EVen within the default Cornelverse you can send guys like Rocky Golden into development is he has enough space to develop and be happy. It really is just stat caps and worker personality that factors into a worker being called up. When it comes to mod making, it's definitely better to be true to the world as far as you can... and setting workers who have earned their popularity to actually have it, that's best for business. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Some NXT pushes might end up being a little out of sync with reality, but since we can't play as them anyways (due to them being a child company) then that really doesn't matter. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

My main reason for coming in here today was actually to comment on the Respect stat. While it's not a huge deal for the most part, it's one of those stats that is important when it comes to anywhere that could have the Young Lion system in play and is also important for road agents, so is good to have for long term games. AJ Styles has been seriously shorted on that, with only 25 points which almost makes him a Young Lion if it weren't for his age. He may not be the biggest star ever, but he does have a lot of respect in the wrestling world... at least 60.

Broadly speaking, I'd model the Respect stat based roughly on how it grows in the game. The more matches a worker has (or the more shows they've been on for non-wrestlers) the higher it should be, with a rough cap set based on the size of the company they've been working for. So a long time TNA worker could gain respect up to about B-... a top regional guy could gain up to maybe a C- just on the regional... and top guys for a National+ company could easily get up to 100 if they've earned it. And for every year a worker has been active in a major company they shoul dbe gaining a fair chunk of respect too, easily gaining at least 5 points a year with the WWE, particularly if they've performed well. I know the stat isn't the most important one in the game, not by a long shot, but getting it wrong can hurt in the long term and cause some odd behaviour in the short term too. So hopefully this helps. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

As for the chatter about gimmick types, it's always a tricky one. Keeping them simple is always a good thing but too simple can stifle creativity a bit too in case anyone is looking for ideas in the file. I like the alternative file that was made (by Mammoth, I think?) and will be using that in the CV97 update I'm working on myself. I think it's a great file and yeah... it'll take some work to do in one go, but hopefully it'll make for a better mod. I think it'd work great for this mod too, so hopefully you give it some consideration for the future if you've got the time. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

EDIT: Reputation is another minor but useful stat to keep an eye on too. In order to make it mean anything you should start it at 50 when a worker debuts and then add about 4 or 5 points per year for a worker who doesn't do anything bad, and take points away for workers who do bad things. Whether that be law issues for folks like Matt Hardy and Reby Skye or walking out of a company for any reason like CM Punk or a Wellness Policy violation like... well, I dunno if anyone has hit one recently. The point being, that when hiring goals come into effect and the like, this is one of the stats that can have an effect and should be looked at. Again, it's not a big stat to worry about but ignoring it can lead to some minor effects being ignored or some people not quite acting the way they should in-game.

EDIT2: Another thing that may be worth looking at are that stats of some veterans, particularly the retired and semi-retired ones. As awesome as guys like Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley have been at their peak, they aren't there any more. While they may be set as retired wrestlers, their stats are set as if they are at their peak, including a lot of the non-wrestling stats that are still used as a part of angles or in order to be a trainer in a dojo. For retired workers, it's particularly important to get their numbers right in the entertainment, camera and non-wrestling skills AND also remember to have their other skills decline as part of time decline and not being used. While I'm sure HBK could still have a great match, he's not going to be as good now as he was a few years ago and his stats should reflect that. And I think everyone knows about my feelings on Mick Foley's Star Quality, which is even lower now as he gets fatter and in worse shape now than he was as a wrestler. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> A dojo's Head Trainer only needs good stats in Basics/Psychology/Reputation/Respect in order to be a good trainer, which currently makes Mick Foley a better trainer than someone like Kurt Angle, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe and even Shawn Michaels in the mod as things stand. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

A last related note... Basics. Seems that there are very few people who are very high in basis, when in reality it's one of the easiest stats (probably the actual easiest) to actually raise. Scaling some people up in that particular stat certainly wouldn't hurt, particularly as it will have an influence on the quality of future debuting workers through dojos if there is a lack of high basics trainers. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

FINAL EDIT: Dragon Gate USA has waaaay too much prestige for a Small sized company, they should be more in line with the other small sized companies, particularly as they are pretty close to regional sized, at which point they'll get a prestige bump again and then be almost in line with the WWE in terms of prestige. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Thanks for all of that. I shall go through and have a look (and try) to get those more in line with what you've said. I honestly thought popularity had some bearing, but seeing as it doesn't and they are asking to be called up because of the stat changes I made to them this time around I shall go through and up all of NXT's overness (and maybe drop a few stats back to what they were so they don't end up getting annoyed).

