In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Alicia Fox defeated Sexy Star in 17:33 by pinfall with a Watch Yo Face. <strong>Pre-Show: Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu versus Hunico and Camacho</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Trent & Yoshi defeated Hunico & Camacho in 17:40 when Trent Barreta defeated Camacho by pinfall with a Gobstopper Knee. Unfortunately this match was too long given who was involved as Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu are still not very popular among the WWE Universe despite teaming up for several months now. Trent won the match for his team here after pinning Camacho following his trademark Gobstopper Knee.</p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: Ted DiBiase versus Byron Saxton</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Ted DiBiase defeated Byron Saxton in 18:04 by pinfall with a Dream Street. Ted DiBiase finally made his return from injury tonight but the match was far too long given who was involved as the WWE Universe do not really know by Byron Saxton is despite him formerly being an announcer on NXT.</p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Team CoBro defeated The Ascension in 8:02 when Santino Marella defeated Kenneth Cameron by submission with a Cobra Clutch. The WWE Superstars commentary team of Josh Mathews, Joey Styles and Matt Striker use this match to discuss Santino Marella and Zack Ryder’s respective chances in the Royal Rumble match. Santino won the match for his team here after forcing Kenneth Cameron to submit to the Cobra Clutch.</p><p>

<em>Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs the RAW rebound which recaps events from this past week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. The show began with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring to boos from the WWE Universe in attendance. Punk claimed that the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero is still not giving him good enough competition following her booking Punk in the main event of the evening in non-title action against Santino Marella. Brock Lesnar then joined Punk in the ring and claimed that he would win the Royal Rumble match later this month and that Lesnar and Punk are the most dominating alliance in the WWE due to the associations that both men have with Paul Heyman. Chris Jericho was also in action later in the evening as he defeated William Regal. Prior to the main event the Rock came to the ring and proclaimed that at the Royal Rumble he will defeat CM Punk to become the new WWE Champion. The main event saw CM Punk, with Paul Heyman accompanying him to ringside, victorious over Santino Marella.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tamina versus Rosa Mendes</strong></p><p>

In an extremely short match, Tamina defeated Rosa Mendes in 3:14 by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. The WWE Superstars commentary team of Josh Mathews, Joey Styles and Matt Striker note that Tamina will likely be watching the Divas title match at the Royal Rumble very closely as Kaitlyn will put her title on the line against Paige.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C-</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<em>Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs highlights from this past week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The show began with Randy Orton making his way to the ring much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance. Orton said that he was disappointed that the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T had not given him a match on the show, but proclaimed that he will win the Royal Rumble match later this month and go on to Wrestlemania to finally become World Heavyweight Champion once again. The Big Show then came to the ring and claimed that he would be the one to win the Royal Rumble match and then knocked Orton out with a Knockout Punch. Later on in the evening as Sheamus was preparing for the evening’s tag team main event when he would team with Kofi Kingston to take on the World Champion Alberto Del Rio and the Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, Sheamus was attacked by Ricardo Rodriguez and Wade Barrett as Del Rio looked on. Before the main event Booker T announced that he has fired his assistant Theodore Long and in the evening’s main event Del Rio and Barrett defeated Sheamus and Kingston. A tweet is then shown from Booker T announcing that tomorrow night’s main event will see Del Rio team with the Miz to take on the team of Sheamus and Kofi Kingston.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Christian versus Jinder Mahal</strong></p><p>

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Christian defeated Jinder Mahal in 8:08 by pinfall with a Killswitch. Layla accompanied Christian to ringside and offered Christian vocal support throughout tonight’s WWE Superstars main event. The support of Layla may have led to Christian picking up the win over 3MB member Mahal.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Post-Show: Jay Briscoe versus Leo Kruger</strong></p><p>

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Jay Briscoe defeated Leo Kruger in 13:08 by pinfall with a Double Underhook Piledriver. Unfortunately this match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved, as the WWE Universe still doesn’t know much about Leo Kruger despite him spending several months on NXT last year.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: E</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Briley Pierce defeated Inaomichi Marufuji in 12:40 by pinfall with a Zig Zag. This match brought the crowd’s mood down as Briley Pierce has only recently been called up to the main roster following several months spent in NXT.</p><p>

<p><strong>Friday, Week 3, January, 2013</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>World Champion Alberto Del Rio and The Miz versus Sheamus and Kofi Kingston</strong></p><p>

The main event of tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown will see the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio teaming up with the former WWE Champion the Miz to take on the team of Sheamus and Kofi Kingston. This match was announced earlier this week by a tweet sent out by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. The WWE Universe will be able to see the team of Sheamus and Kofi Kingston teaming up for the second week in a row after the pair teamed up in last week’s SmackDown tag team main event in a losing effort against the team of Alberto Del Rio and the WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. Ricardo Rodriguez, Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, will likely accompany Alberto Del Rio to ringside tonight and was the main reason that Booker T was forced to fire his assistant Theodore Long last week on SmackDown as earlier in the evening Theodore Long had announced that Ricardo Rodriguez would not be able to accompany Del Rio to ringside in last week’s main event, and if he did then Del Rio would be stripped of the World Heavyweight Championship. Booker T would later come to the ring prior to the main event and announce that Theodore Long did not have the authority to make a stipulation like that, and that Ricardo Rodriguez was able to accompany Del Rio to ringside. Booker T then begrudgingly announced that due to Theodore Long’s actions and last of respect towards Booker T’s authority, he had been fired. Needless to say, we will not be seeing Theodore Long tonight on SmackDown or on any other WWE programming for the foreseeable future. Sheamus and Kofi Kingston made a good team last week, despite ultimately losing last week’s main event after Del Rio pinned Sheamus, the Number One Contender to Alberto Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View later this month. The Miz and Kofi Kingston will also be opponents at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View later this month as they will both challenge Wade Barrett for the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat match. Sheamus and Kofi Kingston are both popular among the WWE Universe and were seen together backstage last week discussing tactics before the evening’s tag team main event. Later in the evening, however, Sheamus was alone in the locker-room when he was ambushed by Ricardo Rodriguez and then attacked by the Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. Alberto Del Rio looked on with a smile on his face as Wade Barrett through Sheamus into a locker, sufficiently weakening him so that Del Rio was able to capitalise and pin Sheamus to win last week’s tag team main event. It was in controversial circumstances that Alberto Del Rio won the World Heavyweight Championship from the former Champion Sheamus in the main event of last month’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View as Del Rio defeated Sheamus in the evening’s Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Chains main event match by climbing the ladder and retrieving the Championship belt whilst Ricardo Rodriguez held onto Sheamus to stop him from intervening.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No versus Prime Time Players</strong></p><p>

Also tonight on Friday Night SmackDown the WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No, comprised of Daniel Bryan and Kane, will be in action as they will take on the Prime Time Players pairing of Darren Young and Titus O’Neil in a non-title match. The Prime Time Players will likely be accompanied to the ring by their manager Abraham Washington, the leader and founder of All World Promotions.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett versus R-Truth</strong></p><p>

The WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett will be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as he will take on the unpredictable R-Truth in a non-title match. R-Truth is very popular among the WWE Universe and will be looking to pick up an all-important victory over Barrett tonight just nine days before Wade Barrett will put the Intercontinental Championship on the line in a Triple Threat match against both the Miz and Kofi Kingston at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rey Mysterio vs. Friday Night SmackDown’s Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler</strong></p><p>

Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler will also be in action tonight on SmackDown as he will take on the former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio. Both of these Superstars will be competing in the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View later this month.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Christian versus Mark Henry</strong></p><p>

Two former World Heavyweight Champions will go head to head tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as the “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry will take on “Captain Charisma” Christian. The WWE Universe is sure to be treated to a great match when these two go one on one with Mark Henry looking to make yet another statement ahead of the Royal Rumble match later this month.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Portia Perez</strong></p><p>

Finally, the WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn will be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as she will take on newcomer Portia Perez. Kaitlyn will put her Divas Championship on the line for the first time at the Royal Rumble as she will take on Paige but before then she will face Portia Perez in non-title action tonight. The WWE Universe saw Kaitlyn finally achieve her dream last month at the TLC Pay-Per-View when she defeated the former WWE Divas Champion Eve to become the new Divas Champion for the very first time.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Quick Picks:</strong> </p><p>

<strong>WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (Live from Carver-Hawkeye Arena (IO), 15,500 in Attendance)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: Tamina versus Rosa Mendes</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Tamina defeated Rosa Mendes in 18:02 by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. Unfortunately this match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved, as Rosa Mendes does not compete much recently since primarily being the manager of Primo and Epico and Rosa Mendes has only competed in a few matches on Friday Night SmackDown in the past four or five months. Tamina picked up the all-important victory in this one.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: The Uso’s versus Team Rhodes Scholars</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Team Rhodes Scholars defeated The Uso's in 18:23 when Cody Rhodes defeated Jey Uso by pinfall with a Cross Rhodes. Twin brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso once again showed excellent chemistry when teaming together but were unable to pick up the win here as Cody Rhodes won the match for his team after pinning Jey Uso following the Cross Rhodes.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: Sin Cara versus Jinder Mahal</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Sin Cara defeated Jinder Mahal in 18:10 by pinfall with a La Mística. This match was also too long given who was involved as neither Sin Cara nor 3MB member Jinder Mahal have competed in too many matches on Friday Night SmackDown as of late. Sin Cara picked up the win here.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Friday Night SmackDown begins with the largest athlete in the World, the Big Show, making his way to the ring to boos from the WWE Universe in attendance. The Big Show takes a microphone from the ringside area and brags about how last week he knocked out Randy Orton but General Manager Booker T has still decided not to give him a match tonight on SmackDown. The Big Show says that he will have to be given matches after next Sunday when he wins the Royal Rumble match. The Big Show proclaims that he will go on to Wrestlemania to become the new World Heavyweight Champion once again. The Big Show says that his last reign as World Heavyweight Champion was over a year ago and ended in controversial circumstances after Daniel Bryan cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. The Big Show says that 2013 will be his year, and after winning the Royal Rumble, becoming the World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania he will dominate. Randy Orton’s music then plays and the Big Show turns his attention to the entrance-way only for Randy Orton to make his way to the ring through the crowd. Orton poises behind the Big Show and when Big Show turns around Orton hits him with an RKO. Orton then poses over the Big Show as SmackDown heads to a commercial break.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: A</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Portia Perez</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Kaitlyn defeated Portia Perez in 5:50 by pinfall with an Atomic Wedgie Bomb. The WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn seemed off her game tonight but was still able to pick up the non-title victory over newcomer Portia Perez.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Following Kaitlyn’s victory the WWE Divas Champion celebrates in the ring in front of the WWE Universe before Eve, the former Divas Champion and Paige, the Number One Contender to the Divas title at the Royal Rumble, make their way to the ring. It looks as though Eve and Paige are going to attack Kaitlyn until Layla once again rushes to the ring to make the save. Eve and Paige flee the ring and head to the back as Kaitlyn and Layla stare at one another with clear signs of respect between the two.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: D+</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No versus Prime Time Players</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Team Hell No defeated Prime Time Players in 8:24 when Daniel Bryan defeated Titus O'Neil by submission with Repeated Elbow Strikes to The Head. Abraham Washington accompanied both Darren Young and Titus O’Neil to ringside for this non-title match and offered vocal support to the Prime Time Players throughout the match but it was the WWE Tag Team Champions who picked up the win after Daniel Bryan forced Titus O’Neil to tap out after repeatedly elbowing him in the head.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>We cut backstage to find Ricardo Rodriguez walking into the locker-room of Sheamus. Rodriguez shouts at Sheamus in Spanish before the Miz rushes into the room and pushes Sheamus into the lockers. Del Rio then walks into the room smiling and Del Rio, the Miz and Ricardo flee the scene.</em></p><p>

<p><strong>Monday, Week 4, January, 2013</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW: </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Champion CM Punk versus Zack Ryder</strong></p><p>

The main event of tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW will see the WWE Champion CM Punk in action as he will take on the former WWE Tag Team Champion and former WWE United States Champion Zack Ryder in singles competition. This non-title match was announced over the weekend by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero via a tweet sent out by Vickie. In the past few weeks CM Punk has heavily criticised Vickie Guerrero for what he calls the lack of competition in the matches he has been given as of late. The WWE Universe have not taken too well to CM Punk’s lack of respect towards his fellow Superstars however one can not argue with the WWE Champion’s success rate. CM Punk has held the WWE Championship since defeating the former Champion Alberto Del Rio for the title in November of 2011 at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View and CM Punk is therefore the longest reigning WWE Champion of the past twenty-five years. CM Punk has held the WWE Championship for an almost unprecedented fourteen months thus far and in his most recent title defence at last month’s TLC Pay-Per-View CM Punk defeated both John Cena and Ryback to once again retain the WWE Championship in what was a highly competitive Triple Threat match. CM Punk won the Triple Threat match at the TLC Pay-Per-View by forcing Ryback to submit to the Anaconda Vice and in the process injuring the arm of Ryback so severely that Ryback has not competed since. Ryback will return to action this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View when he will join twenty-nine other WWE Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match. As well as being the first Superstar to force Ryback to submit, CM Punk was also the first Superstar to pin Ryback after CM Punk pinned Ryback last October at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View when Punk defeated Ryback in the evening’s Hell in a Cell main event match to once again retain his WWE Championship. CM Punk’s next title defence comes this Sunday at the Royal Rumble when he will put the WWE Championship on the line against the former seven-time WWE Champion the Rock, who last held the WWE Championship in August of 2002, eleven years ago. The Rock has been at Monday Night RAW for the past few weeks to scout his opponent this Sunday CM Punk and the Rock has proclaimed on several occasions that he will defeat CM Punk this Sunday to once again become the new WWE Champion. The last time both CM Punk and the Rock were in the same ring together was back at RAW 1000 last July when CM Punk hit the Rock with a Clothesline followed by the Go to Sleep, which triggered Jerry “The King” Lawler to famously comment that CM Punk had “turned his back on the WWE Universe”. The Rock has only competed twice in the past twelve months, defeating John Cena in the main event of last year’s Wrestlemania and beating Kassius Ohno last month at the TLC Pay-Per-View.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose</strong></p><p>

