WWE 2014: As Told By Dirt Sheets

Recommended Posts

In the world of professional wrestling, there always has and always will be "dirt sheets." Providing the readers with supposed inside information and news, they're as likely to give you a big scoop about upcoming storylines as they are to make up far-fetched stories just to get page views and clicks. Do you know what to believe? Do you know who to trust? Come find out.

Yes, I'm aware this looks familiar to many of you that may have seen my "WWE 2010: As Told By Dirt Sheets" thread. That dynasty never got started as the database seems to have been deleted by the creator, at least for the time being. I was a big fan of the format ideas I had for that dynasty, so am going to try to work them into this one, which will start in January of 2014. My TNA dynasty, for those of you that were fans, is still alive and well, but I recently switched computers and have no way of transferring my data as of yet, so I'm going to put that on pause for now. When I can, both will run along-side each other.

In this dynasty, I hope to give it a seperate feel from my other. For one, each week will bring you the biggest dirt sheet headlines from the wrestling world. Some of these will be completely true. Some will be patently false. Which is which? Well, that's up to you to find out if you want to do well in the prediction contests.

Speaking of prediction contests, they will only happen at Pay-Per-Views. That's right, weekly television shows will no longer have prediction contests. Fear not, though, as this means that the prizes for the contests are going to be bigger and better than ever before. From deciding which superstar is going down with an injury, to eliminating another competitor from a month's prediction contest (thus improving your odds of winning if done correctly) to deciding on a special informant to the dirt sheet writer which ensures that all stories about that worker will be 100% true for a given amount of time (yet you're the only one who knows) you won't want to lose out on these fantastic prizes!

Hope to have some good shows from this dynasty, as I have big storylines planned for a lot of wrestlers, some of whom will be characters you know, while others will be quite different.

Hello friends, fans, and loyal readers. As we head into 2010, I welcome you to a new year of wrestling news, rumors and headlines. I'm "Smart" Mark Johnson and, without any further ado, these are the High Marks for January, Week 1 2014!

As seen last night on the WWE TLC PPV, Vince McMahon has returned to WWE television, helping John Cena to become World and WWE Champion. It's unclear how long the two titles will remain on one person, as feedback on the idea has been mixed.

Dean Ambrose has held his United States title for almost a year now. There's talk of who he is going to drop the championship to when it eventually does happen, though nobody is sure who or when it will.

The Royal Rumble is fast approaching, and as of right now, there is no frontrunner for who is being picked to win the match and go on to Wrestlemania 30 against the champion. Names thrown around have ranged from Ryback to CM Punk to Daniel Bryan, with some outside shots like Chris Jericho and even Batista being brought up at several meetings.

WWE has continued to encourage superstars to be more interactive on Twitter, including responding to fan tweets. If you get any responses from superstars or divas from tweets you send that I see, you may even get them mentioned in headlines!

That's all I've got for ya this week! Make sure to come back for Monday Night RAW!
