First step first, ignore the title. Lol that's just my way of catching your attention I suppose. Really what this is going to be, is a regular diary of my football experience. If you want to follow your team through the diary as well, feel free to request information and I'll post according to your team as well.

Secondly, for the first four years of in game material, we'll be following closely a running back named Neil Ingram (no relation... haha... haha... ha.) And at first the diary might not be so in depth as far as character development, but I might change that as I go along. Eh.

Thirdly, after RB Ingram is moving on to bigger and better things, we'll also be following the FNFL to see if he gets a spot in the draft. Fantasy NFL. But for the sake of conversation, let's just called it the NFL.

Fourth(ly?), I'm creating a made up school to take over some no name school (Middle Tennessee... really? Middle? Why not top, or bottom, or left, or right? Why the middle? Sigh...) and created my D-2 college that I played football at, Geneva Bible. I couldn't remember that our motto was Golden Tornado, so I made it up as I went... and I came up with Cruisaders. Sounds better than Golden Tornadoes if you ask me...

Fifthly, with all of these disclaimers, if you still somehow want to follow... yay! And I look forward to walking through this journey with you guys! Next post will be about the actual game.

<div style="text-align:center;">Here's a (quick) back-story on Neil.

Neil finishes high school in 2008, gets recruited from Florida to play at a Christian College (Geneva) in Pennsylvania in 2008. Neil was always really athletic but never focused on any sport specifically other than basketball. Neil thought he'd give it a try, since the coach obviously saw something in him.

He arrived during their training camp, where he spent 6 weeks in training with the team. The Coach was impressed enough to start him as Running Back for their team instead of Red Shirting him like Neil thought Coach would do.

During the first season Neil was there, Coach Demarco booked a back and forth game with Toledo while their long time rivals Troy were anxious to get their hands on them. The season prior, and for the past few years, Geneva has yet to beat Troy. This season though they were coming to our yard, so Coach was hoping to do some damage and not leave embarrassed this year. Coach also threw in two out of conference games against Navy, and Akron hoping to get two easy wins to add to the OOC game against Toledo.

Akron vs. Geneva Bible

Week 1: Akron travels to our place, and at halftime we were up 16-3. It was looking really promising for us, as Leonard Crooks (k) was nailing kick, after kick putting up 3 field goals and an extra point up after Larry Stevens (QB) connected with Craig Dunn (WR) for the only touchdown of the half with 30 seconds left in the first half. Third quarter seemed like a defensive struggle, until with 3 minutes left, Akron stepped their game up and scored two touchdowns before the end of the 3rd quarter, putting them up 17-16. Another touchdown later, and Crooks kicking his final field goal to end the game, Akron defeated us 24-19.

QB Stevens went 13 for 35, for 145 yards, 1 TD and 1 Interception and 2 terrible passes.

RB Ingram ran the ball 31 times for 99 yards.

Our defense got 3 interceptions off the opposing QB and sacked him 3 times. We also caused 3 fumbles while not fumbling the ball once ourselves.

WR Joel Cotton bruised his tail bone, while OG Ellis Barnett pulled his hamstring. Both seem to be okay though, and should play next week.

Week 2: Geneva Bible vs. South Florida

Flying down to South Florida, their stadium held around 36,000 members. A bit bigger than our 20,000 one. Coach warned us, they had a really good team and this was going to be one hell of a game, but the reality of it didn't hit until halftime when we were down 24-0. Our defense just couldn't stop them, and our offense didn't have an answer. They went on during the second half, and did the exact same thing to us. Leonard Crooks kicked both field goals and made them for our only 6 points, after getting destroyed by USF, 48-6.

Our defense tried to hit hard, causing 2 fumbles and 3 sacks. Our defense however, did give up a whopping 6 (yes, S.I.X.) touchdowns, and 4 of them were running TD's.

QB Stevens went 14 for 24, with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception while getting sacked 4 times.

RB Ingram ran the ball 28 times, for a measly 76 yards and a whopping 3 fumbles.

FB Charles Lopez ran the ball 5 times for 15 yards.

The only thing we could do about this game, was put it behind us and hope we never have to encounter something as terrifying as that again.

Our OG Winston Hamilton has a stress fracture in his forearm, so he won't be playing next week while our OLB Gregory Kane with his broken toe plans on playing next week. Our ILB Cory Green sprained his ACL, thank God it wasn't a tear, and wants to play this week but Coach probably won't let him.

This game doesn't get much better than that for them. But just like football, we showed that underestimating a team could cost you much more than you expected. In the first quarter, our defenses fought keeping it a field goal battle, 6-3 with Central Florida in the lead. To start off the second quarter, we pushed it to the goal line and RB Neil Ingram ran it in for 3 yards and his first running touchdown of the season. Central Florida responded with a touchdown of their own, but then a pass from QB James Givens to RB Neil Ingram recaptured the lead. A 61 YD pass TD from Central Florida was their response, and a field goal from Leonard Crooks with 10 seconds left in the half was the only thing we could respond with, taking the lead for the 3rd time in the quarter and ending the half, 20-19. The 2nd half would show our defensive battle stopping Central Florida from scoring at all. A 55 yard run from RB Neil Ingram, and a 27 YD field goal from Leonard Crooks finished the game for us, 30-19. Our first win of the season, over a pretty good team and a team that was highly favored over us gave us a lot of confidence going into Week 4 to take out one of our divisional foes, Florida International. We sat our main QB: L. Stevens and gave J. Givens a shot. What he produced was a game nobody expected. QB J. Givens went 15 for 26 with 216 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. RB N. Ingram ran 34 times for 204 yards, for 2 touchdowns. He also got Player of the Game. Our Defense forced 2 fumbles, 1 interception, and 4 sacks. Our K L. Crooks has continued to amaze, still yet to miss a kick. His longest field goal is 44 yards. ILB Cory Green still has a sprained ACL. Green still wants to play, but coach will probably not put him in. OG Ellis Barnett went to the doctors, found out he has severe spinal trauma with his spine, he'll be out for a couple of months. OLB Gregory Kane didn't play this week because of his broken toe, but coach says he should be in next week. Nailing a 31 YD pass to WR Brenton Rodriguez in the first quarter and our kicker, Leonard Crooks was on point again kicking a field goal from 26 yards and 37 yards. Florida International could only respond with a field goal before the end of the half, with us leading 13-3. Starting the 2nd half, QB Paul Garza stepped in for 2 plays, pitching to RB Neil Ingram for a TD. Florida International could only get two other field goals off by the time the game ended, with Geneva Bible on top: 20-9. QB L. Stevens went 11 for 21 with 114 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions with 1 fumble (not loss). While QB P. Garza threw 2 for 2 with 4 yards and 1 touchdown, also getting sacked one time. RB N. Ingram ran 34 times for 115 yards and 0 touchdowns. He also got Player of the Game again. Our Defense forced 1 fumble, 2 interceptions, and a mind blowing 9 sacks. ILB Cory Green and his sprained ACL is doing better, but Coach told him he'll be sitting out at least another week until he can run through a full practice without it hurting. OG Ellis Barnett is down on what the docs said about not playing for a couple of months, but he seems to be recovering nicely. It could be sooner. WR Joel Cotton is seeing the sidelines again with his second injury, a stress fractuce in his Elbow. Coach will probably sit him this week just to be sure he's fine. OT Dan Crocker has a deviated septum injury to his nose and Coach will probably sit him with Cotton, seeing how they pull through this next week. CB Gary Conway has Bursitis in his Elbow, but docs say it's nothing too serious and nothing that could potentially keep him out of Week 5's game.</div>

Louisiana-Laf was talked about as taking the Sun Belt conference by storm, and was rated #1 in the conference. We were lucky if we finished 7th. So going into this game, we were yet again the underdogs fighting to make a name for ourselves.