Also tonight on Monday Night RAW we will see tag team action as for the second week in a row two newly formed tag teams will square off in a rematch of last week’s show as Richie Steamboat will team up with Fatsuhiko Nakajima, a pairing that were last week introduced as the “Oriental Dragons”, to take on the team of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, who were victorious last week. We saw the Godfather backstage last week claiming that he was going to ask Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero to give the Oriental Dragons another match tonight and it appears as though Vickie has agreed.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro versus The Road Dogg</strong></p><p>

This Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View the WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro will join twenty-nine other WWE Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown in the Royal Rumble match but tonight on RAW Cesaro will take on a legend and member of D-Generation X, the Road Dogg, in non-title action. The Road Dogg is a member of Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero’s backstage staff and this will be his first match on RAW in several years.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Jericho versus William Regal</strong></p><p>

The first ever WWE Undisputed Champion, Chris Jericho, will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as Y2J will take on a fellow veteran in the crafty William Regal. Jericho, ever popular among the WWE Universe, will be competing in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View along with twenty-nine other Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown. This is a rematch from last week’s edition of RAW when Jericho defeated Regal. Since giving an opportunity to return to active competition on RAW by the RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero, William Regal is yet to pick up an all-important victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mason Ryan versus Chavo Guerrero</strong></p><p>

The Welsh powerhouse known as Mason Ryan will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as he will take on Chavo Guerrero, the nephew of Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Emma versus Sexy Star</strong></p><p>

Finally, Divas action tonight on Monday Night RAW will see the dancing Australian Diva known as Emma in action as she will take on Sexy Star. Emma has endeared herself to the WWE Universe in recent months following attacks by Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero’s lackeys Beth Phoenix and Natalya.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Quick Picks:</strong> </p><p>

Non-Title: WWE Champion CM Punk versus Zack Ryder</p><p>

WWE Monday Night RAW (Live from Carver-Hawkeye Arena (IO), 15,500 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Alex Riley versus Tensai

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Tensai defeated Alex Riley in 18:29 by pinfall with a Corner Splash. Sakamoto accompanied Tensai to ringside for this one and offered vocal support to Tensai throughout the match in Japanese which led to Tensai picking up the all-important victory.

Match Rating: B-

Pre-Show: Brodus Clay versus Jack Swagger

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Jack Swagger defeated Brodus Clay in 17:44 by pinfall with a Gutwrench Powerbomb. The much larger Brodus Clay was visibly tiring towards the end of this match which led to the former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger using his superior conditioning to pick up the win.

Match Rating: C+

Pre-Show: Santino Marella versus Byron Saxton

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Santino Marella defeated Byron Saxton in 18:20 by pinfall with a Diving Headbutt. Unfortunately this match was far too long given who was involved with the WWE Universe not knowing much at all about Byron Saxton despite Byron Saxton working as an announcer on NXT for the past few months as the sole announcer.

Match Rating: E

Monday Night RAW kicks off with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring to boos from the WWE Universe in attendance. Punk is quick to retrieve a microphone from the ringside area and proclaim that he is still not happy with the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero due to the lack of competition he is being given on RAW. Punk says that he will easily defeat Zack Ryder in tonight’s non-title main event and then go on to defeat the Rock this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View to once again retain his WWE Championship. CM Punk says that even though Zack Ryder is not the calibre of opponent that Punk should be facing, he is at least getting a warm-up match before this Sunday whereas the Rock hasn’t wrestled since he defeated Kassius Ohno at the TLC Pay-Per-View last month. Brock Lesnar then joins CM Punk in the ring and Lesnar declares that he will win the Royal Rumble match this Sunday, proving that he and Punk are the most dominant force in the WWE due to the associations that both men have with who Brock Lesnar calls the genius of Paul Heyman. Punk and Lesnar then shake hands and head to the back together as RAW heads to a commercial break.

Rating: B

Emma versus Sexy Star

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Emma defeated Sexy Star in 5:40 by pinfall with a Roaring Elbow. The Monday Night RAW commentary team of Michael Cole, Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler note that this is the first time that Emma and Sexy Star have faced one another.

Match Rating: E-

Following Emma’s victory Kelly Kelly comes to the ring to celebrate with her until Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero comes to the ring flanked by Beth Phoenix and Natalya. Beth and Natalya look as though they are going to attack Emma and Kelly until AJ Lee rushes to the ring and charges at Vickie. Beth and Natalya manage to get Vickie out of harms way and the trio head up the ramp to the entrance-way where they are joined by Kharma, who stares at Kelly, Emma and AJ in the ring.

Rating: C

Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Reigns & Ambrose defeated The Oriental Dragons in 5:45 when Dean Ambrose defeated Richie Steamboat by pinfall with a Double Powerbomb. The Godfather accompanied Steamboat and Nakajima to ringside but his presence was not enough to lead them to victory here as Ambrose pinned Richie Steamboat following a Double Powerbomb.

Match Rating: D

John Cena comes to the ring and proclaims that this Sunday he will win the Royal Rumble match and go on to challenge either CM Punk or the Rock for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, which leads to AJ Lee coming to the ring and asking Cena why he isn’t helping her in her battle with Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Cena says he needs to focus on his career and leaves AJ alone in the ring.

Rating: C

Non-Title: WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro versus The Road Dogg

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Antonio Cesaro defeated The Road Dogg in 7:34 by pinfall with a Springboard Swiss Uppercut. Cesaro and the Road Dogg have great chemistry as opponents and it showed in their performances.

Match Rating: C

We cut backstage to find Santino Marella, Brodus Clay and Alex Riley offering vocal support to Zack Ryder prior to his main event non-title match with the WWE Champion CM Punk.

Rating: C

Chris Jericho versus William Regal

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Chris Jericho defeated William Regal in 8:07 by pinfall with a Lionsault. This was a good victory for Jericho heading into the Royal Rumble match this Sunday.

Match Rating: B-

The WWE Universe gets to their feet as the glass shatters and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin makes his way to the ring. Austin says it’s great to be on RAW but before he can say anything else Kassius Ohno sneaks into the ring and hits Austin with a fore-arm to the back of the skull, seemingly knocking him unconscious.

Rating: B-

Mason Ryan versus Chavo Guerrero

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Mason Ryan defeated Chavo Guerrero in 7:10 by pinfall with a Batista Bomb. The Monday Night RAW commentary team note that Mason Ryan may be a dark horse in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday.