Edit - The gimmicks file at this stage just doesn't look likely to happen as I only have a set number of hours a week I can work on this. To go through and do all that will mean definitely no March release - and as the plan is (currently) I finish up in March and take a break from modding for a while, at least until I start to find it fun again. Plans change, I may decide I will carry on in March for an April release, it just all depends how I feel at the time.

So I have just spent these last 2+ hours going through absolutely everyone in WWE, TNA, NJPW, AJPW & NOAH as well as anyone retired and editing Respect, Basics and other stat tweaks for them. Most of these promotions now have a majority above B- in basics (there are still a few lower ones in the C+/C- range).

I have also gone through and completely redone NXT with regards to popularity to both the promotion itself and each individual worker. People like Sami Callihan & El Generico are now in the E's so if they do go to ROH (example) they will slot into their upper midcard region easily enough.

I've still got AAA and CMLL to do as a priority but they can wait for another day because I am so mind numbingly bored that I can't look at another stat or number today!

So with respect and basics done for everyone in the top promotions around the world, the next task to undertake is having an unmasked wrestlers legacy continuing. It was something I've wanted to do since Octobers release but have never had the time to do it.

The way I am going to do this is to completely change the Default version of the wrestler as the masked version and set an alter ego that is unmasked in Mexico with 100% usage. This way the AI will use the unmasked version if they sign fora company. This means that the mask can be passed along from the default person to an "heir". It also means that the heir won't use the unmasked picture of the person. It may take a while but it's something I feel will improve the gameplay (certainly in Mexico).

Hopefully this should work ok!

Agreed! I'd hate to see you totally burn yourself out doing this. One thing I'd like to offer is organizing the title lineages. I'm wanting to organize everything alphabetically and then numerically, along with assigning some of the missing guys to their title reigns. Yoshihiro Takayama, El Samurai, and Kendo Kashin were repeat offenders when it came to not being linked up properly.

I'm actually surprised I forgot about her to be honest, even just to fill a personality role.

1 other thing I've done is added Jake Roberts, Warrior & Lita the the HOI. I know they don't "officially" get inducted until just before Wrestlemania but figured may as well add them now.

Agreed! I was going to go through the titles and ensure they were linked but think I may just do it a bit at a time.

Something you might want to take a look at after you recharge your batteries is the reputation stat for all the workers. If I'm not mistaken, rookies should be at 50%, while everyone else should be at 100%, and only lower than that if they have instigated negative incidents (i.e., someone failing a drug test, someone taking their ball and going home, etc).

It's not fun, that's for sure. If you get tired of doing 'em, feel free to send the data my way and I can work on it. Keep up the stellar work.

- Add Yutaka Yoshie to the data? He's a former IWGP Tag Champion (with Tanahashi, no less) and just recently came to AJPW to form a team with Akebono. They're the next challengers for the Unified Tag Titles.

- Kensuke Sasaki retired today.

I've gone through every title & tournament history for NJPW and (fingers crossed) everyone in the data who has held a belt is now linked to their reign and tidied up NJPW so their histories are uniformed and easier to read in order in the editor (couldn't believe how many were missing links!) I started on AJPW but think I'll leave that until tomorrow. I'll add Yutaka Yoshie to the data tomorrow too.

For the gimmicks, you might want to look at ones affiliated with the Undertaker, such as "Deadman," as they keep getting tagged as Gimmicky gimmicks, and Undertaker would be suffering penalties for having longer matches that he has at WrestleMania with a Gimmicky gimmick. Maybe set them as Weird or Unique gimmicks. In fact, you may want to look over the Gimmicky gimmicks as there are quite a few that really shouldn't be gimmicky, such as Turncoat, which also has a high risk rating for some strange reason. I'm guessing that's how it was in the Default C-Verse data.