And boy did we. A 4 yard run by RB Neil Ingram set us up by a touchdown in the early 2nd quarter, but a quick return touchdown by Louisiana-Laf showed us they were willing to fight. Or so we thought. In the 3rd quarter, Ingram ran another touchdown, this time 80 yards, while QB L Stevens threw a TD to WR Brenton Rodriguez, his 2nd passing TD catch, then an interception ran back for a touchdown by ILB Robert Miller and finally a 31 yard field goal by our K L. Crooks. All unanswered. The final score when it was all said and done, was Geneva 31, Louisiana-Laf 7.

QB L. Stevens went 6 for 22, for 96 yards, a touchdown, 0 Interceptions, and a sack.

RB N. Ingram ran 32 times for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also got Player of the Game, the third time in a row now.

Our Defense forced 4 interceptions, 1 ran back for a TD, and another mind blowing number - 7 sacks.

ILB Cory Green sprained his ACL which has kept him off the field for a couple weeks now, but after this week of practice, Coach finally decided to put him in play and feel out how he does in game situations. OG Ellis Barnett unfortunately has came to a stand still with his healing, his severe spinal trauma hasn't been affected much this past week. Week to week basis is really all we will know. WR Joel Cotton's elbow is still bothering him so Coach will sit him this week, again... just to be sure he's fine. OT Dan Crocker and his deviated septum injury to his nose hasn't gotten any better either, so Crocker is in the same position he was last week. DT John Bray dislocated his shoulder during the game, and is out indefinitely for the next week. FS Alfred Hines has a skull fracture in his head.

Finally Geneva wasn't being talked about as the underdog, and we might have let that get to our heads. We went into the matchup with Louisiana-Monroe with the concept that they'd be as easy as last week, only to find out what happens when you get prideful...

The first two quarters were a defensive struggle, neither team could get any offense going until RB Neil Ingram broke free with a 16 YD run for a TD. At half we were up 7-0, but Coach warned us that we had to start playing with all of our hearts, because what we were playing wasn't going to get us the win. I don't think anyone took him seriously.

At the start of the 3rd Quarter, Louisiana-Monroe pushed the ball up the field in under a minute and got a TD. Their kicker missed the extra point so we held the lead up until QB L. Stevens threw an interception late in the 3rd, and Monroe's defense ran it back for another TD. They went for 2 to try to put themselves up by 2 touchdowns but failed. The last quarter consisted of two field goals for them, as our offense gave up interception after interception, two of them to be exact in the 4th quarter.

Our turnovers lost that game, with 3 fumbles, 3 interceptions... we didn't play like we wanted the win, and so we got the loss. This game was ours for the taking, and we didn't take it.

QB L. Stevens went 14 for 34, for 146 yards, 0 touchdowns, 3 Interceptions, 2 sacks, and 5 terrible passes.

RB N. Ingram ran 29 times for 111 yards and 1 touchdown. He also was responsible for one of the fumbles, and the only fumble that was lost.

Our Defense however, had 1 forced fumble and a high number that's becoming normal - 6 sacks.

OG Ellis Barnett is still trying to heal up, getting better much more rapidly than anyone expected. He could see playing time much more sooner than the next month and a half. OT Dan Crocker and his deviated septum injury to his nose has gotten a lot better, and Coach should be playing him this week. DT John Bray is trying to play through his dislocated shoulder but Coach is still slightly hesistant to put him in. He might see playing time, but chances are he'll get another week to recover before Coach throws him to the wolves. FS Alfred Hines and his skull fracture to his head is getting much better, should be playing this week or next. FB Charles Lopez has an injury to his head but is desperately wanting to play, Coach will make a decision last minute.

Coming into our Stadium, Troy had a lot to deal with in terms of crowds. Our crowd I still stand by, is one of the loudest crowds out there. Troy could barely hear themselves speak, let alone get their game plan together. We hit harder today then we've ever hit, we played harder than we ever played, and we left it all on the field like Coach told us to. This way if we lose, we know there's nothing we could have done differently.

RB Neil Ingram started off the first quarter with the only touchdown to be scored the entire game, running it in for a TD. Troy's kicker put up a 22 yarder, 28 yarder, and a 21 yarder collectively to end the 2nd half 9-7. We were able with 0:28 seconds left on the clock to hit the game winning field goal in the 4th quarter to bring us up 10-9 and to end the game.

QB L. Stevens went 8 for 21, for a measly 73 yards, 0 touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, and 2 sacks. The pass defense was ready to play.

RB N. Ingram ran 37 times for 160 yards and 1 touchdown. He also was responsible for the only fumble of the game, and also captured the Player of the Game award, again.

Our Defense however, had 3 interceptions and 3 sacks.

And for the first time this entire season, our K L. Crooks not only missed a FG but missed 2 of them, going 1/3 in FG's. The pressure was felt by everyone.

OG Ellis Barnett is on his way to playing, and the doctors incredibly say it could just be a matter of weeks. FS Alfred Hines is at the same status, not sure if he'll be put in this week or wait a week. FB Charles Lopez wasn't played last week due to his head injury, and this week it looks to be the same result. SS Edward Reese will not be playing this week because of an Ankle Nerve Injury. He should be fine in a couple of weeks though.</div>

Traveling out to North Texas, this seemed to be another battle we were set as the underdogs in. During the first quarter, N. Texas got a TD, and during the 2nd quarter they kicked a field goal. Our offense was being shut down hugely by the North Texas defense.

The third quarter came and went, and we remained scoreless. We pushed it towards the red zone once, but then QB Larry Stevens got picked off and we found ourselves in the 4th quarter. During the 4th quarter however, things started to change. 8 minutes in, and QB L. Stevens connects with WR Russell Sears for a 53 yard TD pass! Down by 3, with 0:04 left on the clock our K. Leonard Crooks goes out there to attempt a 47 yard field goal.

He kicks it up, and it's good! We tie the game and for the first time in the history of Geneva football, we go into overtime! The crowd is stunned in silence after the kick, but they quickly get back into the motion cheering on their beloved North Texas team, not all hope is loss! After the flip, Geneva gets the ball. We push it down the field, get into the red zone and Stevens is able to connect with WR Craig Dunn in the end zone for a 20 yard pass, and a touchdown to win the game! 17-10!