Match Rating: D+

The Rock comes to the ring much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance prior to the main event and proclaims that this Sunday he will defeat CM Punk to become the new WWE Champion.

Rating: A

Non-Title: WWE Champion CM Punk versus Zack Ryder

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, CM Punk defeated Zack Ryder in 7:47 by pinfall with a Roundhouse Kick. Punk and Ryder have pretty good chemistry as opponents and it lifted the match.

Match Rating: C+

Monday Night RAW goes off the air with the WWE Champion CM Punk celebrating in the ring with Paul Heyman following his non-title main event victory over Zack Ryder.

Rating: B

Post-Show: John Cena versus Corey Graves

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, John Cena defeated Corey Graves in 18:02 by submission with a STF. This match was too long given who was involved as the WWE Universe are not that into Corey Graves.

Match Rating: D+

Backstage Fallout: JTG, Michael McGuillicutty, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Peter Orlov and Mike Dalton are discussing who they think will win the Royal Rumble match this Sunday and who will win the main event between CM Punk and the Rock when Ryback walks in and the room falls silent.

<p><strong>Tuesday, Week 4, January, 2013</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://wrestlingnewsandviews.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/nxt.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE NXT:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>Rick Victor versus Bray Wyatt</strong></p><p>

The main event of tonight’s edition of NXT will see the dark and mysterious leader of the “Family”, Bray Wyatt, in action as he will take on Rick Victor. Since unveiling his family members of Julius Smokes and Joey Matthews, Bray Wyatt has claimed that he is deserving of a shot at the NXT Championship and for the past several weeks on NXT Bray Wyatt has attacked the reigning NXT Champion Seth Rollins. With an all-important victory tonight inside what is sure to be a sold out NXT Arena in front of the NXT Universe in attendance, Bray Wyatt may well move one step closer to a Championship match. NXT Commissioner and WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes has given the NXT Champion Seth Rollins a night off tonight as Rollins will not be in action, so Bray Wyatt will be hoping to impress Dusty Rhodes by convincingly defeating Rick Victor in the main event. It was three weeks ago on NXT that we were introduced to the Family members, with Joey Matthews first of all proclaiming that although he was a former WWE Tag Team Champion, when he suffered a near career ending injury he was offered no support by the WWE despite suffering a serious facial injury performing in front of the WWE Universe. Joey Matthews claimed that after having to end his career due to not being given the opportunities he wished for and not willing to sacrifice his body on the independent circuit in front of only dozens of fans, he went into a state of depression until Bray Wyatt found him, consoled him, told him to follow the buzzards and offered him a new way of life. Similarly, the other Family member Julius Smokes told the NXT Universe that he was stuck in a life of crime, being a gangster on the streets and involved in some shady scenarios and characters until he was saved by Bray Wyatt, who took him off the streets and offered him a place at Wyatt’s proverbial table as a part of the family. Both Joey Matthews and Julius Smokes claimed that they would do whatever it takes to get Bray Wyatt firstly to the NXT Championship and secondly to the promised land of the WWE. Both Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T will surely have taken notice of Bray Wyatt and the family and another all-important victory in tonight’s NXT main event will only move him closer towards his first aim of a shot at the NXT Championship. On the same night that Joey Matthews and Julius Smokes introduced themselves as members of the family, Bray Wyatt attacked the NXT Champion Seth Rollins in the ring until Percy Watson made the save. Bray Wyatt would then win the main event on NXT three weeks ago over Marcus Owens, who was making his NXT debut. Bray Wyatt was accompanied to the ring on that night by both Julius Smokes and Joey Matthews and will likely have the family at ringside against Rick Victor tonight on NXT. Two weeks ago Bray Wyatt once again attacked the NXT Champion Seth Rollins in the ring and the pair got into a brawl that had to be separated by NXT officials, and the same thing happened once again just last week on NXT.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PAC and Eli Cottonwood versus Xavier Woods and Alexander Rusev</strong></p><p>

Tag team action tonight on NXT will see the “Man that Gravity Forgot” from Newcastle, England, PAC in action as he teams with the large and intimidating figure of Eli Cottonwood to take on the team of Xavier Woods and the big man from Russia known as Alexander Rusev. All four of these NXT competitors will be looking for a good performance in front of what is sure to be a sold out NXT Arena and to show the NXT Universe what they are capable of in the ring. As well as trying to impress the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, all four competitors will also be aware that both Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T regularly watch on NXT looking for the next break out star to perform in front of the WWE Universe. Although being an impressive looking athlete, Alexander Rusev is yet to string any victories together on NXT and three weeks ago lost to Percy Watson. Last week on NXT Rusev once again lost as he was defeated by the NXT Champion Seth Rollins in a non-title match. Alexander Rusev will be hoping that he can have more luck tonight on NXT as he teams with Xavier Woods, who has been showing a more aggressive side as of late on NXT.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Audrey Marie versus Maxine</strong></p><p>

Finally, Divas action tonight on NXT will see the “Original Diva” Maxine in action as she will take on the Diva who frankly, is seen by many as a bit of a bitch in Maxine. The NXT Universe inside the jam packed NXT Arena will likely be firmly behind Audrey Marie in this match as the Original Diva will go all out for a victory to impress the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes as well as the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T who will also be on the lookout for Divas to bolster the WWE Divas division and get a chance to perform in front of the WWE Universe. Last week Audrey Marie defeated Maxine in tag team action as Audrey Marie and Naomi defeated Maxine and Raquel Diaz.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Quick Picks:</strong> </p><p>

