predicted for Royal Rumble, but missed out on Canadian Stampede. Now the March to WrestleMania begins. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Speaking of which, I do have 14 matches lined up(not going to spoil what all they are, obviously), so that, along with other prediction questions, is a good chance for newbies to get in the thick of the competition if they get all of them right.</p>

Slaughter feud. Gorilla Monsoon had no reservations about telling the Macho King that the only reason he won the Royal Rumble was because of the Drill Sargent, but Macho King fired back by saying that Hulk Hogan shouldn't have taken his eyes off of him (Macho King). Mean Gene also mentions that tonight's action took place this past week at the Mecca in Milwaukee, with Gorilla Monsoon saying that other than having to be around the Weasel, calling the action was great fun. Bobby Heenan retorted that his back was hurting because he had to carry "Ape Man."</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Demolition def. Dino Casanova with the Vader Bomb.</p><p> <strong>Grade: C</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The bell has rung, but Vader continues to attack Casanova, climbing the middle turnbuckle and crashing down on his chest with a second Vader Bomb. Vader is about top pick Casanova up for a Powerbomb, but Tugboat comes running down and stops Vader, who opts to let Casanova go and exit the ring while Tugboat checks on him.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The roundtable talked about what had just occurred, with everyone buzzing what a collision it would be if Vader and Tugboat were to hook it up. Bobby Heenan said that Vader would sink the Tugboat. Lord Alfred Hayes disagreed, saying that Vader has been bullying guys half his size, and now that someone his size stood up to him, he backed off. Macho King noted that Vader was just showing he was as smart as he was big, strong and mighty. Why waste his energy right then and there after using most of it destroying some scrub when he can fight Tugboat any night of the week. Mean Gene then throws it to the Event Center.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -To the Event Center we go, and Sean Mooney is hyping up WrestleMania VII. He talks about the main event pitting WWF World Heavyweight Champion, the Ultimate Warrior, against "Macho King" Randy Savage, and reminds the fans that to see that awesome main event, you have to call your local cable company and order it on Pay Per View. He also hyped up the WWF World Tag Team Title match pitting current champions, the Hart Foundation, against the team that earned the right to challenge them at Canadian Stampede in the Four Corners match, the Rockers. We then saw pre-recorded promos from both teams hyping the match up, with the Rockers saying "And this time, when we beat you, it will count in the record books."</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Razor Ramon def. The finish came when Haku and the Barbarian came down to ringside to distract the Nasty Boys. It should be noted that Ax of Demolition sat in on commentary.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The roundtable panel interview Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect via satellite. We find out that Mr. Perfect and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan demanded of President Jack Tunney that Perfect be able to defend his Intercontinental Title against Rick Rude, then complained about the stipulation Rude had Tunney put in about the Big Boss Man being the special guest referee. Perfect said that in the end, it didn't matter if everyone in the world that hated him were the referee, because he would still beat Rick Rude because Rude is not "Perfect." Rude simply smooched his lips to give a mock kiss to Perfect and Heenan.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Vince McMahon hosted the WrestleMania VII Report. He announced that Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter had signed a contract for what was being billed as a Desert Storm match, a match with no disqualifications, no count outs, and the competitors come dressed in military garb. The only way to win is by pinfall or submission. We then heard comments from both Hogan and Slaughter. We also heard pre-recorded comments from the Ultimate Warrior, "Macho King" Randy Savage and Sensational Queen Sherri, hyping the WWF World Title match that will be headlining WrestleMania. And we heard from the Big Boss Man and Bobby Heenan. Boss Man talked about how he was looking forward to serving the law and order to Mr. Perfect and Bobby Heenan after what the crime they committed at Canadian Stampede, with Bobby Heenan doing his usual complaining about Boss Man being named special guest referee.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -A six man tag match pitting "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka vs. Earthquake, Dino Bravo and the Mountie ended in Double DQ when the ref lost control as all six men were brawling inside the ring, with nobody going back to their corner.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/gaqxjX2.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Zw8yzOJ.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> -We see a video hyping the arrival of Terry Gordy and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams: The Miracle Violence Connection. We then cut back to the roundtable panel, who discuss the Gordy and Doc coming to the WWF. Bobby Heenan quipped, "I know those guys! They were the guys filling up my car at the gas station down the road!" Gorilla, offended by the Brain as always, shouted "WILL YOU STOP?!"