QB L. Stevens went 19 for 32, for a whopping 264 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 Interception, and 4 sacks! That's the most he had passed his entire career with Geneva!

RB N. Ingram ran 29 times for 93 yards and 0 touchdowns. He also fumbled the ball, again!

Our Defense however, had 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble but for the first time, 0 sacks.

Our Kicker Leonard Crooks missed two field goals again, but the one he did make was the game winning field goal, and when you can make it during that much pressure where it really counts, that's all that really matters. That was also the longest kick he's kicked this entire season.

All of the injuries get an extra week to heal this up and coming week due to the bye week.

Meanwhile Week 9 was a bye week for our guys to have a chance to heal. I noticed scheduling every game back to back so much with not too much of a break was a terrible idea for my team. I'll have to book smarter next year. We're also not doing too shabby for a team of our caliber, going 5-3 so far. However we still have Arkansas State, Navy, Florida Atlantic, and the deadly Toledo before we can claim to have too good of a season. The only real game I'm concerned about would be Toledo, the rest should be easy wins.</div>

Coach always told us not to watch the Sports Center, but somebody did. And they shared an interview that interested the whole team. We didn't tell Coach about it, but we found out Arkansas State told everyone we'd be a win on their record, even if they never got a win anywhere else. We were the "easy" team...

Think again.

Going out in the first quarter, we forgot to play football. We were so focused on trying to hit and hurt everyone, that our offense struggled. Theirs didn't. They scored a touchdown to finish the first quarter and kicked a field goal in the 2nd, taking an early 10-0 lead. With 0:17 seconds left in the half, QB Larry Stevens found WR Russell Sears in the end zone to get a touchdown and shorten the lead to 3 at the end of the half.

During halftime, Coach knew something was up. He didn't question it, but he said whatever it was we needed to snap out of it and play football. This wasn't cutting it, and this wasn't going to get us a win. At the start of the 3rd quarter, RB Neil Ingram ran for a 2 yard TD, and a 33 yard TD back to back. Arkansas kicked a field goal to end the 3rd quarter, but the lead was 21-13. In the 4th quarter, Arkansas State scored their last touchdown bringing it to 21-19 and had one shot to bring in 2 points instead of 1, but our defense was able to stop them. We ran out the clock, and ended the game.

QB L. Stevens went 15 for 28 with 162 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 Interception, and 1 sack.

RB N. Ingram ran 29 times for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also fumbled the ball, again..

FB C. Lopez was in the game for the first time in a few weeks, and he was targeted one time for 4 yards, but fumbled on his play. WR R. Sears also fumbled the ball.

Our Defense however, had 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles and a total of 6 sacks.

C Darryl Martinez is struggling with an injury to his Clavicle, docs say it's a fracture. He could be out a few weeks. Everyone else is pretty healthy besides that. SS Edward Reese is excited to play now that his ankle is all healed up.

Week 11:

Geneva Bible (26) at Navy (45)

This game was something else. In fact, it's the day after and we still aren't entirely sure what happened. Two field goals in the first quarter by Crooks put us up 6-0, then three back to back touchdowns in the 2nd quarter shocked our defense and with a field goal to end the quarter, we were still behind 21-9.

At halftime, Coach told us to shake it off and come out playing hard during the second half. We did exactly that and triumphantly made our way down the field, only to get an interception on the 6 yard line. What followed looked more like a nightmare, two touchdowns, a field goal... and all for Navy. By the time the 4th quarter started, only Crooks had points on the board for us and we were down 38-9. Crooks again showed his magic nailing a field goal to shorten the lead (however, not by much) 38-12. RB Neil Ingram broke free during a 45 yard run for a TD bring it 38-19. It looked like we might have made a comeback, but Navy shut that down really quick with a TD of their own. We scored the final touchdown with 0:17 seconds left in the 4th on a hail mary pass from Stevens to Dunn 74 yards, bringing the final score 45 to our measly 26.

QB L. Stevens tried to step it up this game, and went 24 for 35 with 349 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 Interception, and 5 sacks. This is the most yards he's thrown for the entire season.

RB N. Ingram ran 27 times for 83 yards and 1 touchdown. While he didn't fumble the ball (that was Dunn's doing again) the running game was stopped big time during this game.

FB C. Lopez was given his first running play since his injury but only captured 2 yards with it.

Our Defense didn't really show up much. We had 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 1 sack. Which seems like they played much better than they actually did. Let's be real, they gave up a total of 6 touchdowns, and 523 yards. Hopefully that'll be the worst they do all year. We looked like the same Geneva that played USF in Week 2.

C Darryl Martinez is still struggling with that fracture to his Clavicle. Now that SS Reese is healthy, it looks like it's SS Hernandez's turn to get injured with a pulled hamstring. Our Strong Safety slot just seems dangerous, if this keeps up we'll have to work on that.</div>

Our only focus this game was bouncing back from our last week. We had to lower our head and focus on the game in front of us, Florida Atlantic would be no push-over.

Going into the 1st half, Florida Atlantic scored right off the bat. Crooks kicked a field goal, but this game was already starting to mimic last week in a way that was most unappealing to our sidelines. During the 2nd quarter, the only thing our offense could seem to do was set up Crooks for his 2nd Field Goal limiting Florida Atlantic's lead by 1, 7-6.

The third quarter was eerily similar, except for the fact that we couldn't even get within a field goal length from their goal line. Luckily our defense showed up to play and kept them out of ours as well. The 4th quarter was something different though. Two back to back field goals in the first 10 minutes set up what looked like a game ending run for Florida Atlantic. With 3 minutes left in the game, we had to settle for a field goal and still were behind FAU, 13-9. Surprisingly we got the ball back with a little over a minute, and Stevens connected with Cotton in the end zone, thank God he's back from his injury, for a 41 yard TD and 1:09 left on the clock. We took the lead for the first time the entire game, 16-13, and with a little over a minute left, hope seemed bleak for Florida Atlantic.

However, Florida Atlantic started pushing down the field and with 0:03 seconds left they were about to break the halfway mark. With one last desperation throw, they tossed up a hail mary and to the delight of our sidelines, it was intercepted by DE Earl Sewell! Sewell ran it all the way back, 64 yards to the end zone to end the game! 23-13!

QB L. Stevens tried to stay on that level he threw for last week, but went 18 for 45 with 298 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 Interception, and 0 sacks. Not too shabby.

RB N. Ingram ran 28 times for 96 yards and 0 touchdowns. He was stopped from getting much gains on the ground, but the terrible habit came back and he fumbled twice.

Our Defense came back this game, with 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 4 sacks. And instead of allowing 6 touchdowns, they only allowed 1.

Both of our Free Safeties, Leon Sherrill and Alfred Hines both pulled their groins. Leon seems to be taking it better than Hines, and Hines might actually be sitting out this next week. SS Hernandez is fighting through his hamstring issues, but Coach still wants to give it another week to recover. OG Winston Hamilton has a torn tendon in his foot, so he will be out for a couple of weeks.