Rick Victor versus Bray Wyatt</p><p>

PAC and Eli Cottonwood versus Xavier Woods and Alexander Rusev</p><p>

<strong>WWE NXT (Live from Townsend Livestock Pavilion (FL), 1,300 in Attendance)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Audrey Marie versus Maxine</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Maxine defeated Audrey Marie in 7:33 by pinfall with a Crossbody. This week’s edition of NXT, coming to us live from a sold out NXT Arena, kicks off with NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes as the sole announcer and introducing tag team action as Audrey Marie, known as the “Original Diva” and always popular amongst the NXT Universe, in action as she took on the Diva that is known by many as a bit of a bitch in Maxine. Both of these Divas put in a good showing as they look to impress any potential WWE management personnel that may be tuning into NXT such as the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero or the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Both of these Divas would one day love the opportunity to perform in front of the WWE Universe as a part of what is already a highly competitive Divas division but tonight their main aim was to pick up an all-important victory in NXT’s opening contest. It was Maxine who managed to pick up the win here after hitting Audrey Marie with a Crossbody from the top rope.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: E+</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<em>Caylee Turner makes her way to the ring following a commercial break to a decent reaction from the NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena. The NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes notes on commentary during Caylee Turner’s entrance that Caylee Turner is the younger sister of the former WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox. Once in the ring Caylee Turner retrieves a microphone from the ringside area and proclaims that she would love to one day follow in her sister’s footsteps and compete on either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. She says that if Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero or Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T then they should pay attention to her, because Caylee says that just as her sister is, she knows that she can be a success when put on the big stage in front of the bright lights and with the WWE Universe watching. Caylee Turner says that unfortunately three weeks ago on NXT, on the first episode of NXT of 2013, she lost to Maxine. Caylee says that she had hoped for a better start to the year. Caylee Turner says that she has not been given a match on NXT since her loss to Maxine three weeks ago and that is why she came to the ring at the start of the show last week, only to be interrupted by the arrogant Vanessa Harding who was making her NXT debut. Caylee Turner says that last week on NXT not only did Vanessa Harding disrespect her but she also disrespected her sister Alicia Fox and in turn disrespected her entire family. Caylee says that she is not proud of herself for getting into the brawl with Vanessa Harding last week on NXT but she would do it again if her family’s name was being insulted. Turner continues that if NXT officials did not come to the ring to separate her and Vanessa Harding last week then she doesn’t know what might have happened. Julius Smokes, one third of the Wyatt Family, then comes to the ring and takes a microphone of his own. Julius tells Caylee Turner that several months ago Bray Wyatt offered Maxine a position in the Wyatt Family, but Maxine did not feel ready to follow the buzzards. Smokes tells Caylee that Maxine’s loss can be her gain, and offers Caylee Turner a spot in the family. Julius Smokes continues that Maxine may have beaten Caylee Turner three weeks ago on NXT, and Maxine may have been victorious again over Audrey Marie earlier tonight but that Caylee Turner can have the last laugh, and all of the success in the universe if she joins Julius Smokes, Joey Matthews and the leader, the forgiver of sins and the ender of worlds, Bray Wyatt in the matrimony and unity that the family brings. Caylee Turner looks uncomfortable at the proposal from Julius Smokes and Smokes tells Maxine that he is a brother, and Caylee is a sister. Julius Smokes says that unlike those in power, Bray Wyatt does not discriminate. Caylee continues to look even more uncomfortable and Julius Smokes tells her to watch Bray Wyatt in action in tonight’s main event against Rick Victor and to make her decision in the coming weeks. Julius Smokes says that Bray Wyatt is going to cause pain and suffering to Rick Victor tonight and to show the world just what he is capable of. Caylee turner nods her head and heads to the back as NXT cuts to another commercial break.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PAC and Eli Cottonwood versus Xavier Woods and Alexander Rusev</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, PAC and Eli Cottonwood versus Xavier Woods and Alexander Rusev ended in a no contest in 7:40 after the referee lost control of the match. The NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena were firmly behind PAC and Eli Cottonwood for this match that got more and more aggressive and physical until Eli Cottonwood and Alexander Rusev brawled outside the ring as did PAC and Xavier Woods and the referee eventually had to ring the bell as he lost control of the match.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rick Victor versus Bray Wyatt</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Bray Wyatt defeated Rick Victor in 8:04 by pinfall with a Piledriver. Tonight’s NXT main event saw Bray Wyatt, accompanied by his Wyatt Family members Joey Matthews and Julius Smokes, in action against Rick Victor. The NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena were in support of Victor throughout the match but unfortunately it ended in tragedy for Rick Victor as Wyatt hit him with a devastating Piledriver to claim the victory.</p><p>

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Superstars:

Rey Mysterio versus Jinder Mahal

The main event on tonight’s edition of WWE Superstars will see the high-flying former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio in singles action as he will take on one third of the three man band known as 3MB, India’s own Jinder Mahal. With Jinder Mahal in singles action one can only assume that his fellow 3MB members, the “One Man Rock Band” Heath Slater and the “Chosen One” from Ayr, Scotland, Drew McIntyre will not be too far away. Individually the careers of Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre were slightly floundering last year before the trio took the WWE Universe by storm by forming 3MB on an episode of Monday Night RAW last year. Since then 3MB have had more of an impact as a group than they were as singles competitiors. Despite being in the WWE for a few years now, Jinder Mahal is still yet to hold Championship gold in the WWE and will be hoping that an all-important victory over Rey Mysterio tonight on WWE Superstars will catch the attentions of both Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. The Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View is this Sunday and Jinder Mahal’s opponent this evening, Rey Mysterio, is already confirmed to be taking part in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match, with the winner getting the opportunity to challenge for either the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania. Rey Mysterio is a former Royal Rumble match winner, having won the Royal Rumble match in 2006 and in that year setting a record for lasting the longest length of time in the Royal Rumble match as Rey Mysterio entered the match as the second entrant and lasted over an hour before finally eliminating Triple H and Randy Orton to win the prestigious match. That year Rey Mysterio headed to Wrestlemania and became the World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. Jinder Mahal, as well as the other two members of 3MB, would likely love the opportunity to take part in Sunday’s Royal Rumble match and a victory over Rey Mysterio may well lead to Jinder Mahal getting a spot in the match this Sunday. Jinder Mahal has competed in the main event of every episode of WWE Superstars in 2013 thus far and three weeks ago on WWE Superstars Jinder Mahal was able to defeat newcomer Jay Briscoe in the evening’s main event. Since the victory over Jay Briscoe, however, Mahal has had less success as for the past two weeks in the main event of WWE Superstars Jinder Mahal has been on the losing end of proceedings in matches against the former World Heavyweight Champion, “Captain Charisma” Christian. Mahal will hope to bounce back to winning ways with what would surely be an upset victory over Rey Mysterio in tonight’s main event. Rey Mysterio could do with a victory himself as the man from San Diego, Texas, is yet to record a victory in 2013 after suffering three losses in a row on Friday Night SmackDown. On the first SmackDown of the year Rey Mysterio lost to the Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett in non-title action and for the past two weeks Mysterio has been defeated by Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler.

Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus The Ascension

We will also see tag team action tonight on WWE Superstars and the dark and mysterious pairing of the hard-hitting powerhouse Conor O’Brian and the athletic Englishman Kenneth Cameron, collectively known as the Ascension, will team up once again as they take on the team of Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima for the very first time. The Ascension have as of yet been unable to impress in front of the WWE Universe with a victory despite being given several matches on SmackDown last year by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Two weeks ago on Monday Night RAW we saw Steamboat and Nakajima make their debut as a tag team as they lost to the team of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose but later in the evening their manager the Godfather asked RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero to give them another opportunity. This past week on RAW Steamboat and Nakajima once again lost to the team of Reigns and Ambrose and will be hoping for more success against the Ascension tonight on WWE Superstars. In order to pick up the win which will be their first victory as a tandem, Steamboat and Nakajima will likely have to avoid the double team finishing manoeuvre of the Ascension known as the Fall of Man. The move sees Conor O’Brian run at an opponent from behind and take out their knees whilst Kenneth Cameron simultaneously runs towards the opponent face on and hits them with a devastating spinning heel kick.

