He thanks the WWE Universe for not forgetting about the old Heartbreak Kid and voting him to be the special referee for the WWE Championship match at Hell in a Cell. He explains that although Daniel Bryan is his protégé and although he doesn’t like Randy Orton, Triple H is still his best friend and in the end Michaels wants what’s best for the WWE Universe. Orton’s music interrupts Michaels, and Orton comes to the ring. Orton tells Michaels that he knows that Michaels’ thing is screw jobs, but if he even think about screwing Orton over Orton won’t hesitate to RKO Michaels. Michaels responds that if Orton even thinks about laying one finger on him, Michaels will kick Orton’s face off of his shoulders. As Michaels goes to give a ringside worker the mic, Orton turns Michaels around and goes for the RKO, but Michaels pushes Orton off and goes for the Sweet Chin Music, but Orton barely manages to hold onto the ropes and then slides out of the ring with a surprised look on his face.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = A*</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Randy Orton looks back at Shawn Michaels from the ramp, The Miz suddenly attacks Orton and the commentators brings up the fact that Miz is scheduled to face Orton next. But as Miz looked to have Orton where he wanted him, the lights suddenly went out and when they came on again all three members of The Wyatt Family were standing at the bottom of the ramp, which was enough of a distraction to allow Orton to hit the RKO and get the win.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C+</strong></p><p></p></div></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> After the match Bray Wyatt sends a message to The Miz. Wyatt says that Miz seems to be suffering in his obsession with fame. Wyatt says that he doesn’t wish to see Miz suffer, so he’s just gonna put him down.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> The commentators announce that tonight Cody Rhodes and Goldust will be challenging The Shield for the WWE Tag Team Championships.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C-</strong></p><p> </p><p> Triple H and Stephanie McMahon come to the ring. Triple H speak about what happened at the end of last week’s SmackDown when Big Show knocked him out, and complains that the entire WWE Universe was on their feet chanting “Yes” Triple H then throws a fit and says that if they want him to be the bad guy, then fine he’ll be the bad guy. He promises that Big Show will end up begging him not to press charges, and everyone who even thought the word “Yes” this past Friday Night will pay.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = B</strong></p><p> </p><p> Daniel Bryan’s music interrupts Triple H and Bryan walks out on the stage, immediately starting the “Yes”-chant. Bryan walks down the ramp, but is then suddenly attacked by Alberto Del Rio.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = A</strong></p><p> </p><p> Triple H mockingly asked if Bryan were saying something, and then tells him that tonight it’ll be Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = B</strong></p><p> </p><p> Backstage, R-Truth is seen talking to General Manager Brad Maddox in Maddox’s office. Truth asks for another shot at the Intercontinental Championship. Paul Heyman walks in and says that he couldn't help overhearing what Truth just said, and says to Maddox that Curtis Axel has already beaten Truth for the Intercontinental title twice within the past two weeks, and says that he has a better idea. Heyman suggests to Maddox that at Hell in a Cell, instead of just CM Punk vs. Ryback it’ll be a Handicap match with CM Punk vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel. Maddox questions both ideas but ends up deciding to do the first ever Tag Team Beat The Clock Challenge tonight, and whichever team beats the clock will win the price. They say that they beat the odds at Battleground when they defeated The Shield to win their jobs back, and they beat the odds this past Friday Night when they defeated The Wyatt Family. Tonight they will beat the odds for the third time, and become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C-</strong></p><p> </p><p> Backstage, The Usos runs into Zeb Colter and The Real Americans. Real Americans congratulates Usos on their win in an ironic way, and then says it’s typical their kind to flock together and prey on Americans. Brie asks what match, and Steph then says that Brie will be facing Tamina Snuka. Nikki tells Brie not to worry because they've got it, but Steph then says that there’s no “We”, because Nikki will be banned from the match. The ending came when Goldust and Reigns is fighting outside the ring, and Rhodes suddenly hits Rollins with the Cross Rhodes inside the ring. Towards the end after Truth finally managed to get the fresh Punk tagged in, Heyman and his guys even came out on the ramp to distract Punk and Truth. And it worked and almost cost Punk and Truth the win after a role up by Swagger on Truth, but Truth rolled through and managed to hit Swagger with the What's Up on the rebound, getting the win with just four seconds to spare on the clock.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = B-</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> After the match, CM Punk gets on the mic and directs his attention towards Paul Heyman. Punk says that this is the time when Heyman will actually be proud of Punk, as he has learned from the best. Punk says that he actually likes Heyman's idea of a Handicap match, so they will go ahead and do that. But instead of Punk vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel, it’ll be Punk vs. Ryback and Paul Heyman, inside the Hell in a Cell!</p><p> <strong>GRADE = A</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Real Americans is seen backstage talking and looking sore after their defeat. Cody and Goldust say that they had The Shield beat this past Monday Night on RAW, and if it weren’t for Dean Ambrose intentionally causing a disqualification Cody and Goldust would be the Tag Team Champions now. They say that they beat Shield at Battleground even though Ambrose also tried to prevent that, and states that maybe Shield should just face the fact that they can’t beat Cody and Goldust.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C+</strong></p><p> </p><p> Cody Rhodes and Goldust opens the ropes so their father can leave the ring, but before they can leave themselves The Shield’s music hits and Shield surrounds the ring. Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins goes on a 3-on-2 attack. During the brawl Reigns Clotheslines Goldust over the top rope to the outside, and goes over the ropes to the outside as well. Cod manages to throw Rollins out of the ring, but Cody gets attacked from behind by Ambrose. Suddenly Ambrose is turned around from behind by “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, who connects with the Bionic Elbow to Ambrose, sending him through the ropes to the outside. Van Dam signaled for the end and climbed a turnbuckle, but as he got ready to deliver his 5 Star Frog Splash, he got pushed down into the ring from behind by Del Rio who had run down to the ring, causing a disqualification.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C</strong></p><p> </p><p> After the match Del Rio kept on attacking Van Dam and even tried to get Big E in on it, but Big E seemed more focused on the fact that Del Rio just cost him the match. Suddenly Kofi Kingston rushes down the ramp and he manages to clear Del Rio from the ring. Kofi turns around and looks at Big E, and Big E first look back at Kofi and then down on Del Rio who's livid, and then decides to leave seemingly saying that this is not his fight.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C+</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> SmackDown fades out as Van Dam gets up and points toward Del Rio and invites him to come back, while Del Rio is livid.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Overall Show Rating = </strong><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">B-</span></strong></p></div><p></p>