They announced the award finalists this week. Our own DT Steven Reynolds was nominated for the Outland Trophy Award. Our RB Neil Ingram was nominated for the Doak Walker Award.

Week 13:

Toledo (6) at Geneva Bible (17)

Toledo came to our yard this week, and we were ready. After our tough fight against Florida Atlantic, we were more than welcome to enjoy a home game.

Two field goals in the first quarter, one from each team, brought us to a tied score of 3-3. During the 2nd quarter, our defense showed their power and forced a fumble, running it back by DE William Tapia to the end zone for a touchdown! Later in the quarter, WR Russell Sears caught a 33 yard pass from QB Paul Garza in the end zone for the only passing touchdown of the game. The third quarter were just defensive struggles and the 4th quarter only gave Toledo once shot at a field goal, which they took and made. The game ended, Toledo 6 - Geneva 17.

QB L. Stevens went 12 for 20 with 206 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 sack.

2nd String QB P. Garza threw 2 for 2 for 42 yards and 1 touchdown.

RB N. Ingram ran 32 times for 80 yards and 0 touchdowns.

Our Defense hit hard this game with 1 interception, 1 forced fumble ran back for a touchdown, and 4 sacks. They didn't allow a single touchdown, in fact Toledo didn't get past their 25 yard line the entire game.

OLB Gregory Kane was our player of the week and the key support of our defense, getting 6 tackles, 3 sacks and 3 stuffs.

Unfortunately neither of our nominated guys were able to capture the award, but congratulations on the nominations!

A meeting was called today to tell us, we were Bowl Bound! The New Orleans bowl invited us to participate and take on Texas Tech.

The news was awesome, but according to our sports network stations, Texas Tech was the overwhelming favorite in this match up. We tried really hard not to let that get in our heads, but everybody was wondering in the back of their minds, could we stop them? There was only one way to find out...

New Orleans Bowl

Geneva Bible (10) vs. Texas Tech (40)

Texas Tech came out strong and heavy, and while we did a couple 3 and outs, Texas Tech scored on both of their possessions. In the 2nd quarter, Texas Tech scored again, and added a field goal to the damage. At the start of the half, they were leading 24-0.

The third quarter wasn't much different. At the start, Texas Tech drove twice to our endzone and again, unstoppably scored both times. At the end of the quarter, Crooks was able to sneak in a 29 yard field goal to bring the score 38-3.

The 4th quarter was a little different. Our defense started stopping their drives but it was too little, too late. An 86 yard intereception return by Reese got our team in the groove, but they were quickly shut out when QB Lopez got stuffed in the back field for a safety.

We just couldn't get a grove going. We lost the game 40-10, an embarressment for our establishment. This might have been the toughest game that we truly deserved to lose, that we played all season. That's okay though, we will learn from this. We will get bigger, better, stronger... and we'll be back, next season.

In other news, the National Championship was held by the Rose Bowl in which Virginia Tech defeated South Carolina, 38-20. Congratulations to Virginia Tech for winning it all this year.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Detroit Lions

San Francisco played Detroit Week 7 and won 26-20. During the first quarter, Joique Bell ran the ball in for a touchdown and to end the quarter, Stafford connected with WR Conner Vernon for a second TD. In the 2nd, San Fran's Kicker, Mare, kicked two field goals to bring the score 6-14. In the third, Stafford connected with Reggie Bush to increase their lead 21-6. In the 4th, Detroit Kicker, David Akers increased the lead with a field goal. With 1:13 left, Kaepernick caught Frank Gore in the end zone for a touchdown. 13-24. They attempted an onside kick, but failed to get the ball back as the time ran out.

Winner: Detroit Lions, 24-13.

St. Louis Rams vs. New York Giants

Two offense heavy teams connect for the first time this season. In the 1st quarter, RB Chase Reynolds runs 15 yards for a touchdown putting the Rams up, 7-0. Willis McGahee however evens the score, putting 7 up for the Giants to end the first. During the 2nd quarter, the Rams nail a field goal, and then Sam Bradford connects with David Nelson. With 0:04 seconds left in the half, the Giants nail a 47 yard field goal to bring the deficit smaller, 17-10 Rams. During the third quarter, Andre Brown runs the ball in to bring the score tied, 17-17. The fourth quarter however, the Rams connected with 3 field goals and a Chase Reynolds run for a TD, while the Giants couldn't score.

Winner: St. Louis Rams, 33-17.

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

During the regular season, Flacco and the Ravens have played Campbell and his Browns twice. They've both won a game. During the ultimate tie breaker, who will take the lead? During the 1st quarter, Campbell connects with Jordan Cameron in the end zone for 7. Flacco ties it up, finding Jacoby Jones for 35 yards. In the 2nd quarter, Shayne Graham gives 3 for Cleveland, while Flacco finds Ray Rice for 7. To finish the half, Trent Richardson paints on 7 more for Cleveland, bringing the score 17-14 at the half. In the third, Tucker finds 3 for Baltimore. In the 4th, Brandon Jackson with a 2 yard run, gives Cleveland the lead, 24-17 with 10 minutes to play. Baltimore pushes it up the field but settles for 3 with a field goal, Cleveland still in the lead 24-20. Cleveland tries to hold the ball, but have to kick it with 3 minutes left on the clock. Baltimore pushes it up the field, and Flacco finds Marlon Brown for a touchdown! 27-24 Baltimore with 2 minutes left. Cleveland pushes it up the field, but fail to convert a 4th down as the time runs out.

Winner: Baltimore Ravens, 27-24.

New York Jets vs. San Diego Chargers

For the first time during this season, Sanchez and the Jets get to play the #1 defense in the conference, #2 in the league, the San Diego Chargers. Rivers has been out for much of the season with a fractured hip, so the offense of the Chargers has been struggling, but with a defense like the one they have, it's hard to think they are the underdogs. During the first, San Diego gets on board with 7 early as Le'Ron McClain runs the ball into the end zone. In the 2nd, Danny Woodhead pains 7 more, and Nick Folk kicks 3 points for the Jets, 14-3. Rivers is back in the game, finds Keenan Allen for 13 yards and 7 points. Geno Smith throws for the Jets, and finds Hanna in the end zone to end the half down, 10-21. The 2nd half, the Jets remained scoreless and they never even got passed their own 45 yard line, while Woodhead put up 7, and Novak kicked two field goals for 6 more to win the game.

Winner: San Diego Chargers, 34-10.

Divisional

Detroit Lions vs. Atlanta Falcons

Last time these two teams met in the season, Stafford and the Lions defeated Ryan and the Falcons. Detroit, currently having the best offense in the league, hope to retain that winning record. The Lions kicker Akers kick a field goal early to take the lead, but it doesn't last long when Matt Ryan finds Roddy White in the endzone for 7. Another field goal from Detroit ends the 1st. During the 2nd, Ryan finds Julio Jones for 31 yards in the endzone. Stafford fires back to Kris Durham for 32 yards to end the half, 14-13. The Lions offense stopped there. Steven Jackson ran the ball 58 yards for 7 more, Bryant kicks a field goal for 3 more, and then Steven Jackson ends it with a 1 yard touchdown run, finishing the game.

