SWF 2014: A Young Lion's Second Year in the Den (Three-Way Brand Split)

Recommended Posts

OOC - I think the first Supreme TV of February is on track for Friday, so this may be the last, or second-to-the-last call for predictions. Flaviooooo has already sent me his choices for High Stakes Season 4 rookies, and we'll find those out in a week or so (there are some clues below), but here's some news on the returning rookies who will be taking part. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

PARENTAL GUIDANCE DEMANDED! ALAN PARENT MANEUVERS SCYTHE OUT OF RIPW, MANEUVERS WAY IN TO HIGH STAKES S4

By Pro Wrestling Hits Staff

Monday, February 3, 2014

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm87/endshiftresign/TEW%202013/AlanParent_zpse1108a19.jpg

He may be a goody-two-shoes, milk-and-cookies babyface who idolizes Haruki Kudo and isn't shy about it, but Alan Parent is far from being an angel backstage.

According to sources close to the matter, RIPW talent Parent, 28, was the main reason former college basketball star and High Stakes Season 1 rookie Tommy Alexander (better known as "Scythe" in TWL and RIPW) was not renewed when his developmental contract came up. "Parent has been playing the backstabbing game with Tommy since he dropped by (RIPW, from TWL) for a cup of coffee," said one of our sources. "He'd been telling Phil (Enforcer Roberts) that Tommy's a lost cause and can't wrestle, that he's just a Vengeance derivative, that he'd party too much after training. And apparently, Phil believed him. That's why he was gone from RIPW before he even had a chance to prove himself."

Scythe, who competed under his real name in Season 1 of High Stakes (as did everyone that season except Lassana "Lazarus McKenzie" Makutsi), was supposed to use his alias in the fourth season of High Stakes, which would feature five "second chance" rookies from the first three seasons. Despite being far from a finished product, Scythe was expected to be heavily pushed as a deadlier force after an underwhelming first season where he finished seventh. Apparently, that won't be the case anymore, as he's now a free agent and no longer under contract to the SWF and RIPW. Our sources add that Roberts may have also been swayed by the fact that Parent has become a cult favorite of sorts among High Stakes audiences, while Scythe's "Vengeance-lite" gimmick never quite got over.

Speaking of Makutsi/McKenzie, the kayfabe Jamaican is apparently confirmed to rejoin the Season 4 cast, as is Davis Wayne Newton, who competed as "Dave Newton" in Season 1 but will simply go by "Davey" and be groomed as a potential fifth member of the 24/7 Partay Dudez stable. Still unconfirmed are Season 1's Nate "Fro Sure" Lee and a couple of Season 3 competitors who aren't booked to win it all in the current season. As for the newcomers, the SWF is reportedly negotiating with a Grimm SoCal Wrestling standout and someone from Japan's Golden Canvas Grappling, while TWL's Hector Galindo, Jesus Chavez and Tennessee William (to compete under his real name Jerome Perkins) are all being considered as of this writing.

Denouement - What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been!

After 14 months real-life and 13 months in-game, it pains me to say this, but I have made the tough decision to pull the plug on this diary. Why, pray tell? Well, I've tried everything to make the three-brand setup work. I've gone on extended hiatus, tried to give myself more time to write all the shows, tried to revitalize my creative juices by hearkening back to the wrestling I grew up with in the late '80s through the Attitude era. Still, nothing has worked on a sustained level, and in my opinion, I may have dug myself into a deep hole and bitten off more than I can chew, pardon the cliches. Not as much as I've booked myself into a corner, but more in the sense that running three brands and working on two B-shows on top of work, band and girlfriend commitments has turned out to be too demanding for me. And I'll be the first to admit that my writing has suffered because of such. TL;DR - I want to continue diary writing as it's a great stress reliever and keeps my creative juices flowing, but I need to scale back, and I need a fresh start.

Fear not, though, because I will be starting another diary soon, and even with Eisen-Verse and Charasmatic Enigma doing such a great job with the SWF at the present, chances are I'll be going with the SWF again. So what can my readers, new and old, expect from my next project?

Will KP Avatar be back? Yes, he would, but I'll be going with someone else as my head booker.

Will I hire the same youngsters and give them the same gimmicks? Most likely, but I won't go overboard with my hiring spree. As for the gimmicks, the Partay Dudez will be carrying over, because I just love booking a heel stable that's somewhere between 3 Count and Spirit Squad.

Will there be another brand split? I don't think so! <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Will the Klubb be back? Most definitely, and so will the Smacker should I do another SWF thingy.

And last, but not least, will Alan Parent be back? OH HELL YEAH!!! If I'm going with SWF again, my plan is to get Uprising and High Stakes in March, so that way I can ease Spencer Spade, Lenny Brown, et al. into the scheme of things by putting them on an NXT-style show. And they shall be joined by one Alan Parent, from Drummondville, QC. To make sure I don't overextend myself again, Uprising shows will probably be written with far less detail, while High Stakes will be as it was.