<p>Here are my thoughts on Smackdown</p><p> </p><p>

Del Rio vs Kofi was as good as expected. It'd be cool to see Kofi get the push he deserves as he is always mega over with the crowds.</p><p> </p><p>

I really like the team of Cody and Goldust and hope to see them go over The Shield but whoever goes over, its going to be a great match. The brawl was really well done and the Bionic Elbow spot by Dusty was very cool.</p><p> </p><p>

I personally can't stand Swagger and Cesaro as a team but like them both separately. The right team went over here though. It would've been cool to see Cesaro pull a Giant Swing off on either of the big men!</p><p> </p><p>

The push of R-Truth is interesting. I like Fandango but it's hard to take him seriously with that gimmick.</p><p> </p><p>

The divas just don't interest me. Nothing to do with this, that's my opinion in general.</p><p> </p><p>

I like The Miz but he needs to be put in a meaningful story. Maybe The Wyatts can provide that story.</p><p> </p><p>

I also liked the inclusion of Ryder to give the right team the win without hurting The Miz. Smart booking.</p><p> </p><p>

The RVD-ADR storyline was a bit...ehhh in real life. Hopefully you can make it more interesting than WWE did. I do like the inclusion of Big E in a main event story and hope he gets more involved and this wasn't just a one-off.</p><p> </p><p>

Overall a good show. It's still following real life a bit at the moment so I am intrigued to see which way you go with things. October Week 4, 2013

 

Last week on RAW, CM Punk and R-Truth won the first ever Tag Team Beat The Clock Challenge, giving R-Truth a shot at Curtis Axel's Intercontinental Championship while Punk won the right to face Paul Heyman and pick a stipulation. Punk surprisingly chose to face both CM Punk and Ryback inside Hell in a Cell at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per View. Tonight R-Truth will face Ryback, while CM Punk faces Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. Will things between these four escalate even further?? And who will go into Hell in a Cell in six days with momentum on their side??

 

Also, last week on RAW Cody Rhodes and Goldust challenged The Shield's Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns for the WWE Tag Team Championships, but as Cody Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes and looked to crown new champions, Dean Ambrose got involved to cause a disqualification. And on SmackDown the entire Rhodes Family came to the ring and sent a message to Shield telling them to realize that maybe they just can't beat Cody and Goldust, which eventually resulted in a 3-on-2 attack from Shield until Dusty Rhodes actually got involved at hit Dean Ambrose with the Bionic Elbow. Sources tell us that The Shield has a message to deliver to the Rhodes Family tonight. What could it be??

 

And also, for some reason it seems that The Miz has been targeted by The Wyatt Family. Tonight The Miz has something for the Wyatt's, which he will personally address in the ring. What will be the next step for "The Awesome One"?? And how will the creepy Wyatt Family respond??