Winner, and going on to the NFC Championship: Atlanta Falcons, 31-13.

St. Louis Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals

Like before, these two teams have met before with each getting a win over the other. The ultimate tie breaker commences now. Can the Rams take control against the #1 defense in the league, the Cardinals? In the 1st quarter, the Cardinals are out with a vengeance. Derek Hagan catches a 13 yard pass from Carson Palmer for 7, Jeff Fuller catches 2 to add 7 more points, and then Alfonso Smith runs 13 yards to bring the official score 21-0 at the start of the 2nd. In the 2nd, David Nelson catches a pass from Bradford to put 7 up for the Rams, and Carpenter kicks 3 points for Arizona to end the first half. During the 3rd, Rashard Mendenhall catches a 7 yard pass from Palmer for 7, and Carpenter kicks another field goal. In the 4th, LaRon Byrd catches Drew Stanton's pass for 7 more points, 41-7. However, with 4 minutes left, Bradford connects with Brian Quick for 17 yards and 7 points. Bradford pushes it back up the field with 0:38 seconds left and connects with David Nelson for another 7 points, but the rally is too little, too late.

Winner and facing the Falcons in the NFC Championship: Arizona Cardinals, 41-21.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Tennessee Titans

These two teams haven't played each other yet. They are both Offensive teams. In the 1st, Ray Rice runs in for 7, but Justin Tucker missed the extra point. Jacoby Jones caught Flacco's pass to take an early lead, 14-0. Jake Locker connects with Kevin Walter for 10 yards to end the 1st, and add 7 points to the Titans. In the 2nd quarter, it was all Titans with Javon Ringer running in a touchdown, and Rob Bironas kicking a 51 yard field goal to take the lead 17-13. In the 3rd, Chris Johnson runs in 7 more points for the Titans, 24-13, but Baltimore fires back when Flacco connects with Chad Johnson for a touchdown, 24-20. In the fourth, Baltimore's Ray Rice runs in for a touchdown to take the lead 27-24 and only 1:05 left on the clock. The Titans start moving their way up the field, using all three of their timeouts, but they get stopped and are forced to rely on Rob Bironas for a 38 yarder, and Rob nails it! 27-27 to end the game and force it into overtime! Titans win the toss, and choose to receive. After a kickoff, the Titans get the ball on their own 17. In the 1st play of overtime, Jake Locker gets picked off by Jimmy Smith and the Ravens run it back for a touchdown to end the game!

Winner in Overtime and going to the AFC Championship: Baltimore Ravens, 33-27.

San Diego Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins

During the regular season, Miami topped San Diego. Can they beat the defense of the Chargers again, or will Rivers and the Chargers make their name known? In the 1st quarter, the Dolphins Brent Grimes intercepts the ball and runs it back 32 yards for a touchdown! 7-0 to start the 2nd, but Woodhead puts 7 up for the Chargers with an 8 yard run. Lamar Miller runs 8 yards himself for a touchdown, but Caleb Sturgis missed the extra point. 13-7 at the half. In the 3rd quarter, Danny Woodhead runs in another touchdown, while Rivers finds Phillips in the end zone. 21-13. In the 4th, two field goals shorten the lead from 21-13 to 21-19. However, Danny Woodhead buries the hatchet with a great run for a touchdown to win the game.

Winner and playing the Ravens in the AFC Championship: San Diego Chargers, 28-19.

Conference Championships

NFC Championship:

Atlanta Falcons vs. Arizona Cardinals

These teams have not faced in the regular season. Can Matt Ryan and the Falcons exploit the #1 defense in the Cardinals? In the 1st quarter, Bryant kicks 3 for Atlanta, and Patrick DiMarco runs the ball to tack on 7 more taking an early lead, 10-0. Alfonso Smith runs 2 yards for a touchdown to add 6 for Arizona, until Dan Carpenter's extra point was blocked. In the 2nd, Rashard Mendenhall adds a true 7 for Arizona, taking the lead 13-10. Julio Jones catches Matt Ryan's pass in the end zone for 7. Dan Carpenter nails two field goals, and Roddy White catches a 10 yarder from Matt Ryan to end the half, 24-19 Falcons. The 3rd quarter was scoreless, and in the 4th, Arizona made their presence known. Carson Palmer catches Larry Fitzgerald for 5 yards in the end zone, and they convert the 2 point conversion. 27-24. Dan Carpenter adds two field goals to the damage to end the game.

NFC Champion of 2008: Arizona Cardinals, 33-24.

AFC Championship:

San Diego Chargers vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Chargers beat the Ravens during the regular season, while this game is the offense of the Ravens vs. the defense of the Chargers. During the 1st quarter, Joe Flacco finds Travis Beckum for 7. Ryan Mathews runs for 7 to tie the game, and Ryan Otten catches a pass from Rivers to take an early lead for the Chargers. Ray Rice in the 2nd quarter catches a pass from Flacco to tie the game. Nick Novak puts 3 up for the Chargers, but the Ravens respond with a 3 yard run from Ray Rice to take the lead at the half, 21-17. During the 3rd, Rivers found Brown in the end zone, and Flacco found Jacoby Jones to match. 28-24. In the 4th quarter, Woodhead puts up 7 for the Chargers, 31-28. With 5:16 seconds left, Justin Tucker ties the game with a field goal for the Ravens! 31-31. However, the Charges had more than enough time, and capitalize on it when Rivers connects with Malcom Floyd in the end zone with 0:12 left to play for the touchdown!

AFC Champion of 2008: San Diego Chargers, 38-31.

The Superbowl

San Diego Chargers vs. Arizona Cardinals

While during the season, the Chargers have already beaten the Cardinals once, the Cardinals are still given the upper hand with most votes, making the Chargers the underdog. During the first quarter, a pair of field goals on each side tie the game 3-3. During the second, the game starts going heavily into the Chargers direction, when Philip Rivers connects with Keenan Allen for 10 yards and a touchdown. Two field goals tacked on by Nick Novak for the Chargers, though the Cardinals fire back before the half ends, with a run from Brit Miller for a TD. 16-10 at the half, in favor of the Chargers.

During the third quarter, another pair of field goals, this time both coming from the Chargers put them up 22-10. The game looked to be closing out, when in the middle of the fourth quarter with 5 minutes left to go, Carson Palmer connected for a 13 yard pass to Derek Hagan for a touchdown, making it 22-17. They kick the ball, and the Charger start running the clock out. They get to a 3rd and 1, and run the ball but the defense of the Cardinals kicked in and made the stop! With 0:56 seconds and only one time out remaining, the Cardinals have to gain 74 yards before the time runs out. They start pushing it, but it comes down to 4th and 9 on the Chargers 29. They can't kick a field goal as they'd be down by 2, with 0:14 left on the clock. So instead, Carson Palmer goes for it on 4th and makes a long gun to the end zone where he finds Michael Floyd! With a 29 yard pass, Palmer wins the game for the Cardinals!