Tamina versus Portia Perez

Finally, Divas action tonight on WWE Superstars will see the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Tamina, in action as she will take on newcomer Portia Perez. Tamina is very popular among the WWE Universe and will be hoping that a victory tonight over Portia Perez can earn her future matches on SmackDown from the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Tamina is yet to hold the Divas Championship and will likely be watching the Divas Championship match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View very closely as Kaitlyn will put the Divas title on the line for the very first time as she takes on Paige. Tamina has had a very successful start to 2013 and has picked up victories in the last three editions of WWE Superstars.

Quick Picks:

Rey Mysterio versus Jinder Mahal

Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus The Ascension

Tamina versus Portia Perez

WWE Superstars (Live from Betty Engelstad Center (ND), 3,300 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Layla versus Sexy Star

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Layla defeated Sexy Star in 18:28 by pinfall with a Lay-Out. Unfortunately this match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved as the WWE Universe are still not too familiar with Sexy Star despite her competing in several Divas matches on Monday Night RAW. The more experienced Layla picked up the all-important victory in this one.

Match Rating: D

Pre-Show: Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu versus Hunico and Camacho

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Trent & Yoshi defeated Hunico & Camacho in 17:43 when Trent Barreta defeated Camacho by pinfall with a Gobstopper Knee. This match was also too long given who was involved with the WWE Universe still not being all too interested in the team of Trent and Yoshi despite them teaming together for several months now. Barreta won the match for his team here after pinning Camacho following his trademark Gobstopper Knee.

Match Rating: D

Pre-Show: Jay Briscoe versus Leo Kruger

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Jay Briscoe defeated Leo Kruger in 17:32 by pinfall with a Double Underhook Piledriver. This match was also far too long given who was involved with the WWE Universe not caring for Leo Kruger much despite his time spent on NXT last year.

Match Rating: E

Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus The Ascension

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, The Ascension defeated The Oriental Dragons in 8:20 when Conor O'Brian defeated Fatsuhiko Nakajima by pinfall with a Fall of Man. The Godfather accompanied Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima to ringside for this one but his vocal support was not enough to inspire the Oriental Dragons to victory as Conor O’Brian pinned Nakajima to pick up the victory for the Ascension after they hit Nakajima with their double team finishing manoeuvre the Fall of Man.

Match Rating: E+

Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs the RAW rebound which recaps events from this past week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. This week’s RAW began with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe in attendance and Punk was quick to once again criticise the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero regarding what he calls the lack of competition on RAW. Punk claimed that he would comfortably defeat Zack Ryder in the evening’s non-title main event in what would be his final match before the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View this Sunday when Punk will put the WWE Championship on the line against the Rock. Punk claimed that even though he had been competing in matches recently against what he calls inferior competition, he still has the advantage over the Rock who has only competed in two matches in the past year. CM Punk said that the only match that the Rock has had since he defeated John Cena in the main event of Wrestlemania last year was his victory over Kassius Ohno at last month’s TLC Pay-Per-View, in December. Brock Lesnar then joined CM Punk in the ring and once again proclaimed that Punk and Lesnar are the most dominant force in the WWE due to their associations with Paul Heyman. Lesnar claimed that he will win the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Later on in the evening the Rock came to the ring prior to the main event and claimed that he would win the WWE Championship this Sunday and in the main event CM Punk was victorious over Zack Ryder. RAW went off the air with Punk celebrating in the ring with Paul Heyman.

Rating: B

Tamina versus Portia Perez

In an extremely short match, Tamina defeated Portia Perez in 3:08 by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. The WWE Superstars commentary team of Josh Mathews, Joey Styles and Matt Striker noted that Tamina will likely be watching the Divas title match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View very closely as Kaitlyn will put her title on the line against Paige.

Match Rating: D

Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs highlights from last week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown as the show began with the Big Show making his way to the ring to boos from the WWE Universe in attendance. The Big Show said that he was irritated that SmackDown General Manager Booker T had not given him a match on SmackDown and claimed that he will win the Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View. Randy Orton’s music then hit and Orton sneaked into the ring through the crowd and hit the Big Show with an RKO. In SmackDown’s tag team main event the World Champion Alberto Del Rio and the Miz defeated the team of Sheamus and Kofi Kingston. A tweet is then shown from Booker T announcing that tomorrow night’s SmackDown main event will see Alberto Del Rio in non-title action against R-Truth.

Rating: B

Rey Mysterio versus Jinder Mahal

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Rey Mysterio defeated Jinder Mahal in 8:02 by pinfall with a 619 into a Flying Splash. Rey Mysterio seems to be improving in performance skills and Mysterio certainly impressed in tonight’s WWE Superstars main event with a victory over 3MB member Jinder Mahal.

Match Rating: C+

Post-Show: Inaomichi Marufuji versus Byron Saxton

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Byron Saxton defeated Inaomichi Marufuji in 12:48 by submission with a Triangle Choke. This match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved with the WWE Universe not knowing much about Byron Saxton despite him spending last year announcing on NXT.

Match Rating: F+

Post-Show: The Uso’s versus Team Rhodes Scholars

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Team Rhodes Scholars defeated The Uso's in 13:28 when Cody Rhodes defeated Jey Uso by pinfall with a Cross Rhodes. Twin brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso showed excellent chemistry when teaming together here but were unable to get the win as Cody Rhodes pinned Jey Uso following the Cross Rhodes to win the match for his team.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>Non-Title: World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio versus R-Truth</strong></p><p>

The main event of tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown will see the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio in non-title action as he will take on the unpredictable and charismatic R-Truth. The WWE Universe always seem to be entertained by R-Truth and Truth will likely want to put in a good performance in tonight’s main event and will want to pick up the all-important victory heading into the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View this Sunday when 30 Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown will compete in the Royal Rumble match with the winner going on to challenge for either the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. R-Truth is not yet confirmed to be taking part in the Royal Rumble match but what would surely be an upset victory over the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio tonight on SmackDown may lead to R-Truth getting a spot in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. This match was announced earlier this week by a tweet sent out by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez will most probably accompany his employer Alberto Del Rio to ringside tonight in what is also a very important match for the World Champion Del Rio heading into the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View this Sunday when Del Rio will put the World title on the line against the former Champion Sheamus in the Celtic Warrior’s obligatory Championship rematch after Alberto Del Rio defeated Sheamus to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time last month in December at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View in the evening’s Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Chains main event match. Del Rio became World Champion last month in controversial circumstances as earlier in the evening at the TLC Pay-Per-View Ricardo Rodriguez walked into the locker-room when Sheamus was preparing for his title defence and Rodriguez sprayed some sort of liquid into the eyes of Sheamus. In the main event later on in the evening Del Rio became Champion after he climbed the ladder and retrieved the World Championship title belt whilst Ricardo Rodriguez held onto Sheamus to stop Sheamus from interfering. Del Rio has witnessed attacks on Sheamus for the past few weeks on SmackDown and last week Del Rio looked on with a smile on his face as Ricardo Rodriguez again walked into the locker-room of Sheamus and distracted him for long enough that the Miz could rush into the room and throw Sheamus into the lockers. This attack seemingly sufficiently weakened Sheamus enough that he was forced to submit to Alberto Del Rio’s patented Cross Arm Breaker submission hold in last week’s tag team main event as the team of Del Rio and the Miz defeated Sheamus and Kofi Kingston. Alberto Del Rio is undefeated since becoming World Heavyweight Champion last month and since then has picked up three tag team victories over Sheamus as last month the team of Del Rio and the Big Show defeated Sheamus and Randy Orton, two weeks ago Del Rio and Wade Barrett defeated Sheamus and Kingston and just last week on SmackDown the team of Alberto Del Rio and the Miz defeated Sheamus and Kingston. Del Rio will look to continue his winning streak with a victory over R-Truth tonight on SmackDown.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No versus Prime Time Players</strong></p><p>

