Congrats on the release. You've taken what I started, and took it to it's next logical step, the one I wasn't sure I wanted to do. Very good work.

Question: Did you use the CFS incarnations of guys like Tuan Nyugen, or did you use Afroducks? It looks like you used Afroducks. I ask, because, not to insult Afroduck, but I retooled most if not all of them. I added bios, I modified their stats to either be better/worse/have some type of story. If you used Afroduck's, then you didn't get any of that fine tuning...And looking, I can pretty much already tell you used Afroduck's.

Vito Camacho's bio in CV Reborn:

Vito Camacho is the younger brother of Marques Camacho. They both have extensive judo training and almost year after Marques got into MMA his brother followed suit.

Vito Camacho's bio in CFS:

The younger Camacho brother, Vito Camaco is a Spanish Judo fighter like his brother. Skilled at clinch takedowns and submissions, Vito could become a player with more training and experience.

I get why you guys probably did this, wanting to use the source material...but I was given the CFS guys to retool and make as good as possible. I spent weeks fine tuning fighters people gave me for that mod. Outside of a few fighters sent to me, I worked hard to make every fighter unique, have skills, and fit the Cverse. I'm kind of flabbergasted, to be honest.

But then I look at Ronald Johnston's bio, and it's the same from CFS. I am confused.

Looking over stuff, I do have some suggestions. And I want to stress that I understand how hard it can be to make a mod like this, and these are just to help.

- You might wanna look over the Japanese names added to the mod. I'm by no means fluent in Japanese, but having watched MMA, pro-wrestling, anime, etc, etc, for so long it sticks out to me. This is a personal pet peeve of mine...Adam Ryland can't name Japanese wrestlers/fighters. So when I see a name like Aikoko, a red light goes off in my brain. Generally speaking, if you google a Japanese surname/given name, something will pop up. Maimi Koyanagi is another one...A quick google search shows that's the name of a J-Pop star, but it's not a very common name at all.

It's pretty much personal preference, but if you notice in the fighters I made, they all use pretty common, easy to remember names. That's typically the trend for fighters & wrestlers.

- I really think a narrative should be added to have GAMMA (or ALPHA-1, or both) introduce a Featherweight division. Looking at the promotions, a good job has been done kind of staggering the introduction of promotions to use Bantamweights. But I think ultimately, they need one of the big promotions to introduce the weight class later on.

- I would also suggest editing some of the default fighters down to the new Bantamweight class. There's several of them that are undersized at FW, but were there because there was no official weight class supported. Lucky Lyman, Ang Dong, Ivano Ancic, and others. I could never support BW in CFS for this reason. So I think that'd be a good move to make.

We've imported from one mod/add-on at a time, so like you said there sometimes are different versions of the same fighters. We imported what we could from Redone. Redone was one of the first mods that we started to import from mainly because Afroduck was in the project and he was one of the first that gave permission to use his work. Other parts that wasn't Afroducks work has been imported from CFS and other mods/add-ons when we got permission from the creators.

I'll agree with you, but we wanted to focus to expand the WMMA3 default universe and not to alter it to muck. But when we'll adding new fictional fighters to the database, i'll try to give them more common names.

I really think a narrative should be added to have GAMMA (or ALPHA-1, or both) introduce a Featherweight division. Good idea that might be used, but i'll let Afroduck to the decision since he's responsible for the lower weight classes.

Actually we spoke of this earlier. Afroduck shares the same opinion as you. I didn't want to change the default database too much, but if this would be a popular idea amongst the community i think we could do the project if and when Afroduck has time and have it in a future version of the mod.

I actually had the GAMMA FW class down as a change earlier, but somehow it disappeared into the jungle that is all the db's in my folder, and didn't make it into the game. And like Asaemon says, Afro is responsible for it, so I dropped it. But I agree on the change. Should definitely make it in the next version.

That has been my issue for a LONG time with WMMA modding community. Everyone was doing their own thing, and I spend hours combining the stuff into a personal mold with my own changes (and again for WMMA3). If a mod updated, I could start over again. Very frustrating. Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I'm very chaotic by nature, so it's kind of a chore to sort everything out. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> That's the whole purpose of this mod. A centralised effort to combine everything into one easy to install package so casual players can easily install it. You can still import character packs, so to any modmakers out there, I strongly advise to just make character packs that are compatible with this one. It's a community mod and effort, so they will be included 99% of the time. But because it is a community mod, we can't alter anything without a logical reason.