<div style="text-align:center;">I screwed up the draft class to send to the NFL from BBCF, dangitt. So the normal draft information would be posted here but it's not, I blame the economy.

Anyways, we had a pretty good run this season overall. Unfortunately, the Bowl we made it too, the New Orleans one led to us fighting a much better team (Texas Tech) and that was our demise. However looking at our player standings and how much we have been improving, I think next year we can be a very dangerous team. I love QB Stevens, but I think I'm going to have to get him out of his office...

WR Frank Anthony and WR Vincente Bautista have been friends since middle school. They grew up together in Raleigh, North Carolina, until Anthony's family started having financial issues and had to move in 9th grade to Mars, PA. Both are true freshman, just graduating college. They will be competing for a starting spot, but there's a much better chance they will be redshirted this year due to the rough competition.

CB Bradford Jacobs joined us from Fort Worth, TX who attended North Iowa Area Community College. During his stay at the community college, he put up some impressive numbers as an athlete and has wanted to attend Geneva ever since we picked up OT Jose Curry. They played together in high school and did some camps together, so Jacobs wanted to play together with his old teammate. He's coming in on his JR year of eligibility.

CB Sherman Patton who looks to fight for a starting position just like Jacobs is a true freshman with a lot of potential. He played at Dunmore High in Dunmore, PA.

During training camp, not surprisingly, Silva just put up better numbers than Stevens. Surprisingly though, so did Garza, Ware and Givens! For the first time in Geneva history, there are not two QB's, three QB's, but FOUR QB's that will be fighting for top spot. Right now however, Silva has it clinched. QB Larry Tate was released.

There was just no competiton. RB Ingram dominated every possession he had to run the ball, and the numbers didn't lie. There wasn't a single RB that was comparable. Two Freshman RB's were redshirted.

Chen started after Training Camp, but not by much. E. Butcher was right behind him, calling his name and waiting to take his place. Can Chen keep the #1 spot the entire season?

While Sears and Dunn both dominated in training camp, Rodriguez barely escaped clinching the third spot. With Carson and Bass closely behind, and Anthony and Bautista getting redshirted this year, Rodriguez has a fight for 3rd place.

Like running back, there was no comparison. Hamilton, Sierra, and Collins all three struggled to keep up with Austin's work ethic.

Jose left no question as to who would secure his spot, and Michael came onto the scene actually beating out his older brother John for his spot and clinching it.

Surprisingly, Hamilton and Barnett both got beat out of their starting spots during this training camp, with Carranza capturing it only by a little. Hamilton and Barnett, along with Todd, all three have a chance at recapturing Carranza’s spot if they put themselves out there and work for it. OG Joshua Johnson was cut.

RB Ingram was on the Award Watch list for the Doak Walker and Mosi Tatupu award, TE Austin for the John Mackey award, CB Jacobs for the Jim Thorpe award, P Robinson for the Ray Guy award. Also of importance, Texas, USC, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Purdue in that order are the Media Ranked Top 5. Texas has Florida Int, USC has #20 Notre Dame, and Oklahoma has Ball State as their first games. Coaches old college, Florida, ranked 11 Geneva at Toledo On the bus ride over we talked about how we beat them last season, and they wanted to set up two games because they thought we would be an easy team, to get them easy wins. Well we showed them last season who we were, and today we get to do it again! We went out in the first quarter, and kicked a field goal to take the lead. 2nd Quarter rolled around, and Toledo scored a TD to take the lead, 7-3. Silva connected with Dunn in the end zone for a TD of our own, and then RB Ingram ran one in during our next possession. Crooks missed both of the extra points, bringing us to a 15-7 lead. With a little less than 2 minutes left in the half, Toledo shot for the end zone and scored again, and Crooks kicked another field goal to end the half retaining the lead 18-14. Coach got onto Crooks during the halftime talk, and understandably. Missing two extra points is simply unacceptable. Evidentially it worked, Crooks didn’t miss any the rest of the game. We came out after the half, and a 41 YD interception return by our Jacobs was how it started. Crooks kicked a field goal shortly after, and Silva connected with Rodriguez in the end zone for another TD to end the third quarter, 35-14. The 4th quarter began, and Toledo right off the bat scores a TD. Ingram ran the ball twice, for two separate TD’s, and Toledo was able to make one final TD at the end of the quarter as we finished the game with the win, 49-27. This is why we let Silva start as the QB. He went 30/38, 289 yards, 2 TD’s, and 0 Interceptions. Ware had some throws in the game, and went 3/4 for 36 yards. Givens had one throw, going 1/1 with 5 yards. Ingram lit off during the run game, running 34 times for 169 yards and 3 TD’s and 0 fumbles! Our defense is the real story of this game though. While only getting to the QB one time for a sack, they caused 1 fumble, and intercepted the ball a shocking number of 4 times! While Crooks went 4/6 with extra points, he was 3/3 with Field Goals and 5/5 total after the half. We definitely deserved this win, and taught Toledo a lesson in the process, but we can’t let it get to our heads. We have a match against a team we haven’t fought before Buffalo coming up, and we can’t afford to be unprepared. In other news: #1 Texas shut down Florida Int. Yeah, it's only 3... and yes we barely got them, but we have them! It's a long shot, but if we keep up our games like we did against Toledo, we might be near the Top 25 by the end of the season! As for the other Top 5 teams: Texas has a little bit stronger competition this week against #16 Virginia Tech, USC has Baylor, Michigan's first game is this week against Louisville, Oklahoma has to travel to the very strong #10 LSU, and Purdue has their first match this week against Duke. Geneva vs. Buffalo Coach reminded us that we have not played Buffalo, so do not underestimate them. Underestimating them is something, we had no intention on doing. Silva came out hitting hard and quick, with a pass to Austin in the end zone! That's TE Austin's first TD in the 2 seasons he's been with us! We didn't have long to celebrate though, as our attention was quickly diverted during a 67 yard interception return by Jacobs! A field goal from both sides to end the 1st quarter had us in the lead 17-3. In the 2nd quarter, the scoring didn't stop. Ingram ran for a TD, Silva caught Sears in the end zone, while Buffalo could only settle for two field goals to end the half with us retaining our lead, 31-9. During the 2nd half, Buf. got another field goal, and our 2nd string RB Chen ran it in for a TD. We ended the game, 38-12. Silva threw 18/24 for 236 yards, 3 TD's, and 0 interceptions! Givens went 1/2 for 3 yards and 1 interception. Ingram ran 32 times for 297 yards. Chen ran 4 times for 9 yards and 1 touchdown. Crooks went 6/7, missing 1 field goal. Our defense caused 1 fumble, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions! Again it was the highlight of the night. Poor Florida International. Their coach made them play #1 Texas in Week 1, and now in Week 3 they are up against #10 Missouri. Also, #1 Texas defeated Virginia Tech and is moving on to play Wake Forest, while USC is at Houston, and Michigan is at Kent State. Oklahoma lost to LSU, which brought Oklahoma down to #7 and LSU up to #4. LSU is playing Louisiana-Laf this week. Purdue got pushed down one even though they one their matchup for the new #5 Miami. Miami is playing Rutgers while Purdue is playing Army.