</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Jake "The Snake" Roberts def. Barry Horowitz with the DDT. Rick Martel sat in on commentary.</p><p> <strong>Grade: C+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase def. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan with a roll up and held the tights after a distraction by Terry Taylor. Mike Sekulow was sitting in on commentary.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Rowdy Roddy Piper runs down to the ring and attacks the Million Dollar Man! Piper is punching away at him, but DiBiase barely manages to escape the ring.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We see a promo from William Regal, who's walking down the streets of New York City and is just utterly disgusted with what has become of America. "You know, you American swine fought for and won your independence from us over 200 years ago. Seeing what you have all become now, I'm GLAD you pigs won. You can keep your bloody independence."</p><p> <strong>Grade: D</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The panel discusses William Regal, with Mean Gene, Gorilla and Lord Alfred Hayes none too pleased with what he has had to say about America. Bobby Heenan and Macho King, however, felt that Regal had a great point, with "Macho King" Randy Savage saying if he had things his way, he would move to England because they respect royalty over there.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Hulk Hogan and "The Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich def. "Macho King" Randy Savage and Mr. Perfect after Hogan hit the Big Boot followed by the Big Leg Drop on Perfect thanks to distraction from Rick Rude.</p><p> <strong>Grade: A</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Overall Grade: B+</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">Right after the Prime Time Wrestling TV Taping, the WWF came to terms of the release of Bruce Prichard, aka Brother Love. While Brother Love had good chemistry as manager for Demolition, he wasn't getting the reactions that Vince McMahon was expecting. It is also said that Brother Love was pretty much just managing Demolition to give him something to do his Brother Love Show had started to bomb in recent weeks. Barry Horowitz and Rudy Boy Gonzalez when Butch pinned Horowitz after he and Luke hit the Battering Ram. Gorilla and Bobby noted how the Bushwhackers seem to be more aggressive after the beating they took from Vader at Canadian Stampede.</p><p> <strong>Grade: D</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We see a graphic of the Ultimate Warrior as Gorilla reminds us that Mean Gene will be interviewing him later tonight.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Gorilla lets us know that this past weekend, Rick "The Model" Martel was sitting in as a judge at a fashion show, and Lord Alfred Hayes caught up with him. We then go to the interview, where Alfred asks Martel about his recently announced match against Jake "The Snake" Roberts at WrestleMania VII. Martel talks about how unlike last time, at WrestleMania, he'll finish the job against Jake. Alfred then asks him if he's seen the fine print in the contract, but Martel blows him off and says that he doesn't care if the fine print says that Damien will be Jake's partner, because he will cut the head off the snake come WrestleMania.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Haku & the Barbarian and the Nasty Boys def. the Hart Foundation and the Rockers when Haku pinned Marty Jannetty. Bobby Heenan, who had been sitting at the broadcast table on commentary, got up and grabbed Jimmy Hart's megaphone while the ref was distracted with the Hart Foundation fighting outside with the Nasty Boys, then fighting with Shawn Michaels when he inadvertently hit Jim Neidhart with a super kick when Jerry Sags ducked. Heenan quickly tossed the megaphone in to Haku, who belted Marty Jannetty with it just as he turned around after knocking Barbarian down with a thrust kick. Haku tossed the megaphone to the outside and Heenan quickly ran over to tell the ref to turn around as Haku pinned Jannetty.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Vince McMahon is with "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, who's watching the proceedings live from his private hotel. His newest allies, Chris Jericho and Demolition, are watching as well, but they're pretty much in the background. McMahon asks DiBiase about this group he's formed, and DiBiase says he's been wanting to get his hands on Rowdy Roddy Piper after he cost him his most prized possession: his bodyguard. Now he's going to be searching for a new bodyguard. But in the meantime, he wants to get revenge on Piper, and he put his money together to buy the best team money could buy, and has challenged Piper to a 10-Man Tag Match at WrestleMania, telling Piper to find four guys who will want to team up with him.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The Orient Express def. Jim Powers and Dino Casanova when Kato pinned Jim Powers with a German Suplex after Tanaka super kicked him into said German Suplex.</p><p> <strong>Grade: D+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We go to a pre-recorded promo cut by Jake "The Snake" Roberts, who is sitting down in a very dark room, only lit by one candle, and all we can see is Jake. He talks about how when he was blind temporarily recently, at first he was desperate to regain his vision, and was worried he'd never see again. But then he grew to enjoy the darkness, and now he wants Rick Martel to experience that same darkness, which is why he made sure some fine print got added in the contract for their match at WrestleMania: the match will be a Blindfold Match!