You are obviously frustrated at this little error we seem to have made, and perhaps rightly so. Look, just provide us with your mod and the list of fighters, and normally it should be easy to copy-paste the bios. If you adjusted more, we can import the fighters as a whole. It can all be changed, normally. Some of my changes were also not included and got 'lost', because it is SUCH a chore transfering everything for 2000 characters, shared between 3 people.

But now there's a centralised database and now we can all help out by adding stuff, fleshing it out. That's the whole point. You can release your own mods: go nuts. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Only problem there is 'official' updates.

What would be great is feedback on how the narratives works. Do they work or not? Are they to weak or powerful?

And if there are more problems with the pictures. There could be bodies renders that doesn't have the same name as their face render, or bodies renders that needs an face render to show up inside the game. I've found some and fixed them, but there could be some left.

I'm currently uploading the pictures to Mediafire. This upload will be finished in just a few minutes. So those that have trouble downloading could check out the first page in a few minutes for the download link.

I'm currently adding some new relatives that Afroduck sent me. So if anyone else has suggestions for relatives that could be created and added to the database feel free to post them in the thread.

cant get it to install like most mods if anyone could help I would be grateful

What did you do exactly?

The folder with the database should be placed in the "database" folder, the one that has a "default" (C-verse) folder in it. This one should be next to that default folder.

The pictures from the update, respectively Body and Face, should be placed in the "picture" folder. It speaks pretty much for itself. :p

Be sure you have a save file for every database. If not, it will not recognize the database. Copy paste a working database into this one (without overwriting) and it should work.

I'd also change the name of the folder to something with few characters ("CVE" for example)

I went to move files over to the new database and I was getting error message after error message

I can't really explain it an a more simplistic manner. There's a folder called "CVE_2_4b" in the file you're downloading. The objective is to put it in the WMMA3\Databases folder that should be there already, provided you did install the game. :p The folder practically contains everything it needs to.

We've been toying with the idea of programming additional divisions into top organisations like GAMMA and ALPHA-1, even the former getting a women's division at one point after some buildup.

However, after some testing, I like it more if they are limited to 5. In the default database, you can already notice some weight classes struggling as there's 6 in total. This will get even worse if it become 7/8. Some fighters will only fight once a year: not healthy for the division. Of course this is only true for AI promotions. But then again, we don't have to program the weight classes in as the player can do that whenever he wants to anyway.

XCC now has 5, but for a promotion of it's size, it's just not doable. Well, that was my experience at least. Anybody who differs?

I'm loving this mod so far. A few things I'd consider though -

- a lot of fighters are really old. I'm not sure if many of these fighters are supposed to be retired, but having an overabundance of 60+ year old active fighters is a little odd.

- a lot of the fighters who were imported from total extreme wrestling still have descriptions which say that they are "workers", and talk about how they are wrestlers rather than MMA fighters. It might be worth changing the identities of these fighters altogether to make them into more realistic MMA fighters. Except for Saladin. Saladin is awesome and he does what he pleases.

- A lot of fighters have unrealistic ratings for reputation, aura, and performance. There is specifically a bunch of fighters who have 0 for each of these, even though some of them have 20+ fights. And, many fighters who have mediocre records have unrealistically high ratings for reputation as well.

This mod is so dang addictive that it is cutting into my study time for my university exams. I can't.... stop...... playing it. Excellent work to all involved :)

I noticed an error in the picture file: a render was being used double. Here's the actual render for Sinjai Towira.

http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd364/Marginal0/WMMA/SinjaiTowira_zps7794d78e.gifhttp://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd364/Marginal0/WMMA/SinjaiTowirah_zps82329b07.gif

Also made a couple of new alternates for some of the more prominent characters in the rerender thread. Again: they look fine on the default (or any black) backgrounds. Try it.

So, maybe I'm lost as all heck, but when I download the mod, I don't get ANY pictures along with it.

They're just not in the download at all for me.

It seems like you've only downloaded the data. You also need to download the pictures, you find some links to it in the first post.