We've also gone from 3 votes to 18 in the Media Poll.

Idaho vs. Geneva Bible

First quarter saw very little action as our Defenses played tough ball. Idaho kicked a field goal to take an early lead, one that they will only have for the first quarter. At the start of the second, Silva connected with Sears to put us up 7-3 at the half.

At the half, Coach told us this is a game we should be dominating in, and instead we are playing down to another teams potential. The sky is the limit for us, so play like it. And that's exactly what we decided we were going to do.

At the start of the 2nd half, Silva gave Austin his 2nd TD with a pass in the end zone, and Ingram ran a touchdown in nearing the end of the quarter. Crooks knocked in one final field goal to end the game, bringing the final score 24-3.

QB Silva took the whole game, 19/31 for 236 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.

RB Ingram ran the ball 41 times for 275 yards and 1 touchdown.

Crooks went 1/4 in field goals, and 3/3 in extra points.

Our defense wasn't really here to play too hard, giving us 1 interception and 1 sack. Next week, we're going to have to play like we want to win as our first in conference game comes and Louisiana-Laf is out to give us something to struggle with.

Dunn is still having troubles with his stomach, so Coach is sitting him out one more week. OT Curry hurt his nose, so Coach is going to play it day by day with him. He might be in next week, or Coach might sit him out a week. FS Sherrill has an abrasion to his eye, he's out at least a couple of months, maybe longer, Alfred Hines will be taking his spot.

Texas, USC, Michigan, LSU, and Miami all got their win.

LSU defeated Louisiana-Laf 48-21.

Michigan lost to Minnesota, which gave Purdue a chance to come back into the Top 5, while USC has been playing better ball and has gotten more votes, taking Texas' #1 spot, pushing Texas to #2. They are followed by LSU, Miami, and the lucky Purdue. USC has #20 Wash. State, Texas has #6 Oklahoma, LSU has #21 Florida, Miami has Virginia, and Purdue has #10 Ohio State. Some good clashing teams this week.

Meanwhile we stay at home while Louisiana-Laf come to us for our first conference game of the season. Coach told us last season we got away with a pretty good win, but this season they are looking for our number. We, of course, will be more than willing to put up some numbers for them to look at...

Louisiana-Laf vs. Geneva Bible

To start off the game, Silva connects with what seems to be his best friend, Austin in the end zone. He's now connected with him for 3 games straight, in the 1st quarter. After a field goal from Laf, RB Ingram ran the ball in to finish the 1st quarter with another touchdown, 14-3.

At the start of the 2nd, Laf kicks another field goal, while Chen catches a 2 yard pass from Silva for a TD. We end the half, 21-6. Coming back from halftime, Ingram runs in another TD, TE Hamilton catches a TD pass from Silva, and we're up 35-6 to start the 4th quarter.

With no signs of slowing down, Ingram runs another TD in, and Crooks knocks two field goals in, while Laf is able to sneak a TD in somewhere inbetween. We end the game, 48-13.

Silva went 24/30 for 315 yards, 3 Touchdowns and 0 Interceptions.

Givens threw 1/1 for 6 yards.

Ingram ran 40 times for 232 yards and 3 Touchdowns.

FB Chen ran 1 time for 31 yards, and caught 2 passes for 2 yards and 1 touchdown.

Our defense had 2 forced fumbles and a sack under their belt.

The sad story however, is this. WR Dunn still isn't ready for play, TE Austin tore a tendon in his finger, but TE Hamilton broke his leg. Austin is still going to try and play. OT Curry still has a deviated septum, and Coach still insists he plays. FS Hines has to go in to get an X-Ray this week for his wrist, and FS Sherrill is still out with his eye.