Sorry to double post, but something that caught my eye:

-Kenn Doane should probably have his Ruthless, Egotistical and Bold personality traits raised given all the out of character interviews he's given, and how he tries to call attention to himself, then turn around and say "Oh, I'm not trying to get another booking! I'm just telling it like it is!" <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I wouldn't worry about the double post. If you edit a post after I've read it I might miss something! I shall take a look at the gimmicks after title lineages. Even if I can change a few to get them working with the guys using them it might play better. I've been having a look into people's personalities following my cousin meeting half the TNA roster on the UK tour. He's a big fan of the Bromans (go figure) and said that Robbie E was a complete dick when he met him, yet people like Eric Young and Magnus were really cool with him and his wife, stopping for photo's and to talk with them. Icarus and Eddie Kingston are other's that need their "douche" levels raised by all accounts. Seems Kingston hates everyone but Eddie Kingston from his shoot interview!

This is actually turning out to be the biggest update since the first 2 releases. Currently the worker count stands at 1327, completely redone Respect and Basics for the top promotions (work in progress still though), 2 new promotions added to Europe (thanks to VampiroEl), additional alter ego's, updated & additional pictures, Mexico overhaul in terms of masks, NXT overhaul, various minor fixes and currently working on sorting out title lineages. After which, like I said above I will make an attempt to tidy the gimmicks file up.

EDIT: Title lineages all link up in all areas! there may be a few still lurking that my tired eyes didn't see, but 3 hours it took just to go through and make sure. I started to tidy the lineages page in the editor - but after Mexico and Japan, I couldn't be arsed renaming everything. It's neater than it was lets put it that way. I've also changed a few peoples personality (ones I've heard from people). Next up, a gimmick clean up!

Not important as of now, but will potentially be in the future:

"Kenta Kobashi announced that he will be holding his own self-produced show on June 8th called “Fortune Dream”, or FD for short, at the Korakuen Hall. Kobashi elaborated further and said that he wants this to be its own brand in the future.

The main goal is for Kobashi to book matches between promotions and bring together various wrestlers to compete. Kobashi is currently in the approval stages for bringing in talent and that he is looking for at least 5-6 matches for the show.

Following his retirement last year, May 2013, Kobashi stated that he did not want to continue being involved in pro-wrestling. Kobashi stated that he is looking to open doors and remove the boundaries between promotions. He is also looking to give any young wrestlers out there the chance to challenge themselves in new ways. Kobashi appears to be very enthusiastic about the this project and has stated that he will do his best to see FD 30, 50, and 100."

From the sound of "wanting it to be a brand" this seems to be a full-fledged promotion in the works.

While I may not agree with everything Jim Cornette says, he is right on when he talks about how guys learning to play a character rather than learning to be a worker is not a good thing. It seems that Robbie E learned how to play the character so well that he doesn't know where it ends and begins! As for Eddie Kingston, I never got what the big draw was to him. He looks like he should be asking me if I want fries with that.

I've gone through PhenomenalPats free worker cuts and added so far around 153 of the best cuts. I want to get that to 200 by release (although not a priority).

I'm also going to attempt to find some myself in the future. I had around 100 or so that I had cut to CW background a year or so ago so may go through them and re-cut some (again, not a priority at this stage).

I've gone through and edited/deleted some of the gimmicks, but still not 100% happy with them. Mammoths gimmick file would be great to use (as Derek B suggested) but I just really wouldn't be able to get the time reassign over 1300 worker gimmicks, not to mention having to then go into those that are employed and re-add again for their contract to show a gimmick before next release (I now only have 2 or 3 spare days until the end of the month to work on the data).

Thanks to PhenomenalPat, FWE will definitely be in March's release (I made 1 or 2 changes to the roster). There may be another promotion or 2 added that were submitted by PhenomenalPat, but this will depend on how much time I get next Friday to work on the data.

The release is scheduled for 28th February/1st March and like I said is the biggest update to date due mostly to the fact I was forced to take leave from work so had nothing to do for the past week.

EDIT: Bit of an issue with W-1, in sense that in real life they have no titles, but TEW always sets belts up for them - and most of the time they don't go with the style of the promotion. Should I just create belts from the outset (the game usually creates 4 titles). Suggestions welcome on this one.