I'd like to thank all of you for reading, predicting and commenting, and be rest assured - we shall see each other again in another diary. Sorry again if I have to cut this diary short, and so I don't leave anyone hanging when it comes to the backstage segments, which, I promise, will remain a selling point of the new diary, I'll come up with a final "Deus ex Machina" post explaining what happened to KP, his fellow SWF sophomores, the Klubb, et al.

EDIT - Flaviooooo, to make sure your January prediction game win doesn't go to waste, I'll get back to you soon and have you help me with the new diary - either someone to hire, a storyline to start with, or a shoot interview subject.

AFTERMATH:

Still stuck doing jobs as of December 2014 and frequently picked on by head booker Eric Eisen and his Klubb, KP Avatar gave his notice to the SWF and wrestled in the indies until 2016, when musical commitments to the Psychedelic Garage Jobbers (who were on their way to signing a major label deal, with none of the other original members remaining due to their SWF schedules) forced him to retire. He married Nancy "Anita Bite" Marston in January 2017, and one-time KP fling Lisa Bowen and THE ARCHITECT were married two months later. Dawn the Cheerleader is now in a relationship with a non-wrestler.

Eric Eisen would continue his reign of terror until July 2015, and would book all three brands into a total fustercluck with his pro-Klubb booking strategies. He would be replaced as head booker by Christian Faith, who remained a consummate pro despite his estrangement from Richard Eisen and his sons and stuck it out with SWF through thick and thin. The results were immediate - Faith made Supreme Challenge XXXV a game-changer for SWF, which had then slipped to second place behind TCW. At the start of 2016, SWF was back at number one. As for Double E and his similarly devious brother Jerry, they're in USPW with their good friend Brandon James as of 2016.

Spencer Spade would end up joining the Klubb following his fallout with KP Avatar and his fellow sophomores, and would parlay his friendship with Supreme brand deputy booker Paul Huntingdon to a North American title win at Christmas Clash 2014. Fortunately, he saw the error of his ways at the height of the Eisen boys' incompetence, and remains gainfully employed as an SWF midcarder.

Jack Bruce would remain SWF World Heavyweight Champion until March 2014, when the anti-authority Remo (a Klubb member too) cashed in on him with his Nothing to Lose contract and became a three-time World champ. This would lead to the SWF's booking committee making numerous title changes to both the World and SWF Titles. Regarding the latter title, Brandon James dropped the strap to Eric Eisen at The World is Watching (May 2014), and this would lead to the birth of the Klubb as an SWF stable, with James, Eisen, The Awesomeness and (!) Roger Cage standing out as edgy, risque babyfaces.

What happened to The New Money Army? NMA Silver, headed by Rich Money, was disbanded when The Klubb stable won a feud against them in mid-2014. NMA Blue folded shortly thereafter after Bryan Vessey was fired from the SWF for his third steroids strike. The Money-Chase Agency of DaVE simply became The Chase Agency in late 2014, when the main NMA branches had both folded. As Emma Chase is still in the SWF as of 2016-17, there's still a Chase Agency (of which Alan Parent is one of the members), and there's still a lot of dollar signs to be seen by the SWF Galaxy.

Tom "Angry" Gilmore beat then-six-time champ Jack Bruce for the SWF World Heavyweight title at Supreme Challenge XXXIV, but since a "darling of the dirt sheets" like Gilmore wasn't "good business," he dropped the title a month later to Drew Hawkins, a friend of the Klubb and then a first-time World champ in the SWF.

Frustrated with the Eisens' booking and the fact he had held a main event title for a cumulative total of five minutes (his SWF Title win at Christmas Clash 2013) as of the start of 2015, Nicky Champion walked out of the SWF and helped TCW in its temporary resurgence. He remains good friends with KP and Charles Avatar.

...and somewhere in his kayfabe hometown of Bronx, New York, Big Smack Scott is out of wrestling and working as a bouncer. He also holds poorly-attended autograph signings, which has led to sports website Livescoop starting a popular series of columns known as the "Smackerbag."

Valiant would lose both matches, but remain booked as a true main event talent.

- I was honestly torn between having Bobby Bruce drop the Shooting Star belt at Nothing to Lose and having him keep it against Remmy Skye.

- Darryl Devine and J. Gordon Reed (whom I'd planned to beat Chris Caulfield for the DaVE Title before feuding with a babyface Eddie Peak, who'd refuse to join the Money-Chase Agency) were set to be my big breakout stars for 2014, with Devine ideally rising to C/C+ popularity and Reed/Greed moving to B-.

- I had planned a huge Marc Speed heel turn towards the end of High Stakes Season 3; he was to end up winning the contest, and end up on the Supreme brand, where he'd replace Kurt Laramee (who just wasn't cutting it) as the fourth member of The 'Hood. The order was supposed to be: 1) Speed 2) Gino Montero 3) Erik Strong 4) El Mitico 5) Davie Renluenn 6) Swoop McCarthy as surprise elimination.

- And yes, I really had a long-term plan to have Eric Eisen turned face (his Entourage would turn on him) and join up with Brandon James, The Awesomeness (who'd blame their tag team title loss on Rich Money and the NMA) and Roger Cage (who'd resign from his TV executive job) as part of a D-Generation X-esque edgy babyface faction known as The Klubb, to be formed in midyear.