State and has a bye next week, #2 Texas beat Oklahoma (#6 at the time) and is playing #19 Iowa State next week, #3 LSU beat Florida, and is playing #15 Alabama next week, #4 Miami won and has unranked Notre Dame next week, and #5 Purdue defeated Ohio State in nice fashion, and will be playing Florida next week. Coming into the Army game, Coach made a daring decision. Jackson, who normally played Strong Safety, is now put in at Free Safety to make up for the hurt Hines and Sherrill. During practice Jackson did pretty well, but how will he make up in a game type scenario? Evidently Coach wasn't as nervous as some of us... Army vs. Geneva Bible During the first quarter our offense wasn't able to do much, sealing a lead in the first with a field goal. That brought on the second quarter, where absolutely nothing happened. Our defense was on the field as often as our offense, bouncing back and forth and having 3 and outs every which way. At the half, we were leading 3-0. The 3rd quarter is where Army intercepted QB Silva twice, one of those times running it back for a Touchdown and taking the lead with them at the end, 7-3. At the start of the 4th, the horror of a loss to Army was starting to sink in. After returning the favor, with an interception run back for a touchdown of our own (Thank CB Wilson for that one) we took the lead back with 10 minutes left to play. At 7 minutes however, we saw our lead vanish as quickly as it came, after another TD. A field goal brought us closer, 14-13 but we were still down by 1 with 4 minutes left. After a fumble by Army, it looked promising for us until at the 12 yard line we through an interception, the 2nd one of the night. 2:14 left to play, and they punted the ball. We started moving up the field, until yet again Silva threw another interception. With 1:06 left to play, the game looked over. That is until we were able to force a fumble with 0:33 seconds left to play. Our crowd was on their feet cheering us on and with 0:30 left on the play clock, Silva found his favorite guy in the end zone for a touchdown, giving a 4 week streak between Silva and TE Austin! Our 2 point conversion failed, but we held on to win the game, 19-14. Coach pretty much had a heart attack during that 4th quarter. QB Silva went 21/42 for 249 yards, 1 TD, and 3 interceptions. He also threw 5 absolutely terrible passes. RB Ingram ran 34 times for 185 yards and no touchdowns. He did however fumble. Our kicker, Crooks went 2/5 on the field goals and 1/1 with the extra point. Our defense got 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks. For them, it was a great game. With our Bye Week coming up, hopefully we can get enough people rested and ready to play so that we don't have such a close game with our rivals, Troy. <div style="text-align:center;">Week Seven The Schedule Week 1: at Toledo (W 49-27) Week 2: at Buffalo (W 38-12) Week 3: Idaho (W 24-3) Week 4: Louisiana-Laf (W 48-13) Week 5: Army (W 19-14) Week 6: Bye Week 7: at Troy Week 8: at Louisiana-Monroe Week 9: Florida International Week 10: Arkansas State Week 11: Florida Atlantic Week 12: at North Texas Week 13: at South Florida Week 14: Bye Week 15: Bye WR Dunn is finally ready to play after having a week more to rest, and TE Hamilton is progressing well with his broken leg, but is still going to need a lot more time before he sees the field. FS Hines is wanting to play but Docs say he isn't 100%. After seeing how Jackson played last game, Coach decided to keep Hines on the sidelines for this game. FS Sherrill is still out with his eye injury. We are still stuck on 10 points from the Media poll, not nearly close to any level of points that would be sufficient in getting into the Top 25. USC is still staying strong at #1 and is up against #18 Oregon State. Miami has taken #2 while Texas continues to move back, to #3 this time. LSU claims #4 and Purdue stays strong at #5, this time playing #14 Iowa. On the road to Troy, Coach reminded us that these are our rivals. At any point of our weakness, they will be looking to capitalize on it. We have to stay strong, and fight every play like it's a 4th quarter, and we are losing play. Geneva Bible vs. Troy In the first quarter, Troy takes an early lead with a field goal until RB Ingram runs a 47 yard TD, to take the lead 7-3. In the second quarter, Troy hits back to back field goals, until Silva shuts them up hitting Sears in the end zone for a touchdown. Troy responds quickly with a touchdown of their own, bringing them up 16-14 at the half. At the beginning of the 2nd half, Crooks nails a field goal, and Silva looked and found Austin in the end zone, for the 5th consecutive game, for a TD. To end the 3rd, we were up 24-16. In the 4th quarter, we shut Troy out of the red zone completely and Silva connected with Austin for another TD, and then finished the game with another field goal from Crooks. We won the game, 34-16. QB Silva went 20/30 for 214 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. RB Ingram ran 25 times for 144 yards, and 1 touchdown. FB Chen ran 3 for 46 yards. TE Austin has a total number of 6 touchdowns now from the past 5 games. Week Eight The Schedule Week 1: at Toledo (W 49-27) Week 2: at Buffalo (W 38-12) Week 3: Idaho (W 24-3) Week 4: Louisiana-Laf (W 48-13) Week 5: Army (W 19-14) Week 6: Bye Week 7: at Troy (W 34-16) Week 8: at Louisiana-Monroe Week 9: Florida International Week 10: Arkansas State Week 11: Florida Atlantic Week 12: at North Texas Week 13: at South Florida Week 14: Bye Week 15: Bye Hamilton, Hines, and Sherrill are all still out of business. In the Media Poll, we've gotten 39 votes. The #25 team (Virginia Tech) has only 89. It kinda gives hopes that if we keep up our streak, we might actually touch the top 25 this season! But let's not get ahead of ourselves, first we have to do work against the team that beat us last season, Louisiana-Monroe. Monroe has been a game we've been looking forward too all season, as Coach hasn't let us forget getting beaten by them in our own home. So now, we plan on going to their home and doing the same thing they did to us. We will leave there with a sour taste of getting thrown around like a rag doll and spit out, on their own home field. Geneva Bible vs. Louisiana-Monroe No rest. That's what our game plan was. We went out, and our FB Chen ran through their defensive line like it was cake, getting our first touchdown. Crooks followed with a field goal, and onto the 2nd quarter we go. As a welcome back for Dunn, Silva connected with a 64 yard pass in the end zone for a touchdown. However, Monroe wasn't going to take this laying down. 17-0, quickly turned into 17-14 after two touchdowns by Monroe finished the half. During the 3rd quarter, we weren't finished though. Silva connected with Dunn again on a 42 yarder, for a touchdown. Crooks again nailed a field goal. Also after Purdue lost to Iowa, NC State took over #5, with Iowa at #6. Miami slips to #4 with Texas back at #2 and LSU at #3. When we heard that Texas Tech was up there at #18, a sour spot came over us remembering that bowl game last season... that should be us. They have #2 Texas this week though, so we won't lose too much sleep. The news didn't come until the next day after our last game, when we found out that All-American competing DT Steven Reynolds was out for a couple months with torn cartilage in his elbow. At this point, there's no real estimate for when he will return. Hamilton and Sherrill are both out indefinitely as well. One of our hardest opponents on our schedule is coming to our home, Florida International who's only losses have been to, at the time, ranked #10 Missouri and currently ranked #2 Texas. Now is not the best time to be losing your best defensive player, but we will have to make due and we will come out on top, for Reynolds... Florida International vs. Geneva Bible We were like a completely different team, fighting for a completely different cause. Our fight this week wasn't for a win, but for Reynolds who felt he let the team down by getting hurt. If we lost, he would have put that on his shoulders. Nobody wanted that, so we decided we simply wouldn't lose. The first quarter kickoff, was returned by RB Neil Ingram 99 yards for a touchdown. In the 2nd quarter, Silva hit Sears and Austin for back to back touchdowns. Crooks hit a field goal, and FIU matched the field goal to go into the half, 24-3. In the 3rd quarter, we were relentless. RB Ingram ran in another TD, while FIU kicked another field goal. In the 4th quarter, Silva hit Austin again for a TD in the end zone, and RB Ingram ran in a TD yet again to finish the game, 45-6. QB Silva was near perfect, going 16/28 with 255 yards and 3 TD's. Ware went in for 3/3 and 17 yards. RB Ingram ran the ball 35 times for 222 yards and 2 TD's. Our defense forced 1 fumble, 1 interception and 3 sacks. Hopefully, Reynolds was proud watching this game. Week Ten The Schedule Week 1: at Toledo (W 49-27) Week 2: at Buffalo (W 38-12) Week 3: Idaho (W 24-3) Week 4: Louisiana-Laf (W 48-13) Week 5: Army (W 19-14) Week 6: Bye Week 7: at Troy (W 34-16) Week 8: at Louisiana-Monroe (W 30-17) Week 9: Florida International (W 45-6) Week 10: Arkansas State Week 11: Florida Atlantic Week 12: at North Texas Week 13: at South Florida Week 14: Bye Week 15: Bye The next 3 weeks, Arkansas State this week, Florida Atlantic, and then North Texas... we shouldn't be losing anytime soon. South Florida is the game I am most concerned about, but it's also the game I'm most excited about. If we play like we have a vengeance, like we did against Florida International, we will not only walk away the winner, but walk away truly victorious. OLB Fong hurt his elbow, but Coach looks to keep him in the game this upcoming week. As for Reynolds, the docs looked at him and told us it could be a couple weeks to a month before they could really tell us when Reynolds can play. Hamilton and Sherrill are both still out, and trying to recover. Great news by the way! We've broken the Top 25! We are currently ranked #24 in the nation! What an achievement for it only being Coach's 2nd season with us! Meanwhile, Texas Tech surprised everyone by beating Texas and moving to #10 in the rankings. That means USC still has #1, LSU moves to #2, Miami lost to Virginia Tech, so NC State moves to #3, Alabama sneaks in at #4, and Purdue recaptures their spot back at #5. This week, Arkansas State comes to town. Arkansas State vs. Geneva Bible To open the first half, Silva threw a pass to RB Ingram for a TD. Crooks kicked two field goals, Arkansas State kicked one themselves, and the half ended 13-3. During the second half, RB Ingram ran the ball for two touchdowns back to back and ended the game, 27-3. Silva threw 17/23 for 173 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Ingram ran for 315 yards, with 42 carries, and 2 touchdowns. you're absolutley killing it this year. The only team I've ever had go undefeated was my last year at Tennessee (when my computer crashed and burned). good luck, enjoying the write-ups