Also tonight on Friday Night SmackDown the WWE Tag Team Champions Kane and Daniel Bryan, collectively known as Team Hell No, will be in non-title action as they will once again take on the team of Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, the Prime Time Players. The Prime Time Players will likely be accompanied to the ring by their manager Abraham Washington. Both Kane and Daniel Bryan will be looking to build momentum tonight heading into the Royal Rumble match this Sunday when they will join twenty-eight other Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown competing for the chance to headline Wrestlemania.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara versus Team Rhodes Scholars</strong></p><p>

Another tag team match taking place on tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown will see the high-flying duo of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara in action as they take on the Team Rhodes Scholars pairing of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow. All four of these Superstars will be competing in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View and Rey Mysterio is a former Royal Rumble match winner having won the match after entering as the second entrant back in 2006.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett versus Kofi Kingston</strong></p><p>

The WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett will be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown when he will take on Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. This Sunday Barrett will put the title on the line in a Triple Threat match against both Kingston and the Miz.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ted DiBiase vs. Friday Night SmackDown’s Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler</strong></p><p>

Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler will also be taking part in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match this Sunday but before then he will take on Ted DiBiase tonight on SmackDown.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Rosa Mendes</strong></p><p>

Finally, the WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn will be in action tonight in a non-title match against Rosa Mendes. This Sunday Kaitlyn will put her Divas title on the line against Paige.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show: The Uso’s versus Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, The Uso's defeated Slater & McIntyre in 18:21 when Jey Uso defeated Drew McIntyre by pinfall with an Alley-Us. <strong>Match Rating: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<em>Friday Night SmackDown begins with the “Viper” Randy Orton making his way to the ring. Orton is quick to take a microphone from the ringside area and proclaims to the delighted WWE Universe in attendance in New York City that this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View he will throw twenty-nine other Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown Superstars over the top rope and win the 30 Man Royal Rumble match. Orton says that he will then go to Wrestlemania to once again become the new World Heavyweight Champion, a title that has eluded him for over a year now. Orton says that he is angry that Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T has once again not given him a match tonight on SmackDown and claims that this is because Booker T knows how dangerous Orton can be. The Big Show then makes his way to the ring and snatches the microphone from Orton’s hand. Orton then falls victim to the Knockout Punch as the Big Show punches Orton in the skull. The Big Show then declares that he will be the one victorious this Sunday in the Royal Rumble match before the Big Show heads to the back leaving Randy Orton seemingly unconscious in the centre of the ring as SmackDown cuts to a commercial break.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: A</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Rosa Mendes</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Kaitlyn defeated Rosa Mendes in 5:51 by pinfall with an Atomic Wedgie Bomb. <strong>Match Rating: D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Following Kaitlyn’s victory the Divas Champion celebrates in the ring before Eve and Paige come to the ring seemingly with the intention of attacking Kaitlyn. However, Layla once again comes to make the save and Eve and Paige quickly flee and head to the back whilst Kaitlyn thanks Layla.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No versus Prime Time Players</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Team Hell No defeated Prime Time Players in 8:18 when Daniel Bryan defeated Titus O'Neil by submission with a Triangle Choke. Abraham Washington accompanied the Prime Time Players pairing of Darren Young and Titus O’Neil to ringside but it was still the Tag Team Champions that got the win after Daniel Bryan forced O’Neil to submit.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>We cut backstage where we find the “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus going into the locker-room and wishing R-Truth the best of luck in tonight’s non-title main event against World Champion Alberto Del Rio.</em></p><p>

<strong>Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett versus Kofi Kingston</strong></p><p>

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston in 8:06 by pinfall with The Wasteland. Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston have pretty good chemistry as opponents and it lifted the match.</p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Sheamus comes to the ring much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance and proclaims that this Sunday at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View he will defeat Alberto Del Rio to win back the World Heavyweight Championship. Ricardo Rodriguez then comes to the ring and distracts Sheamus long enough for Mark Henry to enter the ring and hit Sheamus with a Clothesline followed by the World’s Strongest Man. Mark Henry and Rodriguez then head towards the entrance-way where they meet Del Rio who hands Henry an envelope.</em></p><p>

<strong>Rating: B+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<p><strong>Sunday, Week 4, January, 2013</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The following contests are confirmed to take place at tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>30 Man Royal Rumble match featuring WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro, WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, WWE Tag Team Champion Kane, WWE Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan, Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler, Alex Riley, Brock Lesnar, Brodus Clay, Chris Jericho, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Jack Swagger, John Cena, Kassius Ohno, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Mason Ryan, Mick Foley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Ryback, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Ted DiBiase, Tensai, The Big Show, The Miz and Zack Ryder</strong></p><p>

30 WWE Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown will compete tonight with the chance to headline Wrestlemania 29 on the line. Two men will be randomly selected to start tonight’s Royal Rumble match and every three minutes another Superstar will enter the match. The only way to eliminate an opponent is by throwing them over the top rope with both of their feet hitting the floor. The remaining Superstar in the ring once all twenty-nine others have been eliminated will be the winner and go on to challenge for a Championship of their choosing, either the WWE Championship currently held by CM Punk or the World Heavyweight Championship currently held by Alberto Del Rio, at Wrestlemania in the main event of the evening. The WWE Universe are sure to be thoroughly entertained with tonight’s Royal Rumble match which includes several former Royal Rumble winners such as Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio. Several champions will also be competing in tonight’s Royal Rumble match including the WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro, the WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett as well as the WWE Tag Team Champions Kane and Daniel Bryan. Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler, already has a guaranteed shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at any time of his choosing but has claimed that if he wins tonight’s Royal Rumble match he will challenge for the WWE Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania and therefore have a chance of leaving Wrestlemania as both the WWE Champion and the World Heavyweight Champion. The participants in tonight’s Royal Rumble match were largely decided by both the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Favourites for the Royal Rumble match include John Cena, who has claimed on RAW recently that he is focused on winning the Royal Rumble and going on to challenge either the Rock or CM Punk for the WWE Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWE Championship: CM Punk © versus The Rock</strong></p><p>