</p><p> <strong>Grade: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and Tito Santana def. Terry Taylor and Razor Ramon by DQ after Mike Sekulow blasted Duggan in the back with his halliburton briefcase as Duggan was running the ropes. Taylor and Ramon went to attack Santana, but Duggan cleared the ring with his 2x4.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We go to Sean Mooney for the WrestleMania Report. We hear Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter hype up their Desert Storm Match; Rick Rude, Big Boss Man, Mr. Perfect and Bobby Heenan hype up the Intercontinental Title match pitting Rude against Perfect with Boss Man as guest referee in pre-recorded promos; and we see a promo from William Regal, who says he'll be watching from a special VIP Section bought and paid for by "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, saying he's going to be scouting the competition. Sean Mooney announces the matches that have been signed thus far, and says there are still a few more to be added in the coming weeks.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We see a graphic hyping tonight's main event that Gorilla reminds us about: Rick Rude vs. Randy Savage.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Jimmy Snuka and Greg Valentine def. George Hines and Sam Houston when Snuka pinned Hines after a Superfly Splash.</p><p> <strong>Grade: C</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We see a graphic hyping the Ultimate Warrior interview, which Gorilla says is up next!</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Mean Gene Okerlund is in the ring with the Ultimate Warrior. Warrior says that for months, "Macho King" Randy Savage has been begging and pleading for this title match, and now he's going to get it thanks to his win at the Royal Rumble. But the Warrior says that he doesn't think it's right that Savage has begged for this match and has received and isn't putting anything up. Cue Randy Savage and Sensational Queen Sherri coming out to interrupt. Macho King says he doesn't care for the Ultimate Warrior's whining, but he's willing to hear him out. The Warrior then says that he's challenging the Macho King to put the Kingdom of the Madness on the line: Title vs. Career! The Ultimate Warrior's WWF World Heavyweight Championship against the career of the Macho King, and if Randy loses, he must retire. Macho King is thinking about, and Sherri talks it over with him. They nod their heads and Macho King tells the Warrior he's got a deal! All that's left is for President Jack Tunney to approve the added stipulation.</p><p> <strong>Grade: A</strong></p><p> </p><p> -"The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith def. The Mountie by DQ after the Mountie used his shock stick.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -It was apparent that the result of the match was of no consequence to the Mountie as his "shocking" attack was a setup for Dino Bravo and Earthquake to come down and, along with the Mountie, beat down Davey 3-on-1, with the Earthquake hitting Davey with an Earthquake Splash. However, Earthquake for some reason decides to only hit one Earthquake Splash, then leaves with his cohorts.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Mean Gene Okerlund has located Rowdy Roddy Piper outside the Manhattan Center, who's been signing autographs outside for the fans. Along with Piper are "The Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich, Owen Hart and the Legion of Doom, who are mostly in the background. Gene asks Piper about DiBiase's challenge, and Piper says he accepts, and he has found his partners. Piper talks about how Kerry Von Erich hasn't forgotten how Ted DiBiase helped Mr. Perfect steal the Intercontinental Title from him; he talks about how Owen Hart is looking to shut that loudmouth Chris Jericho up once and for all; and the Legion of Doom are itching to finish the job against Demolition.</p><p> <strong>Grade: A*</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The Undertaker def. Tugboat by a count out when Tugboat got distracted with Vader standing in the aisle and ran out to go fight him, and the two big men brawled all the way to the back.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Back from commercial break, and Mean Gene is now back inside and in the ring, ready to interview Slick and his team of Power & Glory. They talk about how it's not fair what happened to them at Canadian Stampede and they have an open challenge for WrestleMania to prove their worth in the tag team division. Terry Gordy and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams of the Miracle Violence Connection come out, and they tell Slick and his clients, Hercules and Paul Roma, that they accept their open challenge. Slick and Power & Glory are more than happy to oblige, and it looks like things are about to get heated, but a team of officials quickly rush in as cooler heads prevail.</p><p> <strong>Grade: C+</strong></p><p> </p><p> -We see a graphic hyping the main event of Randy Savage vs. Rick Rude, which Gorilla says is up next!</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> -"Macho King" Randy Savage def. <p>I know that you plan to use El Dandy as a jobber.</p><p> </p><p>

