The Stupidest Little BHOTWG Diary

<p>Thanks! I came pretty close with the heavyweight cup, too, but our roster's up over 100 active members at this moment, so I needed to keep things getting too much like late 90s WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm still working on the brackets, so give me a couple more days! I've fallen behind on G1 and school work.</p>

And after the show, Eiji Hamacho somehow developed lupus. In an incident involving a seal. I am not drunk enough for this.

I've also decided to send Toshiki Shibanumo and American Optimus down to Hinote Dojo to help train some workers.

Speaking of Hinote Dojo, we have agreed to a developmental contract with Gonkuro Kamioka. If he's going to be in Hinote Dojo, why not offer him a deal?

And for some inexplicable reason, Marc DuBois' contract has expired. We are pursuing him.

After Kuemon Hotta and Tanyu Toshusai scored a surprising victory over the tag team champions in the Burning Heavyweight Tag Team Cup, it was announced that Cult of Adrenaline has challenged them to a match with the belts on the line. If Hotta and Toshusai don't win the Tag Team Cup, they'll face the champions at our November PPV, Everlasting Mission.

The big news after the show is that Marc DuBois tested positive for soft drugs. He's been suspended for 28 days; DuBois' response was to storm out of my office. Needless to say that since this happened less than a week into his contract and after jobbing two young lions to him so he could look great, I'm less than enthusiastic about this turn of events.

Also, before the show Sanetomo Shiraishi pulled a prank on Michel Bernard before the match. This lead to Bernard nearly starting a fight. I gave Shiraishi a stern warning; he responded well to it, but doesn't seem happy all the same.

El Diablo has also left the company. I hope he gained some useful experience here that can help him and ACPW.

Bear Bekowski is not going to be receiving a contract extension from SWF.

Jeffery McPeterson, infamously of the former MOSC, has now come back to the squared circle.

********

So, where are we now?

We just had our highest quality show yet main evented by our best match yet. In the past couple of weeks on the tour, we also had two of our previous four matches rated as a 90 (Kobe vs. Glenn and Kokan/Konda vs Hollow Country 7 (Monkey/Marihito)). Silencing Dragons is also our second most attended show this year, just 1600 behind #1, Sword of Destiny. Thanks to the new American PPV market, we've also set a new buyrate record at 2.43.

Our Team INSPIRE (Kikkawa and Iesada) vs. Cult of Adrenaline (Edison and Fugunaga) should be drawing to a close at the end of the year, as should our much hinted at Nakasawa vs. Okazaki feud (though that might extend to our February PPV).

Interestingly enough, after move Kikkawa and Iesada up and down the card a bit (not too drastically, but from "absolute main eventer" to "upper midcarder" position) - Iesada is the one who's on fire, with his overness at 86 vs Kikkawa's at 73. Iesada is actually the second most over person in the company at this point, only behind Nakasaw's 97.

Meanwhile, our Junior Division is probably more over - but still lagging behind the top of the heavyweights. Our biggest star on the junior side is new champ Magnum Kobe at 80; that puts him 7th in the company, between Fugunaga (81) and Tanyu Toshusai (77). Due to our current expanded roster, there are 18 main eventers - and 13 are heavies. The juniors are Kobe, Elemental III, Konda, Greg Black and - surprisingly - Adam Matraves.

It seems that no matter what happens, Kansuke Konda is continually getting over in the junior division. So we're going to give him a push. Kokan doesn't have quite the same major touch, but he's still gained popularity given his tag push with Konda. I'm not sure if that's sustainable.

I just completely stumbled upon a great tag team in Hollow Country 7 (Hell Monkey and Marihito Masuko) that I can give a good push to. Magnum Kobe finally won the Junior Championship, but Billy Russell is also in a position to finally get his chance at the belt.