Daniel Bryan interrupts by coming to the ring and telling Del Rio that he would never run away from a fight with anyone. Bryan is then interrupted by Randy Orton, and as he walks to the ring Bryan realizes he’s outnumbered which also puts a smile on Del Rio’s face. Bryan doesn't back down and gets ready with an eye on both Del Rio and Orton, but just as Orton is about to slither into the ring Rob Van Dam runs to the ring, making Del Rio retreat and Orton think twice about entering the ring.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = A</strong></p><p> </p><p> Brad Maddox comes out and says that even though the four of them seems to want to kick off Hell in a Cell six days early, it’s not going to happen. But what they are gonna do is they are going to have two matches tonight, and each match will have one of the Special Referee Candidates that didn’t get chosen for the WWE Championship match as special referee. Maddox says it’s going to be Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam with John Laurinaitis as Special Referee, and Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio with Booker T as Special Referee. R-Truth used his speed and agility in the beginning to try and shake up the big man, but once Ryback got Truth down he utilized his size and strength to take control. The ending came when Truth went for the Corkscrew Scissors Kick, but Ryback avoided it and leveled Truth with the Meathook Clothesline. Seconds later Ryback planted Truth with the Shell Shock, and pinned him for the win.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C</strong></p><p></p></div></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> After the match R-Truth is beaten down by Curtis Axel, and Axel shows Truth the title and says that he will never have it.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C-</strong></p><p> </p><p> Backstage, Shield talks to the camera from a dark location. They start talking about what happened on SmackDown when Cody Rhodes, Goldust and Dusty Rhodes came to the ring and, Cody and Goldust said that The Shield can’t beat them. Dean Ambrose then stops the segment and said that they should take it to the ring, and so they do.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C-</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Shield comes to the ring as they said they would. Shield says that they heard Cody Rhodes and Goldust say that Shield can’t beat them, and then says that momentum might be on The Rhodes Family’s side right now, but at any time that could change in an instant. Cody and Goldust comes out and say that if that’s so, why don’t Shield try and make the momentum change at Hell in a Cell, and if they agree to put the titles on the line, Cody and Goldust will let Shield chose the stipulations. Shield agrees and makes the match a No Disqualification match. Cody and Goldust seems satisfied and goes to leave.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C+</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Cody Rhodes and Goldust goes to leave, Dean Ambrose grabs a mic and says that Dusty Rhodes had put his hands, or more specific his elbow, on Ambrose twice now, and he wants Dusty one-on-one. Cody goes to answer, but then Dusty’s music hits and he comes out to the ramp where Cody and Goldust are standing. Dusty gets a mic and goes straight to the case and says that if Ambrose agrees to stay out of the WWE Tag Team match, he gets Dusty one-on-one at Hell in a Cell. Ambrose looks at Rollins and Reigns, smiles and agrees. Brad Maddox comes out and says that the WWE Tag Team Championship match is on. As far as the match between Dusty Rhodes and Dean Ambrose, Maddox says that it’s historic that Dusty is returning to the ring, so why not make the match even more historic and make the match for the United States Championship. Rowan connected with a Big Boot on Khali which took the big Punjab down from the apron, but Santino then came up from behind and lifted Rowan over the top rope as well. Santino pulled the Cobra up and placed it on his hand, turned around and was then leveled by the vicious Discuss Clothesline from Harper. In the end Cody hit an Alabama Slam on Mahal, and then per request tagged in his father. Cody and Goldust then took care of McIntyre and Slater, while Dusty hit the iconic Bionic Elbow on Mahal and pinned him for the win. The Rhodes Family got some momentum before their title matches at Hell in a Cell this Sunday.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = C-</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Vickie Guerrero comes to the ring to host the contract signing for the World Heavyweight Championship match at Hell in a Cell. She first introduces Alberto Del Rio, and then the challenger Rob Van Dam. Of course there is some words exchanged between the two, as Del Rio promises to beat Van Dam again and send him back in line where he should already be, and Van Dam says that at Hell in a Cell he will become the new World Heavyweight Champion.</p><p> <strong>GRADE = B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> The two have a heated staredown, and as Van Dam turns to leave Del Rio gets a cheap shot in and quickly leaves the ring. Del Rio walks backwards up the ramp while smiling back to Van Dam and even sending him his trademark wink, as suddenly Ricardo Rodriguez walks out on the stage behind Del Rio, holding a steel chair. Del Rio realizes it and stops, and when Ricardo starts walking towards Del Rio, Del Rio actually hesitates and backs up. Suddenly Del Rio is turned around by Van Dam and Van Dam starts throwing punches to Del Rio’s face. Del Rio attempts to return the punches, but Van Dam either blocks them or ducks them.