But what was the point of giving the Brooklyn Brawler a victory? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> He's supposed to be a jobber too.</p>

Brooklyn Brawler is autopushing to Lower Midcarder right now, so I figured why not give him an occasional win over guys who will be jobbers for life, especially against jobbers who have good basics and psychology since Brawler for whatever reason is very low in the psychology department. I know he's no Jake Roberts, but considering he would go on to become a road agent, I would've thought he'd at least be C+, lol. But at the same time, it makes for a good challenge. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> So in the future, if you see a jobber get an odd win, chances are he autopushed to Lower Midcarder and I decided "Eh, why not?" Though if this happens, it'll usually only be in dark matches or on B shows.

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><strong>Wrestling Observer Newsletter</strong></span></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">The upset victory of "Brooklyn Brawler" Steve Lombardi over El Dandy was a hot topic among those backstage at the first ever Monday Night Raw event with matches taped for Prime Time Wrestling. However, El Dandy didn't seem to have any problem with it, and was more than happy to help Brooklyn Brawler with his in-ring psychology.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Vince McMahon is said to be thrilled with how the first ever Monday Night Raw came off, and everyone really seemed to enjoy the unpredictability of a live show. The fans in attendance seemed to enjoy the projector screens hung on each balcony that showed not only the action inside the ring, but also the pre-taped segments such as the Event Center, pre-taped promos like the one Jake "The Snake" Roberts cut on Rick Martel, as well as anything that happened outside the building, such as Mean Gene interviewing Roddy Piper with his WrestleMania team standing in the background. It is said that Vince McMahon didn't mind the extra cost of purchasing projector screens because he wants the fans in attendance to get the maximum enjoyment that the fans watching on TV at home receive.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Meanwhile, the WWF has allowed the contracts of "Superfly" Jimmy Sunka and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine to expire. It is said their victory on Monday Night Raw was more to try and keep Snuka happy in case the WWF ever wants to do business with him in the future. Look for the WWF to start bringing in some younger talent and put more focus on younger talent. However, it is said they don't plan on pushing older veterans out the door unless they just have nothing else to contribute anymore.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

In news from around the world of wrestling, the infamous Cowboy Bill Watts has purchased Pacific Northwest Wrestling after former owner Don Owen decided to leave the wrestling business and put his Portland, Oregon based territory up for sale. And Smokey Mountain Wrestling has been a hot topic of conversation, but for all the wrong reasons. Owner and head booker Jim Cornette has released quite a handful of talents, including: Paul Orndorff, Robert Gibson, Bobby Fulton, Rip Rogers, Tim Horner, "Hollywood" Bob Holly, "Prime Time" Brian Lee and Vladimir Koloff. While it's apparent that Cornette unloaded Orndorff, Gibson, Fulton, Rogers and Horner to make way for younger talent, it was quite puzzling as to why he let go of Holly and Lee as well. Rumors are floating about that Holly may have been trouble backstage, and that Lee may not have been a good fit for the direction Smokey Mountain is going for. It's also been said that Vladimir Koloff was let go because his in-ring skills were atrocious and didn't look to be getting any better.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

And finally, independent wrestler Rob Van Dam recently went on a local radio show in Battle Creek, Michigan and talked about how he and Jeff Jarrett haven't been getting along. At first, the hosts thought he was kayfabing in order to hype a feud against Jarrett, but Van Dam has revealed that Jarrett didn't care for his in-ring work and called him sloppy, which Van Dam apparently took exception to. More on this as it develops.</span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p>

Speak of the devil, here come Ax, Smash and Crush, as if on cue. Demolition tell LOD that for years, they've heard fans taunt them by calling them "Road Warrior wannabes," which Ax said made them sick. Smash chimed in and said that they hate hearing garbage like that because if they wanted to be LOD, they would have worn goofy looking football shoulder pads with rubber spikes that wouldn't hurt a two year old, which seemed to really get under the skin of Animal and Hawk. Regal says as much as he would love to still be in the UK, he felt that he needed to come here to the WWF to teach the American fans how to have respect for wrestling like the fans in the UK have. Regal then went on a rant about how ever since he's arrived in the WWF, he's been disgusted with the abhorrent and disgusting behavior of not just the American fans, but of some of the WWF wrestlers.</p><p> </p><p> "Take Ultimate Warrior, for instance. This guy just runs down to the ring and doesn't care if he tramples over innocent camera men. You've got that oversized swine, Hulk Hogan, who thinks he's strong because he can rip a shirt. Regal slapped Piper, prompting the Hot Rod to lay him out with a right hand. Piper went down and started punching away at Regal, but here came the Million Dollar Man, hitting Piper with a running knee to the head.