Everything's not roses, though. Marc DuBois, one week into a five year contract, is showing an amazingly bad attitude. Hiroaki is halfway to disgruntled because he was asked to go to a time limit draw with Elemental as part of an attempt to legitimize the juniors (it didn't help much). Some younger workers have really gained in popularity, which isn't a bad thing except it leaves me concerned about their egos getting huge- and I had that exact thing happen in a 2010 game with the Keith Brothers. We have what feels like a big divide between the haves and the have nots - there's a bunch of new workers brought up to the roster, but they are all languishing in the opener without much to do but job to bigger stars. Kikkawa is on time decline - five years past his prime - and he's losing stats at a solid rate. Sanda is also on a similar time decline.

Fortunately, we have a very talented roster, so things should be interesting in good ways for the most part as we move forward.

11. In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Billy Russell defeated Sensational Dragon in 12:22 by submission with a Twisting Arm Lock. Rating: 82

The ego on Marc DuBois! Just signed a new contract and he's still using. You can't get mad when you need to change in the first place. Marc DeBois is talented but no one wants to push or keep him because of his attitude. I can't remember if anyone has every push him in a dynasty. Great show and Magnum Kobe winning the Burning Junior Championship is awesome!

That show concluded the appearances in BHOTWG by Duane Stone, Sean McFly, T-Rex, Tyson Baine, Angel De Mexico and Hijo Del Relampago.

X-Calibre, Man O'War and UK Dragon are down to their last appearances with us.

WLW has expanded to cult level popularity, while SWF falls to national level.

Tasuku Shinozuka, a free agent, has announced his forth-coming retirement.

There are rumors that PGHW will not extend Goemon Komiya's contract.

I'm a bit surprised by DuBois, but then again, that's what he does (I admittedly am used to him in TEW 2010, where he's not too bad).

Anyway, I'm taking the approach that we have to follow Japan's views of drug use like they are in real life, but we're trying to give him as much of a chance as we can. We did fire Arthur Dexter Bradley on his first offense last year - maybe that's the approach I should have taken, but given DuBois' obvious talent, I decided we should at least give him a chance. We'll see if it works out at all.

Thanks for the kind words on the show! I'm really excited with how it went, obviously. And I love having Magnum Kobe on board - I'm imagining him a bit like Kota Ibushi in NJPW (pre-concussion, of course). I've also spent the better part of a year pushing Billy Russell hard, though (he's yet to lose a singles match and has only been on the losing side in 2 multi-man tags). I don't know if I want to pull the trigger on him just yet, but it feels like if it's not now, it'll be never with a wasted push. I guess we'll see!

The latest new until we get to the beginning of the next month of game play.

UK Dragon, Man O'War and X-Calibre have all now left. On a related note, The Wild Cats, The DeColts and Los Monteros are all down to their last appearance in the company.

I've sent Sessue Kawate down to Hinote Dojo to help train people. That effectively breaks up his tag team with Sanetomo Shiraishi, who still has some value on the main roster right now.

Bryan Holmes has now left PGHW. If he were five years younger I'd be throwing money at him, but as it is, he doesn't even want to work a full schedule.

We've entered contract extension talks with Bairei Yasujiro.

Marat Khoklov is at the end of his contract; SWF has already reached out to him. I think that at nearly half a mill a year as a starting point, he's probably a bit too rich for our blood.

Koshiro Ino just won the TCW World Heavyweight Championship from Wolf Hawkins.

We've just made a developmental contract offer to Mutant, a graduate from the Piledriver School of Wrestling. With his size, hopefully he'll become a good worker if he learns from us.

Those are the last matches for The Wild Cats, Los Monteros, and the DeColts.

Kadonomaro Kamisaka has a simple zygomatic fracture and will be out for 16 days after a successful surgery.

A new tag team is formed between Kadonomaro Kamisaka and Murai Enomoto.

With Acid under contract with us, we decided to do a favor to him and pay for his surgery to treat his spinal injury. Unfortunately, this procedure failed and his recovery will take longer. It is also possible that he suffered more damage. At this point, we've agreed to mutually end his short-term contract and allow him to focus on healing. We've also given him a $20,000 bonus as a "thank you for being interested in working for us" award.