Also tonight at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View CM Punk will put his WWE Championship on the line once again as he battles the Rock for the first time ever. CM Punk has consistently shocked the WWE Universe for holding onto the WWE Championship for the past fourteen months since winning it from Alberto Del Rio back at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View in November of 2011. CM Punk and the Rock first met in the same ring at RAW 1000 last July when CM Punk hit the Rock with a clothesline followed by the Go to Sleep, prompting Jerry “The King” Lawler to famously declare that Punk had “turned his back on the WWE Universe”. Tonight Punk and Rock meet one on one for the very first time with the WWE Championship on the line.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio © versus Sheamus</strong></p><p>

Alberto Del Rio will look to make his first successful defence of his World Heavyweight Championship tonight as he puts the title on the line against Sheamus in what is the challenger’s contractually obligated rematch. Del Rio defeated Sheamus in a Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Chains match at the TLC Pay-Per-View last month to become the new World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. However, Del Rio’s title win was in controversial circumstances as earlier in the evening Ricardo Rodriguez, Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, sprayed a substance into the eyes of Sheamus. Del Rio would then climb the ladder and retrieve the title later in the evening whilst Rodriguez held onto Sheamus to stop him from interfering.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWE Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett © vs. Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz</strong></p><p>

Wade Barrett will put his WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line tonight in a Triple Threat match against both Kofi Kingston as well as the Miz. These three Superstars will also be taking part in tonight’s Royal Rumble match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWE Divas Championship: Kaitlyn © versus Paige</strong></p><p>

Finally, Kaitlyn will put her WWE Divas Championship on the line for the very first time tonight after winning it from the former Champion Eve last month at the TLC Pay-Per-View. Kaitlyn’s challenger tonight is Paige. Kaitlyn and Paige have a storied history as it was Paige that attacked Kaitlyn backstage at the Night of Champions Pay-Per-View last September when Kaitlyn was scheduled to challenge then Champion Layla for the Divas title. After finally achieving her dreams and becoming Champion last month, the WWE Universe will be firmly behind Kaitlyn tonight in her first title defence.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Kaitlyn defeated Paige in 17:48 by pinfall with a Wedgie Flatliner. Kaitlyn makes defence number 1 of her WWE Divas title. The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

Non-Title: WWE Champion CM Punk versus Mason Ryan

The main event on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW will see the WWE Champion CM Punk in non-title action against the Welsh powerhouse known as Mason Ryan. Last night at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View CM Punk shocked the entire WWE Universe by forcing the Rock to submit to the Anaconda Vice and once again retaining his WWE Championship. CM Punk has now held the prestigious WWE Championship for an astonishing four-hundred and thirty-five days since winning the title from the former Champion Alberto Del Rio at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View in November of 2011 to begin his third reign as WWE Champion. CM Punk will now attempt to keep hold of the WWE Championship on the road to Wrestlemania which officially began last night and is sure to be a rocky one with several twists and turns along the way. John Cena also won the Royal Rumble match last night, defeating twenty-nine other WWE Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown to win the historic Royal Rumble match for the second time in his career. John Cena will now challenge for the Championship of his choosing at Wrestlemania in the main event of the evening, so Cena’s choice is now whether he will challenge for the WWE Championship currently held by CM Punk or the World Heavyweight Championship currently held by Sheamus, who defeated Alberto Del Rio last night at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View to once again become World Heavyweight Champion. The WWE Champion CM Punk, the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus as well as the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T will now eagerly be awaiting John Cena’s decision, which may come tonight on Monday Night RAW. In the weeks leading up to the Royal Rumble John Cena claimed that he wanted to challenge either CM Punk or the Rock for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania but Cena may have changed his mind since then. As well as retaining the WWE Championship against the Rock last night, CM Punk is also on an undefeated streak which has lasted since last September and currently stands at twenty victories without defeat. CM Punk’s associate Paul Heyman will also likely be at RAW tonight and may well address the WWE Universe to praise CM Punk and boost is already inflated ego. Paul Heyman’s other client, Brock Lesnar, was the runner up in the Royal Rumble match last night after entering the match at number thirty but did not look his usual dominating self in his short spell in the match. In recent months Punk and Lesnar have claimed to be the most dominant force in the WWE so it will be interesting to see where Brock Lesnar goes from here after being so confident that he would be victorious in the Royal Rumble match. CM Punk’s opponent tonight, Mason Ryan, was also a participant in the Royal Rumble match last night.

US Championship: Antonio Cesaro © versus Santino Marella versus Dean Ambrose

Also tonight on Monday Night RAW the WWE United States Championship will be on the line in a Triple Threat match as Antonio Cesaro will put his United States Championship on the line against both Santino Marella as well as Dean Ambrose. Santino Marella will likely be the fans favourite in this match as Santino regularly entertains the WWE Universe with his crazy antics.

Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus Roman Reigns and William Regal

Tag team action tonight on Monday Night RAW will see the team of Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima, dubbed as the Oriental Dragons by their managers WCW Legend Norman Smiley and the Godfather, in action as they take on the team of Roman Reigns and William Regal, who are teaming up for the very first time tonight. The Oriental Dragons are yet to pick up a victory since they started teaming together but have been given another opportunity to showcase their skills tonight by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero.

Chris Jericho versus Chavo Guerrero

Chris Jericho will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as he will take on a fellow veteran Chavo Guerrero in one on one competition. Chris Jericho took part in the Royal Rumble match last night whilst Chavo Guerrero did not so Chavo may be slightly fresher heading into tonight’s match. Chris Jericho has been entertaining the WWE Universe for almost fifteen years now and will be looking for an all-important victory tonight on RAW to prove to the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero that he needs to be kept in her future plans with regards to Championship opportunities.

Evan Bourne versus Kassius Ohno

The high-flying Evan Bourne will make his eagerly anticipated return to action in front of the WWE Universe tonight on Monday Night RAW following several months on the sidelines with a serious shoulder injury when he goes one on one with Kassius Ohno. Evan Bourne will be keen to start as he means to go on with a victory tonight on RAW but has been given a tough test by Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero against a Superstar who has made an impact whilst Bourne has been injured in Kassius Ohno.

Emma versus Sexy Star

Finally, Divas action tonight on Monday Night RAW will see the slightly clumsy Australian dancing Diva Emma in action as she takes on Sexy Star. Emma has aligned herself with Kelly Kelly in recent weeks which has led to the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero making life difficult for Emma.

Quick Picks:

Non-Title: WWE Champion CM Punk versus Mason Ryan

US Championship: Antonio Cesaro © versus Santino Marella versus Dean Ambrose

Richie Steamboat and Fatsuhiko Nakajima versus Roman Reigns and William Regal
