Bestintheworld
**Big shout out to Jingo, stole his style of introducing the diary cause I liked the layout, check out his WCW 2000 diary!!** Part One: "The Finger poke of Doom" http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag29/wwfvsnwa/WCW1999/Wcw_doom_zps72a0e897.jpg 1998 was WCW's most successful year, however it was the year that the Monday night wars started to turn in favour of the WWF. In 1997 WCW were clear ratings leaders but due to the success of stars like The Rock, Steve Austin and the owner Vince McMahon WWF caught up the ground, well that and an inconstancy in WCW's story lines. One being WCW's most profitable faction, the nWo Wolfpac, over the year the faction saw many switches in talent and several of the top stars rarely appearing on WCW programming, i.e Randy Savage and Sting, however it was making money and that's all WCW cared about. By the end of 1998 the anticipated Wolfpac vs Hollywood feud looked to be about ready to catch fire, Hollywood Hogan leading his gang against Nash's boys who had all got over big as babyfaces. With things seemingly set for a huge feud to take place in 99 in typical WCW fashion we got swerved, one night after Kevin Nash ended the streak of WCW's top star Goldberg he was set to take on Hogan on Nitro. However, what came of the match was a farce, Nash dropping down and being pinned following a finger poke from the all mighty Hollywood Hogan...this was followed by the apparent reunion of the Wolfpac and Hollywood as they joined forces to take down Goldberg, with the help of Lex Luger who turned on his former ally to become a part of what was explained on Thunder as the 'nWo Elite'. WCW's poor booking of Goldberg on this show and the fact that they flushed down the toilet the anticipated Nash vs Hogan feud aside and many within feel this could be a positive going forward, they see this as the strongest nWo line up formed yet with the inclusion of Luger and are hoping to re-create some of the magic the nWo had in 96-97. One interesting note to take from Thunder was as Hogan ran over the line up for the nWo Elite he failed to mention former nWo Hollywood member Bret Hart, this has led to speculation regarding his future in WCW. Others not mentioned were Randy Savage, Sting and Konnan however the difference being Bret Hart was the only member of the heel faction not to join the nWo Elite and it seems the others who were part of the face Wolfpac may make up the WCW side battling back against this seemingly unstoppable force known as the nWo Elite. *Coming Next: A presidential change*
